I just built my own out of scrap lumber, plywood, and a old door window. It's a bit on the large size because I built it to fit the glass I had on hand. I can load it with an entire 5 gal bucket of old comb to a run. I've run it the last 3 days, 15 gal of old comb. The wax in the catch pan is beautiful clean yellow wax which surprised me because I put some of the nastiest old moldy comb in it you've ever seen from that last bucket. No bad smell nothing but clean wax. Been doing bees 2 years and removing bees 1 year. Should have built this thing sooner, been doing this with a big pot and strainer. Much better result and so much less trouble. I'll be buying a hillco extractor soon, their products are top notch from what I've seen.
I render in a crock pot. Use it to put back on new foundation going in the hives. Works great for drawing new foundations. Great video Jason, God Bless!!
Looks good! You may consider leaving the rubber on the lid ours is sharp! I noticed that's a little different pan than what we got with ours too very nice!
