Finally, somebody puts up a review of these racquets! Thanks guys, love how in depth you get. One suggestion.. show more of you guys hitting with the racquets! I know people are ruthless online but it does help when it comes to watching the racquet in action. Keep up the good work and looking forward to more reviews and comparisons 💪🏼
You need to explore more on the feature of the racket (blade v9), not about string pattern only. And the performance of racket for groundstrokes, volley, serve, etc.and also the difference with the previous version. That's what we want to know.
For all the debate around 16x19 vs 18x20 and which one is better for flatter hitters and offering better control, the Mighty Fed played with 16x19. Fun and informative Blade v9 review, guys. Cheers.
you should measure swing weight too even if the weight is nearly on point swing weight can be more off. also it is interesting if the swing weight has been adjusted from generation to generation. also the racquets are not the same because the extra strings on the 18 x 20 will lead to higher swing weight because more strings material equals more weight all other things being equal.
I just bought the new Babolat Pure Strike 98 16x19, the racquet is a tad bit underspec but has amazing control and power! Super happy with my new purchase!
Thanks for this video. Interested in trying out these Blades and the L model. I have played for years with the Prostaff 97L, love the control and arm-friendly weight but they can be a bit stingy! Would be interested in a comparison with the equivalent Blade.
I am torn between Wilson Blade 98 16x19 v9 and the 2024 Head Speed MP. What do you recommend for beginner to intermediate players who are looking to improve more?
Amazing video comparison! I have a simple but fundamental question: being a defensive player that, when he can, would like to try to attack, better a blade v9 98 16x19 or a 100 16x19? Thank you and hope you can help me!
Hi, thanks for your positive comments! I actually used the 100 last week for the first time, and loved it! I think it would suit someone who is generally more back-foot (defensive) as it’s slightly more forgiving and the access to power is significantly easier -whilst maintaining that classic Blade feel!
I played with the 16x19 v5 and v6 countervail all court player flater strokes fuond it fine for flat hitting! The string density in the middle is just as dense as 18 x 20 so i am not sure the control for most players will be that noticeable! I am now looking at the 100 since i am getting on for 64 need more help
Please guys can you start bringing in swing weights. As you know it’s an important factor in considering a racket. I really enjoyed your review but would ask that Joe/Ben let me know the swing weights of the racket. Thanks😊
@@PH-Tennis yeah i just tested it. It’s a refined V8. More stable with a little bit increase in power. It produces a heavier ball while V8 was so light hitting. On the other hand there is a con….. it became more muted unfortunately. I hear great things on new Dunlop CX 200 2024. They have changed the drill layup…. more spin and power and also they enhanced ball connection. Don’t miss reviewing on that :)
Great review! Will the 100 V9 version be released at the same time as the rest of the V9 line? As I recall, the 100 V8 version was released after the initial launch of the V8.
How does it compare to the Prince Phantom 100p and Head Speed 2024 16x19? Stiffness / Comfort / Power /control / feel / spin / stability / launch angle...
Thanks! Yes we have been using the Pure Strike 97 this last week, so that’ll be out soon. We also have the 100s to try too plus the new Speed and Boom… not enough hours in the day atm!
So, about the restring zero string, I come from the lynx tour 16-gauge string at 55lb. It's a firm string and I like it a lot. I really want to try restring zero but wanted to know if I should start with 55 like my pretty firm lynx tour? I scared to do anything different than 55 but if you say so.
What racket is it in? You’ll find ReString Zero a lot more powerful than Lynx Tour. I much preferred the Zero at a lower tension, around 50…hope that helps!
@@PH-Tennis My racquet of choice is something I just switched to, the extreme mp. Upgraded from extreme s. I string at 55 and prefer the extra control, which is the goal with the tension, without losing spin.
Take the 18x20 and put a hybrid of gauges for more spin as an 18x19 , while keeping the control with the string type , like with razorcode . Play with tensions and get rid of the overgrip , to truly feel it with your proper grip size . If you have a second one , then keep it full 18x20 and get it to your specs .
We are thinking about this - may not be a fair fight with the 100 vs 98 and different weights. What do you think of a blade 100 vs speed MP and blade 18x20 vs speed pro?
@@PH-TennisHead Speed Pro 2024 isn't well rated but I'm curious against Speed MP 2024 regular that have more positive reviews because it plays better (great specs) !

I disagreee.
You’ll be customizing it anyway, so kinda irrelevant.

Everyone wants to try the 18x19 and of course the new 100 which gained momentum with v8. ❤
Yes - we are waiting to get our hands on these! Watch this space….
Well done guys, good work!!

between 16 x 19 and 18 x 20 we need a compromise like the 18 x 19 or 16 x 20 string pattern
There will be an 18x19 version at selected retailers in Europe. 🎉

The 16x19 v9 is on of the top of my list, but would it make sense to get 1 of each string pattern rather than 2 of the same?
Excellent review! 🤙🏽
Sounds like you really need to use gut on the mains in the hybrid with a poly for control on the crosses in order to get more power
I am using the yonex ezone tour the earlier one. Is the New one much better?? Greeting from Wim the Netherlands
Can you give main difference between Blade and Ezone? New Blade = control racket with power improvement vs Ezone = power racket with muted feel?

The Blade v9 98 16 x 19 has been getting great reviews. The Blade 100 v8 got great reviews. Have you guys hit with the Blade v9 100?
One of us has has played with the 100 v9 and loved it! The rest of are still waiting - curse you Wilson shipping and logistics!
Which Toroline strings go well with the Blade 98 16x19? Does Restring Zero work well or is it too muted in a Blade?
can´t wait to know your thoughts on the blade 100
Can’t wait to give it a proper
Test! Just strung one up with ReString Sync going to compare to Strike 100 and Speed MP!
looking forward to your comparisons with blade and pure strike vs 4 and speed 2024
Yes we have been using the Speed MP & Pro this last week! And we have our Pure Strike 97 review coming out next week… busy time of year!
Please guys can you start bringing in swing weights. As you know it’s an important factor in considering a racket.
I really enjoyed your review but would ask that Joe/Ben let me know the swing weights of the racket. Thanks😊
The swingweight hasn’t changed between the v8 and v9 versions. So it is still 317g (16x19)
What were the swingweights?
Top video lads, rly interesting stuff
Glad you enjoyed it
Is the stiffness increased over v8 which was difficult to produce a heavy ball ?
Yes it is slightly increased! The whole frame is more stable than the v8

Η v8 εχει καλη σκληροτηρα νομίζω και ςμενα μκυ αρεσει που δενν εχει μεγάλο swkng weight . Η v9 ειναι λιγο ποιο βαρυα και ισως λιγο ποιο δύσκολη

That's the plan!
Do they really differ from the previous model beyond the paint job ?
That’s what they pretty much said, no.
We plan to do a specific comparison between v8 and v9 to really see what’s changed (or not as the case may be!)
I don’t think so. Strings are concentrated in the Center in Wilson blade , so that the control is not so lost even with open pattern.
The new speed pro or the v9 ???
Comparison video coming soon!
If you can’t feel, just stick a leather grip on it. Can’t understand why top rackets put PU grips on them
Nice work guys
Thank you 🙌
That ying-yang necklace is so 1990’s. 😜🤣🤡
It has magical powers though…
Just the same racquet as last year + marketing nonsense thrown in.
Agreed. £230 for a different shade of green paint? No thanks.
We’re testing them against each other soon, so keep your eyes peeled! 👀
It seems to me that asaics and others benefit from the actions ofvthe tour's actions .
