Also not just reacting, but trying to guess "oh, it's the chorus/bridge/breakdown coming up now?" - it totally takes away from the impact of those parts for me. That being said I did like Wyatt's reactions and responses to what was going on at times, but it felt like them talking so much felt like they weren't able to really feel the song
I think you guys have this premeditated distaste for rapping in it but listen to what he's saying it's such a beautiful perspective into his mind and if you go in with more of an open mind to his rapping and really listen to it you will love it. This song is so fucking cool and better than 99% of music in existence right now. It's so different and just ahhh so good. Like so fucking genius in the arrangement of the song.
Daniel G. Dude was literally just telling my friend that. Seriously probably my favorite song of 2019. I only like a couple FIR songs but this one just had it all for me. Been on repeat for days!
I feel like it's more about mental health (more-specifically depression) and how you feel when you have depression. The first line 'I wake up every morning with my head up in a daze' is how people who suffer from depression feel like. Like they aren't really living life, and they're just in this constant daze where all the days are blurred into one, and they forget what day it is. The first line 'I wake up every morning feeling like I'm in a daze' is how people who suffer from depression feel. Like they aren't really living life, and they're just in this constant daze where all the days are blurred into one and they forget what day it is. He talks about people thinking he's 'just going through a phase' and I think that's true for people who don't struggle with depression. Other people who don't struggle don't understand how hard it really is. But then he says, 'it's not a fucking phase, I just wanna feel okay.' I think when he says 'every wall that I knock down is just a wall that I replace' speaks to the isolation of depression. You shut people out, and when you finally decide to open up a little bit, they give you a reason not to (again, bc they just don't understand how you feel) and you put up walls again and shut everyone out again. When he says, 'I'm a liar,' I think it's talking about he's lying to everyone and himself that he's okay, and he isn't allowing himself to feel his emotions. People who struggle with depression are masters of putting on a mask that they're okay and that there's nothing wrong, when in reality, sometimes that couldn't be further from the truth. And I think it's called 'Popular Monster' bc a lot of people struggle with depression, and this song is kinda saying you're not alone. Also, I feel like his daughter is a recurring thing in his music, even though I've only listened to two, the only other one being Drugs. I think in this one, it's saying his daughter helped him overcome depression. That's just my interpretation \_(-_-)_/
Losing My Life is better imo. Recently at least. His earlier stuff with Escape the Fate and the first Falling in Reverse album were both better in general imo than newer records.
dude this song is so fire, the song structure was built around the lyrics in the beginning, and then they started the instrumental structure. ITS FIRE.
They didn’t bother to listen to the amazing lyrics. Talked over the entire thing. Ineffective, bad review. I don’t even care if they liked it or hated., I personally Love it. Just wish they would have LISTENED to it.
Y’all are like those friends you invite over to watch a movie and then they end up talking throughout the entire movie and have no idea what it was about at the end but then judge the movie... pause the videos when you react!
So I think the reason for the structure is that it mirrors a literary structure. The story starts slowly then builds to a peak, then the action drops, builds again and the story continues to build until the final climactic moments then the story settles and tapers off, or sets up for a sequel. This is definitely a story telling song and video so it makes sense to have the music follow the same pattern. Everything is so well timed in this it’s crazy, from bodies dropping with a beat to having a drum tattoo timed perfectly with bullet spray. It’s insane and I love it!
later on he said he didnt rly mean to roast her and she had a point since he didnt know that he looks exactly like most soundcloud rappers these days in the video
Not really a big fan of rap, but I will always listen to Ronnie's rap. Great song (and reaction I guess :P) overall. There were 2 albums after Fashionably Late, Just Like You and Coming Home. Last several songs were on the EP Drugs and this one is a single
have you checked out the new music video for motionless in white's Another life. i figured since you really liked this song much like i did you would love the video
Let's not be toxic guys as they were clearly listening and only talked enough for you people to get butthurt about how the lyrics have deeper meaning even though this is a first reaction and they said they would have to listen to it more, like ya know, what most people do to understand a song. Song structure is just as big of a part as the lyrics.
the first part is ronnie's anxiety going into his depression changing into his rage towards everyone and everything while not wanting to because he just had too much with what he is going through
There’s this SUPER underrated band called Glasslands that you gotta check out. They don’t go as hard or have as much screaming as most of the songs you react to, but they’re definitely worth giving a shot. Their most popular and imo best song is Deadman. Another good place to start is their newest single Silent Prey, or if u want something that goes a bit harder then Meaningless or Back and Forth are great options. Basically Personal fav-deadman Newest-silent prey Goes hardest-back & forth/meaningless
You guys, this is an absolute 9.9/10 track. I haven’t heard something this fresh and well executed in this genre maybe ever. I really hope this is the lead single for a new album. Sound and vibe is fantastic.
Wyatt I'm the same way. if I'm listening to a song that has a really good breakdown I'll start cackling like a madman. I also loved the falsetto in the chorus. That completely took me by surprise, and does a good job of contrasting with the rest of the song.
im torn because i really like your conversations about the music and your actual reactions but the talking over the music instead of pausing kills the song
I think they only did this song to appease the masses. I mean, they talked shit about him rapping before it even started. They really did not give it a fair go and they really disrespected phenomenal lyrics. So disappointing.
I'm good with them talking over the song. Everyone's already heard the song, it's a live reaction without pausing for fake extreme reactions. Good job!
Y'all should really pause when u want to talk about the song y'all be missing a lot of things that are being said WAY to much talking through the track
You both missed the whole meaning of the song. Actually listen to it, feel it, go deep inside it. Then comment. Your comments from one view, while taking through it is invalid.
What you just said was invalid, as they did pay attention to the song, not everyone gets the meaning of lyrics their first listen, which if YOU actually listened, they said they would have to listen to it more which is what most people do. Song structure is just as important as lyrics.
I honestly think ronnie is the most talented artist he can hit them bars he can sing he can hit long notes high notes and scream.. wow just release the album soon so I can just listen to album over and over
Not true, and they did listen to the song. Most people don't actually catch most lyrics their first listen, which if YOU listened you would know they said they would have to listen to it more. Song structure is just as important as lyrics.
I'm addicted to two things: this channel and this song. So I just opened TH-cam to search if you had something about it and the first thing that pop-out was this. Super crazy! Great job u guys!
Personally, I'm very biased when it comes to Ronnie. Love everything he does, but this song, bro. The goosebumps are real everytime I hear it. I remember when I first heard this song and I wasn't even paying attention at first because I was on my phone. My fiance's brother played it on a ride in the car and I was zoned into my phone but all I felt was the beat before I actually listened and I just remember feeling the beat drops and being like, "who the f**k is this? 5 minutes of "like and subscribe, go download a mobile game and buy our merch" is too long for me before seeing the actual video content. And just when it starts, there is a conveniently placed Ad. Kinda gives me the feeling that it does not "mean the absolute world", but that it means money, which - to be fair - also means a lot.

True. That lyrics stood out to me the most on the first listen. It’s scary to think that I had those exact thoughts in the sick of my depression.
@@eves1503 Exactly same here, but for some reason I haven't seen any reactors even acknowledge that line
@@OberWanKenobii Few reactors acknowledge lyrics. The song is full of some heavy shit and raw emotions. Like a cry for help.
And the instrumentation around it makes it just hit harder
I actually heard it as "curse my god just to feel again" and i honestly don't know which one i like more. Any opinions?
In my opinion this song is the best Ronnie Radke has ever sounded
Heath Sayre I couldn’t agree more
Really prefer him in "pick up the phone" era.
Nah listen to The Drug in Me is You reimagined

My biggest issue is that y'all never stopped talking to hear the actual lyrics of the song and how deep they actually go.
