When you realized that something was missing before. There was some musical genre "hole" that wasn't yet completely satisfied.

This joke is old, stale and inaccurate.
The joke being that since "they dont have a genre" the answer is "yes" only problem is that this has a genre..
Its almost a textbook example of Neo-Metal (or Nu-metal if youre murican).
See Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Dead By April, P.o.D, System of a Down, Killswitch Enagage, Soilwork, Godsmack, Disturbed, Bullet for my Valentine, the list goes on for ever of bands who has at some point done similar things.
When you mix metal with (Primarily, but not limited too) Rap you get Neo-metal... this is a thing and has been for almost 3 decades.

It really isn't about how he viewed himself but how others viewed him. People love to hate him, no matter how much he tries to change people will still view him as this terrible guy because of his past and prior views that they won't let go of.
No sarcasm: thank you for posting those definitions. What turned me off about this song originally was that i was like "damn that sounds dumb asf" then i listened to it.. come to find out, its a VERY different meaning which is, somewhat ironically, driven by the literal meanings.

You watch a falling in reverse video, and go "awesome!" And you add it to your playlist.
A few weeks later you listen to some more songs, add them to your playlist. After awhile you realise some of the songs link up to each other, you realise they have taken the time to tell a story.
You start to look deeper, break their songs down, you read into ronnie's history.
Now when you listen to their tracks, you understand the symbology, the depth, and pick up on a lot more of the raw emotion in his voice, and you understand it.
Your hooked, you listen to their songs on repeat, falling in reverse just moved up to become your favourite band.
It's a journey I've thoroughly enjoyed, and still consistently get goosebumps and feel the emotion when I listen to some of their songs.

I know this is old, and this has been said in other reactions to this video, but in the breakdown when they start firing their rifles, everything is in beat with the drums. It’s especially apparent when the final body hits the ground right on “Break down”. I always thought that was a really cool little detail.

The front man is Ronnie Radke, kind of a polarizing figure, has a storied past, served some time in jail (a whole other rabbit hole). Ronnie Radke was the original singer for the band "Escape the Fate" many many years ago, and was pretty ahead of his time. He can almost single handedly be credited for the post-hardcore / metal core movement from back when he was in Escape the Fate, before he went to prison. Great reaction guys, love seeing people hear this guy for the first time!

Guys, the same thing hit me, this was like the car crash when I discovered Linkin Park (I think Crawling) - I heard this on Amazon, just asked Alexa to play some metal and when I heard this it was like, hang on, did they make something I never heard? But then, the dude's voice is so extraordinary. The layers are so insane. I'm like "how did I miss this?". I lost my son and battled suicidal depression for 16 years and this resonated just in terms of lyrics. But lyrics are one thing, this song gets you as close 'musically' as you will ever get to deep depression and the fight to survive yourself. The musical battle is as strong as the lyrics. Loved this and every time I play it I recognise a different lyric. The drops and melodies are what you feel day to day, from feeling like everything is okay one minute, feeling like a robot, to wanting to break the world the next. At times you ask why you are even here if life is so painful. This song, although not the same journey, represents my struggle and I guess a lot of people recognise some parts of it. I will be searching out this insanely talented band from now on.

Yeah this song still gives me the chills, you're so right....rock needed this in the worst way....just a year ago I was saying that rock is on it's last legs and if nothing happened I truly felt that we had seen the end of rock....but this was so needed. I love metal, hardcore, punk, grunge and even some classic rock and I love hip hop...but there were only a couple of rock metal bands in the past that I liked but for the most part I didn't dig rap metal....that's not to say those bands weren't talented I just wasn't in to in for the most part....these guys do it right...I truly feel that this song and video were perfect. I've been watching you guys for a minute now and when I saw you reviewed this song I was hyped I knew you guys would love it
