Great video! I had an Ecoflow Blade for a month before I returned it and got the Mammotion Luba 5000. To summarize, the Blade was horrible but the Luba 5000 is amazing and I couldn't be happier. I have wide open skies so no issues with RTK positioning with either robot, the main issue with the Blade was the omnidirectional wheels and poor software. It couldn't handle any inclines in my yard and would spend most of its battery spinning around trying to get unstuck. I have a huge incline in my parkway and the Luba 5000 handles it like a tank with the 4-wheel drive rubber tires. It can literally handle anything and get itself out of any situation. The battery lasts longer (2.5-3hrs) and charges faster (~1hr) than the Blade. The cut quality is better with the two individual blade decks (15.7" cutting width) that cuts to the edge. With a recent firmware update they upped the max cutting area from 1.25 acres to 2.5 acres! The software is hands down better in too many ways to describe. You can adjust the speed of the Luba when you're mapping or mowing so you can literally drive it around like an RC car if you want and map a huge yard in 5 minutes. The Blade only maps with one speed which is incredibly slow. One of the best features is that you can delete individual mowing areas, no go areas or channels without deleting the whole map (not the case with Blade!). What's even better is that with a recent firmware update, they let you edit the boundaries so if there's one spot in your yard that you don't like how the Luba is handling it, you can edit just that 5-30 ft boundary for example without messing with the rest of your map. It actually follows your boundary perfectly (unlike the Blade) and you can program it to do 1,2,3 or 4 boundary cuts before it starts cutting the main mow area. Most importantly from a lawn care perspective is that you can control the angle of the cut and can put patterns in your lawn so you're not always mowing the same direction/pattern. So maybe you mow North/South on Monday, then East/West on Wednesday and then another day you can mow it on a diagonal..... very awesome! Another thing to note for people with big trees, the RTK beacon doesn't have to be installed/connected to the charging base so if you need to mount the RTK on your roof or on top of a fence which is 50 yards away from your charging base....no problem! Hope this helps someone out there.
@@tulsatom4307 all four wheels are the same, thick rubber tires (not omnidirectional in the front like they are offering as a model choice now). Personally I'd steer clear of the omni wheels. Like I said above, the AWD four rubber tires can tackle the craziest hills. They can handle even bigger inclines than Husqvarna's $5k AWD model. The Luba 5000 is literally a tank, even on wet grass.
@@402SHO I'll be honest, the sweeper worked awesome (when the robot wasn't getting stuck every 30 minutes) and the packaging it came in was excellent but yeah, they've got a long way to go before it's a viable product.
It sucks just trust me. My lawn still hasn’t came back in the corner where it decided to go so far off track and get stuck. I legit set the boarder line 4 ft away from the dip and it went Straight towards it. I got two boxes of extra blades and screws if you need them! I love ecoflow but there mower was extremely rushed during testing. You need to put the beacon on the corner yes, and if your mower goes anywhere near the cable you need to burry it no if ands or butts, I was told to steak it to the grass and I did it. But still cut the cable twice. Looks like they did change up the back wheels. The front wheels suck mainly because if you go slighty down at a decline the motor doesn’t have enough power to pull it back up and around.
This is basically exactly what I'd want. I've got a little less lawn area and more fenced area. Going to read more reviews and keep an eye out for a 2nd gen model.
I have a quick question for you: LCN, I bought Super Iron Plus and Milorganite. Is it too late to put them down.. Or should I just do one of them, and if so, which one
Would it not be better if the contact pads were on the top instead of underneath thus keeping cleaner and when driven in the contacts would also be a better a much better and more positive connection
Hello Lawn Care Nut, I bought one of these ecoflow blade's. got it back in January early this year, I did not unbox it until about now 2 and 1/2 weeks ago, ran into some issues, called ecoflow about it, they sent me a nice letter saying that the ecoflow blade is discontinued. Very disappointed. What do you think? BLUE
Husqvarna and a couple other companies make a doggie door that you can build into the fence. It may not work for the EcoFlow Blade though because it's so tall.
That be so cool later when they get more advanced if they add a little boom arm that comes out of the side of it and it does the edging perfectly all around landscaping side walk and fencing. Full experience.
Does anyone know if it’s ok if you apply ornamec in early morning during summer to kill of Bermuda in fesque yard? I am aware it’s best to be done in spring and fall. It’s just that I am trying to slow down this process before it takes over front lawn like it did after liquid burn last yr to front lawn due to the same issue among other weeds every yr. I am doing LCN lawn care program that suggest this product that I already have. I did it last yr prior to lawn intentional burn off and no issue in late June. It’s just a little later now in summer. I still plan to use Ornamec every month this fall and next spring. To slowly kill off Bermuda hopefully for good. I just want to use once in summer in early morning while still much cooler.
Could you do a video on tips for repairing lawn damage after 4th of July? We were away from our house last night and I guess our neighbors had a mishap with the fireworks fun and I found some black burn spots in my lawn where it looks like they may have had to put out a small fire. 😬😅 Thankfully it’s a small section, but it’s right smack dab in the middle of the front yard and I wasn’t sure if there’s anything I should do or can do to aid in repairing the damage? Thank you!!
They could easily put a sort of brush (such as a door mat cut to size and glued down) on the charging station that the contacts have to pass over to clean then, honestly something he could probably put on it himself to help with that issue
Nice showing the pros and cons of simple it is, but that there are still flaws. It gives a good idea if you want to accept those flaws buying into that type of system or if just a traditional mower is still better off. keep showing off more of these robot mowers! I'm sure each year they will keep getting better and better.
Thanks for the honest review. I have a spinal injury and while I love a great lawn that’s just not in the cards for me to physically accomplish BUT we have had some success with a robot vacuum so my wife is on board for a robot lawnmower. Our lawn is bumpy and that’s an understatement…because it was replaced incorrectly after a tornado. I hope they resolve the issue soon and we can pickup a robot lawnmower to reduce the amount of tasks my wife has to do.
If you need something RIGHT NOW, consider looking at the Mammotion Luba mowers. They have the 1000, 3000, and 5000 models depending on how large your yard is. My lawn was never pristine. It was in terrible shape when I bought the home, and so far I've only had time to fix the weeds and haven't had a chance to level it out or re-seed it. It is a very lumpy lawn with 30 degree slope along one edge of it. It is bermuda grass that has been growing too tall too quickly and has required more mowing than I want to do in the summer heat to keep the HOA happy. So I bought the Luba 1000. So far I've only had it for a week and it has been handling the bumpy lawn with ease since it is a heavier mower with more power than the ecoflow blade. There are a few warts though: 1: The anti-theft systems are arguably inadequate since a thief would need to connect Luba to their home wifi for it to ping its location for help. Some users have resorted to hiding airtags or GPS trackers on or within the mower. 2: The battery is not readily accessible for user replacement. Time will tell how big of an issue that will be. 3: The 5000 models have been known to wear a donut shaped hole in the lawn approximately 1 meter in front of the charging station since that it is where it always does its reversal maneuver to recharge. The 1000, 3000, and in some regions a subset of the 5000 models have omniwheels for the front wheels that should reduce wear on the lawn when turning. I haven't had mine long enough to see if the problem will develop with the new wheels. The omni-wheel models have only just started being shipped to consumers. I hope that future software updates will be able to randomize the position of the reversal maneuver. Until then, you might want to move the charging station to where the eyesore isn't immediately visible. 4: While the newer lubas have omni-wheels like the ecoflow, they're arrayed differently in such a way where I don't think that they'll have the same issues that the ecoflow experiences. However I do worry that they might have trouble with pine needles. I have no pine needles on my property, so I'll never know firsthand. 5: Large trees with dense foliage can block the GPS signal that Luba uses to navigate, so if you have many trees on your property then luba may not work well. That's what I can think of off of the top of my head. My luba has only gotten stuck once, and that was because I mapped the lawn too close to a flower bed and it attempted to climb the brick of the perimeter wall into the bed. It climbed up enough to trigger the lift sensor which shut down the mower as a safety precaution. But that was my fault for mapping the perimeter too close to the obstacles. IMO you should expect to still need to do a light amount of mowing/trimming around the perimeter of your home or any obstacles. If you don't have an immediate need, it might be prudent to wait a few years. I suspect more manufacturers will start adopting RTK guidance, and I imagine that RTK guidance will be combined with vision to help improve performance amidst heavy tree cover. Like I said, I haven't owned mine for long yet. But so far I am very happy with it and my primary concern is someone stealing it. edit: the luba also currently has the same cut height range as the eco-flow, which as has been stated is an issue for some breeds of grass. Newer models with a larger range of cut deck are in the works but aren't available yet.
@@GeneralArmchair wow you are an awesome human for taking the time and detail for helping me with that info. I really appreciate it. We only have 3 trees right now because we have a smaller property but we have been looking for a couple years to get a slightly larger home and property and I like the RTK style since it doesn’t require wires to be installed and we can easily take it with us to the next house…if that ever happens 😂. The way I think of robots in general are that they help about 80-90% but there’s still some form of human involvement still. At least that’s the way it is with our robot vacuum so far. We’ve had it for almost 2 months and that why we are considering a robot lawn mower because my wife is now slightly convinced that it could help and be convenient. The robot vacuum still has its quirks though. For the lawn mower I’d expect that she would still need to trim along the perimeter and obstacles or the occasional mow. Our main concern is the super bumpy lawn but the general contractor is supposed to fix they issue they caused when they repair after the tornado. It’s pretty bad and you have to watch that you don’t roll an ankle right now. I like the Lubo but I’m worried in general for a lot of companies because I wonder what the lifespan is from a robot mower for serviceability like you mentioned. My concern is the battery, deck motor, wheel driving motors and even if those are fine I worry that companies decide not to support it anymore or close up shop and I don’t know if that means the mower will still function or does it rely on the manufacturer to operate? Will it be like a cell phone and they just stop support and then you are forced to upgrade. These are some of my concerns. Thanks again!!
@@kore996 Long term serviceability is definitely a concern with the Luba. From my limited personal experience and with reviews from others, the mower seems to be a good job but signs of growing pains in other areas are definitely visible with mammotion. Personally I feel like most of the other companies manufacturing mowers have been resting on their laurels for years with their guide-wire driving roomba style mowers. I think Husqvarna might be the only solidly established company offering an RTK guided mower, but theirs clocks in at twice the cost of some of the Luba models. I read about some home-made solutions that grew out of something called the Ardumower project, but the documentation that I could find on it was mostly in german. I just don't have time to devote to a DIY project of that level right now, but the final solution at least would be something where you could replace everything and weren't reliant upon support from a single company. Normally I mow while wearing a filtered mask because of my grass allergies, but the heat has been unbearable for wearing a mask this year and one too many nastygrams from the HOA pushed me over the edge to rolling the dice with luba. I might get burned with early adopter problems, but I'm hoping it can last me 4-5 years so that it can save me some money in the long run compared to hiring someone to mow my lawn. I might be capable of taking it apart myself to replace a simple battery, but if it can just last me a few years then I hope something more refined will be on the market in the future. For example I was attracted to the Worx brand mowers since their mowers have readily replaceable batteries that use the same batteries as their brand of cordless power tools. But the Worx mowers all use guide wires with the exception of their new "vision" model that replaces the wire with unsightly magnetic strips that sit upon the surface of the grass, and even then it still does the inefficient roomba style navigation. I suspect that the future is a combination of RTK for map definition and high level route planning, with some kind of vision sensor providing obstacle avoidance and backup navigation during periods of poor GPS reception that may be encountered under trees or within an alley between homes between the front and back yards.
The mower definitely is not a mulching mower. They have come a long way and are getting cheaper. For now, I’ll stick with my gasser but the lines will cross some day soon. I enjoyed the video.
Looks like they would do better making those Omni directional wheels caster type wheels. Looks like the current design adds a lot of drag as the mower pushes against them. Battery life would go up as well as not gets stuck as easily with casters.
Interesting. I like this idea better than the buried wires. And I like the mowing in lines rather than random. But I won’t be buying one until that lip issue is figured out and mowing on a slope is figured out.
I have a robot (Novabot) "ordered" through a crowd funded app. Supposed to be getting it this summer some time. We'll see how it does. I am concerned that it will not mow high enough for St Augustine. It was interesting watching your video. Thanks for posting.
Are you sure you are getting that Novabot? Looks like to me they went out of business. I too put in an order but I have gotten nothing but an undeliverable email reply.
@@gabriellamulanix Wow. I have no idea... But I have been getting regular emails I actually just got an email yesterday about the 4th of July. So I will stay optimistic for a couple months yet. 🤔😏
@Thelawncarenut What kind of non-alcoholic brews you sipping on?? You like them? I've had to switch to NA's for a bit, Dr's orders! I';ve tried Bravus Brewing's West Coast IPA, Sam Adams IPA, Corona, Heineken, Stella.... So far my favorite is the Corona. I want a good, hoppy NA IPA tho!
Great little mower. I’ll probably get one at a discount one day. My poststamp size food forest yard have more small trees and garden beds than lawn but I want my place to look great. I wish if they had a model with nitght vision Camera for remote viewing, would be great also.
Saw a comment on another review, that the omni wheels would be better on the back. Which would make it easier to steer and perhaps overcome the edge of the lawn issue you came across.
The charging contacts being dirty and the mower not being able to mow are the biggest downfall of this. I can’t mow during the heat of the day when the grass is dry because it overheats and I can’t mow after dark when it cools off because there is dew on the grass and the contacts won’t charge when they need to
Actually wait for generation 10 or 15. We had cellphones before, but it wasn't until the iPhone where it was practical and affordable for the general consumer that acceptance kicked in. 5 years from now this tech will be mature. Hopefully. Hate pushing Toros.
Wow - Robot mowers are closer to where I would want it to be then I was thinking. This mower should Raise the bar on other brands too cause there is enough competition coming in now. I feel like todays robot mowers will mow good enough to not get fines but not well enough to dominate…. This is allot closer to the dominate then I was thinking we were at…. Man we could be within a year or two of an awesome mower.
Excellent video, so glad I wanted to make my purchase. I think it's an awesome machine but I knew there would be some drawbacks coming out. Sponsered vs. Un-sponsered gave me what I needed to know... Thank you!
Charging fix is easy for Eco flow move the charge contacts on the mower body to to top side instead of under.....but make a slot connection so it avoids elements.
How about theft protection? If you have to sit out and watch for two hours what you could mow in 20 minutes that doesn't sound so great. Florida lawns are flat. Others, not so much.
Robot vacuum cleaners have been around for about 20 years and they all still have most of the exact same problems they suffered from 20 years ago. If you're waiting another year or two for the perfect the robot lawnmower, you're going to be waiting forever. The technology improves very slowly and most companies don't fix many of the most common problems like getting stuck on an obstacle.
Hard disagree. Bought my mom a roomba and she loves it, doesn't have to use the old vacuum as much anymore. Only for small hard to reach spots she would've had to clean anyways
I had a blade. It was terrible. Would not cut in straight lines, cannot mow if you have any significant shade. I sent mine back. It is documented on my channel.
interesting! you do have alot of trees that we did not have to contend with. Brett has the RTK pole in the front yard, but the mower does fine all the way at the far back behind the house. But I had not considered what overhead disruptions would do. Looks like we will have to test it on a shaded lawn next.
If this gets better….. which it will… lawn guys all over are gonna be included in the AI job apocalypse. Not gonna lie if they get it where it can do St. Augustine I want one too!!!
but it is reality in a large portion of the population. I think we showed pretty well what happens - he had to remap the entire thing. We talk more about that in the podcast as well. Thanks for watching!

I agree overpriced junk.
Great review, very useful information in considering buying it
"I'm just going to get all the views" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
this is the most epic install ever
Looks like they would do better making those Omni directional wheels caster type wheels. Looks like the current design adds a lot of drag as the mower pushes against them. Battery life would go up as well as not gets stuck as easily with casters.
Interesting. I like this idea better than the buried wires. And I like the mowing in lines rather than random. But I won’t be buying one until that lip issue is figured out and mowing on a slope is figured out.
I can see you are a major help Allyn. Just bring a chain and an umbrella
@@gabriellamulanix
Wow. I have no idea... But I have been getting regular emails
I actually just got an email yesterday about the 4th of July.
So I will stay optimistic for a couple months yet. 🤔😏
"Enjoy the mow" -some long dead TH-camr from the old days of the Tube
ha ha!!! 😂
@@TheLawnCareNut You were supposed to get the electric robot mower review out during Pride Month!
@Thelawncarenut
What kind of non-alcoholic brews you sipping on?? You like them? I've had to switch to NA's for a bit, Dr's orders! I';ve tried Bravus Brewing's West Coast IPA, Sam Adams IPA, Corona, Heineken, Stella.... So far my favorite is the Corona. I want a good, hoppy NA IPA tho!
The ones you are talking about are Jawas. The Sand People are different
Great little mower. I’ll probably get one at a discount one day. My poststamp size food forest yard have more small trees and garden beds than lawn but I want my place to look great. I wish if they had a model with nitght vision Camera for remote viewing, would be great also.
Walmart has it for $999 right now
Saw a comment on another review, that the omni wheels would be better on the back. Which would make it easier to steer and perhaps overcome the edge of the lawn issue you came across.
Why do the wheels point in?
Birth defect 😂
The charging contacts being dirty and the mower not being able to mow are the biggest downfall of this.
I can’t mow during the heat of the day when the grass is dry because it overheats and I can’t mow after dark when it cools off because there is dew on the grass and the contacts won’t charge when they need to
Should have done the Luba. Lots of issues cropping up on the ecoflow.
Adding 2 brushes to the docking station could help fix the issue. The skewed wheels seem odd.
Actually wait for generation 10 or 15. We had cellphones before, but it wasn't until the iPhone where it was practical and affordable for the general consumer that acceptance kicked in. 5 years from now this tech will be mature. Hopefully. Hate pushing Toros.
Beer. YES.
Cigars. YES.
Robot Mower. NO.
ha ha!!
Lazy people need this ! Walker mower for me! 👍🏻💪
Cardiovascular Surgeons all agree, No Robots cutting the grass. It has to be a push mower! ❤
@fredrickhaemker8434 You bet. Robot mowers are for the week and lazy. Nothing like a good case of heat exhaustion to feel good about yourself 😎
Very cool but I think it needs another year or two for a TTTF lawn and then I’d buy one! Thanks for the review 🤙🏼.
Cool video. I have zero interest in letting someone or something else cut my grass but I still watched the whole damn thing haha
I wish these guys did review for everything
Definitely return it and get the Luba. They look to be a much better mower.
7:46 that’s the cough when it’s that potent THC
Nice video. Thanks
Maybe for the backyard, I will always do my front. I enjoy the mow too much!😜
Those pigeon toed wheels drive me crazy.
Thanks great video!
Hey it can change patterns! We have one
Man we could be within a year or two of an awesome mower.
are the front wheel locked in 45degree direction always, that is very stupied.
Nice, The Black Hole reference by Allyn
Well I'm sold I'm going to buy one ride behind it on my Mower and drink beer
Remember the lawnmower scene in the movie "Maximum Overdrive"?......?
Add a roller to the back. That be dope.
Excellent video, so glad I wanted to make my purchase. I think it's an awesome machine but I knew there would be some drawbacks coming out. Sponsered vs. Un-sponsered gave me what I needed to know... Thank you!
Enjoyed The Black Hole reference
Charging fix is easy for Eco flow move the charge contacts on the mower body to to top side instead of under.....but make a slot connection so it avoids elements.
Nice toy
Oh man you have a EGO Batt powered fan.......Hahahahahahaha Live it up AL!!!!!!!!
It’s my fan not his 😂😂😂
@@Brettsgrasscapades Nice!!!!!!!
I bought one that night when I got home. 😂
@@TheLawnCareNut NICE BOYS!!!!!
Does that have the built in mister on the ego fan??
Maximilian from The Black Hole. Guess I'm one of the three people that got that!
Go return that and get a Luba. My Luba - Omni wheels and all - is so much more robust. JGBBU in MA.
I bought one, it's in the mail, arriving this week!
We promote healthy yards we should also promote healthy lungs too, Mr. Allyn lol.
How about theft protection? If you have to sit out and watch for two hours what you could mow in 20 minutes that doesn't sound so great. Florida lawns are flat. Others, not so much.
Needs to be 4-wheel drive, bigger wheels for St.Aug.
Nice review good machine just needs more development to improve the technology.
You go on vacation let this work? Don't bet on to see it when you come back.
Mowing is a privilege.
That's not true. The robotic vacuum cleaners do excellent small object detection since lasers
@Thelawncarenut yes I would love to see that. I got a luba 3000 that does a much better job. Btw I am a long-term fan of the channel ;)
@@Innovate2renovatedo you have a lubba video? Looking for an honest review.
@BrendenChase77 yes I have a few on my channel
@@Innovate2renovate sounds like you like it. Thanks!
For $3k it better make my breakfast.
😂. $999.00 online at walmart site at time of this comment.
I would’ve done take those front wheels off put normal wheels put them straight on there and put a tread on it
That is NOT enjoying the mow!😮
agreed!!
I enjoy the fact that I don’t have to mow!
@@Brettsgrasscapades it's the only exercise I get
Isn't this thing like $3k? For that price you could buy a quality mower and pay a kid to do a better job. :)
Let's not mention if you have a dog and you happened to miss a pile, those wheels are going to get nasty!
Drink hop water, you get the hoppy flavor without the calories.
Ha! How many people drop a The Black Hole references?!
love it!!
I am one of the three who knows who Maximilian is.
love it!!!
While your figuring out that thing I'm finished mowing with my gas mower and drinking a Beer!!!😂
If this gets better….. which it will… lawn guys all over are gonna be included in the AI job apocalypse. Not gonna lie if they get it where it can do St. Augustine I want one too!!!
Not reading instructions isn’t the flex you think it is.
What is the flex he thinks it is?
but it is reality in a large portion of the population. I think we showed pretty well what happens - he had to remap the entire thing. We talk more about that in the podcast as well. Thanks for watching!
Very entertaining but not a practical mower for most American lawn owners. First world problems if you're having issues with a 3k robot mower 🙂
Buy a Mammotion Luba
Read the instructions.
Bro, I don’t even wear jorts. Someone come get their uncle
I've been reading horrible reviews on this one. Seems like EcoFlow has some tweaking to do.
They’re called Jawas
