Wouldn´t it be way cooler to use the real ear plugs and make a little scene where someone puts them in so the audience knows instead of using the fake ear buds?
My son listened to you before enlisting as an 18x in ‘21. He recommended to me to listen to you so I could learn what he’s going to be doing. It helped me to know how to support him in this journey. So not only do your videos help potential candidates, they help those who love and support them. He was selected in ‘22 and graduates the Q course next week. Thank you! And wish you continued success in all that you do.
@@PD-we8vf yes. He took it before we went. He took the J&J one jab. It irked him that he had to in order to enlist and that so many were kicked out due to it. And now it’s not mandatory anymore. He had the big C in Nov 2020, the OG version. His bunk mate on day 1 tested positive and took him 6 weeks to get picked back up. Complete companies shut down because so many had it in BCT it was ridiculous. We knew the shots didn’t work and BCT was proof. Here, everyone had the jabs and yet it went through Benning like wildfire.
I remembered seeing his scars while watching the show and thinking, that guy must be real life former military. Tyler and the other advisors do an AMAZING job making the aspects of the show feel real
I kick my ass for not serving, but I spent nearly 30 years in public safety. Worked contract security, Fire, dive rescue/recovery, corrections, police, tactical operations and instructor of various disciplines. I retired earlier this year. My wife hates watching action flicks with me because I’m pointing out the different weapons and pointing out the shitty tactics. SEAL Team is one of my favorites. I’ve watched a ton of your videos. Keep the them coming. I really enjoyed this one. When you can, get guys like this involved. Thank you for your service. Much love for brother tacticians.
This is a badass format. It doesn't even need to be military advisors. You could just grab a professional driver that advised on a movie, a mma fighter, a chef... whomever. It's just neat to hear explanations behind creative decisions on shows.
My high school woods/drafting and design/auto cad teacher was a former Vietnam tunnel rat. Coolest teacher I ever had, guy was awesome. He didn't talk much about his service but he did share a couple stories. That drafting class was cool, you could take it all four years and it would still count as credits and you'd still progress, so I had him as a teacher for four years. Ton of respect for that man.
US Army vet....VN era.....grateful to have served - love you guys. I spend my evenings sitting with a couple of my dogs watching this series. Thanks so much for all the amazing work.
Gotta give respect when it’s earned man. You being called out by non vets, and taking it on the chin, is super mature of you. Most dudes I’ve spoken with or seen in socials, both conventional and SOF, think they’re gods gift. But you have the respect and humility to be corrected and take it on the chin. Much respect bro. Lotta dudes in the community can learn from you
Seal Team first episode captured the reality of losing a brother in combat followed by the struggles of Bravo 1 trying to deal with that loss. The scene that had me break down in tears was when Jason Hayes opened up his front door to see a police officer...that right there made me feel that authenticity. The realities of the world never stop whether you are operating or not. I've watched the first 5 season over twice, and I still get the same feeling when he opens that door. It doesn't get any easier after Season 6 and 7. Excellent work, Tyler Gray and to all the other cast and crew members. Well done. Come home.
To Tyler, each episode is a mission. He doesn't overthink it. He just gets what information is needed to move forward. As it plays out, he fills in the necessary gaps. All these things make this show incredible. It'd be an honor to meet any of you American warriors. I can't wait to see the next one. 🇺🇸
I watch Seal Team and have always thought it looked 'professional', I am ex Army that worked alongside SF (support role, I was never an 'operator') and have always been impressed with weapon drills, tactics etc on the show. I had no idea that Tyler was the real deal, looking at him again now, of course he is! Explains why it is one of the best military shows out there.
Absolutely mind blowing having Tyler on your show. Love your B&Bs and love SEAL Team. Can't wait for more of Tyler and you on your channel. It would be great to hear Tyler's thoughts and insights on episode 9 of season 1 where Bravo Team is up against another Tier One unit from a rival country (Russian Alpha Group). That ep is one of my favorites. Keep up the good work, Buck!
Great comments about tunnel rats. My father was a tunnel rat in Vietnam 67-69 didn’t share too many stories but the couple he shared made this 5’3” man who volunteered to fight for his country seem larger than the Empire State Building! Haven’t met many other men with a bigger pair!
This is an awesome episode, it's brilliant to see Tyler transition from a Tier 1 operator to a producer of an extraordinary show! I found this a really insightful episode - Cheers Guys!
Love Tyler. What an amazing man a true warrior and God has definitely been carrying him at his lowest. Can't wait to hear the FNG podcast with Tyler and his courageous story again! Much love yall be safe keep on doing such an amazing job helping others and having fun entertaining and teaching us!
I like that you guys brought him on to really speak about the show and not just his military experience. Thats what all pods have him for, they just skim over seal team
That standoff was a badass scene, almost a real clash of the titans moment. I remember the Pentagon liaison they had on the plane saying something stupid like "they're tier 1 special operators! My suggestion is that they do something...special!"
I laughed hard at that line. Perfectly written and delivered. Fans of Red Dawn would've immediately known the reference. My wife might have been annoyed that I rewound that scene several times while we were watching it, but it was worth it. WOLVERIIIIIINES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is so powerful to hear WHY I love the show. The BTS that explains what makes it believable is SO fascinating. Thank you guys for this great time with Tyler. I also love that he on a rare occasion is a geeked out fan.
So awesome to hear they emphasize the visual in visual medium, that's all that matters if you can tell your story visually alone in a visual medium you are legit badass.
I realized I had PTSD after binging SEAL TEAM - I kept saying “that’s funny I do that… wait I do that too… eventually I got diagnosed and treated - so thank you for addressing these topics
Watched Seal Team series and finished it a couple days ago. 11/1/23. Kept me on the edge and cheering or crying every episode. I’m 70, female, and admired every character. My dad was in WW2 and my son-in-law did 22 years, finished his service as a marine 7 years ago.
The golf thing is exactly right, Tyler Grey as an actor in Seal Team comes off EVEN MORE authentic than the show itself, which is already unusually authentic - you could just tell he was for real. Well done..
I wish we had an FNG academy in 2002. I went in as a 18x at 17 years old. The only good thing I had going for me was I didn't have any bad habits yet and only knew it one way which is their way. I'm glad that you guys have helped so many get through selection. I tell everyone that ask me about selection to look you guys up.
It’s been an honor. Great insights of the action show business in general of our most special military show on tv. Thank you all four for your service (plus the cameraman; can’t recall his name).
Quite possibly the best B&B to day. That’s the good stuff about this show at 15min mark with Ray and Jason is that other shows don’t want to do for fear or it feels forced if they do it. These guys manage to make it seem genuine. It’s that humor that may or most likely will offend people that is what makes the military or at least during my time.
You guys are correct. To truly blend in, no one ever knows you’re there. That’s the point, but you can’t do that accurately for television. Some of us understand. I wish that more people would.
One of my fav patients was a tunnel rat in the marines. He said the first thing you go in with is a knife and a flashlight. You try not to shoot because you just let everyone know you were there. Then he said the most bad ass thing I ever heard, “Everyone I killed was with a knife”
I'm waiting for y'all to get to the sixth episode. The whole thing is basically them running the mockup for a mission again and again and again until they get it down pat. One of my favorites
Having him on that show to ground it and make it as authentic as Hollywood will allow is awesome. Have t seen the show, just snip it’s, but really want to.
I love the Seal team shows they are amazing!! Tyler is really cool and humble and its great to see you 2 fan boying the heck out of it all. I really liked how they would place a camera on the guns when the team where doing a shoot out scene. I was wondering why they decided to stop using that? Neil and AJs characters are awsrome Ray and Sonny. Also Sonny has a scene where he is upset about clay in the last series. Its oscar worthy in my eyes.
That C. Thomas Howell story was great! I do really like (the ORIGINAL) Red Dawn myself, but to be honest my favorite role of his was in Gods and Generals as Thomas Chamberlain. His Mustache in that film was LEGENDARY. Very close to the actual historical character.
On the note of: "Vehicles that fit the job and hide your guys". A german SWAT team (SEK) did a raid, a year or two ago I think, that involved a normal commuter bus. Why? It blends in perfectly, it has space like crazy and you get beautiful big double doors that open quickly to let you out on target. They had to get close to a big hotel as low profile as possible, so they chose that option, stopping at the bus stop out front and going in.
My step dad was Army Special Forces in Vietnam. He wasn't specifically a "tunnel rat", but he's a pretty small guy; so a lot of the time he was the one crawling into someplace with a flashlight and pistol to check things out. I feel like that particular task crosses the line from courage into insanity, but it had to be done, and he was the only one small enough to fit through the entrance tunnel.
That Swayze impression was spot on! I actually live only minutes away from the Arapaho national forest from the original Red Dawn! I do know it wasn't filmed there but it's still to cool to say it!
Dude, this was the a REALLY good beers and breakdowns. How cool for Tyler to come on the show. I saw his interview on SRS and I never thought he'd be on B&B! LETS GOOOOO!!! Loved hearing Tylers commentary on the show. Shows how well thought SEAL Team is.
Hello FNG. Great job on what you guys are doing, absolutely love it. Please do all the episodes of SEAL Team if you can. SEAL Team is my favorite tv show and is by far the best military tv show because of the way it highlights an operator's life and their family's life and how hard it is to balance those lives, especially family life.
Absolutely one of the best 'beers n breakdowns' ever, if not the best, with Tyler coming on the show. Keep up the great work, love the channel and all that you do. Also, would be cool if you could get Scott Foxx/Full Metal on eventually to do a show.
I cannot convey to you how excited I was to see Tyler Grey on this episode of B&B... And this episode *did not disappoint*! Such a likeable, cool dude, and a legitimate warrior at the very tip of the proverbial spear. Holy sh!t, what a homerun this episode was.. I'd kill for more of this sort of thing (figuratively speaking - please don't shoot my dog, ATF). Love, Some Dude in Jersey.
Man this was a great collab! Love the pod and seal team. It’s the one show I can put on and know I won’t spot any “Hollywood” mistakes on weapons and equipment. Keep up the great grind!!!!
Most of my Arma 3 mission ideas/script that I am currently working on are heavily inspired by this show!!! Love the show and love the appearance of authenticity!! Keep it going!!!
It's super interesting to have TG's insight on how his experience meets the showrunning/directing insides and hearing it come together as the product we see. Well done & good interview
i watched his interview on shawn ryan and fucking love him got a little emotional listening to his outrage on how marines were treated. dude doesn't give a fuuuuckkk he speaks with ethics and puts honesty above all else. true patriotism is voicing dissent and holding power accountable. that's true patriotism, and this dude is full of patriotism.
I would watch a whole day of this I swear. It was great. Also. There is a tunnel rat movie. I believe called tunnel rats. It kinda sucks though if I remember correctly. But it does really capture the claustrophobia and terror quite well.
Gentlemen , thank you. Tyler hit the tent stake on the button with the "ET". Hollyweird thinks their audience are dummies and will by any old BS they put out. We ain't. Your experiences is more current than mine (1967 to 72) I learn a lot about your era of combat from you boys. Very different from ours I watch films and yell at the tube when I see all the things they put up and have no clue that they need serious Tech Experts. I flew, when I see pilots in films two handing the cyclic or stick or yoke? and struggling to fight the controls, I laugh. OK, maybe in a C-47, Beech 18? but a fly by wire A/C? Seriously? Thanks boys, love your show and big Seal Team fan.
The three things I have noticed about Seal Team, they sometimes call out distances in yards, HALO and HAHO seem to be used interchangeably and the God awful flames on Clay’s car!!!
Of all these shows that have been out in the last 20 years that have tried to be realistic, I'm still waiting for an episode that shows an intense level of training for an operation with all the stress that goes along with it only to be stood down at the last minute. Final scene being everyone going back to work on the next mission. Always thought that would work well in this type of show.
Enjoy the show?! Check out the behind the scenes on Patreon! Thanks Everyone!

On the note of: "Vehicles that fit the job and hide your guys". A german SWAT team (SEK) did a raid, a year or two ago I think, that involved a normal commuter bus. Why? Havent watched 'Seal Team' in a minute! but was really sick too get some insight on the show! mad respect gentlemen!!
Love Seal Team, Tyler is an awesome guy. Have seen his story on a couple of podcasts.
SEAL TEAM IS MY FAVORITE SHOW OF ALL TIME
Amazing, no bs talk...Great stuff!!!!
The three things I have noticed about Seal Team, they sometimes call out distances in yards, HALO and HAHO seem to be used interchangeably and the God awful flames on Clay’s car!!!
This show is one of the main inspirations that got me on my journey to enlist. (Can't yet, but soon)
That's basically the plot of one of the Season 1 episodes.
Tyler giving the God's Honest. Once you've mastered the fundamentals, man, a room is a room is a room.
Great discussion with a new set of eyes. I hope he’s able to come back in the future.
This is crazy I just started the show and now this 🔥🔥
Tyler is f’n awesome… dude is so unfiltered
