Honest to god, I think the 3B coach knew that nobody was hitting the ball. Might as well send Stanton at that point, could’ve squeezed out a run. That being said, bro runs like how you run in your dreams
As someone who regularly watches the Yankees, this iteration of teams (from about 2019-2020 onward) has been one of the most undisciplined ones I've seen. The home runs and playoff berths mask their flaws, but these past few years have also been filled with terrible baserunning and sloppy defense. This undisciplined play is one of the main reasons why I thought they should've changed managers a while ago.
I think the organization looked around at all the teams getting success from being more aggressive on the bigger bases and forgot they’re the 2024 Yankees, a team full of players so slow that some of them cannot physically run anymore
They needed runs, had to take risks, and Stanton was only out because Teo launched a perfect throw. If that was off by two feet, he's safe. It wasn't a terrible call - probably worth the risk. Teo just made a great play.
He was out by a fraction of a second with a bad outfielder throwing. There was no offense and they needed a spark. That is a gross over exaggeration and that’s coming from a Dodger fan.
For the last decade plus, the Yankees have played an "entitled" brand of baseball. They act like they shouldn't hustle because "we're the Yankees!". Long gone are the days of gritty players and they also lack clutch performers like Bernie Williams.
Bad division, Toronto sucked as did Tampa and Boston faded. But yeah that's some sloppy base running and decisions. It's glaring when you see it in a series, that's too much to overcome.
Not so much a poor base running team as they're lazy, not gifted with speed (other than Jazz Chisholm) , and limited athletically. Watch Stanton run around third his motion is like Robocop. Most of them are borderline out of shape , even if they been given the stop sign they likely would've rolled an ankle .
@TiagoGomez-hb9te team speed is based on the median speed of the collective ( team). The starting 8 , the pitcher doesn't count for team speed, has average speed at best , want me to break it down?
@@TiagoGomez-hb9te Tiago my friend don't be mad at the messenger , but the stolen base total for the starting "8" for the Yankees was 56 , Shohei Ohtani stole 59 by himself. That's a lack of team speed. As they say. Don't hate the player, hate the game.
I would like to start off by saying sometimes the Yankees make not so smart decisions on the bases and sometimes they get unlucky. The only reason you’re able to include Stanton getting thrown out is because it was a perfect throw by Teoscar. It’s not a bad send by Luis. They were down 3-0 in the game, down 2-0 in the series they needed to try to spark some momentum. You gotta take chances if you want to win a World Series. At 1:32 you show an example of when a hit and run doesn’t work out. At 3:05 you show something called getting unlucky that ball looked like it was going to be caught. Would love to hear your thoughts
As someone who played through high school and has coached as well, I agree with your assessment. I can't stand the Yankees and would prefer to laugh at their mistakes, but I saw the same thing you did. Throughout the entire video I was wondering what the third base coach was thinking as well. For some of these coming home, that's on the third base coach to make the correct call since they can see the field, some of those I'd be walking back to the dugout telling the player that him getting out was on me. Now Jazz and Rizzo getting caught were both baserunning mistakes, Rizzo's being a little more understandable since those are tough to see.
Worst part for Yanks fans that since they won the AL penant, he isn't going anywhere soon. But I'm not a Yankees fan, so I hope they keep Boone forever! 😃
Baseball is weird like that…second guessed sport ever…they’re dumb, lazy, & desperate…that’s a shame…LA finally gets a real WS (no I’m not counting the phony half Covid season)
To be honest, this is all stuff that a team does when it’s poorly managed and there’s no real standards or discipline going on from the top down. This is now guys act/play when they know they can get away with doing whatever they want.

Hoping for a throwing or fielding error.
Yeah, like in Cable Guy when Jim Carrey is chasing the dude in his dreams.

I've seen some disgustingly lazy defensive plays from soto and torres lately and it's like wtf dude at least pretend to try.
I think Boone will finally be fired after this World Series
This is no suprise - the Yankees play HR Derby, not baseball.
Yep, that's why they have such little success against good opponents in the post season.
Same thing for the past 6 years
Thank you someone that understands
Live by the homer, die by the homer - i hate this philosophy that they have
You must be a fan of the other 30 teams who exist.
@butchmagnus6246 I'm a fan of smart teams with actual good player development not teams that buy them self to the post season

Boone having literal manager nightmares with images of Stanton, Soto, and Rizzo running and doddering the bases.
It’s not that Stanton is running slowly, the coach did wrong. HE knows about his ‘speed’
I am so fucking embarrassed of our 'baserunning'
The entire WS has been an embarrassment starting with Boone removing Cole, but it was probably Cashman and the analytic squad have him pulled.
@@therealchucktaylor3392 Did you quit watchin the game 'cause freeman hit a 2-run homerun?
How this team won 94 games is beyond me
Well, having the umps on your payroll comes in handy sometimes.

i think it was right to sen him. it took a perfect throw
Pete Rose is watching from above and shaking his head.
havent these guys been playing baseball their entire lives?

Well, at least that Stanton one, was close, and it was a sniper shot! Pretty easy could've been safe but, everything was in conspiracy,.😅
I blame the coaching. Boone is just an awful manager

Yeah there is no way Soto resigns with this dumpster fire of an organization. Nothing is changing so long as Hal is the owner.
Literally just saw Volpe not score from 2nd on a deep fly ball off CF wall 😑
Where did your recent video essay about Umpires go? (I had it on my watch list but I can’t find it anymore but I’m not sure if it was your video)

I think baserunning errors should be a stat.

It could have potentially GONE a different way.
Grade school error.
Lmao Juan Soto was lazy in SD
could have potentially GONE a different way, not "WENT"

Evidently you're not a White Sox fan buddy
It’s clear to me the Yankees don’t want to win this World Series…and I’m not even a fan (my parents are watching and I couldn’t care less).
Don't show this video to Jomboy
well he is already screaming because of the loss
Don’t criticize. I love watching Little League. Hey, batter batter batter,…and maybe they don’t pay Yankee players enough to hustle. 🤔
they've stupidly RUN into an out, not "RAN"

unfunny as shit

F Kamala Vote Trump End The Wars !!! Sweep Go Dodgers !!!
Sorry but what the hell does the 2024 election have to do with the world series lmao
