Mam, I started playing badminton only after my 30's. Your videos are the only thing that's been guiding me the last 4 months. I have happily tried this and I am trying this with my friends. Thanks a ton !!
Basically I am right handed player, and have injured my right hand wrist. I began all over with my left hand, hence I am watching your videos to rework my footwork of a left hand player. Finding some very useful instructions from your videos. Kudos coach 👍
Thank you very much! And i must say i am impressed by you just switching to the other hand... now that is true love for badminton... 👍keep enjoying badminton😁🏸
Found your chanel few days ago im a subscriber now, love the way u teaching badminton skill, after running back to front for almost 5 minutes ur still able to talk as usual without short of breathe, what a fit energetic coach😃💪
Thanks coach. I was making a mistake of using side hoping for running front as well. Rectified it and it helped a lot in covering the net after smashes.
Many thanks for your tips on running . They are very helpful. The video quality is also very good and very helpful to see from different angles. I would be interested in watching a video on doubles strategy and tactics eg. position of players. Many thanks.
Maraming salamat at nagustuhan niyo ang video. Hindi Asuncion ang original na apelyido namin kasi nung panahon ng lolo ko nagpalit sila from Ang to Asuncion 😁🏸😁🏸
Contrary to many people, moving forward was very difficult for me. Looks like I misunderstood the front court footwork with running. I was always using steps to move forward and was failing to reach on time. This makes it clear. Also, the last advice to keep your feet light is underrated. Keeping the feet light will make you more mobile and prevent injuries. Thanks a lot Kennie.
Hi Kennie, I watched all your videos, It's very helpful. Thank you so much. In upcoming videos, can you show Backhand footwork moments, Backhand clear, Backhand smash and backhand (straight and cross)court drops?
Hey ! Coach, Plz guide on the double formation, when in serve , defence and attack mode , and movements, also guide when change formation in case we are winning or losing game .plz teach tactics in formations in doubles.
Hello, Coach Kennie! As a badminton player who learned unique moves for four years, even though I'm 20, I have a problem moving backwards in a rally of badminton. Luckily, I found out that my problem is the footwork and stance and I should've let my lower body and legs face sideways and skip steps. Running backwards while having my lower body and legs face forward or turning around and run back isn't a good idea after all. I hope this video is helpful.
Hi Coach Kennie, nice to see you on your video. We met in Thailand at the Bahn Thongyord last summer. My kids are coach Toby's students. Hope you remember! :-) Can you explain / show the running backward and forward across from right corner to the left (back) corner, with the overhead forehand. My backhand is strong and i have a very bad habit of using it all the time. However, after a few strong clear, it get very tired and lost the power to clear. Recently, when play with the advance opponents, they started to notice that. So, I tried to rotate to an overhead forehand instead, but my back-step to the far-left is horrible and not fast enough. Often, when i ran back step across the court, i would mis-stepping (twist an ankle) and fail. :-(
Hello!!! And yes i remember meeting you!! I am glad to hear that though the backhand has been your habit you are still trying to change it. From the front, after you hit a forehand shot, you normally hop back 1 step with the same dominant leg in front in case another front shot comes then you’re still there but when the shuttle is already to the back on the left you turn diagonally with dominant hand and leg to the back and skip your way to the area. Do not go criss crossing your leg as you can trip and fall. (I hope i am able to explain it clearly) but will note down to make a video on it.😁🏸😁🏸 btw, have your kids continued on with badminton? 🏸🏸

Thanks a lot coach! Very usefull tips as always! Need to practice this drill. :) I have a question. What footwork to be used when you are on frontcourt backhand corner and then your going to the other corner, backcourt forehand corner and then vice versa this time, frontcourt forehand then going to backcourt backhand corner? I mean you are moving a diagonal. How to do the footwork on that scenario? Thank you!
@@CoachKennieAsuncion Skipping from front forehand corner to the rear backhand corner seems slow. It took me almost 5 - 6 skips. Or maybe i am too old for skipping. :-) The knees are getting a little wiggle when hopping.

Good video Coach 👍 I want to ask if for competitive footwork I use two step is it will injury my knee ? Because competitive very fast footwork I have use two step to in front
If you can use less steps and be there hitting it well then by all means go for it. Afterall, we are of different height and speed in movement. As long as you rerurn shots well then go for it😁🏸

@@CoachKennieAsuncion Yes, but during the game shuttle comes fast, have to run backwards , but if shuttle is lifted by opponent then have time to move as per ur prescribed method

Backrun plain and simple strains your lower back. Imagine playing the entire game where you keep bending your upper body backwards... the sideways movement distributes your weight and lessens the strain😁🏸
