- I've managed to grab a #1990s #rovermetro #carnival - In need of some tlc, this #british #icon on first glance looks to be a great purchase and well worth saving!
This week, I tackle trying to correct the vehicles ride height!...

Wow, they really hung in there with the hydro damping doohickeys.
I almost commented in the first video about a foot pump, glad you had one. Interesting to see how hydrogas suspension works and the car lifting to its correct ride height.
What a lovely little car. And they are great, like go-karts. Good to see it airing in the sun.
Ian K is already poised to tell you off 😂
Another fine BL video there Alex. And replace that rear number plate too!😂👍🏽
That's the plan!
Great job 😎
I individualised the suspension on my 114
I know eventually you will use the family specialists that you used on George, they are excellent!
Doris's engine sounds fantastic, cambelt change sounds reasonable, better safe than sorry.
Great job Alex!
Always looks better when pumped up😊
Many of us wouldn't know the spheres were knackered and would buy it as is 🙄, i never wanted a metro as my fav brand for my sins is Fiat. Simple shocks and springs on them but i feel every pebble on the road in mine 😂
Great work Alex, tidy car & Engine sounds sweet, you will soon work your magic on it
Hello Alex.....nice work on that! I've been subbed for a while now watching your videos over here in the US! I have several British classics.....one being a 93 Rover Metro 1.1C with now 16K miles!! Just a couple weeks back I tackled the same suspension pump up that you did. I had to buy a pump from the UK (none available at auto stores over here......plus no one believed me that I was going to pump a suspension up!). Keep the videos coming. Please show any part numbers on replaced parts as that might help me when I have to order from overseas. BTW, what's the story on your Peugeot...that's the first video I clicked on before subscribing and watching your others? Cheers, Julian
Your compressor will also have a fuse - often found inside the lighter plug, if you unscrew the tip.
Sadly its not the fuse, which was the second thing I tried.
Using a foot pump isn't manual labour. It's pedal labour.🐈
Good move by Rover to interlink the the front and back units, massively improved the ride over the earlier metros.. Ive owned 12 over the years, good luck looks like a pretty good one.... no doubt, the A Team will be paying you a visit from up north soon 😂
Until the pipes go and down the car goes 😂
Just subbed because you are like me, tinkering on the driveway in all weather's 😢
Legend thanks!
Make those stickers publicly available Alex! I reckon one would look great on my Mini and Moggy over here in NZ ;)
Drop me an email and I'll send you a couple! thefinallevel@hotmail.co.uk
