I like watching these tinkering vids. The more I see this little car, the nicer it looks! I think the Metro looked best in silver. After the body work is completed and repairs finished, I'm sure it'll be something that will grab attention at classic car meets, as it's not a car seen much 40 years on. It should also make a useful little runabout too.
Certainly a rather satisfying-looking job seeing the car rise up, reminds me of my dad having to bodge his Metro's rear suspension up with a footpump dunked in a bucket of anti-freeze in order to drive it to the local garage (a very short drive, but with many petrol tank-destroying bumps in the road) for them to repair it, sadly he sold it not long after, he does that, when a car develops a fault, he gets it fixed and moves it on, never understood that about him... :P
That actually looked like a go to guide. When you said 32cm I questioned it but the result looked how I remember them. 28cm looked nice over those wheels though.
If you're interested the channel, Alex's Assets shows an Austin Allegro having this done to it. Alex is a mechanic and has just recently released a detailed video on pumpimg up and maintaing hydragas systems.
Looks good with the suspension pumped up (done a few myself over the years --- mini, allegro and princess), have always thought if a pump, tank and control system was added to the suspension setup would it be the same as Citroens or could it be made to perform like the U.S. custom lowriders (modern custom systems used compressed air, but the old system were hydraulic)?
En dansker der roder med en metro. Cool.
Brings back great memories of my dad pumping up his suspension. Then he take me out for a driving lesson.

It is really growing on me as well... !
The little Metro is coming together! I loved the simplicity of the pumping tool...like an old bottle jack.

Thanks for this. Really handy video. Picked up one a few weeks back and a bit down at the back end. Great stuff and a huge help. Many thanks.

32 seemed like a lot when I started for sure!
I remember seeing the suspension pump in most tyre fitting garages in the UK 🇬🇧

Yes it would be pretty similar of a pump was fitted i guess.. :)
Ally Cats are glorious
I really like them!
Thanks
Thank you!! :D
Great fun ….and you get to do it all over again on the princess, talking of which….any joy on suspension pipes for it?
No pipes yet... still searching!
Have you ever had issues with squeaking suspension? After pumping mine, it developed a squeaky noise going over any bumps in the road.
no.. but have not drivien the car yet...
But could it be dry suspension shafts maybe?

Det er en sjov lille bil. :)
Pover Metro 115?
