This evening jolted us with another crime from the IDF. A Palestinian man being sniffed by stray dogs as he lay in his pool of blood. The Israelis had taken pot shots at him while he was trying to salvage a bag of food following an American airdrop. He tried to dodge the bullets of the IDF but aim from Israeli snipers got him. He was captured on camera crawling to the food bag. When he managed to get on his feet they shot him again. His desperation for food must have been for his family to eat something. May be a child he knew was starving. May be an old relative or a nursing mother needed food. Most likely he too was hungry. We will never know for sure what was his desperation to risk everything. The full footage was captured and shown by Al Jazeera. The footage stopped when the hungry dogs approached. May be he was still alive while the scavenging dogs smelt his blood. None of the Western news outlet have shown the footage nor acknowledged it. The BBC or the Sky did not pick it up to ask a Western politician of this. Which country provided the guns used by the IDF; was it UK or USA; was it Germany, France or Canada …? May be the Western media was playing it’s public duty to keep the trauma out of public gaze. More likely the Western media is trying to peddle their narratives to give some level of respectability to anything genocidal against Muslims and Islam. In the past a prominent British media outlet had admitted that they had doctored footage as per their ‘policy’ by ‘sanitizing’ children crying so as not to give ‘one-sided sympathy’ to Bosnian Muslims being slaughters by Serbs in 1992 genocidal war. Not really, the definition of genocide hinges on intention. Hamas intention of wiping out Israel is clear, the IDF's intention to defend Israel civilians against genocidal threats is not genocide. One can argue they are making terrible mistakes along the way, but there is not a genocidal intent. The hospitals, schools being bombed are fair game because Hamas uses them for military purposes against the Geneva convention law.

This evening jolted us with another crime from the IDF. A Palestinian man being sniffed by stray dogs as he lay in his pool of blood. The Israelis had taken pot shots at him while he was trying to salvage a bag of food following an American airdrop. He tried to dodge the bullets of the IDF but aim from Israeli snipers got him. He was captured on camera crawling to the food bag. When he managed to get on his feet they shot him again. His desperation for food must have been for his family to eat something. May be a child he knew was starving. May be an old relative or a nursing mother needed food. Most likely he too was hungry. We will never know for sure what was his desperation to risk everything.
The full footage was captured and shown by Al Jazeera. The footage stopped when the hungry dogs approached. May be he was still alive while the scavenging dogs smelt his blood. None of the Western news outlet have shown the footage nor acknowledged it.
The BBC or the Sky did not pick it up to ask a Western politician of this. Which country provided the guns used by the IDF; was it UK or USA; was it Germany, France or Canada …?
May be the Western media was playing it’s public duty to keep the trauma out of public gaze. More likely the Western media is trying to peddle their narratives to give some level of respectability to anything genocidal against Muslims and Islam. In the past a prominent British media outlet had admitted that they had doctored footage as per their ‘policy’ by ‘sanitizing’ children crying so as not to give ‘one-sided sympathy’ to Bosnian Muslims being slaughters by Serbs in 1992 genocidal war. At the time their argument was that the ‘absence of footage’ of Serbs being slaughtered meant that they had to doctor the footage of Serbs bombing markets and mosques in Sarajevo so as the ‘balance’ the narrative.
Clearly there is a collective media attempt to convince us that genocide of Muslims, be it Bosnia, Libya, CAR, India, Myanmar or Israel is done as ‘mistakes in war’ as no pro-Western ally ever takes pot shots at defenceless & hungry men, women & children.

It pains me to have to admit this but anti-Semitism isn't just tolerated in some sections of the British Muslim community; it's routine and commonplace. Any Muslims reading this article - if they are honest with themselves - will know instantly what I am referring to. It's our dirty little secret. You could call it the banality of Muslim anti-Semitism.
Growing up, I always assumed that this obsession with 'the Jews' was a hallmark of the 'first-generation' immigrants from the subcontinent. In recent years, I've been depressed to discover that there are plenty of 'second-generation' Muslim youths, born and bred in multiracial Britain, who have drunk the anti-Semitic Kool-Aid. I'm often attacked by them for working in the "Jewish owned media".
The truth is that the virus of anti-Semitism has infected members of the British Muslim community, both young and old. No, the on-going Israel-Palestine conflict hasn't helped matters. But this goes beyond the Middle East. How else to explain why British Pakistanis are so often the most ardent advocates of anti-Semitic conspiracies, even though there are so few Jews living in Pakistan?
It is sheer hypocrisy for Muslims to complain of Islamophobia in every nook and cranny of British public life, to denounce the newspapers for running Muslim-baiting headlines, and yet ignore the rampant anti-Semitism in our own backyard. We cannot credibly fight Islamophobia while making excuses for Judaeophobia.
To be honest, I've always been reluctant to write a column such as this. To accuse my fellow Muslims of being soft on the scourge of anti-Semitism isn't easy; I feel as if I am 'dobbing in' the community, telling tales to the non-Muslim teacher. Nor do I particularly want to assist the English Defence League in its relentless campaign to demonise all Muslims, everywhere, as extremists and bigots.
We aren't. And we're not all anti-Semites. But, as a community, we do have a 'Jewish problem'. There is no point pretending otherwise. That Bradford's Council for Mosques has been campaigning to save the city's last remaining synagogue from closure doesn't change the fact that thousands of British Muslims will have been nodding in agreement as they read Lord Ahmed's comments about Jewish power and influence - or will have assumed that the Times scoop is evidence in its own right of a 'Zionist plot' against the peer. Oh, and I'm well aware that this column will also be held up by some of my fellow Muslims as "proof" that "Mehdi Hasan has sold out to the Jews".
I only hope and pray that Lord Ahmed's comments will act as a wake-up call to Britain's moderate Muslim majority. The time has come for us to own up to a rather shameful fact: Muslims are not only the victims of racial and religious prejudice but purveyors of it, too.

I think the problem is Piers is only focused on Oct 7th instead of the big picture of the Israel Palestine conflict which has been going on for decades.

The Jews were living in exile for most of their history, they originated as an organised group in Egupt under slavery for the most part. Predating Islam? You mean the last prophet of Islam-because Islam and Islamic tradition stretches back to Adam, who is considered a Muslim (meaning one who submits themselves to the Oneness of God). Christians requires the figure of Christ to be Christian, Jews require a Jewish heritage from a Jewish mother to be a Jew, Muslims don't require none of that.
The Phoenicians were believed to be of Greek origin, not the Philistinians. The area was already inhabited by Middle Easterners and tribes of Shem way before any barbaric Grecans/Romans set foot on the land. To correct you further: the land's original name was Canaan, which is where the Canaanites live - a Middle Eastern group. The Canaanites were massacred mostly by the Hebrews or old Jews but many survived, fled, or left. The Canaanites descended into modern day Palestinians and southern Lebanese. The kingdom of Judah collapsed shortly after and they went into exile AGAIN and lived as diaspora. Plus, the enemies of the Jews were primarily the Amalek (the Jews were already defeated by the Romans anyway before being exiled).
The Greeks that set foot into the Middle East were very few and weak people, so much so that they introduced Middle Eastern admixture to the Grecan lands. Which explains why a lot of Greeks look more Middle Eastern than European. Majority of the claims of events tagged as Grecan were actually Persian. The Greeks and Romans aren't even native to the land with their pink skintones getting sunburnt 24/7; traders from ancient Syria, Arabia, Yemen, Iraq spoke with these people and had very similar language and facial features to the Palestine natives (which is clearly not Greek, although it was heavily derived from Middle Eastern languages).
The Hebrew language had died for almost 2000 years. It was only revived in the 20th century during the birth of the Zionist movement. And its revival is mostly accredited to the continued existence of Arabic, everything before then was mostly broken forms such as Yiddish. Eventually enough Eastern Europeans converted to Judaism like the Khazars and they felt the need to have their own state especially during World War II. In fact majority of modern Jews are of Eastern European descent with no Middle Eastern/Egyptian heritage
