Griot is a no brainer. I apply it about once every few weeks. Keep it layered. Car looks brilliant. I Rinse with Tec582 undiluted in a foam canon set on a lower setting. Let is sit a few minutes, blow it off with a blower and wipe dry. The Tec582 as a rinse agent is amazing. The car literally beads an dries before your eyes.
Awesome update! I have the Griots on my truck that I applied last November and it’s still going strong. 💪 DIY Water Spot remover certainly does help it.
Perfect timing. Probably trading the Camaro for a GR corolla this week and its going to be a daily and trying to pick what I want to use coating wise on it. I am leaning towards BC7
No-Hype 1 is straight up Gangster for the price! I am impressed by it. It’s been performing great with all this rainy weather we’ve been having in the South!
I’m starting to agree with so many that it’s a hard sell to clients that are not on a regular maintenance program and you know are not going to look after it. As we are seeing so many coatings get clogged after a month or so
I was thinking this myself. We had waxes and sealants for so long. Along come coatings, that some can last up to 10 years when maintained properly. After a road trip the coating is clogged and requires a decon wash and hand wash. So where’s the real advantage? Not everyone wants or has the time to put that much effort in. I love detailing cars and apply ceramic coatings as well. After watching all these vids with clogged coatings it make me question them?
🐦🔥🥃 Someone call the Bird Man! 🐦🔥🥃 Everything is looking great, crazy that Griot's is still hanging on like that. Have you ever thought about redoing a section with DB36 now that you've refined your testing process? Mine is still going strong after 9 months with just rinseless, a couple BH Touch-Less pre-washes and zero toppers. The hood got tagged by a rogue sprinkler, but DIY WSR took care of it with no ill effect to the coating.
I’ve had my db36 on my car for almost 2 years now. Side panels are really strong, upper surfaces are pretty dead now. WSR brings them back a little, but they go to slow sheeters not beading like the side panels. Diamond glass on my rear windshield been on for almost 2 years as well, still looking great. Lasted on the front windshield about 15 months before starting to slow down, and I polished it off and applied a different coating. I’ll note as well that the application was FAR from ideal. It was my first time polishing and coating, and I did not wipe off all the polish residue before applying
Hi Jamie, maybe too much to ask, but the day you decide to clear these coatings off your car - could we get a video of that process?❤ Maybe title it “taking it off with Jamie” I don’t know
Griots is strong. should try AM Derails hybrid ceramic spray. it's very similar to griots and cits water based too I got 7 months and it's just starting to break down after like 12 washes
The glass coatings seem disappointing. I didn’t like the tackiness or sliding angle but Diamond Glass gave me legit 12+ months on two cars with heavy wiper use and one car had zero maintenance. Literally never washed it. Was their only product that worked well for me.
If there was one thing I could change about Diamond Glass it would be the sliding angle/speed break. Excellent coating otherwise, but you have to be going at least 45-50 with a clean windshield to get it to move much and 55+ to get it to move well. It does seem pretty durable, but my wife has beaten the coating on her windshield almost into submission in about 5 months (mine is going strong at 9 months). She flips on the BMW auto wipers at the slightest hint of a mist with no washer fluid and lets them grind off the coating. Next up for her windshield is CCI Glass vs C6 Hydro Glass. My Diamond Body 36 coating is outstanding so far with zero toppers. Just an occasional alkaline prewash and rinseless contact wash. The wheel coating is putting up a good fight against Armour Detail Supply Wheel coating in two different side by side tests. it clogs a little easier but DIY WSR brings it right back.
I had diamond glass on my windshield for 15 months before it started to slow down, and I polished it off and put another coating on. I put it on my dad’s truck and it’s dying now at about the 6 month mark because of heavy wiper usage
@@ethanblan435 yeah I don't think there are many coatings that can withstand heavy wiper use. I don't think CCI or C6 are going to hold up to my wife either, so I'm going to be on the hunt for a cheap and easy to apply option with a good speed break that I can just continually reapply.
@@jeffc6832 for sure. I’d look into that glaco one. Doesn’t seem like it would cure in the bottle and easy enough to just apply it every 3 months or so
I want to see what the Aaron guy has to say about this test. He doesn't seem to take criticism very well, and inmortal failing so bad it's a hit. Another TH-camr would this a hit piece. Lol
@ethanblan435 Yes, and the coatings in the other side are way more hardcore coatings and tbh they should look like nxtzen does after 1 week after 1 year.
Honest question. So for all most of ceramics you used.why do we tell Clients that it will Last the longevity/duration of 1-2 years, 8 months, one month? when in reality they last less than a week or road trip. some people think ceramic coatings are a sham and overpriced.. -griots won!
It's dependent on so many things. Mainly coatings getting clogged with mineral deposits, road film etc etc. A month and half of not washing my car and it looked like 1 year old Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra had completely failed even after a contact wash. 2 foam cannon applications of Gyeon Restart wash and it completely came back to life. And imo it's extremely important to use a quality Topper on a coated car mixed with proper maintenance. If you coat a customers car and they're going through an automatic brush car wash 2 times a week then forget about it. Doesn't matter what you apply. Proper washing and maintenence with the right products and you'll get some durability out of a properly applied coating.
@@thinkforyourself5672 Agreed completely except on one point. I don't think coatings should be topped unless it is with the designated topper from the coating manufacturer, and only when the hydrophobicity of the well-cleaned coating starts to drop off due to weathering. Toppers mask the coating properties and can actually bind up minerals and other contaminants onto the coating and make them harder to remove from the surface. A coating with no toppers is much easier to fully clean with a minimum of chemicals.
I have a mental block when trying to explain ceramic coatings cost versus performance. It all comes down to user driving conditions and maintenance. Jamie is doing good at keeping all surfaces cleaned on a regular basis but can prove how stuff does impact all products.
Right so how do you tell the client they have to pay something like $500-1500 for a ceramic coAting ,or topper. that MIGHT be good after a few months. If treated correctly. Most guys tell the client.apply it once and dont have to wax or do anything for 1 year etc. and most people get cars detailed once a month or so.. its tricky for me to sell it because idk if i believe in it. Also all have done Thag instill maintenan i do see the hydrophobic and slickness But the ones i don’t maintain i always think that they feel Like they got ripped or something..
How do you keep track of what coating is where? I’d have to create a diagram 😊😂

This was a great update. Thank you for all the hard work. That cheap no hype coatings are killing it.
Thanks for the update

Jamie, on your next back door test please try Stoner Hybrid Ceramic spray detailer. For what is worth it really works for me. 🇨🇦👍👍
I appreciate you Jamie, mad props to you man! Let me get a "hells yeah" for the no hype 1! What a great bang for the buck! 🍻

Griot's vs Collinite Beadcoat please. Beadcoat was picked as best water-based spray sealant by Forensic Detailing.
ok so right now if you had to pick a ceramic coating Jamie which one would you pick? no fence sitting
Beadcoat lasts a long time but it’s not slick at all and it’s not good as far as gloss is concerned either.
@@miggs80 Forensic Detailing rated the gloss to be high, with 89.4 on the glossmeter with Beadcoat (vs 85.1 before applying Beadcoat)
