IMO Kick Buttowski was cancelled because Season 2 started having disturbing elements which could scare young audiences, leading to low levels in audiences. (No joke, a few did scare me when I was younger ESPECIALLY that Detained episode) Otherwise, it would be amazing to see a Season 3, along with Randy Cunningham. Not a big fan of MML though.
The Ninjanomicon not using _real_ Japanese writing actually makes sense, even if unintentionally, as ninja clans would devise their own secret code languages to guard their secrets. So "looks like a bunch of badly written kana at a glance, doesn't make sense if you actually try reading it as the nearest visually matching glyphs" works.
Also kinda make sense since the ninjanomicon takes wisdom from the past ninjas. And the past ninjas lately are American teens that knows nothing about Asia
Few things I enjoyed of this show: The Ninjanomicon style for each of its lessons looked different because each one was written by a different Ninja down the line. Another thing, because the Ninja is a title passed down along the years, people already know about the Ninja and theres a lot of fans in the student body.
Yeah I enjoyed the world building a lot. Sadly it always gave me a feeling if "they could do more with this!" but at 13 I was just starting to age out of it's demographic
Can I say that if they did actually put readable text, it would take so long to have it say actual stuff, especially for scenes that aren’t too long. And if they did put random gibberish, the people who can read it would be kinda upset. Looks like it to us Americans, and it doesn’t upset people who would be able to read it, and also to blurble blabble things in there and have a life. Helps that you can write a reason to have a life too.

The ninjanomicon would attempt to teach Randy a "ninja lesson" at the start of an episode, but he'd only understand it during the climax, and that's what would help him save the day. It allows for great story set-ups and pay-offs, with Randy trying to understand the lesson throughout an episode but accidentally running into trouble while doing so. But more importantly, in my opinion, some the ninjanomicon's teachings aren't just applicable to the ways of the ninja, but to the ways of life in general, and its format is one that can more easily have its lessons stick into the minds of its viewers, even if they don't realize it.
This show and Motorcity is what I remember fondly of early Disney XD once they took over Jetix. Also Ben is so good as Randy and its kinda sad people who are fans of his other voice work doesnt remember the ninja! idk if you'll cover them but TMNT 2012 is one of my personal favorites lol
I loved this show as a kid. I love how the two main characters aren’t unbearably annoying. The humor was so dumb yet worked really well for what character was saying it. I love how everything just seemed to work so well together in this show and i’m honestly still shook and upset that it only got two seasons.
In the Duck Tales reboot Ben played Dewey. At Dark Wing lair, Dewey was given smoke bombs and said the word every time he through it. That monument gave me so much joy.
I'm pretty sure this was intenational; just like they made Ben Schwartz shout "It's the woooorst" as Sonic referencing his role as Jean Ralphio. These sorts of easter eggs are absolutely stellar
I loved this show as a kid and I realize that it felt very much so like what a teenager would day dream about. The cultural appropriation kinda fits thematically since American High Schoolers, even today, love Japanese media but often put little effort into learning about the culture that made the media. Usually that happens later in life, especially in college where they can take in depth courses to learn about it easily. But as a teen with no real care for anything outside finding friends and things to enjoy that aren't purely acedmic, it makes sense.
Honestly I really liked this show, it really did take that typical teenager dream of wanting to have superpowers and being a main character; Used to watch it along with that one other show that was just about a ghost that only few people see cause he's only seen depending on if that person is wearing a specific item on them or not since I remember it having a somewhat similar artstyle (although it's so long ago now that I don't actually remember it correctly past that premise)
What got me to watch Randy Cunningham was because I'd recently discovered and watched Invader Zim on Nicktoons, and then I noticed that this new show coming out looked very similar to the iconic art style. I used to love watching it! I absolutely remember the look of the vampire guy (and having a crush on him, but that's beside the point).
God I loved this show as a kid. Randy and Howard had such a good chemistry and seemed like genuine kids and a tight friendship (flaws and fights included). Never totally cared about the monster fighting tbh, it felt like that was the filler to whatever drama Randy and Howard were experiencing at the time. Maybe I cared more about their school life because I was going through similar experiences in middle/high school, but man this show is a strong childhood memory for me
I remember watching this show when I was a kid and it literally predicted me to apparently having interest on Shinobi/Ninja and japanese culture sometimes thanks to Naruto. Teenagers that turns into monsters because of their emotions did well more than Miraculous Ladybug.
Coincidentally the show came out when I was starting high school too. Loved watching this show when it came on and constantly played the first 2 flash games CONSTANTLY whenever I got on the computer.
Gosh I was obsessed with this show in middle school, I remember being sad it suddenly got removed from being streamed on Disney XD only to later find it on Disney plus again like a few years later. I loved the animation and the small snipets of the creators just going all out on the project. I’d definitely check it out if a third season ever came out!
When this show aired I was currently in High School trying to find myself. I was either in clubs, with friends, or on dates. When I would have free time for myself I'd be playing videos games. I think I only watched 1-2 episodes on TV but I never thought it was something I NEEDED to watch.
When I first saw the commercial for it, I was like "Oh god, it's gonna be one of THOSE shows" and the Pilot didn't help as much as I wanted it to. But As I watched more and more episodes, I began to love it. I thought the concept was actually new and different, the humor had pretty solid moments, the character interactions were great and I loved it as a whole. It actually FELT different and I wished Disney didn't cancel it or shut it down (or whatever they did to not go through with another Season).
one of the best shows when i was younger rewatched it recently and it certainly still holds up though the lack of a 3rd season is frustrating, i mean where did the orbs even come from and is there even more aside from the sorcerers and sorceress green and pink ones
This is one of those shows you watch a couple of times when it airs, then it seems to get lost to the sands of time. Until someone online makes a video about it, then you think "oh yeah that was a show that existed "😅
It's wild 18 flash games, character designer of Jhonen Vasquez, a Star Studded voice cast.... and I've still never heard of this show. In most cases with this series of videos I have at least heard the name of the show or watched a episode or two, but this one I honestly never heard of it.
i love that jhonen is the character designer !! i always loved his art style and it goes to show that it can work in a darker story (johnny the homicidal maniac) and something that’s literally a disney show!
i remember particularly liking julien from this show??? there were some pretty fun monster designs in this show too - i didn’t watch a lot of it, but it’s sad to hear it only got two seasons. as a naruto kid, i went as a ninja for halloween maybe 4-5 years in a row so if this had come out just a few years earlier, i probably would have been a pretty big fan
This show was my childhood and I still re-watch it almost every month. I have a lot to thank this series for. And I wouldn't be the same person I am today without it. I would love to have a season 3, but the series still, even with the cliffhanger is absolute gold. And great to re-watch marathon style every so often :D
I was really interested in this when it was first released but finally started to watch it. Currently halfway through it on Disney+ and so far I'm loving it, even though I'm pretty sure it's missing an episode or 2.
I remember watching this, some weird show about racing dragons with a body swap episode, (yes really that's the episode that sticks out in my mind cause it was so, so weird.) And of course another show that Disney did called Slugterra. Which is honestly slept on as a franchise, if your reading this go check it out. Point is, ya this is one of those shows I watched growing up, and I blame it for getting studio trigger energy and everything that animation studio does.
Sounds like this show came out right after I stopped watching television- but damn does it look interesting! I'd definitely be willing to sit down and watch the series, and I'm sure if I did, I'd be looking for more. It looks like it would be right up my alley for casual watching!
This show was so fucking Goated, how has nobody made a badass ninja like Randy in another cartoon yet? His scarf being like Spider-man's webs is honestly genius and the ninja nomicon was such a cool concept
I would certainly like the show to be continued or at least given a proper ending/conclusion. While I know that many fans would like to see a 3rd season, I wouldn't mind seeing the show concluded with a feature film either.
Something I find really neat is that when Ben Schwartz went on to voice Leonardo in Rise of the TMNT, he actually pulled in a lot of Randy’s specific speech quirks that he only used in that role. Above all else, my man keeps his Ninjas consistent, and I can respect that.
I actually watched that show last year. It was mostly good, sometimes just okay, but it was mostly awesome. And that cliffhanger for the final episode was sad to never see it go forward.
Definitely one of my childhood favorite shows from Disney XD. I’m really unsure if it has a chance of coming back, but I think a special(similar to Enter the Florpus or Static Cling) where it has Randy go through his final battle and pass down the ninja suit and nomicon down to a worthy successor would be a great way to end off the series as a whole.
I always wanted to watch this because I heard that Jhonen Vasquez had something to do with the show. Also I think there was a Ninja Turtles run on Nickelodeon that was made by or the character designs were by JV. I love that dudes work. Never got to catch those other shows he had a hand in, only zim and his earlier, crazier comics. JTHM, I Feel Sick, Squee, etc. Awesome artist.
I don't think Vasquez was involved in Rise of the TMNT, but this show and Randy Cunningham do have Ben Schwartz in common. Playing a teenage ninja with red markings on his face for both shows.
Ikr and the voice cast is amazing! I was surprised to see he didn’t mention flute girl and Azusa from ATLA also share a VA. It shocked me when I found out because both RC9GN and ATLA were my favourite shows as a kid. That lady has an impressive range!
Giving it some thought, I can't really say there's any series in particular I'd like to see covered on this channel; I just generally want to see plenty more Fringe content for a long time to come!
Bro you are reviving my childhood literally. Randy Cunningham is one of my childhood, we use to watch it after school everyday. Even saved videos of episodes.
I remember seeing the title on the guide, but I never watched it because I had aged out of the demographic. However, if I would have known that the creator of Invader Zim drew for it, I probably would have given it a shot. I might go looking for it after I am done watching some stuff.
omg thank you THANK YOU! i absolutely want it to come back, even if it's just a movie like Invader Zim did. Now in thr topic of cancelled shows, could you talk about "Dude, that's my ghost?" another show that was not enough valorated, and was really fun to watch (not as much as rc9gn, but it was also a pretty rad show, its even shorter than randy, counting with 25 episodes of two segments each one)
Hey man, great video. This show was the first time I saw ninjas and thought it was cool. I don’t know if you take recommendations but I would love to see a video on TRON: Uprising. Great story, acting and animation. Have a nice day!
Randy cunninham and adventure time is so impressive verbally since they were both able to form their own slang and somehow have to make sense not in a "How do you do fellow kids" type way.

Is the ghost show “Dude, that’s my ghost”? It matches your description, you can check out the episodes on TH-cam though!
@@tinaco4815 Sheeesh, yeah that's the one! Surprised somebody actually still remembered it lol
@@BlankedOutSlate haha yeah,, let’s say that I’m a person who likes watching lesser known cartoons
I don't think they were a vampire just really goth
@@demothiguillermo2059 He was dramatic and an aloof emo, that's all I needed lmao
Your channel is the best. I keep reliving my childhood over and over again
Appreciate the kind words and support!
Before becoming an official kinda turtld and a speeding blue hedgehog In the movie business, this was still Ben's special hidden gem.
I really need to watch this show all the way through. I like the twists and turns it chooses to make that I've only seen glimpses of.
one of the best shows when i was younger rewatched it recently and it certainly still holds up though the lack of a 3rd season is frustrating, i mean where did the orbs even come from and is there even more aside from the sorcerers and sorceress green and pink ones
I most definitely remember this show. It was one of my favorite shows during my childhood
i love that jhonen is the character designer !! i always loved his art style and it goes to show that it can work in a darker story (johnny the homicidal maniac) and something that’s literally a disney show!
I never realized there were so many talented voice actors in this!
Remember?
I never stopped watching it.
Glad It's getting more respect 🙌🏾
An absolute top tier show, I hope it comes back some day. It's been making some round on TH-cam from the algorithm
The biggest thing I learn from this channel is that 2000s cartoons really loved their adobe flash.
Canada has a lot of flash animated shows lol:
@@okjeffy6581 I was referring to the stream of flash games, actually
i remember particularly liking julien from this show??? there were some pretty fun monster designs in this show too - i didn’t watch a lot of it, but it’s sad to hear it only got two seasons. as a naruto kid, i went as a ninja for halloween maybe 4-5 years in a row so if this had come out just a few years earlier, i probably would have been a pretty big fan
This show was my childhood and I still re-watch it almost every month. I have a lot to thank this series for. And I wouldn't be the same person I am today without it. I would love to have a season 3, but the series still, even with the cliffhanger is absolute gold. And great to re-watch marathon style every so often :D
I loved this show it made me love the voice of Ben in his future projects I hear him as all of them they put heart into this show
I was really interested in this when it was first released but finally started to watch it.
Is the show about racing dragons calles Dragon Booster?
I also watched this episode where there is a “monster drill”. And the trombone character cuts a hole shaped like him and crashes through the wall.
Facts.
I’d love a third season. I watch this on repeat, almost every time on Disney+😅
there are petition to get season 3
@@sitizulaikha5194 do petitions even work? I mean in the end of Disney doesn't want to make a new season it won't, right? Unless I'm missing something
Thanks for covering this show, it’s definitely one of my all time favorite cartoons especially one made for a Disney channel.
I loved this show when it came out and I still do I actually just finished rewatching it recently sucks they left it on a cliffhanger tho
I loved this show, the art and the characters are super fun and I always wanted to see more
If this show returns im up for it!!!
Speaking of ninjas…I would love to see Jordan cover Ninjago (especially due to the fact that the show it’s still going 11 years later)
The show was fine, concept was great, monster designs were phenomenal.
I forgot about this show, I love it.
Thank you for the nostalgia
I am literally watching the whole series on Disney Plus and I still love it
I loved it and sad why it not..finished
@@agent6bell I know it's really sad but hey there's one guy trying to bring it back with a petition
I love this show! I would definitely watch a 3rd season! I even signed the petition immediately after being created! 😁
I loved this show sooooo much and I just couldn’t stop rewatching it since last 2020
Definitely one of my childhood favorite shows from Disney XD. I’m really unsure if it has a chance of coming back, but I think a special(similar to Enter the Florpus or Static Cling) where it has Randy go through his final battle and pass down the ninja suit and nomicon down to a worthy successor would be a great way to end off the series as a whole.
Are you kidding me?
THIS WAS MY CHILDHOOD
this show was my entire life as a kid, i have GOT to rewatch it
This is easily one of Disney XD best shows, seriously how could they stop making this, especially with a total cliffhanger.
Will this show have a comeback of its very own kind? Who's knows?
Randy Cunningham 10th grade Ninja
Yes I fricken do! I watched this show in 2020 and loved it! Loads of fun, very unique animation style
Oh my god dude, I loved this stuff. Peak childhood memories. I love you dude
I actually went back and watched it earlier this year, I genuinely enjoyed it.
Man i loved this show as a kid, i remember always wanting lego to make sets of it
Lego Disney TV sub theme?
And will we ever see a chance to make it happen in light of Ninjago finally being done? Maybe, maybe.
literally one of my favorite cartoons of all time its always made me upset that its not talked about more
I used to love this show as a kid, and id like to see more of it
I loved this show so much, i used to have a dedicated tumblr blog and all.
Fun show, i do hope the show returns someday
About time you talk about this, this show is underrated.
Oh yeah, I remember this show.
I really loved it when I was a little kid.
I really wanna thank you man, you just unlocked memories I didn't even think I still had
*That and making me feel like a goddamn fossil*
I absolutely loved this show as a little kid and then when my family actually got Disney+ I rewatched it twice and it is just as good as I remember.
Dude its always a rare treat whenever you cover a show ive never even heard of. Great video Jordan! Btw I loved the "young emo Jordan" cameo
This show deserves a comeback with a new season
omg thank you THANK YOU!
i absolutely want it to come back, even if it's just a movie like Invader Zim did.
Now in thr topic of cancelled shows, could you talk about "Dude, that's my ghost?"
another show that was not enough valorated, and was really fun to watch (not as much as rc9gn, but it was also a pretty rad show, its even shorter than randy, counting with 25 episodes of two segments each one)
I LOVED rc9gn growing up, this show is pure nostalgia. Hard to believe this is over 10 years old..
I had entire episodes of this show memorized back then
you unlocked a key memory of my childhood. this was one of my favorite shows how did i forget about it 🤦🏼♂️
Hey man, great video. This show was the first time I saw ninjas and thought it was cool.
I don’t know if you take recommendations but I would love to see a video on TRON: Uprising. Great story, acting and animation. Have a nice day!
Thanks so much! For sure will cover Tron: Uprising at some point, love the whole world of Tron!
@@JordanFringe94 great, can’t wait to see it!
Ive been waiting so long for someone to talk about this great show. Im in the middle watching it again right now
Randy cunninham and adventure time is so impressive verbally since they were both able to form their own slang and somehow have to make sense not in a "How do you do fellow kids" type way.
My favorite cartoon, it means a lot for me, my childhood and my dreams about the future. l wish the creators could make a new season. I would definetly watch it on the day it comes to disney plus.
