I remembered looking at that last picture of the video how Dennis Weaver seemed to tower over everyone in the TV show "McCloud", and yet looked so short next to Dillon.
Right? Dennis was no shrimp, and in fact was a 6'2" athlete who almost made the Olympics as a decathlete, but Arness, too, was bigger than he appeared on screen as Gunsmoke would often shoot him with creative filming angles to conceal his true height.

Not unpopular, atall. Dennis was a very handsome man! An imposing figure, too, at 6'2" though anyone who was struck by his height would have been put at ease by his sweetness, charm and beautiful smile.

I agree with you 100%! I always thought he was sooo handsome and charming especially when he starred in McCloud.
I watch Gunsmoke every day as long as Matt and Chester are staring .. Can't stand Festus. He is too stupid for my mentality.

Love Chester, but I could never take to Festus. I like Ken Curtis well enough though in other projects he did.
