It just might be the best show on television. After seeing this show, I have yet to find any western that can measure up to it. I really can see why it was so popular for so long. Glad you liked the video.
I have had the privilege to walk that walk carried a gun and badge..in 32 years that weapon stay holstered ..I used command and presence to direct people to drop it right there...yes I carried a six shooter 357 Taurus as the years moved...on..every one went with 9mm Glock 17/ 19 ..rounds..James Arness as Matt Dillon..the best of the best.
i lost a really good friend when he died he and my grandpa knew each other and james saved my grandpas life a few times and same with grandpa he save james life a few time but they where good friend R.I.P Grandpa R.I.P James Arness
Thank You Kaps505, For This Great Tibute To Mr JAMES ARNESS.His Role Of MARSHALL MAT DILLION Is About Good Over Wrong. Also The Greatest TV Show About The Aultimate Kick Ass Tall In The Saddle Don't Take Crap From Anyone His Own Man. R.I.P. Peace.
It is nice to hear that James Arness is still active and doing so well. Gunsmoke is such a timeless show that it is hard to believe so much time has passed. As for other classic stars, I do know that Ty Hardin from Bronco (the western that got me hooked) is still around. He even has his own website.
@burpingbob That was from the first episode "Matt gets". Gunsmoke was advertised as a different take on westerns. so on the fist episode they had him lose his first on screen gunfight to an "unbeatable" gunman. He spends weeks recovering and bravely challenges the guy again, this time armed with the knowledge of the gunman's one major flaw.
Well done Kap. The song really fits with your scene montage. Can you believe James Arness is now 85 years old and going strong! Who's left from this era? James Garner, Clint Eastwood, James Drury, Stuart Whitman... Can you think of any others that are still alive?
descansa en paz james arness video muy bueno pero una critica con respeto cada epoca tiene su musica le pusieras musica de su epoca video perfecto eso es como recordar elvis presley tributo con musica de regeaton no la hace .nada gracias
@Zoider2395 Are you talking about the scene with Doc trying to check a wound on Matt's arm. It's "How to kill a friend" I think. It was the episode the got mixed up on the DVD release. Just so you know, the guy on the ground is not Chester.
Excellent tribute. I'm not a Green Day fan but I think this song works really well - the lyrics are very fitting. Good work! What episode is 3:09 - 3:16 from?
@heatherssj1 You mean the part were Matt points a gun at the guy? I don't remember the exact episode. I think it was the one were he went to a neighboring town to catch a wanted man and found that the guy had reformed and was running the town.
When Miss Kitty (Amanda Blake) quit, if they would have put in Ruta Lee or Ruby Lee ( Her name won't come to me now, but you GSAddicts know who I mean ) in for her, the show would have gone on until Doc ( Milburn Stone ) passed on !!! They just could have taken their time and come up with another really good "Sam". The gal I'm talking about is a sultry-looking blondie who was on 3-4-maybe even a half-dozen times over the years; Good Gal-Bad Gal, but always good. That's assuming Doc went b-4 Festus, but you folks know what I mean !!!
Best show on TV. Timeless

Play by Ear, Rene Lee
Great show! We need peace officers like this now!
Except the govt officials would stiffle him today.
As they do now with our police.
Dems love lawlessness. Diversion from their take over.

no reason. I just started watching this show and am really enjoying it.
James arness was always handsome but as he aged, he got even better looking. My first love. Yes, I'm that old.

excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The writers should have had Matt and Miss Kitty get married in the last episode. After all, she waited for 20 years...
They should remake this show
Song starts at 0:20
@Kaps505 REST IN PEACE MATT DILLON, AS DODGE CITY WILL NOT BE THE SAME WITHOUT YOU, ANY MORE. RIP BIG JIM YOU WILL BE MISSED BY ALL.
@Nebris RIP James Arness. Just heard about it too.
@recklesscharlie
I think the name of it is "How to kill a friend" It was the episode that was mixed up on the DVD release.
I REALLY wish they wouldn't remove comments so we'd ALL know what they're talking about, and, also, keep them in some kind of order

I did a quick check and the correct title is "The Round up" Season 2, Episode 4.

@HawklordLI
the into song or the actually song used(Boulevard of Broken by Greenday)? The first song you hear isn't part of the main video.
UN HIROI SIN CAPA
@djgrooveline
That "La la la" stuff? That is from a song called "Sugerwater" by a band called 'Chibo Motto'

Like how Patricia Blair replaced the Hattie Denton character on The Rifleman. Patricia would have fit right in on Gunsmoke!
