The least talented Van Zant brother has had the longest career. The guy who was absent from the band for about 25 years, comes back as and "original" member. Yes, he was an original member for a short time, as was Larry Junstrom of 38 Special. And Randall Hall played with these guys too. I don't remember him heralded as an original member. Maybe Randall was just an hired guitar for gigs. Another guy from Blackfoot also played in this band. Anyway, Johnny is the perfect man to ride on the fame of Rossington, Collins, Ronnie VZ, and all the other dead players. I can't stand this guy for the most part. He doesn't deserve this fanfare. What sort of person admires a pretender, a man who is a poor song writer on his best day?
Hey Johnny: As Barack Obama said to some Americans "You didn't build that." Sure, Obama is a loser. But some people do live off of organizations, businesses, ideas, "brands" that they had nothing to do with creating. Fortunately for Johnny, he hasn't had to live off only the ideas he has brought to Lynyrd Skynyrd. What were those great ideas you had Johnny? You can have that one disc of so called "greatest hits" of the modern band. You couldn't have sold that crap if people didn't already love RVZ, Allen C, Gary R, Ed King, Steve Gaines and the Honkettes. Rickey Medlocke actually has a whole lot more claim to this brand. At least Rickey worked with Ronnie Van Zant. Johnny never worked with Ronnie, or Steve Gaines or Allen Collins --when he wasn't in a wheel chair. Anyway, Johnny, I really can't stand you for the most part, but thanks for the Reunion Tour and up to about 1992. And no, the 1991 album and The Last Rebel didn't prove much. If anything, it proved how little you had to offer. You did better work with the original Johnny Van Zant Band. And by better, I mean that was YOUR product with those guys.
I think Johnny has done a decent job fronting this lynyrd skynyrd tribute band as it should be called for about 30+ it's kept skynyrds music alive bringing in younger audiences going to their shows of course it ain't lynyrd synyrd with Ronnie Allen ed or Gary but time has to move on
@@donjohn2695 I agree. Thanks to Johnny we got a really good Tribute Tour and album. We got the Cabin Fever reunion tour video. We got the album Legend before or around the time of the tour. Because the band continued we got the Complete Muscle Shoals album from 1971. We also got those awesome Quinvy and Shade Tree songs on Collectybles and other material from Live at the Fox. We also got the Memphis, TN 1973 show on Collectybles with the only know version of Woman of Mine. We also got Free Bird the Movie. Now we have Knebworth 76 in a restored format, the entire show and I guess we have that audio too. We got an official release of Skynyrd in Hamburg, Germany from 1974. Johnny, Gary, Ed, Leon, Artimus, Randall Hall, Billy Powell, they helped keep the music alive, and Johnny has said, "Keep it alive forever people." But Johnny can thank Ronnie and Donnie for him having a career. If Johnny had only Donnie as a reference, he might not have gotten signed as an artist. He had a good voice back then though, but it was the Allman Brothers Band's success, and Live at the Filmore East that led to a buzz to sign other Southern musicians. But Skynyrd records without Ronnie are really pretty bad. I have no idea what Skynyrd did over the years. I own the 91 record. I like about two songs on it. The Last Rebel, I've never even tried to listen to it. None of the JVZ albums made it to any sort of radio play, but RADIO died along the way, so there is that.
Talk what you know, because you know anything about it I assure you. Are you related to either of them? Because I am & it's certainly not Gene Odom I'm related to.

BUT...I've spoken to enough fans now who think Lynyrd Skynyrd continuing without ANY members who were present on the original five albums is a f*&king joke!! (NO ORIGINAL MEMBERS!!!🤣)
@@eaaivazianSo all the people who don't want to go hear them anymore should not go anymore and all the people who still want to go to their concerts should continue to do so. The band is made up of professional musicians who make their living by playing music and as long as people enjoy hearing them play they have every right to keep playing. Stop being a judgemental jerk. None of your business anyway.
The 90's Lynard Skynard sounds best cuz they learned how to play and big thing digital sound recording Best
A record beats cd or digital
You guys are a tribute cover band. Only going forward because of money.
Get P.Diddy to join the band.
Me neither I hate he claims that
Money talks.
The man who stabbed Ronnie in the back
You believe the wrong people.

Talk what you know, because you know anything about it I assure you. Are you related to either of them? Because I am & it's certainly not Gene Odom I'm related to.

For the sake of what was the greatest Rock and Roll band ever assembled. PLEASE STOP THE GREED! Retire with class for crying out loud!
For crying out loud why can't you and others like you leave them to their own lives and leave the fans alone. Musicians love to play music and their fans evidently still love going to their concerts. What's it to you? I doubt anyone is telling you how to live your life so stop telling other people how to live their lives! This band rightfully is Lynyrd Skynyrd and has been for many years so just go mind your own business and let them take care of their own business!! I wish Ronnie could jack your jaw for having such a hateful attitude towards the band!! All you judgemental whiners suck!!
Que se vayan a descansar mejor ......se lo merecen 😅
Hire growth
Johnny and Rickey: Rock’s greatest parasites.
Fake lynyrd skynyrd.
IF IT IS A BIG FAMILY THEN WHY DIDN'T LS LET ED KING COME BACK AFTER HIS HEART ATTACH ??? YOU ARE NOTHING MORE THAN A COVER BAND NOW. YOU DO NOT SOUND LIKE LYNYRD SYNYRD ANY MORE !!!!! AND WHAT ABOUT Artimus Pyle.... DID YOU FORGET HIM TOO !!!!

Ronnie Van Zant WAS Lynyrd Skynyrd. This new band is crap!
