It took me 2 years to come to terms with making the switch to 3. I don’t trust my knees anymore. I miss the 2 wheels but, am finding a different yet equal experience on 3. The peace of mind is also well worth the switch. Like your husband I don’t care what others think. The RG3 keeps getting looks and compliments. Ride it like you stole it.😎
Chuck, I'm with you. Keep riding and enjoy. More power to my double amputee brother. I'm a 22-year retired veteran. And yes, some are very ignorant if you're different from them.
Thank You Melissa ! As Always, A Wonderful Video ! My Wife Watched this one with me. Thank You Chuck ! She is Convinced that a Trike IS for me, ALL Based On Your Comments ! Thank You Both ! Now, I am even more excited to give Three Wheels an Honest Go ! Tri-Glide Here We Come !!!
Awesome. I am so glad your wife watched it with you...I had struggles getting back on a motorcycle after my husband's accident in 2013... I feel completely safe and stable on these 3 wheels. I am anxious to see what you get. Be sure to message me on our Facebook page/messenger (#Midlifestyle Twins) or send an email to talk2midlifestyletwins@gmail.com with pictures of your ride.
Another great video Melissa! I appreciate the insight Chuck gave on his decision to go from 2 to 3 wheels. I love that Chuck was not only concerned about his personal safety, but the fact that he put his brother and sister rider's safety in consideration over his own "rider ego." It doesn't matter if you are on 2 or 3 wheels, just as long as you are out there in the wind and enjoying the ride.
Great video!! I love my RG3!! I have had my motorcycle license for 7 years, but rode only scooters and hadn't ridden in 5 years due to a health diagnosis. Happy to share that I was cleared (still in treatment, but much better) to ride a few months ago and my husband pushed me think about a Harley so we could ride together. He is a diehard Harley guy and has had several bikes and likes to ride long distances. So it was a big step for me to step up to a Harley and learn to shift. So the RG3 gave me (and my doctor) comfort as a trike. Like you said, easy to ride and stable. It has been freezing where we live and Ive only had the bike for ~2 months and I am still already over 500 miles!! Love it. And those 2024 colors are AMAZING!! I have the same color as you, I call him Sonic, but that sharkskin blue is hard to ignore!! LOL.
Enjoying this video. I love hearing what your husband had to say. Yes...3 wheels is a better option if 2 wheels is no longer an option. Great encouragement.
Love your videos. My husband struggled with the decision to go to 3 wheels. We took 2 years off from riding because he didn't feel confident after a back injury and a diagnosis of spinal stenosis. I kept dragging him to Harley dealers and looking at Tri Glides. Finally he agreed to trade our Road Glide Ultra for a Tri Glide in 2020. After just 2 long rides, he admitted we should have done it sooner. This year he is having some more health challenges and he said I need to learn to ride. Your videos have been an inspiration to me. I passed my skills test in January and got my endorsement. The international female ride day is on my birthday this year so I would love to go. I need to get some more practice in to feel comfortable enough to ride in a group. Last time we were at our dealer, I was looking at the RG3. I asked him if we have room in the garage for 2 trikes. LOL Thanks for all you do.
That is awesome! Annette, last year the International Female Ride Day had experienced riders and new riders. All were welcome. As Chris told the group, you ride your own ride...at the pace you feel comfortable. No judgment, no criticism. The goal is to come together and Just Ride. You have 2 months...depending on where you live of course... but Spring is coming. Keep me updated on your progress. So happy to see you out there.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again this is a great channel Melissa. So much detail and you show us the pleasure or riding your HD. Thanks for all you do and please ride safe. Jonathan 🇬🇧
I have my tri glide 2020 love it. Its been 4 years love. I know what he's feeling I have lumbar back and nerve damage and si joint. Your still a biker been riding since 16 on the road, rain sleet and snow. Now it's great comfort and heated gear. Best of Luck and enjoy Life. Love SC was station down the road Semper Fi. God Bless
Great video as always, thank you Chuck for your honesty about your reasons for switching from 2 wheels to 3 . I had planned to sell my Mustang this spring and use the $$ to buy a Freewheeler, but the more I look at the Road Glide three the more I like it. Then my wife convinces me that we need to move back to Michigan so my bike dreams will need to wait a little longer . Oh well what can I say, SWMBO doesn't ask for much and her reasoning for the relocation are certainly valid. I'll be watching for your next video, they are always very well done.
Thank you for watching and commenting. Priorities are important... family first. I hope the dream comes true someday for you. My trip to Michigan (upper Peninsula) was probably my utmost favorite ride, ever. Loved crossing Mackinaw bridge even in 47 degree weather. Nothing like it.
love this video!!! the colors are so sharp. i agree with you on the favorites. the blue and the gray are so unique. i loved hearing what chuck had to say. and i loved hearing that you're getting a new seat before our trip 🤣🤣 love you! ☺️🫶
I always wanted to ride a motorcycle, but after serving in the military for 17 years and having knee surgery and back problems. I thought it would be best to get a trike. I looked at the Can-Am and then went to a local Harley-Davidson dealership and sat on a RG3 and pulled the trigger last September. I just recently passed the motor tricycle riders course. Time and patience are the key. Ride!
I am also interested in the Roadglide3 as well .I like how they look and I watch alot of video's about them and yours as well. But I feel that the other style is to big and bulky for me.That is why I am looking forward to trying them out.I see that you can customize it with alot of options. This is what I enjoy the most.
I am in the same boat your husband is in, I had my major stroke in February 2nd 2023 and I've had 2 mini strokes last year both before July last year I know what he's going through and I've been riding Harleys since 1974. I'm not going to give up riding but I admit that I don't think I can manage a two wheeler anymore I'm going to be looking into a three wheeler next month. Y'all stay safe and enjoy your life. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for sharing, your videos are very inspiring, I've been riding 40 years and feel I've got another 10 or so before it's time to switch to 3 wheels, safe travels✌️🙏🇺🇲
Your channel often a source of inspiration. I'm a recent convert to a '23 road glide 3. Love the ride. Love being out in the open. It made it so I didn't have to give up riding.
I also went from 2 wheels to 3 about a year ago too. Been riding for around 45 years. Some health issues caused me to make the switch. Every time I ride the RG3, I enjoy it more. It is so much fun to ride, and I don't miss having two wheels at all. I still love to look at them, but the RG3 meets all my needs to ride.
I really appreciated what your husband had to say about the transition to 3 wheels. I'll be 44 this year and because of several surgeries to both knees I have had to make the switch and I feel blessed to even have that option.
Your husband is so right! I went from 2 wheels (kicking and screaming) to 3 wheels. My wife has a "come to Jesus" meeting with me and explained that I was NOT 20 anymore, I'm 72. I am very unstable on 2 wheels, my balance, due to my stroke, rears it's ugly head and my riding days were limited. My wife took me to the Harley dealer we have dealt with4 bikes worth and after some talk I kind of liked a used 2017 freewheeler. My usual salesman pointed to the new trike beside it and asked if i liked that. Of course I did but who could afford it? YOU he said, it's a 2023 leftover with 10 miles on the odometer and I can get you a great price. Needless to say I left on the trike. It was the best decision (except to marrying my wife) I ever made...actually I didn't make it, SHE did. I am our every day in the wind, I am on a Harley and as you would say "Iam loving it!" In my humble opinion anyone who puts down a trike is an imbecilic devoid of social grace and caring. I LOVE my RG3 and will never go back to 2 wheels, even if my health permitted it. I am happy and i am happy that your husband has come to terms and is happy. To be in the wind, on a Harley, is God's way of saying I love you. Praise be.
Melissa I had to give up my two wheels I get a trike because I broke my hip and broke my femur and everybody told me got a three-wheeler and I love riding that trike as far as your husband goes that's the best thing to buy with a group of bikes I'm the son of a vet and I love doing stuff for our veterans
Thanks for sharing you and your husband's 3 wheel story with us . Those new colors are really sharp and I would love to add one to my collection lol . God Bless you and your husband. 🙂
I bought a 2017 tri glide years ago love it. But I also bought a 2019 sport glide love it, it's a very light bike, and with my disabilities found it very easy to handle and ride .
Hi Melissa, I do enjoy your videos I am looking forward to the Mackinac Island video I am a Michigander and that is one of my favorite rides. I feel your husband's pain about giving up two wheels, I just recently went to three wheels myself I have been on two wheels for 56 years. I must say going to three wheels was the best thing I did, all the stress is gone from getting out of gravel parking lots or busy gas stations Especially with a passenger. I think I will always miss the two wheels, But I will not miss the stress or the anxiety Of dropping a $40,000 motorcycle or worse injuring a passenger. Keep up the good work and God bless.
Thank you so much. Yes, the less stress riding on 3 wheels is the best! Plus, you get to stay out there in the wind. I am 98% done with the editing of the Mackinac Island Video...It should be out in the next few days. I have to admit that was my utmost favorite day of the trip. In fact, my favorite part of the entire trip was Michigan. That upper peninsula was spectacular.
@@MidLifeStyleTwins I am looking forward to the video. And yes Michigan's Upper Peninsula is beautiful, in the summertime. In the winter time they measure their snow by the foot!
Hi Melissa, your video was a great one (as always). Chucks information is probably going to be great for anyone with doubts or illness that makes them thinking they can't ride anymore. I went to 3 wheels in 2022 with a TriGlide after watching your videos with yours. It was a sad sort of day after riding 2 for so long. But after a 3 week trip in 2021, I was having anxiety about riding my 2 wheels! After some "soul searching", I decided it had to happen. I am now looking forward to your comparision video of the TriGlide vs RG3. Thanks for all you do. ...Diane
Thank you for putting this video together with your spouse. After a number of years of riding 2 wheels my last road trip was about 4,000 miles. I am a 68 year old (young) type 2 diabetic and with neuropathy in my feet. I dropped my bike 2 times during the trip. I made the decision to go to 3 wheels reluctantly and now I am glad I did. I figure that if someone has a problem riding with me with my 3 wheel than they are probably not worth riding with. I love the tri glide ultra.
Very well said! I try to respect everyone's feelings and thoughts, but if someone wants to disrespect someone on three wheels, then maybe they do not want to ride with me. So glad you are able to get out and enjoy the ride ... three wheel possibilities... so thankful.
Awesome video. I absolutely love the road glide 3 Harley Davidson absolutely knocked it out of the park when they came out with it I’m planning on getting one I ride on 2 wheels but when I laid my eyes on that trike I fell in love and have been obsessed with it since.
TOTALLY agree. The RG3 was a wise move for Harley. Now...hoping they put the new RG fairing on future models...I think I would definitely be tempted to make another trade-in if/when they do that.
I always say this to haters .. "The difference between me and you is I make it look cool..!!" Good on you guys that you are keep on riding.. I miss my ride for sure..
Hi, with the great styling HD has created for their various 3 wheeled options I don’t think anyone should feel bad about owning or riding one. If I had the opportunity to add one to the stable I would do it in a minute. Probably at some point down the road it will happen as I get older but even today It would be great for around town & for long distances. Your husband is smart and likely a rare character to be so honest with himself to assess his health status. It is far better to be on 3 wheels than give up riding as my dad did. I wish we could have had an opportunity to make a road trip or 2 before he gave up riding. Nice video and I look forward to seeing more of your 3 wheeled adventures.
Awesome video, thank you for sharing all of your experiences. Stopped riding a few years ago but was unsure about a trike. This video helps my decision let's all ride on safely.
Awesome. Riding on 3 wheels keeps those of us out there who would not be able to stay on 2 wheels...for whatever reason. So thankful for the option. Stay safe!
Nothign better than a weekend getaway!! Thanks for the insight into 3 wheels and the look at the new RG3's. Going through the same thought process due to old injuries, as well as getting a "little older" Thanks for the information!!
Thank you for the informative videos about your experiences on trikes. I had to make the transition from two wheels to three wheels in October, 2023, after having issues moving my Heritage Classic around and dropping her twice in the same day. It was really humbling to admit to myself at 71 y. o. that I was not physically able to stay on two wheels. Balance problems and weakened leg strength. What a transition. After about three months, operating my Tri Glide Ultra has become easier. I would have gone with a RG 3 if my dealer had them in stocks. Keep up the great video work!!!
Thank you for watching and commenting. What color Tri Glide Ultra did you get? Glad you are able to stay out there on the road...Thankful we have 3 wheel options. Dropping my 2 wheels was always my fear. Now I do not have to worry about that. I love my trips and when I am on my own with no one to help me pick it up...I cannot risk 2 wheels again.
We traded our Freewheeler in on the Road Glide 3 in Gray Haze. We named her Hazel. She recently got her new parts installed. She is a great bike. Keep up the good work. All the best to you both....................Cheers!
Thank you so much! Hazel is a perfect name for that beautiful color .... I would love to see her. you can post a picture on our facebook page (Midlifestyle Twins) or send an email at Talk2midlifestyletwins@gmail.com.
I'll be 74 soon. Been on motorcycles since I was 15. When you get to be my age it really is a matter of giving up riding completely or going to 3 wheels. I traded my 17 Road King for a 17 Freewheeler. Back in the wind and lovin' it. Ride safe .
hey guys thanks so much for the great video, lots of great into thanks Chuck for being so honest about this subject i am coming up on 69 soon like you i have been riding for almost 50 years we have the same out look about the biker life style once you get it in your blood its hard to put it aside i am also thinking about a 3 wheeler i really like them and have to think about the safety factor now thanks again for sharing your views ride safe you two
Thank you for watching. Once you know what it feels like to ride...it is hard to give it up. Yet, wisdom and safety... make three wheels a great option.
God Bless You and Thank You for being a Great inspiration for me to buy my 2023 road glide 3 back in Nov. 23 I had to give up my street glide special because because of
Keeping you out in the wind...doing what you love...that is the beauty of 3 wheels. Now there is a sporty option with convenience and luxury. Thank you and God Bless you as well.
I often tell people it is not what you ride that you still ride. I have always liked the trikes and when the time comes I hope to have one. I do not do long trips (6 hours maximum) and no passenger so I do not own a full size Harley Davidson but rather a Street Bob. At 650 pounds and a smaller frame it is still manageable. NICE BIKE!
Interesting... what was the first 3 wheeler you saw? I remember in 1997 when I was riding my sportster, a lady in the HOG club had a trike. For the life of me I cannot remember much about it. I wish I did. I remember thinking someday I may ride one of those. I was definitely intrigued. Any more videos out? I will have to take a break from editing to head over there and check your channels out. Have a great day, my Australian Motorcycle brother.
@MidLifeStyleTwins I think thr first trike I saw when I was a kid was a custom built chopper trike. Love at first sight. Since watching your video s it's reignited my love. But they are SO expensive here. I could buy a luxury European Car for the cost of a RG3 😪
@@ThrottleDownunder that is sad…wish there were more cost effective options. The only way I could buy mine was due to the trade-in value. They are very pricey and seem to be going up. Pretty soon Harley is going to price them self out because people won’t be able to afford them.
Good to read the comments below. I'm 72, pretty healthy but, I did have a stroke a couple years ago. No effects from it today though. I started riding at 58 and it is good I didn't find it earlier as it would have destroyed my career focus. I really don't want to go to three wheels, but, you have given me something to think about. An option for the future, however far off that is....
I made the decision 16 years ago in April of 2008 to trade my 2006 Softail Deluxe in on a 2008 Ultra Classic and had it made into a trike with a California Sidecar Trike kit. That was a year before HD came out with the Tri Guide. After I got use to it being wider around turns and gas pumps and so forth I knew I made the right choice. Three wheels is the right way to go even with health problems or without which I have. There is some things the same and a lot different things but you still get out in the wind. I've considered a Road Glide 3. Really like them and almost got one like yours last year at the HD dealership in Columbus Indiana.
I’m 63 and my knees are hurting and I believe arthritis is another problem. I’m having work done soon so maybe I’ll be able to hang on some time longer but when the time comes I’ll do it with no hesitation . I love riding and yes if it keeps me riding then I’m in .
I currently ride a '08 Rocker C. I'm a single Dad with a 7 y/o and seriously thinking of getting a 3 wheeler. Like the fact if he falls asleep on a longer ride, he'll still be safe. I like the idea of going camping with Bubba and having the truck space to pack everything up and head out. I see MANY pluses on going to a 3 wheelers.
Your 7 y/o would ride in comfort and security, especially on the Triglide...I almost fell asleep when I rode with my husband on it. It is great you have that time with your son. Chuck and I were talking last night about our son growing up around motorcycles...we were and still are a motorcycle family. Great times to bond. We also loved camping with our kids. Enjoy each and every second with your child.
I know the feeling of going from 2 to 3 wheels. Almost 2 years ago I had back surgery for a herniated disc. I haven't riden in over 2 years because of my back issues. I don't care for the look of the Tri-glide and the Freewheeler didn't have the radio and I love my tunes. When the RG3 came out in 2023, I knew I wanted one. So on Friday I picked up a 2025 blacked out Sharkskin Blue RG3. I will still keep my FB for those shorter rides, but happy to be back out on the road, just more frequently on my RG3.
Wish I could afford one... As a disabled Veteran it's hard for me to put weight on my legs... Shoot still haven't tried to get my endorsement because they won't allow three-wheelers on the course...
I know some states do not require an endorsement to ride a three wheel motorcycle, but I think having one is a good idea. I also heard that someone at one of the dealerships was researching 3 wheel endorsement options. Thanks for watching.
Hey .... THANX FOR SHARING !!! I have the twin of your RG3 and I am VERY interested in the new seat you mentioned. Is it a custom seat ??? Looking forward to seeing what you get. I rode to Utah Monument Valley and Colorado from TEXAS last October and I have no complaints on the factory seat .....BUT I am always looking at more comfortable options for the sake of my "hinny". I TOTALLY agree with your husband's opinion on going from 2 to 3 wheels. I am 75 years young and cannot imagine doing without a motorcycle. THANKS AGIN FOR SHARING !!!
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I am thinking strongly about going to the Mustang seat....I will let you know what I think when I get it. As the rider, I have no complaints about the stock seat. My daughter, however, was not at all comfortable with that seat. It was quite miserable on those long days.
Awesome video I also went from a two to a three and I love it because I wanna travel safe this year for my travel adventures and I feel safe riding a three wheel instead of a two wheel
After shopping for a used trike for a year I found the deal! 650 mile trailer trip to get a2020 TriGlide with only 3000 miles. It is way different than 2 wheels but I just turned 76 so this is what I need. Been trying to get comfortable before I put my wife on the back.
Enjoy your videos a lot. I think riding 3 wheels is becoming more of a norm for us older riders and I feel it’s being accepted by younger riders. As riders mature the safety especially with a passenger is getting more important. I want my wife with me on our Freewheeler as long as possible. God Bless.
Totally agree. I see more and more...maybe I am just aware more and more. After my husband's accident, I swore never to ride again. It was our 3-wheeler in 2017 that got us back out there. I felt more comfortable.
God bless you as well . I just purchased myself a 2022 Tri Glide last week . I need to get used to the steering as it is quite abit different from my 2 wheel motorcycle .
I waited a little while after initially watching you video about three-wheeler rider not really being bikers. It is sad that those who criticize others for there choices are so closed minded. I have ridden motorcycles since age 9 and will turn 70 this year. In 2019 I went into my local dealer to by a New Road King Classic and after a lot of soul searching, I bought a '19 Triglide. Since that time I have switched to a '23 RG3 (Gray Haze BTW) and love that bike. I too have age & injury concerns with riding on a two wheel bike. I agree that riding a three wheeler is much better than not riding at all. So let the hater hate, I will be riding a while happily longer 😊
That Gray Haze is an awesome color. Chuck said he may have chosen that if it was available...he really liked it. Yep...happy riding! Thanks so much for sharing your story and thoughts.
I love 2 wheels but don’t know how much longer my health will support that! Good to know that there is an option to keep me riding into my later years 😊
I have been riding since 1973, had all harley's( 7 ), 1 OCC modern Day Captain America Chopper as well, ( all harley ), and then one Indian in 2016,111 classic chief built up to a full touring bike. In 2017 got a new knee, so had to hold off a while UHG!!!! when I got back on it was hard and heavy now pushing over 900 lbs. ??? Since then only 3489 miles I put on it , which is only 388 about miles a year!!!! being scared of tipping which thank God all these years never happened!! Then 2019, 2020 started to fight cancer :(. so far so good, now really been off my ride:(... So last week my wife and talked about it, and did it. Our Road Glide 2023 Freewheeler was deliver to the house. Wow !! back where we belong ( on the road ). :-)))))) We Loveeeeeeee it ;-))) wanted to share and add to your rides.. Great video thank so much, God Bless Us & America !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wanted to ride a road glide this past weekend at bikeweek to get a better feel for the fix fairing, but rained out. the RG3 I road last October had a lot of wind Turbulence and wanted to compare with a regular one, so I'll try gain in October to test ride.. If I do switch back to 3, it'll be next year and hopefully they'll have the new fairings on them.
Are you talking about the new fairings on the Roadglides? I love those and am hoping they put them on the RG3s... I just may have to consider a trade in if they do that.
Melissa! And even though it was only 2 seconds, Yo Melinda! I agree with your husband. My body is shot from years of abuse at work. My strength is gone as is my balance. You have to adapt for the long term to keep moving. Just seeing the new bikes on video, i think i would go red. It says look at me and drool. 😲............................. 😎👍👍
Hey there, Joseph. Melinda is putting together a video of the event / ride from her perspective. Hope it will be out next week. That Red Rock is a brown-red color, like the rocks out west. It is sharp though not my favorite color. Thanks as always for your comment. Love seeing you here.
@@ShaneMunro4065 I contacted @throttledownunder and told him that I would love to come ride through Australia someday. Sad thing is I would have to rent a three wheeler and that is hard to do. Australia is on my bucket list.
The new Harley Davidson trikes are groovy, cool and sexy. People need to stop saying that trikes are for old people who can't drive two wheelers. Trikes are a breed all their own, just out of control GROOVY/BITCHIN'.
love this video..totally great view from someone that has ridden two's for decades and recently switched to 3s. For me I've started out on 3s back in 2019 finally but done the motorcycle course on 2s but went with 3s when it came time to buy one because I'm working right now and totally know I'll end up on 3 so why not. Now actually its a major debate with me on my next bike if I want to go with a lowrider st, sportster s, or even another trike possibly. I will say anyone that says that they can't be fun nor hang with 2s is totally wrong. So to say its a old person or lame bike is just wrong. I've got 64,473 miles on my 2019. I actually talked to someone in the HR department while in Daytona at the HD location at the speedway asking why is it that Harley doesn't do events for trikes and if they actually like having to make the trikes. Needless to say hadn't heard anything yet but I did shock her with the question and comments yet she did tell me that Harley themselves are actually back and forth about what they need to do with the trikes as far as events and PR they are lacking. Glad to see though that there are others that are doing trike channels granted we are few and far between still it seems. Take care and might run into you guys out and about somewhere never know.
I am 75 and what's a Trike, the thing Stop in me is money , I'm Handicapped an because of it no money . My son as a Ultra glide harley we talked to him about the old days and ride in my bikes and my wish we could ride together. It a big lottery dream so we can ride together ❤️. You never know , after all I am not to be here alive. And I am , so lottery look out . GOD-BLESS YOU GOD-BLESS AMERICA 🇺🇸 P.S. love this video great one , nice to see. Your lover boy . Lol
I so hate that those trikes are so expensive. If it were not for an early inheritance gift, I would not have been able to afford my CVO. Trading that CVO in made it possible for me to not have a payment on my road glide three. I refuse to have Debt. and the road glide threes are a little pricey these days. Thank you so much for watching.
I heard that they were only putting the new shark nose fairing on a few of the CVO or certain models this year. I hear maybe in the next year or 2 they will switch over. If so, I may have to do a trade....
No, I feel that I am the best judge in that decision. However, I have been cleared by all medical professionals to return to 'normal' activities. I was fortunate that the stroke had minimal effects on my body. I do take meds to help prevent future issues.
Believe me, if the doctor told him no more riding, the nurse in me would be hard-pressed to send him out with a blessing. That was a specific question I asked his doctors. "Live your life" they said. :)
@@MidLifeStyleTwins And hopefully the M8 117 which is now standard on the Low Rider & Breakout. Makes no sense why they didn't put that engine in such a heavy Trike. Hopefully 2025 is the year they upgrade engine.
I went 3 wheels after62 years of riding at 78 and would love to go back, but that's not going to happen, 83 now and still enjoy riding. Just don't care for the electric reverse on Harley.
I try never to use the electric reverse... I only use it in an absolute emergency and when I am not able to back up on my own leg power. When I park, I have that in mind. Anyway, ride safe and enjoy! Thanks for watching and commenting.
That is ridiculous… wish they would stop pricing people out of keeping out there. I guess I will go for a used motorcycle if I run this one to the ground.. I do hate the high price tags on these.
Yeah, can't sit through a fight or a race if a fighter or athlete crosses themselves. Can't stand when someone says, "Good luck"..ugh! Superstition and stupidity are not that different, except in the former case they don't know & the latter doesn't think.
I been on three wheels for a short time. It took a few rides and adjustments, now I find it just as much fun as my Softail. I'm passing my heritage to my son. Keep the knees in the wind.
I had a 2007 White Pearl Gold beautiful Softail. I loved that motorcycle... but I love my 3 wheel because it keeps me out on the road. Thanks so much for sharing.
I can’t justify a Harley when a Spyder RT Limited is just as loaded, rides smoother and costs a lot less. Ihave a 2018 RT L, it was my dad’s. He didn’t like it so he basically quit riding until may 2023, when he got his new Tri glide. He added front & rear air suspension, bunch of other things; now he wants his Spyder back. He says the two don’t compare.
Im a 62 yr old biker stud. If you dont believe me ask your wife. This is what I have learned. Old age is the ultimate butt fucker.. I ride a RGL and a Street Bob.. Night and day difference between the two bikes. If the touring bikes are too heavy . Try the Low Rider ST. Picking up the Street Bob is easy. I dont like riding behind trikes on a group ride. If your on three wheels you are not a biker because your a triker. If I have to go on a trike . I wont ride.
Our son has a Low Rider ST. I sat on it and found it a little too heavy for me, but it is definitely better than the Road Glide Special. My daughter in law has a Street Bob, it was not too bad, but when I do these long trips by myself with luggage, I would prefer the comfort of the larger motorcycles. I do not want to risk being out there and worry about trying to get it up on my own if I drop it. The comfort and stability peace of mind out weighs my desire to get back out on 2 wheels (though I do miss it). I am just so glad there are options out there and we all can do what works for us. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts and feelings. Wish "triker" would be used in the same respect as the term "biker." Sad to say, I have heard otherwise. That's Ok. I am glad there are options out there. I remember in 1997 I rode a sportster with the HOG club. A lady in our group had a trike ... it was my first time riding in a group with a trike. I did not see any issues with it and actually was quite impressed. Now I am that lady at 57...who enjoys the ride on 3 wheels and have no regrets. I hope not to offend 2 wheel riders in a group now and thankfully hear the contrary.
I know...that CVO is a beauty and my new wind sister is enjoying it therefore I am enjoying it through her. Thanks so much for watching. Love hearing from you.
Ride it like you stole it.😎
It keeps you riding... that is what is important.
Don’t matter what your on from manufacturer to style as long as your riding period
Chuck, I'm with you. Keep riding and enjoy. More power to my double amputee brother. I'm a 22-year retired veteran. And yes, some are very ignorant if you're different from them.
Yes, much respect goes out to our service members and so thankful for the option to continue to do what they love...ride.
It was a pleasure having y’all at the dealership. We hope to see you again soon!
Hope to be there soon… Going to check out that Triglide you have in. And I will definitely be there May 4 for the international female ride day.
Hey, Larae! Look forward to our 3-wheel adventure in August.
@MidLifeStyleTwins Me too. Definitely excited about it!!
LOL.
We have one of the best colors, huh! :). Thanks so much for sharing your story.
Enjoying this video. I love hearing what your husband had to say. Yes...3 wheels is a better option if 2 wheels is no longer an option. Great encouragement.
Thanks. Agree!
Kudos to your husband for telling the truth about his medical conditions most men would shy away from that re: ego thing … thanks Man 👍🏻
The courage to speak up is far more impressive and endearing than trying to protect one's ego, I think. I love that about him.
@@MidLifeStyleTwins I agree wholeheartedly I am the same way as well. Stay safe both of you 👍🏻
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again this is a great channel Melissa. So much detail and you show us the pleasure or riding your HD. Thanks for all you do and please ride safe. Jonathan 🇬🇧
Thank you so much. It is definitely a pleasure to ride and I love sharing.
I got my 2024 shark skin blue last month and love it
Congratulations! Enjoy the ride
God Bless
Respect to that gentleman Chuck...Due to a stroke ...and still keep on riding . Greetz from Germany.
I really like the sharp skin blue trike for 2024
Agree...it was tough choosing my favorite... Harley did good with the colors this year. Of course my Miss Liva (Billiard Blue) is a sharp color too.
Yes, my darling daughter, I will not subject you to that uncomfortable seat this year. LOL
I hope you are able to stay out in the wind and stay safe! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for sharing, your videos are very inspiring, I've been riding 40 years and feel I've got another 10 or so before it's time to switch to 3 wheels, safe travels✌️🙏🇺🇲
That is awesome. Thank you so much for watching.
Your channel often a source of inspiration. I'm a recent convert to a '23 road glide 3. Love the ride. Love being out in the open. It made it so I didn't have to give up riding.
RG3 Family... love it! :). Thank you so much. Encouraging others is a special blessing for me. Yep...3 wheels is better than no wheels.
I love the Sharkskin Blue. I would love to have that trike for sure. Great video and thanks for sharing both of your insights about riding a trike.
Thank you for watching and responding.
Thank you for watching and sharing.
i had to goto 3 wheels from a gxsr 1000 to a canam spyder because of a medical condition. i still love it as much, no regrets
Nice. I want to take a ride on one of those someday...I know some ladies who have one and they love it.
Sorry for your accident. So thankful you are able to still ride... I too appreciate and love our veterans. Thank you so much for watching.
Thanks for all you do. ...Diane
Thank you so much.
I love that! Thanks for watching.
As a child you start off with training wheels on a bicycle. You get old and end up going back to training wheels. You have to be strong to get old. 💪
I am not old (yet)... but if it keeps me out there, then I am all for it. Thank you so much for watching.
Great content
Very inspiring 🎉
Well said! Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Whatever keeps you out there doing what you want to do. Stay safe! thank you so much for watching and commenting
@@MidLifeStyleTwins my Tri Glide is billiard red, 2021. My Heritage Classic was billiard red and vivid black.
Ride safe .
Awesome! Glad you can still enjoy the open air.
I’m glad I went to the trike last year. With some physical issues, it’s nice to be on the road again.
Yay! Sorry for your physical issues, but so happy there is a way to keep you out there on the road. Ride safe.
50+ years riding. Bad knee - Lower leg weakness. Went from 96 Road King to 2020 Tri-Glide.....I love It!!!! 😊
Awesome! Ride safe and enjoy!!
hey guys thanks so much for the great video, lots of great into thanks Chuck for being so honest about this subject i am coming up on 69 soon like you i have been riding for almost 50 years we have the same out look about the biker life style once you get it in your blood its hard to put it aside i am also thinking about a 3 wheeler i really like them and have to think about the safety factor now thanks again for sharing your views ride safe you two
Thank you for watching.
Well said Chuck! Thanks for sharing.
NICE BIKE!
I loved this video. And ever since I was a kid I have loved 3 wheelers. One day I'll have one.
Awesome. Thank you so much for watching and responding. Ride safe!
Yes, getting out there is what is important whether two or three wheels. Or a sidecar. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
I’m 63 and my knees are hurting and I believe arthritis is another problem. I’m having work done soon so maybe I’ll be able to hang on some time longer but when the time comes I’ll do it with no hesitation . I love riding and yes if it keeps me riding then I’m in .
Great way to look at it. Ride safe and thanks for watching and sharing.
I am also considering it as well as I am having knee issues and balancing a big bike is becoming a chore very inspired by your video
Three wheels is freeing-- eliminates the worry about dropping a heavy machine. Thank you for watching.

@@CheeseBiker4Life Thank you so much. Appreciate you watching our videos.
Love your videos I have a 1200 Sportster now but I love the try glides hope to have one someday
My first motorcycle was an 883 sportster (I think 883 is right). I loved that 1997 new...red... Miss it. Thanks for watching.
My daughter in-law has an 883 now
I know the feeling of going from 2 to 3 wheels.
EXACTLY! LOVE that sharkskin blue! Ride safe!!
Glad you and your man your hubby took some time for yourself
Time away together is always important.
Now when you 2 young couple decides to take a ride together please let’s us get some of the ride lol
Knees in the breeze and one on one with Nature. That's the spirit and that's all that counts.
That trike is gorgeous 😍
Awesome video I also went from a two to a three and I love it because I wanna travel safe this year for my travel adventures and I feel safe riding a three wheel instead of a two wheel
Awesome! Ride safe and God Bless you! :)

@@Toddsinniger That is awesome. :)
After shopping for a used trike for a year I found the deal! 650 mile trailer trip to get a2020 TriGlide with only 3000 miles. It is way different than 2 wheels but I just turned 76 so this is what I need. Been trying to get comfortable before I put my wife on the back.
What an awesome deal!!! So happy you found it. So glad you can still be out in the wind
Great video! 🙂
That is awesome! Congratulations
Good to know that there is an option to keep me riding into my later years 😊
Yes, whatever it takes to keep you out doing what you love
Thanks for the video 👍👍
Thank you for watching and commenting.

The HD Trikes are nice, would not mind one, even though I can still ride my Road King.
Melissa! And even though it was only 2 seconds, Yo Melinda! I agree with your husband. My body is shot from years of abuse
at work. My strength is gone as is my balance. You have to adapt for the long term to keep moving. Just seeing the new bikes
on video, i think i would go red.
Hi,
I live in Australia and I had a major motorcycle accident in 2023. I've moved to 3 wheels, best thing I ever did so I can keep riding 🏍️🇦🇺
Sorry about your accident but so thankful that you are able to ride another day...
@@MidLifeStyleTwins I now have a 2018 107CC Freewheeler. Loving it 🏍️🇦🇺
@@ShaneMunro4065
I contacted @throttledownunder and told him that I would love to come ride through Australia someday. Sad thing is I would have to rent a three wheeler and that is hard to do. Australia is on my bucket list.
I hope you get to do it, we have a great country. Thankyou for your replies also.
Take care, be safe 🤗 🏍️🇦🇺
You 2 are beautiful people 😊
Ahhh, thank you!.
Good video. Do the 18' rear wheels firmer ride?
I really do not feel different from the Triglide. I love how the motorcycle feels on the road.
The new Harley Davidson trikes are groovy, cool and sexy. People need to stop saying that trikes are for old people who can't drive two wheelers. Trikes are a breed all their own, just out of control GROOVY/BITCHIN'.
Totally Agree!
love this video..totally great view from someone that has ridden two's for decades and recently switched to 3s.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Just subscribed to your channel. Love the three wheel channels.
I am 75 and what's a Trike, the thing Stop in me is money , I'm Handicapped an because of it no money . My son as a Ultra glide harley we
talked to him about the old days and ride in my bikes and my wish we could ride together. It a big lottery dream so we can ride together ❤️.
You never know , after all I am not to be here alive. And I am , so lottery look out .
GOD-BLESS YOU
GOD-BLESS AMERICA 🇺🇸
P.S. love this video great one , nice to see.
May need to go 2 wheels sooner than expected. Why are the new RG3's still sporting the old shark nose and not the new RG?
I heard that they were only putting the new shark nose fairing on a few of the CVO or certain models this year. I hear maybe in the next year or 2 they will switch over. If so, I may have to do a trade....
Curious, did you get your cardiologist or doctor opinion on you riding after the stroke?
No, I feel that I am the best judge in that decision. However, I have been cleared by all medical professionals to return to 'normal' activities. I was fortunate that the stroke had minimal effects on my body. I do take meds to help prevent future issues.
Believe me, if the doctor told him no more riding, the nurse in me would be hard-pressed to send him out with a blessing. That was a specific question I asked his doctors. "Live your life" they said. :)
Ride on!
Amen
👏 😎
I love it but can’t afford it
Suggest you wait for the new fairings and large screens sure to come in 2025!
My thoughts exactly!👍
My local dealer wants 44k for a bone stock RG3. No thanks. The upgrades alone would cost another 6k. Guess my riding days are coming to an end.
That is ridiculous… wish they would stop pricing people out of keeping out there. I guess I will go for a used motorcycle if I run this one to the ground.. I do hate the high price tags on these.
I don't regret giving up my two wheels because of my left leg I got a ride and pin in it I need my bike double shot after my wife
Thank you so much for watching and sharing.
$34,000 /bike new. Buy used. Save thousands.
Agree!!!
WHY NOT JUST GET A CONVERTIBLE? 🤷♂
Convertibles are nice but they are still a cage. 😉
Blessing the bike??? Loved the video till I saw this nonsense. Superstition at its finest.
Yeah, can't sit through a fight or a race if a fighter or athlete crosses themselves.
Can't stand when someone says, "Good luck"..ugh!
Superstition and stupidity are not that different, except in the former case they don't know & the latter doesn't think.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and reply.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and reply.
I want to try riding a Spyder someday
@@MidLifeStyleTwins I love mine! Auto air ride, electronic windshield raising & lowering, and 6 speakers! Can’t go wrong lol.
Sucks to be you and full of so much ignorance...stud.
?
Hi!! Melissa: Enjoy your video contents, but still confessed that you traded-in CVO Tri-Glide Trike on the Road-Glide3. Cin-Cin and Salute 💙❤️💙🫡🙏👌👍
I know...that CVO is a beauty and my new wind sister is enjoying it therefore I am enjoying it through her. Thanks so much for watching. Love hearing from you.
