Enjoy your videos! All sorts of add pms we can do to the RG 3 Question I have before I put bars on. You mentioned brake cable connector. Is there a part # my Harley store has no idea what I’m talking about!
Hey there thank you for watching. Let me get a hold of Cameron and ask him if he could share the part that he was talking about. He said it is a L type connector that connects the brake cable just under the seat where I had the cover off on my motorcycle. he also said that what is happening is these motorcycles are going so fast that these technicians don’t have time to get into the motorcycles and look at those kind of things. He said that the parts program he was ordering everything from did not have it listed either. So let me see what I can find out to let you know. Otherwise have them call Low Country Harley Davidson and ask to speak to Cameron. I think Cameron ended up speaking to a North Carolina dealership who told him. All the fun of buying a new to the year motorcycle.
I still have 2220 cvo roadglide sand dune (2 wheels) and love my RG# as well. The RG# doesn't shake too much as some has said. It depends on what you are comfortable with.
I am extremely comfortable to the RG3. I have no problems with it. I would love to get the nerve up to get back out on 2 wheels but I cannot get out of my head. Thats OK I am just as happy on my 3 wheels. It keeps me out doing what I love.
Great video! I too hated the side to side feeling when I first started riding my trike but I don’t notice at all now. Your husband will get use to it sooner than he thinks. BTW I love his previously owned Miss Liberty! Stay safe!
I read quite a bit about the 17th annual International Female Ride Day (IFRD) this Saturday, May 6, 2023. Throughout the day, women in over 120 countries will hit the road in solidarity! Another great video Melissa.
When moving up to a three wheeler, yes up, we all experience the ride and handling difference. It takes a couple thousand miles and it all comes together. After the adding the Legend suspension front and back the the lift kit on the rear, changing the handlebars, those awful handlebars, my Tri Glide Ultra is like driving my truck. All the wiggle is gone caused by tense riding and not allow the trike to do its thing. My wife and I have been riding together for near 45 years before we moved up to the trike. Go back, no on your life. So much more comfortable and so much room for luggage with the matching suitcases that fit in the truck plus room for lots more stuff. The tour pack carries all of the personal items, like extra jacket or helmets if we travel out of SC. Room for things like flashlight, paper work, sun screen, glasses, wallet, phone keys and weapon.
Awesome video. on another note, in case your interested, I saw from another TH-camr channel , this person added lowers to his road glide3, he also added speakers on them and it also offer some rain protection as you mentioned you have none in case your interested. Thank you.
I know they have parts that can provide the protection, but I so love the clean look without all those added things. I think I will put rain pants on and toughen up a little. LOL. Thank you so much for the feedback. I appreciate it.
You produce some very nice videos. They’re helpful as we consider going from two to three wheels. Just curious on this episode, you sounded a bit dissatisfied with the CVO you traded in. Could you provide some specifics? Thanks and keep up the great work.
Thank you so much. I loved the CVO, but I prefer the sporty open style of the RG3 and Freewheelers. Plus, I feel I paid a lot for that CVO (more than I should have). I had some issues with it on a trip the previous year and my friend who bought the motorcycle from the dealer also had some issues with it on our trip in 2023. Turned out to have a bad electronic module (the brains) and it needed to be replaced. While there are electronic components on all the motorcycles these days, I was just frustrated with it. I think the Triglides are nice, but I would never pay the price of a new CVO. I just do not need all those bells and whistles.
I test rode the Road Glide III. Immediately, I could tell the difference between the Tri Glide and Road Glide III. The Tri Glide offers more protection from the elements because of the size of the batwing and lower fairings. While the Road Glide III would probably be a cooler ride in the summer since the smaller sized fairing and the fact it has no lower fairings. Also, you will get less vibration on your handle bars on the Road Glide III because the fairing is mounted to the frame instead of the handle bars. And the last observation I made on the Road Glide III is the seat appears to be lower than the Tri Glide. Those were just a few of my observations.
Great feedback! Yep... rain feels like pellets without those lower fairings. Love the open feel though. Less arm strength to turn RG3. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Oh boy.. I'm famous now.. lol. When you were featuring Doc Harley and his youtube channel, the video dealing with the handle bars was my bike that he had torn apart replacing the bars. I also got a nice 300 mile ride in two days ago, rode up to Augusta and had lunch at Steak & Shake then rode home. You still have a few miles than I do, but I'll soon out pace you.. lol
Ha! Can I have your autograph??? I will go look for that video with Doc Harley. It was such a pleasure getting to meet you the other day. Thank you for letting me share your story. We went to Augusta a few weeks ago. Beautiful country heading through some of the southern SC counties. Safe riding out there my friend. I will be up there at LCHD on Saturday.
Wow. Not surprised she is a great ride. But I am surprised at the jerk of my heart strings 😬 just now. Still no regrets but I loved her. Thanks for letting me know. ❤️
Melissa, you are awesome! Thank you so much for spreading the word on our International Female Ride event planned on May 6, 2023. I am looking forward to riding with you Saturday!
I will definitely keep pushing it… And as our channel grows, hopefully we will get more people local involved. Thank you so much and look forward to seeing you Saturday rain or shine. I’m planning to try to be there by 8:30 so I can get some footage of people coming in.
Melissa! Riding in the rain is a drag. After the first time you know what to get for the next time. The first time i got caught in it, i was not prepared, had no fairing, and no face shield. 😲😧 I didn't mind too much except for the pins and needles attacking my face. Great video ...................... 😎👍👍
I guess I should be thankful it was only my legs and not my face as was the case for you. Ive been pelted in the face in the past too. That is why I like the 3/4-full face helmets. Thanks for watching :).
I have been having clutch issues. But I love this bike. It's totally different and will take time to really getting it to operate the way you would want
@@MidLifeStyleTwins yes, twice now I don't know what's going on with it I haven't hit the 500 mile mark yet. So I have to take it easy until I reach the 500 but it's difficult where I reside. The traffic is fast paced even in the far right lane
I have zero idea what a brake line issue would be. I have 14” KST straight jackets on my RG3 and other than extending the clutch cable, no more mods were required.
I do not completely understand. My husband thinks there may have been an issue with how the parts were order - some of the parts on the list may have been for Freewheeler and not RG3. I was disappointed but understand things happen in this process especially with a new model. Wish I had time to become an expert LOL. I am learning a lot, though. Thank you for watching and the feedback
Great content, so what is the difference between the rg3 and the triglide and which one handle better ps was the red and white road glide what your husband used to have
I personally do not feel any big difference between how the RG3 and Triglide handles except for the handle bars/turning. With the fixed fearing of the RG3 the handle bars feel like they turn easier for me because I do not have the weight of the fearing (like on the triglide with its batwing fearing). For my husband going from 2 wheels to the RG3 he said when you hit a bump on the 2 wheels, the movement is "up and down"; whereas for the three wheels the bumps are absorbed from side to side (off two rear tires). He does not see much difference from RG3 in comparison to the Triglide (which he has had experience on). It is hard to explain in words (I am sorry if I am not articulating this well). It makes sense to me now that I recall my two wheel days (11 years ago). Maybe I can talk my husband into doing a video with me and explaining. He just confirmed what Doug (in my video was saying). Thank you so much for the question.
@MidLifeStyle Twins you are so very welcome and I understand what you are saying by it going side to side, can't wait for the next video and get your husband in the videos with you since you both ride
@@CharlesJrSmith going to need to find a way to get him to slow down. Have a few hours of footage riding with him and he always takes off faster than me LOL. Rode to Augusta GA with him and my son. Footage would have been good if they were not too far ahead. Definitely will work on that.
Me and my wife we plan on getting a trike one day and riding I was always in love with motorcycles. I have a bunch of friends that ride them that are in motorcycle clubs that I became friends with over the years and we plan on getting the motorcycle one day.
I have a RG3, love everything but the SUSPENSION, terrible!!! 🤬 Had it upgraded with Harley “ Ledgend “ front & rear. It’s a little better, but still too bouncy. How do you deal with it ??
My husband thinks the suspension is just different than the two wheels he is used to. I have been on Three wheels since 2017 and do not notice the suspension issues anymore. I am sure it could be better but am just so happy to get out there I just take it as it is. Sorry I do t have a better answer for you.
another reason why I like my trike is that really they are all weather bikes and handle rather good in the rain and high winds really don't bother them at all which makes riding them great.
Agree. In 2020 when I rode my 2017 Triglide out west, we hit a 70 mph sand/dust/dirt storm. Apart from feeling the sand blast and needing a little more pressure hold on the handle bars, it did not bother me. The 2 wheels on the other hand had some real struggles. Thank you so much for the feedback and for watching.
I was talking with a HOG member here in CA about the front end instability. He said to increase the air pressure to 40 psi, and the front end searching goes away. He also said that he changed the rear shocks, and raised the back 1 inch. He said the overall ride improved. There are always pros and cons to making changes, but it might be something to consider.
That is awesome to hear. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and share that information. I do not feel it but my husband does. I will share this with him and see what it does for him. Thank you again.
Out of curiosity, I decided to test ride the RG3 at bike week here just about a month ago. No doubt completely different then 2 wheels; an odd and somewhat unstable feeling riding it. Definitely would take getting accustomed to that style of riding.
In 2018 after riding 2 wheels and new to 3 wheels, it was different. Now I do not notice it. I love the stability now when I travel alone, no fear of dumping it and not being able to pick it up on my own. Thank you so much for watching and your feedback.
What kind of helmet are you wearing. Also what slip on mufflers did your husband have put on his RG3. I was also riding a 2021 own the RG3. I’ve had my RG3 for about 2 weeks and haven’t been able to ride due to recent rotator cuff repair 😢. Actually it is still in the shop getting some extras put on. Im really enjoying your videos. Thank you Be safe out there!
That helmet is a 3 piece modular helmet made by Harley. It can be a 1/2, 3/4 or the full face. It is not to protect from injury but it is great for wind and weather control. Great for trips when space is a concern. Hate it when injuries happen and keep you from riding... Prayers for quick recovery so you can get back out there.
MetLife style I used to ride a two-wheeler but I broke my hip and femur Knight Rider track 2013 I love it I'm Cleveland Ohio I bought my bike from Rock and Roll Harley in Cleveland Ohio great motorcycle shop
I find riding in the rain, while it's warm, is an awesome feeling. We don't get much rain Vegas, but when it does, I ride on purpose to feel the drops sting my skin. A rider's backrest should be on your to do list if you don't already have one.
Ha, I am sure when you’re not used to seeing much rain that it is nice when it does rain especially when it’s hot. I was just not ready for the pelting on my legs. I’m sure next time I’ll know what to expect. I was spoiled with those lower fairings. I do have a riders back rest. I never found it very useful because of the way I ride forward a little bit. But I will try it again. I’m sure on the long trip. Plus if I have a passenger it has a nice pouch for them. Thanks again for watching Safe riding out there.
It is a big secret! :). Going to do a video on that. I had to come up with a different name. Actually, I was not very creative with the other two...red girl and blue girl. LOL. This time I came up with a good one with a little more thought.
Upon my research I happen to find your Channel great to know your believer if you upgrade your suspension on your trike you should have a smoother ride Legends makes a good suspension kit and if you to get yourself a triple tree rate 5 degrees they already make them for the conversion kits should help out with the steering and make it a lot easier according to my research the way I'm going to do it is conversion much better suspension then your stock Factory Harley-Davidson trike roadsmith makes a good converging kit you can also get extra gas tank 5 gal that's the route I'm going to go little bit more expensive but way better
I heard abut Legends. Someday if I get $$$ I might look into it. So wish I was capable of adding things myself because the biggest expense is paying HD to put things on that motorcycle let alone being able to get the thing in to be worked on. God Bless You!! Yes I am a Christian and not ashamed to share that fact.
@@MidLifeStyleTwins Amen to that. it not that expensive at all. You can actually do the work yourself or your husband if he's handy. You don't need HD to do it
@@MidLifeStyleTwins there's going to come in time when God's going to bless. We are entering into that season soon. You'll have the money to do it like I'll have the money to buy the trike that is what the Lord has been showing me. Watch and see things are about to turn around
I have been riding three wheels since 2018 and have gotten used to it. It really never bothers me; I was just so thrilled with the stability of three wheels it never bothered me. It really helps with trying to keep arm muscles toned. I just rode 835 miles yesterday and today to Indiana and feel it in my arms …reminding me of the arm use (it is a good feeling). My husband said it took some getting used to.
I’m sorry, Not quite sure what you are trying to say in this comment; so I will just say thank you so much for taking the time to watch and providing your feedback.
Melissa, if this post is not derogatory then I apologize for assuming wrong, but it sounds like someone who is using words (confusing for sure) to TRY to make your video look bad (like bullies often do). Do do not worry about it. We love your videos and how genuine you are. Rubs? Transformation? Biker? Do explain, Pinslayer45. (I would not give posts like this a second consideration or glance. Anytime someone is rude or derogatory it is usually to make up for some of their own inadequacies. Keyboard bullies are not worth wasting another thought on).

Thanks again for watching Safe riding out there.
i am looking at rg3
Definitely love that motorcycle.
What have y’all named your new bikes?
It is a big secret! :). Going to do a video on that. I had to come up with a different name. Actually, I was not very creative with the other two...red girl and blue girl. LOL. This time I came up with a good one with a little more thought.
Like you, I prefer the RG3 over the triglide
Love the sporty look of the RG3.
Okay if you're right on a rainy day especially a downpour turn on your four-way flashers so the cars can see you
We do that when the rain is long and heavy. Great reminder.
Have watched several of your videos and I never hear you complain about the steering difficulty on a trike like many of the males that try a trike!
It would be nice of you but leaks on what kind of parts you have put on your bike
Под дождём кайфа мало )) ...
Add a engineguard, painted lowers, hwypegs, you will be more comfortable
Thank you for those suggestions. Adding to my list for sure. ❤️.
Cleaning my bike after riding in rain is not something I like doing. 😎👍
Me either!!!!! I wonder how much I’d have to pay my husband to just do it for me… Lol. He always tells me you ride it you clean it.
HALARIOUS !!!!!!! When rubs vlog their transformation into " bikers".........
