I remember when i was young my triple A hockey team would play these tournaments in Buffalo(Pepsi cola tournament it was called) and we would stay in the Buffalo Hilton for a few days each year. I think we went maybe 3 or 4 times and upstairs they had a handful of arcade games. This and Hit the Ice were the only ones I remember because I could never tear myself away from either of them. For over 20 years I couldnt figure out the name until my oldest friend told me. I dont know how he remembered. I would always describe it as "you know, theyre like warriors with little guys on their shoulders and i remember they rode animals like Golden Axe" Lol. People would look at me like wtf? Even the most hardcore game collectors i know hadnt a clue what I was talking about. Well.... this is fuckin it. Lmfao. Amazing.
Oh my god. For years I was trying to recall the name of this game. I was a young kid at the time. I've been trying to describe this game to people and nobody recalled. I just remembered being able to ride the tiger and decapitate the enemies. Thanks for sharing. So many memories.
Right at the 2:50 mark. I've had vivid memories of that spinning move with the tiger to take the head off that ogre. This game was at a donut shop from my childhood. I can't believe you got the ROM for this
This was a very hard game back to the day when there was no instructions to tell you how you jump upon a monster head to due safe and big dmg, I remember I pay quite a few to learn out how it works
The opening scenes where the man had his head bitten off & arm ripped out of its socket along with the woman being stabbed in the face with the sword have been permanently etched into my memory forever.
Tecmo, Jaleco, Data East back in the day they churned out weird, amazing sh*t like this. Ultra violent, challenging and off the wall. The graphics were decent for the time and the gameplay wasn't stellar but boy did it grab your attention.
Okay that was a lot to unpack there in the first few minutes, normal looking little guy riding atop another normal looking big guy then suddenly a damn kaiju gorilla shows up. I miss the days when video games were almost always this weird XD
Question: are the protagonists normal sized guys riding giants to fight othe giants in a giant world? or are they midgets who ride normal sized guys in a normal size world? because... look at the size of everything else... the doors, the windows, even the freaking candles are HUGE
