I can't help but feel a bit bitter that we never received this version of Castlevania III with the extra sound chips in the cartridge in North America. It sounds so much better!
It wouldn't have worked anyway, because of the lack of a sound input line on the NES' cartridge connector. If not for that, we probably would have gotten this sound.
@@raiannedunlap5335 No, it was on a cartridge, which included Konami's VRC6 memory mapper/programmable sound generator with 3 additional channels (two pulse and one sawtooth), bringing the system total to 6 tone channels (instead of 3) plus noise (and the lesser-used DPCM channel). Disks don't have their own special hardware, and the FDS had an entirely different sound chip consisting only of wavetable synthesis. So, an FDS game basically sounds like a regular Famicom/NES cart with maybe some higher-quality samples than you could have otherwise. But none of the richer harmonies you hear in this video.
9:10 Trevor: "Errr, why do you want to beat your father btw? Dad issues, or planning to overthrow him?" Alucard: "He's disrespecting my mother's wish." Trevor: "Which is?" Alucard: " 'Do not hate humans. If you can't live with them, then at least do them no harm. For theirs' is already a hard lot'. That's what she said when you guys burned her at stake for witchcraft." Trevor: 😐
just the strange fact that it was NOT in the NES version. So the title is lying or is falsifying it. It is _ONLY_ on the FAMICOM version. Which has quite a few other differences! Im shocked TASvideosChannel would make such a mistake, thats why i say its shady practices.......
Dammit, now i have to go back and play this again! 😂 I love how the JPN version says "Ralph" instead of Trevor. Immediately made me think of Cheech & Chong's Up in Smoke 🤣🤣
Ugh. The Alucard path had the worst levels in the game, possibly in all of the Castlevania series. They handed you this new character with a lot of tricks and potential of flying, then had all his levels take place in tight corridors and annoying fixed screen falling block areas. So much wasted potential.
It's too bad, kinda a shame, there never actually was a good 'remake', remaster of Simons Quest or this, III.. I'd always felt it should have been worked on by konami for a Nintendo switch or something 😎
theres an error in the title.. it says NES Castlevania 3, but its FAMICOM, Akamujo Densetu. You can tell by the Music, The Jap lettering, the damage taken/damage done, and the strength of various powerups...
The thing that bothers me the most is that After SoTN they made it that Trevor Belmont. becomes Alucard for some damn reason when at first they were two different people in the Original Castlevania games
Man... 1:06? Really? So Konami was really out of time composing the tunes for their games haha. It's the same from Kid Dracula. I knew there was something about it. Just listen to the entire track, then move on to the following link at 0:13. th-cam.com/video/k2tWQpmCvI0/w-d-xo.html
this game came first, then Kid Dracula was made also, the one in Kid Dracula is a remix so it's not the same it is the same melody but different composition
The song is called Beginning, one of the most iconic songs in the franchise and it's usually used when Belmonts are about to kick ass. Get your facts straight.
Trevor is Stardard Grant is (Dracula's Curse) Mobility/ (Akumajou Densetsu) Mobility and Offensive Sypha is Offensive and Alucard is more Mobility than Offensive
I have noticed that on mobile devices (or at least mine), reds appear to pop out for some reason. Some weird parallax effect on the red LCDs, I guess. Not sure why, though.

I wish we had the option to get that version from the e-shop. Not only does it sound better, it has a more tolerable difficulty

This version was released on the famicom disk system(or fds for short) accessory for the famicom in japan

RaiAnne Dunlap NO It was released on a special cartridge that uses VCR6 sound chip in the cartridge for the audio

I can imagine Trevor , Sypha and Grant having an internal monologue that says : "Oh my God , the Tepes family is more messed up than I thought ."
god damn the audio is so much better
nice run, and VRC6 sounds great

@@AboveEmAllProduction its mentioned that they are using akumajo densetsu in the description
“He and Alucard love each other forever” 😂🙏🏻

Incredible run.
GG! Awesome speedrun.

7:50 avoiding death here is one of those "get the exact right jump angle" wizardry things, I'm guessing?

Came here, coz I watched Castlevania "Anime" about trevor (this game) on Netflix.

Right?
Too bad they doom their franchises to pachislot machines
I’m excited that the castlevania collection is coming!!!!!!!!!!! I’m splooshing
ótimo video ! parabéns ! voce é muito bom !
Opa, temos outro brasileiro por aqui.

I don’t think is necessary because they are the same game but different music
@@NinjaCacodemon_IsSus no not same game difference to difficulty, grant is different

Ragnarok Lords of Shadow is a crap. The gameplay is ok, but the story is poor compared to the original Castlevania line. Konami destroyed Castlevania.
Lord of Shadow is a different timeline.
LOS is non canon
Masterpiece!..
Me encanta el castlevania
Awesome !
There a passwords where you can play as all of the side characters from the very beginning. Why not just do a alucard cipher Grant TAS only
amazing

The famicon version, it says in the description. . .
@@scottrauch1261 Course. The Japanese get the good stuff. :P
Castle Vania: Dracula’s Curse.
Ok so Grant is fast and can climb walls, Sypha has op magic, and Alucard just sucks. Don't @ me

Trevor???
Trevor is Stardard

Sypha is Offensive
and Alucard is more Mobility than Offensive
Nice to see the TAS dominate the hardest level in this shit game
I need a Drácula's curse re-make
is it just me or does the thumbnail look 3D?! Anybody else with an S7 confirm this?
