    Standard ports and deck height? Any dyno papers with specs? These V4 two strokers are the definition of art.

      @RacingSM  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Modified portmaps and different head specs.
      No dyno :)

      From the picture,you use a modified spark-plug without insolator with a dialgauge with exstender to measure Squish? Thought of it myself. Thanks

    Now I think back, I don't remember hearing about anyone taking this little b-stard out to 700cc (2x350), which would surely be an obvious and irresistable temptation. But i guess someone probably did.
    Also, never realised it had a balance-shaft.

    We have one :) We confirm the torque values in the end

      in aviation this is a problem on opposed six cylinder engines, we've got special made cylinder wrench adapters that wrap around the sides of them and where the socket portion lines up the the centerline of the torque wrench so you don't have to calculate for additional leverage.

    I've found out that the RD350LC/Banshee cylinders are compatible with the RD500 engine block, but are the crankshafts also compatible?
    I'm asking this because there are several RD350LC/Banshee long stroke crankshafts but I haven't found one for the RD500.

    • @RacingSM
      @RacingSM  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The RD 350 YPVS cylinders are not plug&play on the RD 500 V4 crankcases, we also have an RD 350 YPVS and made that experience before. The RD 500 has 50mm stroke crankshafts, the RD 350 has 54mm stroke crankshafts.

    • @vinigretzky97
      @vinigretzky97 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      So, you haven't actually put them on a RD 500 crankcase?
      Do you know of someone who did it?
      I just can't find any information on that topic.

      That makes perfect sense even if You couldn't measure the crankshafts because the 350 is a double 175cc and the 500 is a quadruple 125cc...

    Why no lube on piston pins ? WD40 isn't assembly lube.

    Rebuild a 2 stroke engine and don't change pistons? are u mad ?

    • @-JX-
      @-JX- 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +VanFazzen Probably changed the rings only.

    • @100GTAGUY
      @100GTAGUY 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      if they micd em out and they were within specs it's all good. even airplanes don't get pistons changed all that often, one of the runnable motors in my class has thousands of hours, and hasnt had a piston change in quite some time. still within specifications, still flyable lol

    • @thomasnolte6295
      @thomasnolte6295 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the pistons are in good shape there's no need to replace them, sometimes just replacing the rings makes a huge difference and solves the problem completly. I've done that myself with a Honda CR 250 two stroke I used to have and it worked out fine, the bike seemed to be another one after a simple replacement of the rings.

    USED PISTONS? An adjustable wrench on the cylinder base bolts? LOL...These guys are TOTAL HACKS.... What a waste of time...
