- Interview with Shaun Ryder of the Happy Mondays and 60s singer Karl Denver discussing their collaboration on the track 'Lazyitis (One Armed Boxer)', released as a single on Factory Records in May 1989.
Karl ended up with pneumonia after spending four hours in the rain shooting the accompanying video.
Originally broadcast on 'Transmission' on British TV on 6 June 1989.
Happy Mondays are timeless. In this age of every album at your fingertips, Mondays are like a warm blanket. Love Shaun
If a band has occurred within your own lifetime then I don't know by what stretch of a limited imagination you can confidently guess that it's timeless. Bach and Shakespeare have survived the centuries, and even they might date. Then obviously the planet itself will explode like an insignificant bubble within the indifference of billions of years that follow. Nothing will recall our species. Nothing.
Lazyitis one of best Mondays tunes.

What a grin Shane has when Karl said "I've never seen any drugs passing."
Good answer Karl lol

With these fellas But don't know about the Scottish Fella
@@David-h4z2s Scottish Fella? It’s Karl Denver pal. This remix with him beats the original.

I love the live version of lazyitis with Karl dueting with Shaun, I think it's on the gmex live video.
It’s on Bummed remastered too. One armed boxer mix. Shame not on original bummed. My favourite Mondays album.
Great interview ,
Thanx for uploading this whoever's you are...
Fantastic!
Music history. And ½ sober!
That's how you respect your elders, even if it's not Karl Denver.

I have old pictures of myself and three or four mate's with the exact same hairstyle in 94-96 era
I feel for Karl, getting pneumonia after doing the video, standing in the rain for 4 hours. I had pneumonia in April 2019 and it was the worst I’ve ever felt in my life. I could hardly breathe, I had a temperature off the scale, coughing up green tar and no energy whatsoever. Trying to walk up a tiny set of stairs to my room, I had to stop 4 times. It’s a horrible thing to catch.
Had it,pice of piss
Bloody hell. I didn't know he got pneumonia. Especially after the video. Poor man
Track worked,
My God when I heard that collaboration, my first thought was what is this shit!
I might be wrong but I think shauns on something here. Can't put my finger on it. I might be wrong though.

Who cares what he looks like? Seen HM and BG in Brighton recently and both awesome, fun gigs. Recent interviews by Shaun are really interesting. The Don, the boss. Legend. Never been no disco model if you think about it leave that to Steps and Peter André. ❤🇬🇧👍
Who's uncle fester???
