Shaun Ryder is way smarter than people think he is. For someone that didn't do well at school, his lyrics are way better than most educated bands. He's a poet and a good one too.

I met Shaun when he was here in Australia, early 2000. He was mixing songs & performing at the Big Day Out concert. My friend & I arrived to the stage early, didn’t recognise him & he started chatting to us, really friendly. Then when we watched him perform & heard the familiar sounds of Happy Mondays & Black Grape, we were amazed. He’s a real top bloke & I’ll never forget how humble & friendly he was.
The mans come a long way to what we all saw on I'm a Celebrity. He's managed to mature but kept a lot of what made him that Salford Lad in the video. A WORKING CLASS HERO IS SOMETHING TO BE !!!!!!
The minute you get away from having fun and "just doin it", is the minute your music begins to stink. Thats why English music is so fucking great. If only interviewers would stop analysing and picking everything apart then examining the individual bits like a scientific examination.
Same as football. The media thread so many things into a team and a player. Somehow linking them to WW2 or the nation as a whole. Drives it all crazy and creates huge pressure. Sports psychologists say never read the ppaers to players. One told me himself. He worked with a top level tennis player I will not mention!
I was at an after Hacienda party once and was sat with a few people and Bez was there...I was tripping on acid at the time (when E's cost £25...not £3 like today...a £2 trip made financial sense), and Bez totally freaked me out. He had thousand yard stare that pierced straight through my head...it was fucking bizarre.
Tell you what sharky, they've done alright for a couple of thick Northerners! Bet you wish you were a couple of quid behind them! Quality band who turned out quality tunes! Whilst were at it, it's Bez not Bes and Don't Know not Don't no! Here endeth the lesson from another "thick Northerner"!
they actually look normal like this! japanese subtitles. didn't realise they were on japanese telly. i understand like only 30% of what they're saying LOL darling accents. "drogs and sax"
Mr Ryder has come a long way since this interview! Used to see him in the Barlecorn pub in Didsbury, chatting to himself while 'reading' a book!! Quality but a shame!
Except cid affects everyone differently, I've been able to converse on dots and nobody even knew, it isnt about getting "shit acid" its being able to control yourself, which many people cannot do.
To all the people saying that you can't take acid and talk like they are sorry but you're wrong. I lived in Manchester 89 - 92 we'd be out on the weekend & for the working week we`do often take strawberries & microdots topped up with a bit of bill. My boss just thought I was clumsy and we often had conversations. When you're bang at it your body and mind get used to it and it just becomes a light buzz. E`s and trips, bill and trips
Me too. Fucking mad isn't it? It's like watching the hooliganism at football and thinking the lads were really old and hard looking but seeing videos of the time they're just kids..getting old mate..

Now give us one example of something which would pass as poetry.

This same lady also had a battle getting anything out of the Roses.
Andy King do you have a tattoo Of The union jack

no
Legendary interview with John nd Ian like
It takes a while for people to fall in love with u but it’s inevitable
Yeah it is i think, hahahahahahahahahahahah
She's from Granada tv. Cant remember her fuckin name!!
This interview is basically the same as the roses
Except that the Roses had a lot more talent.

when they asked bez why he took so many drugs he said "cos its my job"
This was actually footage from their last interview at the job centre.
😅🤣
U reckon they would ever of turned up to an interview at the job centre? 😂😂
Don't be cheeky now about
Two legends of the game
Mr Ryder And Mr Berry👏🎤
Did they get the job
i love this interview, everytime i watch it it never gets old!
'Well we know how people see us but we're really not like that'.
'How do people see you'
'I don't know.....'
LOL
Absolute class takes me back a few years!!!
I can't get over their grins, sneaky fellas!
This is so hilarious!!
"don't know that,no idea..just do it." - - what an ending to an interview brilliant.
shaun, bez, paul, tony, ian, new order, martin hanett, happy mondays (...) people who will be reminded but never forgotten
"Do you think your reputation does proceed you, or what" How articulate!
Those boys aged really quickly. They went from fun-loving witty scallies to jaded old timers in 3 short years. I remember the early gigs with pride.
Omg I love them 😍💖 and they are from my home town madchester
These are good guys especially bez. Just down to earth lads doing what they want. Fair play to them.
Lol love it. They are so honest, that is a great quality, speak the truth, even if people don't like it!
The real life Beavis & Butthead.
how
how does it feel to know a real life beavis and butthead has achieved way more than you?

nice one pezz...i love bez ..what a star
The inspiration for the dumb and dumber characters including the haircuts
great footage.
Seeing Bez here, you can appreciate the lump of corned beef between his ears is still very much fresh today.
Happy Mondays & Stone roses are about equals, but the Mondays have more music and up to, "Yes Please" it is all quality!
This is more like a therapist session the way the interviewer's asking the questions
I'm doing my next job interview this out-of-it
So the movie 24 hour party people really was an accurate portrayal.
They look totally baked XD
Shaun Ryder what a legend ahaha
They were rolling during this clip!
who's the interviewer? isn't she the same one who interviewed Ian Brown and John Squire?
Yes.
I was at an after Hacienda party once and was sat with a few people and Bez was there...I was tripping on acid at the time (when E's cost £25...not £3 like today...a £2 trip made financial sense), and Bez totally freaked me out. Absolutely wrecked off their faces
How high do you think they are?? Man, what brilliant lads.
wrote for luck. wot a fuckin classic tune. shaun n bez r fuckin legends
Apart from jump about on stage what did Bez do in the band because he didn’t play any instruments did he ???
He had and still has the greatest job role in any band ever.

Is this the same interviewer who did the Roses? Similar style and voice.

They are acting like two cheeky boys. The interviewer must be very attractive because they are acting like she is.
Funny as.. They might just be a bit shy in the interview but you wouldn't bet against 'em bein' off it!!
