it's not a prototype. these kind of machines were built by private companies for media center use, likely near the end of the 360's lifetime, because it was cheaper than using PC parts. There's at least one known company in the US that built similar machines, can't put my finger on the name though. nice find, probably rare as hell nowadays
Great upload..👍 I personally loved the 360 over the Xbox1.. This has to be some kind of home build..My brother custom builds them with lights, adds HDs coolermasters, then adds an EVOX type of dashboard to upload your originals... I love these Frankenconsoles..🎮👍
Yeah, it has bad capacitors. Most of the issues with the 2005 Xenon 360 was lack of cooling over the GPU. This has a fan and extra space for more airflow so it might be fine if it was put together good.
Usually high rpm of fans could indicate dry thermal paste, try to repaste it and see if it helps. Also those caps need to be replaced as they might pop and leak and destroy the mobo.
My guess is that it is a retail Xbox 360 that has been modified. Similar to how people use to upgrade the CPU and RAM in the original Xbox to use as a media player.
I’ve never been a fan of Xbox 360. There were times I was a fan of certain games but, I wasn’t a fan of it. I’m a Sega fan and I was still dealing with the loss of Sega from the market. A loss I still am pained by today.
This is NOT a prototype, this is just some custom build, this is definitely not assembled by Microsoft it's nothing but a retail xenon board in a custom case. Calling it a "prototype" is nothing but click bait

> company
was it Niveus?
@@Rodrigo-ks6oc that's the name! they built passive cooled 360's that didn't have a disc drive if I recall correctly
@@DecibelAlex Yep!
They also built passively cooled HTPCs (Rainier and Denali)

Lian Li case, was meant as a replacement for the original Xbox case
It’s a custom Lian Li case!
Its just an aftermarket case. I use to have one, I think Lian Li made it.
those 2 holes on the back, with the rubber are probably for water cooling. a long time ago water coolers for pc's were external :)

That looks like the devkit to me. It should play copies 😂
My son had the first Xbox 360 back in the day, it died of RROD but was easy modded to play copies
😮 what is that for a frankenstein console? But might last a lot longer than the original
Yup, would be nice to make the fans sound a little less louder 😂
I used to make 360 PC mods just like that and laptops very cool to see one again 🤘🤓🤘 Nerdcore Hardcore
Lian Li makes some great pc cases

Why the audio is weird in the beginning?
I think the mic was set to sensitive.
RGH this lol
it's a Xbox Series Y 🤣🤣🤣
The metal covers on the inside isn't for heat it's so it can pass emission test
👍👍™️
