Tavon Austin's official junior year (2011) highlight video. Austin is WVU's dynamic WR/RB/Return Specialist who led the nation in all-purpose yardage in 2011. He also compiled 1,186 yards and 8 TD's on 101 receptions and was a 1st Team All-American selection*

Oh man Tavon is a true athlete.Fast and shifty.Hope nobody hurt their ankles that season.Loved his performance in the Orange Bowl representing my Mountaineers.The one game against Oklahoma I will never forget.He was put as running back and put up 300+ rushing yards.He’s a true legend in my book.

This man is going to make some NFL team very happy this year. I believe he is the best offensive weapon in this years draft. He is Percy Harvin 2.0 but even more illusive running with the ball. Completely uncoverable in the slot also. He will be great.

They need to play him at Tight End so that he can block for T-Bone.
they have him in the right spots but aren't calling the right plays to utilize his speed and athleticism. Do to his lack of size they should have him running more trick plays, or plays that have him in motion b4 the ball is snapped so he doesn't get jammed up. Also having him in bunch formation would be good also. Basically creative college type plays.

Yeah end around. End is somewhat of a trick play, it's a play that get's him in motion. Pretty much all the things I said previously about how he needs to be played. If they want him to be productive they should keep coming up with plays like that

The great thing about this kid is his incredible football intelligence. he always seems to know when to go out of bounds, or when to fight for the extra yards. he even covers the ball with both hands when contact is inevitable. hes going to make a big splash at the next level if he finds the right system to be a part of.

yeah, tavon runs his way to open field even when there is nothing there, look up "tavon's night" if you haven't seen it, he tore up oklahoma so bad. he has senior highlights also, but they don't even show a 10th of the amazing things he's done this year.

A couple things...
1. Austin plays in the slot. Not the outside.
2. SB put up crazy numbers last year too (school record for yards). He's got his work cut out for him to improve.
3. WVU is very deep at WR positions. It's not just those two tearing everyone up.

Just looked at his stats and you're right about Williams. It wasn't until he left Detroit that he fell off. My point was that it just used to feel like Detroit took a WR in the first round every year. But it wasn't like they had a QB to throw them the ball either.
And you don't have to defend Austin to me. Dude's awesome. I'll be curious to see exactly how he'll be used though. They'll have to keep him in the slot, but if you can get him the ball in some space he's a risk to break it every time.

that a understatement "probably", he is a projected 1st round pick. you need to see what he is doing in the big 12 this year, its flat out amazing, he had 572 all purpose yards against oklahoma sooners who have a great defense. he is making the players in the big 12 look like the players he was shitting on in highschool. it makes no sense!

Tavon and DAT are both both beasts and have great athleticism. DAT is explosive and fast, one cut and gone. Tavon displays more athleticism thru his ability to read the field and make something from nothing. Ones a RB/ Slot while the others a RB turned WR so their are similarities for sure. All I'm gonna say is it would be great to be a D1A coach and have both of them playing for you.
Players like Tavon are smart step out of bounds or just go down no reason to take unnecessary hits
