Stiffens up the front end a bit. The one every subbie should have is the under H brace and the fender braces. After those, maybe this one as far as front end bracing goes. This is not for looks and I feel that is why the car scene is SHIT now. People just throw things on their car and have no clue as to what it does or why they should have it. "LOOKSSICKBRO...BRO....BRO....OMFG SICK...TYTE"
Duke thank you cause I know what the under braces look like just I never seen that before on a car and I thought it was going to be like a safety thing but then I saw it was just kids on here and yeah down hill from there
It does nothing for performance. Fender braces actually helps for GD more than any other brace in the car. But nobody buys them anymore because all these kids are brand new to Subaru and just buy whatever's on rallysportdirect instead of reading what to buy.
Like the wheels on the blue one. Hate stretched tires w/a passion; it's a sign the owner is trying toooo hard to fit in...a flush, square set is where it's at and it doesn't draw unwanted attention...what does the brace brace? It to support the rad spt or the bumper?
Yeah, what is the front-brace actually bracing? Does it provide a mounting-point for extra fog-lights? Or, radiator support? Or, bumper mounting? Or, ???
Keegan Basse dude I hella appreciate that man I miss it too but we into bigger things brotha. Grab me on instagram g we can talk there @servinthegoodies
I like the Subaru crew thing only down side everyone always gets the same looking Impreza what about a gc8 a wagon a legacy maybe a forester idk still a bunch of nice Imprezas tho no hate just like diversity.
streched tires lose air every pothole u hit and the turns feel hella slippery. but i fucked up and got my car with them already but if i could get normal wheels i would.
The brace was designed with form and function in mind. Performance wise it does help tie the front end together for less flex. With additional bolt on braces i.e. Upper strut bar, lower subframe brace, outer apron brace, etc your whole chassis would be tied together which would be optimal in a road race or time attack situation. Hope this helps.
Buy proper fitting tires, you drive a Subaru not a Honda Civic man. Proper compound and threads style will change the drivability completely and you won’t worry about blowing a bead, love the subject gang mindset though guys
Don’t use tire sealant stuff.. it’s awful long term, throws off the balance of the wheel, and it’s a PITA to clean out when you go have your wheels mounted.
SubieTroops diego if you want aggressive look -neet bigger scoop (front bonnet) -gt wing suggestion wraping your car with colour you want , bronze. leave grill, roof, front & rear bonnet black. your headlight & bumper already awesome bro.
Title: "Every Subaru Needs This Front Brace!" *(has to comb through comment section after watching 12 minute video to find out what it does and why 'every Subaru needs it.')* freakin' kids smh.
When I designed and made this brace I had both form and function in mind. As another comment pointed out... it was inspired by the BMW f80 chassis. The whole concept is to have a unique custom made part that looks good and performs. The way that it bolts directly to the radiator support and directly to the front reinforcement bar mounting points on the frame rails it definitely adds rigidity to the front end. Good enough for BMW... good enough for a Subaru. Definitely NOT a gimmick
You can't just bolt some bent metal to stuff and say "it adds rigidity." The front end of a WRX is different from the front end of a BMW f80, why would you extrapolate flex data from a different car and assume it applies?
I've been in the collision repair business for 20+ years and do structural repairs daily. The brace that I make is actually more rigid than the f80 not only how it mounts but the material it's made of.
j0m017 Do you think the way I explained how this brace mounts, tying the radiator support directly to the frame rails essentially making them one unit, would make the front end more rigid, less rigid, or it would remain the same? (No matter what make or model of the vehicle). Compare your answer to bolting in a 4 or 6 point roll cage. Unless you don't think that adds rigidity either.
Of course it would be more rigid, but it lacks any engineering data to show efficacy. You are adding weight without data on the effective use of rigidity. The fact that you don't understand my statement shows that you lack the engineering knowledge to produce an effective part. You could weld an iron I-beam to the front of a car and make it more rigid, but it wouldn't be as effective as a well engineered aluminium part. Each bend in the sheet metal on the front end of a vehicle changes the flex angle of the structure, you can't use the same angles in your support as a completely different vehicle. Also, adding rigidity in front of the strut towers has a nominal effect on the performance of the car. If you didn't need a radiator support you could chop off everything in front of the struts and the car would perform the same.
Someone explain this front brace and why every Subaru needs it
khaliq الخالق you don’t need it mostly for show or ur car is a track. Car

what wheels and tire size does the widebody blob is on?
what is the point of the front brace performance wise?
