Getting bore sighted isn't getting zeroed, these are good for getting you on paper saving time and ammo but will still require a few shots to get you zeroed at your chosen distance!
However once you are zeroed fit bore sight back on the rifle and note the position of where the cross hair is on the grid for future reference 👍

Good suggestion, but the part about only getting you on paper was covered as someone else pointed out.

I've owned one of these for
Years. Good to get on paper
    Fast. With ammo prices up
Use a big target at 25 yards
To get on zero. Use a ballistics
    Calculator or extend Target
    Range from there. No arbor
For .17 or 50 cal. Good product
    To have.

A great video and review but you missed the greatest benefit of having this type of collimator. The first part is correct to get you close to target. Stage 2 is to zero at your chosen range. Stage 3 is to fit the collimator back on and read the Z and Y axis of the grid. You then write this down with the zeroed range. You can get your reframed for each range 30, 40, 50 meters etc. And then write down the X and Y axis for each. Then the next time you want to change or check your scopes zero you just adjust to the X and Y that you wrote down for that particular range. Also, you need to make sure that the retinal in your scope is exactly square with the collimator crosshairs.

.22 rifles bullet drops quickly, just a suggestion, when zeroing your scope, lower the elevation by. 5 to 1 box for say 100yrd to allow moa drop compensation then when firing you adjust windage. If your rifle is bedded correctly, barrel is straight, scope even pressure on rings and level, you should be good for target shooting. Great video though! Thanks

If you make a chart like this one you can sight all your scoped rifles in and mark down on the chart what power each of your scopes were on and what bullets weight and speeds and distance’s are and where on the chart you are sited in at with each gun .no shots ever fired again sighting in your scopes ,just put in the bore sighter next time and match everything up again

Would this work with an AR style rifle with a higher scope, maybe even co-witness?

+Steve Brown i have no idea i only used and shot bolt action rifles, i have no experience with the AR platform. as for the Bushel Bore Sighter in this video, i only use it with the bolt actions with standard base and scope rings for hunting scopes. sorry i could not be any help. thanks for the question.

Steve... this will not work as shipped for AR's (and other scoped rifles). The whole problem is that there's no way to change the height of the bore scope (collimator) to coincide with the sights, or horizontal line in the rifle scope reticle. It looks to me like someone figured this out a long time ago and filed a Patent which Bushnell seems reluctant to pay royalties and such for. You can however use your mind to come up with something that will enable you to use the arbors and the collimator. For a rifle scope you need to measure and calculate the center line of the barrel and the rifle scope centerline. that distance is the distance you need to raise the Bushnell collimator. For iron sights... you need to know distance from the barrel centerline to the top surface of the front sight blade. The centerline of the collimator needs to be set to this distance. This will position the front sight/collimator such that the rear sight should be in a neutral position when the elevation is adjusted (this is your starting point). Basically what we're doing here is getting rid of geometry errors based on sighting lines. If you make a mount for each of your rifles and or pistols, you will have a good setup... I have yet to use a LASER bore sighter that worth anything.

Scope height is the problem, so I use the grid to just adjust for horizontal and shoot @ 15 yd to get on paper

Once you have got the scopes cross hairs lined up to the center of the squared grid, is this then zeroed to 100 yards?

Level, level, level is wasted money. You only need to level the rifle on it's rail, attach scope, hang a weighted string/yarn from overhead (plumb bob), set vertical reticle by the string. Fast and easy.

Christopher Bost ...Agree 100%, however, that is mounting a scope and squaring it to the bore. This video obviously shows the NEXT step....boresighting.
