Really enjoyed this format but yes pizza charts are far better. I don't know if is just me but I like how the numbers gives you a real perspective of the quality of a player.
I know your done with skin making but if you or someone who helped with the skin could add the faces with those details a quick glance would actually be awesome.
I've not contemplated this in a skinning context, but the approach would be similar to what already exists, with broader boundaries. You'd need to create icons, custom classes, but otherwise the methodology would stay the same. If you have dabbled in skinning it should be reasonably straightforward to take what I've done before as a base, and then just work on layout. Quite time consuming, though. If you haven't, it's gonna be a nightmare.
I absolutely love the new presentation of the players and their stats. Took me until near the end of the video to get a hang of, but I restarted and watched it again and I had no difficulties understanding the basic performance metrics of each player within a few seconds. Much faster to grasp than looking at a pizza chart, honestly! Thank you so much for your hard work, you’re keeping my interest in FM alive while I’m waiting for the new game to come out.
Much appreciated, dude. I expect it will take a while for people to get used to them, but they should hopefully provide a high level overview at a glance. And should be especially useful ahead of FM25 when I won't be skinning, so there quite possibly won't be any pizza charts anymore!
I’d love to see a series of Moneyball Clinic where you have say 5 seasons with Dortmund (or another team) with a season per episode. I absolutely LOVE these videos & just want to see a continuation of the great teams you build
There is certainly consideration with this Dortmund save; the biggest restriction of course is time. The more time/episodes spent on one team, the fewer other teams that can be covered in the future. There is at least 3 videos planned with this one, though: Part 2 this Friday. Then, a bonus video on an entirely different channel (date unknown)
@ great to hear that more Dortmund videos are coming! Personally, my favourite part of moneyball is seeing it implemented over multiple seasons. Seeing players you buy be sold on for a profit for example. IMO I would rather see single teams have multi episodes with 1 season each instead of lots of teams have 1 season each. Just my personal preference of course!
@@gregreynolds7648 I appreciate the feedback. Obviously I am very mindful that multi-part series have diminishing viewership, even in short series, and so it will only ever be done on select occasions. Ultimately, this is a vehicle to showcase players at the start of the game who might be a little under appreciated, and to talk about how to tailor tactics specifically to a team.
That is very kind, thank you. I certainly find the data side interesting, but I can also understand why people tend to steer away from it. To many it can be boring. To others confusing. To some, both!
Absolutely! I maintain that the reason Brazil have lost their strangelhold on international football is purely due to them abandoning the Brazilian box.
I almost wonder if you could put those profiles on top of the screen and the pizza charts just below them. From what I can tell there's space based on how you formatted things. But that's just my thought, don't know how much more difficult that makes things for you.
Space...well, size actually...is certainly a consideration. The text that accompanies the pizza chart is very small, which isn't great for those viewing on mobile or tablet (or TV that's the other side of the room). Icons (with a key above) essentially makes that information 5 times bigger, whilst otherwise having a smaller footprint. That last bit means that it could actually be presented with different backgrounds. For example, I could have a highlight playing in the background with a mini profile popping up and not obscuring what's going on. There is also a time consideration. Pizza charts for aggregated data take about 10 minutes per player (just the graphics, not the animating/video editing). This is fine - when it comes to data within a specific save: that doesn't need to be created externally (although in-save pizza charts means I can't then easily highlight a single segment). Having pizza charts throughout is consistent. But I do also have one eye on FM25. I won't be making a skin - I don't even know if it will be possible - and that probably means no pizza charts. Generating them by hand both for aggregated data and in-save data is likely to be a step too far. But it's all experimentation at this point. I'm taking the feedback on board, and keen to hear what people have to say.
What a nice way to end my day by watching this. Would you ever consider going into a lower German divison? Im a big Rot-Weiss Essen supporter and would love to see how you would turn the ship around.
In terms of these episodes, it's unlikely, I'm afraid. A data set from the Top 30 leagues isn't going to be very helpful at that level (in terms of the whole concept being that I'm using those simulations to inform decisions for a sort of "rebuild" in the first season of the game). If this series expanded the data set down to lower divisions, you're looking at hundreds upon hundreds of leagues, and that will take a very long time (assuming my PC doesn't break)
No, as explained, they are for the purpose of videos to show information aggregated from multiple simulations (because that's not something that can be shown in game)
@@mustermannfm ok then, it would be a cool feature if u added it into your skin as well as the pizza charts, i feel it's a great feature for simplyfiying some aspects of you skin for certain senarios.
@@MaxiTaxi_11 thank you for the suggestion. Just for clarity, as it may have been mentioned after you left the stream (although was mentioned with the last skin update) - I have "retired" from skinning. Whilst I might make tweaks here and there for specific purposes, there will be no more updates/public releases, nor will there be a FM25 skin
Hey, how do you go about setting things up? I like the rebuild idea and want to try it out, but Im too much of a noob to understand how to get started (initial set up like countries, loading the first year data etc)
I tend to choose countries surrounding the nation I'll be managing, and those with a large diaspora. You can't load the first year data; you just have to play. As mentioned in the intro, I performed multiple simulations across the Top 30 leagues, and aggregated everything for the purpose of these videos. In your save, you'll just need to play until data has been accumulated.
Well, you can loosely extrapolate it. For example, this Dortmund team generated 0.35 xA per game from set pieces in the league. And 1.84 xA per game across all competitions. Let's assume it stayed consistent. That's 1.49 open play xA per game. We also had about 3.1 set piece key passes per game. Therefore Terzic's 1.21 set piece key passes per game, would account for roughly 0.14 of his 0.28 xA, despite being lower than half of his total key pieces. But that also dismisses the importance of set pieces. Players who are consistently delivery set pieces into the right area are an asset, and chance creation isn't any less valuable because it came from a dead piece situation.
As a Floridian and life long Tampa Bay Buccaneer fan I'm sorry about Jameis "Crab Legs" Winston being your QB in Cleveland...sidenote I'm also sorry Baker Mayfield has turned his career around in Tampa seemingly to spite your organization...happy holidays :D
That 30/30 season was incredible. Like it's such a weird position to be in. To be bad enough to throw 30 interceptions, but good enough to not get benched.
I forgot to select all competitive matches for my selected leagues but still have player stats in January. Will these be enough or should I restart or select “competitive matches” and play on until the end of the season before making signings?
I'd keep it on the detail settings you have until the end of the season. That way you'll have consistent data collection throughout that season. Just be mindful when comparing players who have played in different detail levels. E.g. your players will be in full detail, so they can't easily be compared to players in other leagues. But players in other leagues can be compared against other players in different leagues. After the season ends, and before the new season, then change them to full detail.
@ thanks so much for your reply. I understand where you’re coming from. Could not having all “competitive matches” turned on, be the reason my scouts struggle to find many players?
It shouldn't be. Worth taking a look at your recruitment foci. Dan Gear wrote a great blog about them on View From The Touchline, but I think that site is down for maintenance at the moment - it might be worth digging around to see if it can be found somewhere else.
make it with just images leaving more space for other things , good idean icons and button same time, press the icon and see the data. nice idea even better presentation
Patreons get access to all my non-public resources, which includes unreleased skins (mainly things I use on videos). Bear in mind these are unsupported - there are no updates/fixes coming for them and often only work in specific scenarios: at a specific resolution or game mode, for example.

absolutely the best fm creator out there. focus on statistics over attributes is smth super interesting that people dont ever seem to emphasize

Lovely video as always. I have a question I always wanted to ask. Is the expected assists stat open-play expected assist?
No, it's not. Whilst you can vew that on a competition level, it appears to be unaccessible anywhere else.
@@mustermannfm Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I don't like the xA to be affected by set pieces. But what can we do about it 😓

Will you do an Osasuna video Mustermann?
You went to Southern Spain to manage Sevilla, you should go to Northern Spain too 😂

the better touch is during the game at the players ribbon side of the player icon the info that you implement .GAME BREAKER ....PLEAAAASE release it
