Lifts and overhead shots don't feel very good while playing a flat driving game with them is still fun. Shuttle feels heavy and punishing that if you hit it off centre on an overhead hit, it might break the racket frame. If you clear the shuttle with a normal form and power, it's going to be a homerun and go too far.
Thanks for the comment! We did feel that clears depended which way the wind was going. You might be able to see on the video that Jenny was hitting into the wind and had to hit it a lot harder than I did 💨
Many years ago I played outdoor badminton with some friends. I used a feather shuttle, but added weight into cork by screwing a small screw into the back of the head. Worked really well :-)

Many kids and youth in South asia do play lots of outdoor badminton even with normal plastic and feather shuttles. AirShuttle will be really nice for them ❤️❤️
At Bukit Hijau hiking trial Penang Malaysia I am a member of a group playing outdoor for at least 10 years. Recently we tried two new designs but we reverted back to the nylon shuttles. We tried AirShuttle and the Feather-like shuttle and both were not to our liking. @@arvindkatie The BWF recommends playing in wind speeds of less than 12 km/hr. We have tried to play in wind speeds of 11 km/hr but found it quite difficult!
How about smash. Worried if you accidentally smash the shuttle with full swing it can go up to 300km/h. The faster speed smash world record with 5gm feather shuttle is 400+ Km/h. How about with 9gm air shuttle. Could be the speed more that that? Plus in the outdoor environment where one side have an advantage with the wind stream. Think if is its hits the opponent eye. Hi Rudy, We would be interested to test the top speed of the AirShuttle as you are right, it may be faster due to its increased weight! The court markings explained in our other AirBadminton video (th-cam.com/video/ADZle1nCHW8/w-d-xo.html) show the 'deadzone' at the front. This should reduce this risk, however there is of course still a small risk.

Very nice review, however I don't understand why you are comparing it to 'normal badminton' when the rules of airbadminton are different. There are no drop shots or net shots because there is a deadzone in front of the net.
Thanks for your comment, as part of the review we wanted to compare AirBadminton to 'normal badminton' which is why we did this! A lot of people at the moment can't play outside so we thought they may want to see the difference. We are aware of the rules of AirBadminton and were careful not to go into too much detail on these as many people may not have access to court markings and also a net! - In the BWF promo video they did not even have a net for a lot of the clips! We're hoping that this just allows people to have some fun playing badminton outside, even if they don't follow the new AirBadminton rules!

Yes the airshuttle is heavier so can break strings more easily, it is recommended to reduce the string tension of your racket! You can easily get your racket restrung! Unlikely to be because of the cheap racket!
As we showed in the video, the AirShuttle weighs 8 grams, and a feather + plastic both weigh 5g - unfortunately our scales don't have the decimal point for further accuracy!

You dumb?
I used on of these yesterday and after a couple of hits, it went straight through my strings and made a big hole. My racket only cost me about 40 pounds. Do you think it is just because I have a cheap racket? I'm a total beginner.
Yes the airshuttle is heavier so can break strings more easily, it is recommended to reduce the string tension of your racket! You can easily get your racket restrung! Unlikely to be because of the cheap racket!
Hi, guys! Can you figure out what weight does it have exactly in 0.0 grammes?
As we showed in the video, the AirShuttle weighs 8 grams, and a feather + plastic both weigh 5g - unfortunately our scales don't have the decimal point for further accuracy!
@@BadmintonInsight thank you!
I play outdoor everyday , I rarely get a chance to play indoor
That's great to hear!
Where is this park?
In Milton Keynes!
@@BadmintonInsight looks good. Your videos are good. Cause of covid lockdown have not played for a year but getting back. Hope no more lockdowns! Can you do a smash video side on an in slow mo? I know it's specific but I think that may help me work out where in front of me the shuttle should be...
Both left handed?
Let the pickleball courts be taken over now muhahahhaa

Haha, yes! We are engaged to be married 🤗
This is so stupid.
both are hobby players ! hand and racket position completely wrong ! improve and then teach !
What planet are you from?
😂😂😂😂😂They play international badminton lol, if you think their technique is wrong then I'm afraid you're the one that is mistaken
They’re literally ranked *67th in the whole world*
If you think they have incorrect technique and shouldn’t be doing reviews, feel free to play either of them and see how that goes 😂 _(cough cough 21-0 cough cough)_
Recently they almost beat fellow English pair beat Ellis/Smith, who later reached the semis of All England 2020, and are ranked 9 in the world
I guarantee Greg could beat you with his right hand 😂😂
@@pleaseenteraname9414 Imagine they have correct technique according to this guy. They would have been an olympic champs!
