Not today. Just a recharge. Nothing crapped out the first one had been sitting for some time and just seeped out. The other one I did a motor swap in and the system was open for a while. Sense nothing broke or came apart there was no need to do the dryer or orifice tube.
I see, since all the ones i did were a total blow out that makes sense. It’s been a long time since ive done that work and now i have had m.s for longer than 10 years it’s hard for me to remember….im sure it makes people crazy …to hear simple questions but thats how it goes sometimes. @@bayoudiesel
@@chrisallen3741 never any bad questions. That’s how we learn. I struggle between breaking things down too much or skimming over them. You can fall into a trap of thinking everyone already knows this or that. But everyone is at a different stage of their education and this stuff requires experience which is gathered over time. You have to break it down as far as needed to reach the level of experience you are teaching.
Love the intro....now that is what a REAL TRUCK sounds like! All gas burners and the crappy New diesel engine trucks sound like light weight cream puffs in comparison. Tim Allen would be proud!!
Well thanks for that. My absolute favorite part of playing with these old trucks is the sound of them running. And why would anyone want a diesel that doesn’t make any noise.
Nice video I never had a clue when it came to AC. I was always at the mercy of others who definitely Stick it to you. I was just wondering when you draw down the system where does the contents of the system go when it's being drawn down?
When drawing down the system this way the Freon has already been recovered. And if damage happened like the compressor went out you would have already replace the necessary parts and sealed it back up. The first truck had been sitting for a while and Freon leaked out. The other was a motor swap so the ac system was opened for a while. Drawing them down removes all moisture and slows you to make sure you have no more leaks before charging.
So, you dont flush it? Or put new little inline filter?
At my shop we were allowed to not do those things…i guess when you are not in a shop you wouldnt have to
