How HOT is too HOT?

TRUE TEST. Splitting firewood; testing hydraulics cylinder (feels HOT)

Thats definitely too hot. Would need to add some sort of hydraulic oil cooler on the return hose to cool it down, or use it less. Heavy equipment i have worked with will usually throw a code at around 180 to 185 for Hyd overtemp.
