You are so kind. These little guys make me smile. It's hard not to make them "too comfortable around me" as they are wild, but I have become their second Mom for sure. We were on vacation last week and I just worried so much about them. They were fine of course!

The camera doesn't do it justice, the sun was covered by the moon then came out more, more and more. It was really cool. The news said we would totally go dark - that did not happen, but it did get darker almost like the sun setting.

Thank you, we were really hoping to hear from some loggers. We appreciate your feedback. We did expect some loss of additional trees and a mess from the tops. It just looks more like a tornado instead of logging to us. Glad to read your comments with your generation of experience. Very cool.

Yes, our biggest issue is with the salesman's purely just selling the job. Then the lack of communication between the salesman (who also is over the entire project) and the logger to what our agreement was for our property. The logger did say he got rid of some "junk trees" that the state of Indiana doesn't want to keep which was beech trees. We wish he would have asked us although Indiana did want them, we did. It just makes more of a mess with more trees down. Beech trees have some value, but our understanding is that it's pretty low. Thank you for your thoughts much appreciated.

Other than outside furniture and a fence they didn't take out anything like the garage or house, thankfully! To us it looks like a tornado hit.

Totally agree, we feel that our property was disrespected. We expected somewhat of a mess from logging. We didn't expect them to cut down 4 trees that wasn't supposed to be taken to get to the one they wanted. Which made a bigger mess and loss.

The contract was for 99 trees. Unfortunately, they took down approx. 4 trees (per marked tree) that wasn't supposed to be removed; so they could get to the one they had marked which left a bigger mess and much more loss of trees that shouldn't have been affected. We got a Christmas mess, and the money simply was not worth it.

Oh boy, John normally does EVERYTHING and this time he didn't he is totally kicking himself. I have heard your comment (by him) over and over again. I don't think he will be retiring anytime soon or slowing down. LOL

Actually, they did take down a fence and outside furniture. In addition, they landed trees on their skidder. So, at least we still have a house. LOL

We so agree! It's hard to find people to do a good job and who are honest. You are lucky to get either honest or a job well done.

Rich is in the eye of the beholder. We have spent a life time working for what we have the same as everyeone else. We are no different and expected to be treated with respect and dignity as I would treat you. Being honest should be everyone's core value even in business.

Expecting there to be no damage from falling trees without paying big $$$ is beyond absurd. You are delusional. Were you PAYING them to do this work? Or did they do so in exchange for logs? What were terms going in? You clean the tops up? Then you got exactly what you paid for. @@BackHomeWithUs

True, however the loggers took out far more trees to get to the trees they wanted which has been the problem. It's a bigger mess for us and less revenue later as those trees have been loss. It was to be selective logger in order to have less damage and loss of trees.

It's approx. a 50-year-old blade - literally found it in the neighbor's woods (they gave it to me) and at that time I put a new bolt in it. It does the job for free!

I tell him the same thing all the time! He says, "he doesn't have a great answer". At least he doesn't try to fake having a reason. Thank you for your comment. I totally agree safety is important!

We feel that our property has been disrespected. We still don't know how we will proceed but we did meet with the owner of the company. It was a good initial conversation (we think) but there needs to be more conversations had for sure.
