Honestly it's probably because Riot just kind of redid Varus really haphazardly and without much deep storytelling. He's supposed to be a resurrected Darkin now, but his visuals and gameplay don't reflect that at all, and people also didn't like that Riot just kind of threw 2 gay lovers and a Darkin into one body cus it felt like a lazy representation PR stunt. The idea that they are still fighting back against Varus' control is an interesting story element to explore, but otherwise it feels lackluster. I mean Rhaast even says something about that in-game: "Really? A bow and two boys? What was your plan, Varus?" Edit: autocorrect got me again
The scene of the city being destroyed by the power of the World Rune on the Call of Power cinematic is mostlikely what Heimerdinger was afraid of happening on the Arcane series.
@@youdontknowme2913 It definitely wasn't Icathia, Shurima fell thousands of years before Arcane's timeline, and Icathia even before that. It most likely were the Rune Wars, which happened a few hundred years earlier.
@@ninjatoriumnova2483 a mage in t Icathia used runes to open portal for void to their world. It's been hinted in arcane again and again bye heimer. Hiemer wasn't born during that period.
4:15 - Fun fact, in the chorus of As We Fall the vocals in the background are long and slowly fade away, like something falling somewhere very deep. It's a metaphor for the fact that Valmar and Kai are slowly drowning into Varus's corruption.
The guy in “Call of Power” is Ryze. He’s basically good guy Thanos, attempting to collect the world runes across Runeterra so no-one else can use them. The fiery-flashback is most likely to his previous apprentice, Brand. Brand tried to use a world rune and was consumed by it, exploding into flame and becoming a fiery hellspawn.
As We Fall is situated in Ionia, a pacifist archipelago in the northeast of Runeterra that's facing the invasion of an expansionist empire called Noxus. The couple in the video are Valmar (the temple's new guardian) and Kai (a soldier defending his homeland). Kai was severely wounded in the battle. In one last attempt to save his husband, Valmar takes him to the temple's magic well, said to contain an unrestricted amount of power which he thought could save Kai. But that power was being drained from and used to seal an ancient and corrupted warrior-god called Varus. Varus offered them a deal: he would save Kai's life in exchange for their bodies. Once they accepted, Varus merged their bodies into one and was reborn anew, freed from his imprisonment. Now he wanders throughout the land, seeking retribution on those who destroyed his homeland, Shurima; on those who annihilated his people and also looking for his long lost sister, Valeeva
@@Zelphyn I know it might look like that, but no, Varus did not consume nor kill Valmar and Kai. That is made very clear on the tale "Dark Kin" and in the comics "Heartlight/Retribution". Varus merged the bodies as one, but the souls of Val and Kai co-exist inside his head. Varus can't do as he pleases because there's two guys always fighting back his desires and stopping him. It's like Rhaast and Kayn in his initial form. Actually the fact that the couple is still alive, resisting Varus's power is what's stopping him from completely taking over like Aatrox did with his last vessel. Their love is one of the only thing powerful enough to set back the fury of a Darkin, reversing corruption and preventing him from doing everything he wishes.
The entity in As We Fall is a Darkin. The Darkin are corrupted ancient warrior-gods from the Shuriman Empire. Thousands of years ago, the most brave and worthy people were chosen by the Sun itself to receive a sacred sparkle, which would grant them immortality, magical powers and anthropozoomorphic bodies. Many women and men went through this process (called Ascension) and lived for many years as gods amongst humans. One day, a kingdom called Icathia unleashed creatures from a nether dimension called The Void, trying to destroy Shurima. They were wiped out the map by the creatures and Shurima was put under constant attack. The Ascended Gods defended their home for over 3000 years, but after so much time in war, they started losing their minds, some sort of PTSD. After that they basically became pure evil and people started calling them Darkin. One by one, these gods were murdered. Those they couldn't murder they imprisoned inside weapons. Nowadays there are only 5 left: Varus, Aatrox, Rhaast, Valeeva and Xoolani. Varus wants to reunite with his sister. Aatrox and Rhaast want chaos. Xoolani and Valeva are missing. They haven't introduced the last two yet.
@@bloodknyte that's the old lore. it's been updated, I think during Aatrox' rework. even though the darkin used blood magic to restore their bodies that isn't the cause of their corruption.
yes that is..Ryze master was a wizard in charge to get the runes and seal them, but he became corrupted by their power and use one to burn down a entire city. Ryze watched this in person.. he killed his old master and take on himself seal the runes onece for all... he has bein gtraveling the world searching for them for at least a few centurys
the runes are in fact usable by anyone with any knowledge abput magic, which is why ryze seals them away because its the equivalent of having a rouge nuke in the hands of any mage of any power level since the rune itself holds so much of it, enough to shape the entire world of runeterra
The place where Ryze stored the runes, you might have noticed that it was made of pure white trees. That's petricite trees. They absorb magic. So you can see how Ryze was so drained just being there. That's why he chose that place to store the runes.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames And also a thing to know, Demacia, a heavy anti-magic place, uses petricite in their city walls to absorb magic. Also a small fact: petricite is also used in demacian prisons that hold mages, not just for walls, but also for shackles or chains. A way to know this is that Sylas, an ingame champion who was imprisoned in demacia for magic, has a passive ability called "petricite burst", which does damage in a circle around him after using an ability. This happens cause he still has the chains and uses them as a weapon, after using an ability, the petricite absorbs the power, which is then bursted out. You already saw Sylas in Warriors music video, the guy that threw a chain was him.
Those colorful stones are called "World Runes", they are the the rune that creates "Runeterra", the world where all stories take place in League of Legends universe.
According to the lore Ryze is way too powerful. When he says "some say i hold too much power" it is absolutely true. He's VERY powerful and very old. And those crystals are World Runes. A world rune is EXTREMELY powerful. I am not sure if it is the whole rune we see in this cinematic or actually a fragment of it though. A human, once tempted by it's power, touched the Rune of Domination (the same Ryze is holding in that cinematic) and he became Brand the champion in league of legends. A burning fire demon and wiped out a good chunk of the league map in that process. You can actually see the crater on the map. And yes these were the world runes(seeds) heimerdinger was talking and warning about. I think the person soaring into the sky in his short memory vision is supposed to be Brand. But that is only a guess - could be wrong there because in this cinematic a similar scene of Ryze himself is seen when Ryze is letting go of the rune to place it there underground to keep it at a save place so no one else is tempted by it as he was once. Therefore, he vowed to find the world runes and bring them to a save place like below this tree in the forest of Demacia which can absorb large amount of magic and therefore keep the runes safe. With his teleportation magic he can enter it effortlessly (this scene's music gives me strong star wars vibes ^^). The Rumors of Ryze being the wizard in Arcane who rescued Jayce and his mom in ep2 is because his ultimate ability in game is teleportation. He can teleport himself and his team anywhere in the map. Which he did in Arcane. He teleported all of them in order to save them from freezing in the cold. Regarding the World Runes - there are 5 in total: leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Rune Domination Precision Resolve Inspiration Sorcery As for Arcane, I have the theory that we already see the elements of the runes in S1: the sorcery (unrefined hex crystals = raw magic). -Then, if you piece together the golden tattoo's /amor of Mel Medarda this makes the precision rune(I believe either that or the hex core connected to Victor will save at least a part of the council in the final of S1). The color green symbolizes the rune of resolve so I believe the firelights/Ekko might be contributing to that element while Noxus could be incorporating the domination rune (red). The hex core is corrupted by shimmer(or supposely the void) and it is still incomplete because you can only see 4 of the 5 rune symbols on it. Imo the book from Sky will give the missing hint there because it heavily teases the inspiration rune (in shape and color) and Sky's last inner thoughts heavily emphasize repeatedly on "inspiration". I think we will see more in S2 and if that theory proves to be true or complete garbage ^^
Thanks so much for this wealth of info 😀 Especially learning the names of the Runes and what they represent 🙂😀 appreciate the Arcane theories as well 😁
Yeah the ide that Ryze is "way to powerful" is an understatment to be fair. Not sure exactly how high he would be ranked in terms of power but he would most definatly be inside the top 20 and considering that there are about 8 godlike caracters in there that says something about hes power. I havent looked deep at Ryze lore in quite a while but isent the reson why he is so powerful becouse he´s body is directly linked to rune magic.
If you notice in Arcane during that flashback scene with Jayce and his mother, someone rescued them from that cold place and teleported them. Many players think it was Ryze who did it(based on his powers here and since he is called a Rune Mage) and somehow they ended up with the stones as well.
what a powerful lines ryze said "the strength to let it go" because he collected it all and seal it instead of abuse the runes power. its dangerous to hold a power that big, the runes itself so powerful like ryze said "it can drain ocean, burn skies"
If u noticed. When Ryze had Flashback of the distruction. It was the same what Haimerthinger saw. So thos stones are the raw version of Arcane. Or Gem-Stones
I am not sure if someone already explained this part, but here: The forest with the underground cave, where Ryze put the world runes is made out of petricite. Petricite is a magical substance, which absorbs magic into itself. Though Demacians seem to think this ability isn't magical itself (ignorant Demacians...). Petricite is also used as the building material of the Demacian capital and for Petricite Golems, made by the Durand family. And the armor of the Vanguard and their weapons are coated in petricite to protect the soldiers from magic attacks.
Yay, more League of Legends from the ultimate reaction legends themselves. These were definitely a lot of fun! I also finally watched Arcane, and it was awesome. Cheers!!!
In the Call of Power cinematic..where Ryze teleports in to the chamber that holds the world runes. That entire forest is made up of Anti-magic a perfect place to hide runes from mages. Also that shows how powerful he is to even teleport or use magic.
As We Fall shows two archers that get possessed by Varus a darkin that was sealed in the well, welcome aboard is an alternate universe from the skin line of Odyssey and Call of Power shows Ryze collecting the runes that where used to create the world to prevent a second Rune War to happen
I don't think Ryze had the ability to view the past or future of these stones, rather he has been there when the destruction was unleashed and has traumatic flashbacks to these events. Edit: Also, he said that his greatest power is the strength to let it go, but he was weak then. So he probably caused a lot of destruction himself.
Youre right about Ryze collecting the World Runes and hiding them. That's what Call of Power is about, Ryze going around Runeterra looking for the World Runes. You might remember Necrit talking about it briefly in the lore video you watched a while back.
Welcome Aboard is for an alternate skin universe. It's for the Odyssey skinline, which is kind of in the style of Guardians of the Galaxy. As We Fall tells the story of how Varus, one of the Darkin, was freed. The Darkin were ancient Shuriman ascended like Nasus, Renekton, and Azir. However, the Darkin got corrupted by the void and essentially went mad once Azir died. In their madness, they essentially became brutal warlords of the Shuriman continent and invented blood magic. They eventually were sealed away into their weapons by the previous aspect of twilight (Zoe's predecessor). This kept them from causing more chaos, but thousands of years later a few were freed when mortals took hold of the weapon sealing the Darkin and were possessed. The three we know are free are Aatrox (who is fully in control and rampaging, killing indiscriminately), Rhaast (who is still in his scythe and is fighting for control of Kayn's body), and Varus (who was the one in As We Fall). In As We Fall, the two men were lovers, but as one was dying they sought out the magic well where Varus was sealed, not knowing what was within. Varus ended up fusing their bodies together and taking control, but not entirely, as the two men still fight him for control. Call of Power tells the story of Ryze and the World Runes. The World Runes are essentially magic nukes used to create Runeterra and are the source of all magic. Thousands of years before the present, mages had found these runes and used them to fight wars. This era was known as the Rune Wars and caused mass devastation. In fact, if you look at the map of Runeterra, the huge gulf next to Noxus is actually a crater where their neighboring country used to be. The Rune Wars is actually what led to the creation of Demacia, as many refugees fled to the region where the Petracite Forests were, as the material Petracite absorbs and nullifies magic. The Petracite Forest is where Ryze is bringing the runes in Call of Power. Ryze and his master were mages from the Blessed Isles (what became the Shadow Isles) who sought to find and seal away the World Runes so they wouldn't be abused again. However, Ryze's master eventually got corrupted by the Rune's powers and Ryze was forced to kill him. Later on, Ryze took on an apprentice, but he too became corrupted by power and became Brand. Brand is the one who caused the devastation in Ryze's vision. The other clips of Ryze fighting with all sorts of people are kind of easter eggs of him working with a bunch of different champions to find the World Runes.
My favorite easter egg of the Ryze cinematic, is that you can still see how the top part of his scroll is cut/ripped from his fight with Nocturne in the Twist of Fate cinematic.
As We Fall is very confusing for those not fully educated on the lore of runeterra (the world where league takes place). So, in there at the start we see a couple. One of them is clearly injured gravely and the other brought him to those waters as it is rumored they can bring the dead back and heal any injury. However, they did not know that was a trap as an ancient evil was within the waters. So, when they were in the well they were essentially fighting off this ancient evil, known as a Darkin. However, this Darkin, whose name is Varus, could not break the lovers, as their love was too strong. So, instead of totally taking over their body as he wanted, he merged with them. All three of them are within this body and it is the love of the couple that stops Varus from totally taking over the body and being unleashed onto the world.
Ok before I get into the video themselves I'll refresh the Darkin for you since the first 2 vids have 2 in them. The Darkin are Shuriman Ascendants like Nasus, Renekton, and the King himself Azir, but these guys actually fell to corruption a long time ago after a terrible conflict with the Void. They went carzy, tried to destroy the world, you know the drill. They were defeated by the Celestials and Aspects and then as punishment their physical bodies were destroyed and their souls trapped in their weapons. There are 3 confirmed Darkin in Game with 1 teased in lore. Aatrox who've you seen, giant guy with giant sword. He completely possesses his victims with little effort, using them up until he needs a new one. Rhaast and Kayne are a different story. Rhaast the scythe is trying to find an opportunity to possess Kayne's body completely but the shadow ninja is powerful and 1 wrong move and Rhaast would loss himself to Kayne. There's actually a mechanic in-game for them. Kill Tanks & Melee champs? Rhaast takes over. Kill enough Ranged or Support champions? Kayne takes Rhaast's power for himself. He's the evil dude in the Odyssey trailer that Jinx has a crush on..... Last there's Varus, in the "As We Fall" video we see the lovers Valmar and Kai after a battle probably with Noxus, one severely wounded and the other trying to save him. See the Well is supposed to be a magical spring that could heal any wounds. Not knowing it's actually Varus's prison. One amazing video later and boom Varus corrupted and combined the 2 of them together to make a suitable host for his bow. But the lovers are said to be still in there fighting for control. Last teased Darkin is Varus's sister. And in lore his current objective is to find her. Odyssey trailer is just that a trailer for one of their lore driven skinlines. Odyssey actually coexists with other galactic skinlines are interwoven into each other. Call of Power, Ryze is gathering the World Runes. You know the things that Heimerdinger was terrified over in Arcane, they are runes that the Celestials Left lying around and just caused a small thing called the Rune Wars. Basically the Infinity Stones of Runeterra. Ryze who went through the same war and is much older than Heimerdinger at 1000+, is collecting them and using a temple carved out of Petricite (the magic dampening/absorbing stone the Demacians use.) to hide them and seal them away. Champions that appeared in the Call to Power: Miss Fortunate before she became Captain Nasus a Shuriman Ascendant, brother of Renekton, adviser to Azir, keeper of the forbidden library. Sona. Mute Songstress. She appears twice as she's in the Odyssey trailer at the end and save Ryze from the thugs in Ionia. Trundle the Troll King. Self explanatory. And the creature at the that Ryze overcomes is a Watcher. The Primordial beings who existed before light. Who are constantly trying to destroy Runeterra by either opening those nasty Void portals or trying to flood through the rifts themselves.
Ryze witnessed the destructive power of the World rune first hand. It was his old master who kept some of the runes which corrupted him after which Ryze killed him and swore to protect the world and keep the runes out of people's hands.
Varus is a darkin who was locked up in the well, and varus tried to break them but their love was too strong so he had to fuse them together so he could escape the prison, pretty much. it was his soul he ripped out with the arrow
The two characters that jumped into the well are Valmar and Kai, two Ionian hunters and lovers fighting in the Ionian - Noxian War. Kai was injured so Valmar took him to the forbidden well that housed a Darkin, an ancient God-Warrior of Shurima, the Darkin repurposed their flesh to create a new vessel for himself, the three now share a single body and while Kai and Valmar's will are strong and they can sometimes resist Varus, but before long their consciousness will be snuffed out and only Varus will remain. Until then Varus will punish all of humanity for his imprisonment and free the rest of his kin.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames In game a character named Kayn wields a different Darkin, a scythe that goes by the name of Rhaast. The champion's whole gimmick is he starts out weak because both he and Rhaast are wrestling for control of Kayn's body, but after a set period the player chooses one of two forms. Allowing Rhaast to kill Kayn and take control of his body turns your champ into a tanky bruiser, BUT if you choose Kayn's Shadow Assassin form he "purifies" the Darkin scythe killing Rhaast and retains control of his own body (Kayn is in the Middle/ Rhaast Right/ Shadow Assassin Kayn Left) ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/img/champion/splash/Kayn_0.jpg This is all in-game mechanics so it's not considered canon or anything, but this game mechanic leads me to believe it's possible, you would need very strong magic to kill the Darkin and impossibly tough will to resist control though. For Valmar and Kai their love for each other is what keeps Varus at bay
In the "Story of League of Legends" by Necrit you saw the runestones that Ryze is collecting, as you saw in the end of the Call of Power cinematics only one is missing....Heimerdinger saw the destruction caused by them, that's why he is so afraid about hextech and the hexcore and wants Victor to destroy it before it's too late. There was a theory that Ryze is the one that saves Jayce's mom but i don't think he was Ryze. We'll see in Arcane Season 2. Necrit talks even of the blood magic that created new form of ascended, the Darkin: Varus is one of them. He was trapped by Zoe, the aspect of Twilight, that teach to human how to defeat the Darkin and they were all trapped inside their weapons. Kayn, the assassin in the "Welcome Aboard" , is another Darkin (Well, Rhaast is a Darkin...he use Kayn body as "human host", they argue often even in the game). He was trapped into his Scythe. The last Darkin is Aatrox that was trapped into a sword, the human host is unknown and he took over completely his body. Probably the strongest Darkin, he kills Pantheon the aspect of the War.
Those stones that ryze was hiding in the Call of power was the World Runes that he has to hide from the evil people to prevent everyone to rule the world as hes trying to protect all from those who seek power
I prefer Varus first story before they changed it. Varus was in charge to protect a temple there was a corruption pit in it, and was an important duty he was choosen to do it due his incredible power and skill with the bow, when the Noxian army attacked even when otheres left their duties he stayed and protected the corruption pit and his unmensurable power from the Noxians hands, but when he went back to his town all his family were slaughtered by the Noxian army. He blame himself and could not stand the remorse, so to achieve his vengeance and without anything to loose he got back to the temple and let the corruption consum him, with that power now he is seeking the blood of all Noxians. He had a quote that says something like: "Beware a man with nothing to lose" or something like that even all his quotes just were a reflect of all his agony, he was one of my favoarites characters. All this just personal opinion but I believe the old story has more mening he lost his humanity and the only humanity remaining in him was his remorse due he could not protect his family.
Ah yes, a fellow old Varus lore enjoyer. I do like the new lore, but they could've just given that lore to a new champ and expanded upon Varus's old lore. Though, I guess they were already planning to bring back Senna and the whole Viego / Isolde story, so it would've been one too many man grieving and seeking vengeance for his dead wife/family. They could've done so much with the old Varus, but ofc it's easier to just change it.
The red rune stone does not hold the power to see the past. Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I know he actually was there and pretty much caused that destruction.
That forest Ryze is walking through is called the Petricite Grove. The "petrified" trees of stone nullify and absorb magic, so mage's (and presumably even gods) can't even enter the forest. This just goes to show how powerful Ryze is, not only can he traverse the forest, but he can also still use his powers to enter his secret vault. Non-mages however can still enter the forest, which is probably why the vault has an entrance that requires magic to enter. Ryze is the only being in the current League Universe that can enter the World Rune Vault.
Arcane fans like me think that ryze is the 1 that gave jayce the blue runes, and showed him how to teleport like in the video. And the flashback of distruction is the same as haimerdinger had in the show which he told the boys to destriy the arcanes
you guys already met Ryze in arcane. he is the one the serves Jayce during the blizzard. also an important part, those stones are the great runes. each one represents an aspect of magic. Precision (Yellow),Domination (red),Resolve (green) and Sorcery(purple) with Inspiration rune(blue). Ryze is still missing the Inspiration rune(blue) and Viktor's hex-core is also missing the inspiration rune(blue).
Ryze is seeing things that happened when he was hunting for shards of the World Runes (fragments of the raw magic that once shaped the world from nothingness), the part with the city being destroyed is his home, as two armies clash and destroy not just the city but themselves and all the surrounding land. The forest we see him in is made of living stone trees. That adsorb the magic and that is why they are alive. From the bark of those trees they make a material called petricite that will absorbs magic as well. Demacians use petricite to built they city walls and they home for its white look. As well as in they armour and weapons and the chains they use to bind magic users (unless you are Lux sister of Garen). So you guys have a great day and STAY SAFE.

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Their souls are still there so they're not completely dead. They do try to resist but Varus is an ascended corrupted by the void so his consiousness is really strong. The guys in the pit are Varus. Not sure what the new lore is, I know they changed almost all of it - old lore was that the Noxians killed his lover in the guard while they were fighting to defend the evil pit they were protecting and he was like "Eh, fuck it" and decided to jump into said evil pit of liquid since nothing but vengeance mattered to him anymore (Varus - The Living Vengeance) and then it possessed him and uh... yep. He killed everyone in the attacking army. With weird corruption burns-you-body-and-soul black goo and tentacles / arrows. Pretty sure the new lore is different, because that video doesn't look like that at all. Their lore used to be really cool and unique, then at one point they got acquired and fired the entire writing staff and now it's pretty much all dreck. Like they changed Xerath from a cool character into Jaffar from Aladdin... among other things. The whole setting used to be about superwizards summoning beings from other dimensions to fight for political power, now it's like Generic Fantasy Setting, unfortunately. They used to have a cool newsletter they would release that made the world feel more alive. I guess a better way to put it is that they went from unique to really standard style-over-substance fantasy after they replaced their entire lore team.
I would love to see you react to Legacy of Kain complete story, simply titled “The Legacy of Kain” by Perfect Hand Productions. In my opinion it is one of the best dark fantasy stories, and features some of the greatest voice acting of all time.
If you Watched about Necrit's video explaining and reacting to the Call of Power Video. No spoiler he explained what was Ryze's purpose and the story about that Video. So yeah I highly recommend you watch his explained video. And Spoiler warning: Ryze is a Guy who wields an infinite magical power source. And his goal to to collect exeryone of those Shards because it once almost destroyed the whole planet. And if fallen into the wrong hands chaos will be inevitable.

"Are they good guys or bad guys?" They "are" good guys; the god that binds them.... he's a bit complicated. All three had good intentions in the beginning, but as with most things LoL the best of intentions pave a lot of downward facing highways. The difference here is Varus doesn't mind the downward highways, which makes his quest for revenge quite ironic. Speaking of which, Ryze knows a great deal about this. "Infinity Stones, for lack of better term" Actually that term is quite appropriate. The World Runes literally define RuneTerra as both a metaphysical plane and as a discrete physical entity, to possess one is to quite literally in this case play with fire and is dangerous beyond belief, even for a god.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Based on what Riot's presented, it seems to be an uneasy alliance, probably osmething they can mine in the future, much like Arcane did with Vi and Kaitlyn.
Talking about Varus. The Darkin names are "Aatrox", "Rhaast" and "Varus". And there are 2 voice lines where Aatrox is frustrated with Varus saying: "Varus, V A R U S, your name should have an A and then another A, Varus. There was a memo, Varus, there was a memo!" and "We all agreed on the double A thing, Varus. The double A thing!" And yes, Ryze is like Giga turbo extremely powerful, but hilariously enough in the game he's one of the weakest characters right now.

Their love was so strong that the evil entity had to strike a deal cause it couldn’t overcome them otherwise 🤗 Not the happiest of endings but to have love that powerful is special 🥰
The World Rune doesn't give you the ability to see the past, Ryze was THERE at the apex of the Rune Wars 1000 years ago and saw the devastation, but survived, his exposure to the magic of the World Runes has extended his lifespan past what's normal. Those were his memories and it's only because he's seen what horrible things people were capable of with the World Runes is he able to resist the power they tempt him with. There is a massive chunk of Noxus missing from the map I think you saw in that Necrit video, that's what unregulated use of Rune magic can do. The world is called "Runeterra" because the Runes are reality altering tools that some godlike figures used to create our reality, but then like the dumb cunts they are they just left them lying around and here we are on the cusp of Fantasy WWIII lol.
İta not a trailer but i think you guys should check out the backrooms by KanePixels its a very cool concept and its a series from an creepy pasta called backrooms

@@enju3588 I just hate how Varus didn't get a remake when it released or at least a VGU.
I mean Rhaast even says something about that in-game:
"Really? A bow and two boys? What was your plan, Varus?"
Edit: autocorrect got me again
Definitely
It's so good I love As We Fall
The scene of the city being destroyed by the power of the World Rune on the Call of Power cinematic is mostlikely what Heimerdinger was afraid of happening on the Arcane series.
Yep yep
Happening again actually because thats probably a flashback to the Rune Wars
Nope... Hiemer is talking talking about icathian war... Hiemer wasn't born when the ryze was facing the great rune war
@@youdontknowme2913 It definitely wasn't Icathia, Shurima fell thousands of years before Arcane's timeline, and Icathia even before that. It most likely were the Rune Wars, which happened a few hundred years earlier.

Nice touch. And also sad 😢
Thanks for explaining Call of Power better for us 🙂
The flashback was to the Rune Wars, which were started by his teacher
I see, but it seems like Varus consumed their soul and made thier body his new vessel coz there's no consciousness of the two lovers at all.
Thanks so much for explaining As We Fall for us. So we had some elements correct in our crazy theories 🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames yes you had! for me the best part is to hear your theories (that are correct very often!). you two are so smart!
Wait were they married? I remember Valmar just introduced Kai to his family before the event in the MV so I assumed they were not officially married.
Doesn't Aatrox want to find someone to put an end to him?
@@zenseizen374 yes, he thinks the only way is through chaos. If he can cause the end of all things, perhaps he will be freed as well.
@@cauaserafimg oh right, I forgot about that last bit there.
isn't this slightly inaccurate? I thought Darkin were corrupted via the use of blood magic during their ascensions?
@@bloodknyte that's the old lore. it's been updated, I think during Aatrox' rework. even though the darkin used blood magic to restore their bodies that isn't the cause of their corruption.
I always interpreted ryze's visions of destruction that he was there when it happened and it was a flashback.
yes that is..Ryze master was a wizard in charge to get the runes and seal them, but he became corrupted by their power and use one to burn down a entire city. Ryze watched this in person.. he killed his old master and take on himself seal the runes onece for all... he has bein gtraveling the world searching for them for at least a few centurys
OMG ITS FINALLY HERE!
I'm so glad you've watched this and enjoyed it as much as I do. This really made my day.
Happy to hear 😊🥳🤗
the runes are in fact usable by anyone with any knowledge abput magic, which is why ryze seals them away because its the equivalent of having a rouge nuke in the hands of any mage of any power level since the rune itself holds so much of it, enough to shape the entire world of runeterra
Glad Ryze is taking preventative measures 🙂
The place where Ryze stored the runes, you might have noticed that it was made of pure white trees. That's petricite trees. They absorb magic. So you can see how Ryze was so drained just being there. That's why he chose that place to store the runes.
Ah, thanks for sharing that info 🙂😀
Thanks! 🙂
Regarding the World Runes - there are 5 in total:
leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Rune
Domination
Precision
Resolve
Inspiration
Sorcery
As for Arcane, I have the theory that we already see the elements of the runes in S1: the sorcery (unrefined hex crystals = raw magic).
Brand, aka Keegan Rhodes when he was human, was also Ryze's apprentice from the Freljord.
bro knows the lore
That makes sense 😀
what a powerful lines ryze said "the strength to let it go" because he collected it all and seal it instead of abuse the runes power. its dangerous to hold a power that big, the runes itself so powerful like ryze said "it can drain ocean, burn skies"
It’s tough to resist power like that. Takes tremendous willpower 🙂
If u noticed. When Ryze had Flashback of the distruction. It was the same what Haimerthinger saw. So thos stones are the raw version of Arcane. Or Gem-Stones
😳
the red rune vision was him remembering the time he was weak and actually used it. Resulting in the destruction of a city and deaths of thousands.
😎👍🙂
Jinx, looked very different, loved the song in the second trailer. As always fantastic video. Keep being amazing
😊🤗🥳
I am not sure if someone already explained this part, but here:
The forest with the underground cave, where Ryze put the world runes is made out of petricite.
Thanks for telling us about petricite 🙂
Yay, more League of Legends from the ultimate reaction legends themselves. These were definitely a lot of fun! I also finally watched Arcane, and it was awesome. Cheers!!!
Nice! Glad you finally got to Arcane and enjoyed it as much as we did. We were really surprised but how invested we got in the show 😀😍😊
In the Call of Power cinematic..where Ryze teleports in to the chamber that holds the world runes. That entire forest is made up of Anti-magic a perfect place to hide runes from mages. Also that shows how powerful he is to even teleport or use magic.
Smart place to hide them for sure. Hopefully we get Ryze in Arcane like people are theorizing 😀
As We Fall shows two archers that get possessed by Varus a darkin that was sealed in the well, welcome aboard is an alternate universe from the skin line of Odyssey and Call of Power shows Ryze collecting the runes that where used to create the world to prevent a second Rune War to happen
😎👍🙂
I don't think Ryze had the ability to view the past or future of these stones, rather he has been there when the destruction was unleashed and has traumatic flashbacks to these events.
Edit: Also, he said that his greatest power is the strength to let it go, but he was weak then. So he probably caused a lot of destruction himself.
Thanks for clearing that up 🙂
It's just speculation from a fan of these cinematics who doesn't know anything else about LoL lore^^

Youre right about Ryze collecting the World Runes and hiding them. That's what Call of Power is about, Ryze going around Runeterra looking for the World Runes. You might remember Necrit talking about it briefly in the lore video you watched a while back.
That’s probably where we remembered it from just couldn’t place it 🙂
They are called World Runes, they had a essential part in the Rune Wars.
Also, it was just a Flashback you know.
😎👍🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames wanna know more in detail? Necrit most likely has made a video about it at some point.
Thanks for going over each video for us 😀
My favorite easter egg of the Ryze cinematic, is that you can still see how the top part of his scroll is cut/ripped from his fight with Nocturne in the Twist of Fate cinematic.
Nice attention to detail 😀
my two favorite cinematics in one video? yeaaahhhhh
🥳🥳😎🤟
Those never get old.
☺️
That’s sweet that their love was too strong for evil to overcome 🥰😊
Champions that appeared in the Call to Power:
Miss Fortunate before she became Captain
Nasus a Shuriman Ascendant, brother of Renekton, adviser to Azir, keeper of the forbidden library.
Thanks for the recap and then going into more details for each vid 🙂😀

Ryze witnessed the destructive power of the World rune first hand. It was his old master who kept some of the runes which corrupted him after which Ryze killed him and swore to protect the world and keep the runes out of people's hands.

Varus is a darkin who was locked up in the well, and varus tried to break them but their love was too strong so he had to fuse them together so he could escape the prison, pretty much. it was his soul he ripped out with the arrow
Thanks for clarifying that for us 🙂
The two characters that jumped into the well are Valmar and Kai, two Ionian hunters and lovers fighting in the Ionian - Noxian War.
Is there any way to free Valmar and Kai? 🤔
Allowing Rhaast to kill Kayn and take control of his body turns your champ into a tanky bruiser, BUT if you choose Kayn's Shadow Assassin form he "purifies" the Darkin scythe killing Rhaast and retains control of his own body
(Kayn is in the Middle/ Rhaast Right/ Shadow Assassin Kayn Left)
ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/img/champion/splash/Kayn_0.jpg
This is all in-game mechanics so it's not considered canon or anything, but this game mechanic leads me to believe it's possible, you would need very strong magic to kill the Darkin and impossibly tough will to resist control though.
Thanks for recapping the Darkin for us 🙂

Always do enjoy a good revenge story 😁
The red rune stone does not hold the power to see the past. Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I know he actually was there and pretty much caused that destruction.
That’s what others have said as well so believe you are right 🙂
Frodo only need to resist one ring, Ryze is resisting five. He's a chad.
😎💪
That forest Ryze is walking through is called the Petricite Grove. The "petrified" trees of stone nullify and absorb magic, so mage's (and presumably even gods) can't even enter the forest. This just goes to show how powerful Ryze is, not only can he traverse the forest, but he can also still use his powers to enter his secret vault. Non-mages however can still enter the forest, which is probably why the vault has an entrance that requires magic to enter.
Ryze is the only being in the current League Universe that can enter the World Rune Vault.
Damn. 💪😯
What about Sylas? Assuming he can even manage to get ahold of Ryze

Arcane fans like me think that ryze is the 1 that gave jayce the blue runes, and showed him how to teleport like in the video. And the flashback of distruction is the same as haimerdinger had in the show which he told the boys to destriy the arcanes
That makes sense and is a cool little Easter eggs for fans of League 😀
you guys already met Ryze in arcane. he is the one the serves Jayce during the blizzard. also an important part, those stones are the great runes. each one represents an aspect of magic. Precision (Yellow),Domination (red),Resolve (green) and Sorcery(purple) with Inspiration rune(blue). Ryze is still missing the Inspiration rune(blue) and Viktor's hex-core is also missing the inspiration rune(blue).
Hmm. Wonder where the inspiration rune can be and why that is the last one. You’d think it would be first 🤔
I would to see an animated series of the Space version of these characters.

Bummer they changed writing teams and the lore for the game ☹️
League stuff is always great
🥳🥳
Very nice
I would love to see you react to Legacy of Kain complete story, simply titled “The Legacy of Kain” by Perfect Hand Productions. In my opinion it is one of the best dark fantasy stories, and features some of the greatest voice acting of all time.
On our request list though didn’t realize there was a complete story video for that as well 🙂
If you Watched about Necrit's video explaining and reacting to the Call of Power Video. No spoiler he explained what was Ryze's purpose and the story about that Video. So yeah I highly recommend you watch his explained video.
And Spoiler warning:
Ryze is a Guy who wields an infinite magical power source. And his goal to to collect exeryone of those Shards because it once almost destroyed the whole planet. And if fallen into the wrong hands chaos will be inevitable.
Thanks for the video recommendation 🙂
Sorry for asking but i couldn't find what your league signiture drink is or what is it made of. Can someone please help me with that? I'm really interested.
It’s La Vie En League, shot of gin, shot of lemonade, 1 oz elder flower Liquer, mint added and stirred in after. You can sub Vodka for the gin but we just aren’t vodka drinkers 🤗
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Sounds pretty good. I'm not often drinking gin but I must try it in the near future. :D
Thank you for your answer! :)
Ryze remembers what happened he was there!
😯
Those are world runes. He was responsible for some of the destruction that one or more of those runes created.
😢 so he’s making sure no one does it again. Penance for his past
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Lots of theories that there is a time coming soon where the world runes will be stolen. All the world runes, all in once place.
it simple the ruin keystone is power and it search people deepest desire which is conquer and destruction
😎👍🙂
There is a new cinematic from Apex Legends including Lifeline and Octanes backstories and also there is a whole new legend cinematic for Newcastle
You should watch it
Reaction coming tomorrow 🙂

We did th-cam.com/play/PLDNhddM5srw9_38fxaY6daklBXlp1qKfn.html 🥳 It’s on our other channel for stuff outside of games….even though Arcane was based off a game universe 🤗
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Amazing!
Btw, ya'll are watching the cinematics and such in a crazy misrepresenting way. Best to watch them in about the order they were released.
😎👍🙂
How much control do they have over the god that is binding them all together? Or how much control do they have over themselves I guess 🤔
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Based on what Riot's presented, it seems to be an uneasy alliance, probably osmething they can mine in the future, much like Arcane did with Vi and Kaitlyn.
Did anyone else notice the cut on 6:20?
Sometimes we gotta pause and stop the video tot some care of our dogs when nature calls 🤗
Talking about Varus. The Darkin names are "Aatrox", "Rhaast" and "Varus". And there are 2 voice lines where Aatrox is frustrated with Varus saying:
"Varus, V A R U S, your name should have an A and then another A, Varus. There was a memo, Varus, there was a memo!"
and
"We all agreed on the double A thing, Varus. The double A thing!"
And yes, Ryze is like Giga turbo extremely powerful, but hilariously enough in the game he's one of the weakest characters right now.
Haha, we have to check out some of the voice lines for sure. Thanks for sharing those 😆
Hey I know this might odd to ask but have you seen the new apex legend’s story of the outlands? Family Business? It’s about lifeline and octine, it’s amazing I highly recommend it

You guys should react to zombies vs wiseguys: hellbent for whiskey. A short animated film based on guns, gore, and cannoli
Ps. react to all the cutscenes for guns, gore, and cannoli and guns, gore, and cannoli 2.
It won't disappoint, I swear!!
It’s a super creative name 😁
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames thanks!! Happy reacting!!
Hm, say, have you reacted to Amumu’s Music Video yet? If not, i highly recommend it.
Not yet 😅
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames hm, then you know what to do.

Make a video reacting to Manhunt 2 runs please
I enjoy your videos and would love to see your reaction to the K/DA music videos Popstar and More.
We saw it on our other reaction channel here th-cam.com/video/G4OPf2Gln04/w-d-xo.html 🙂🥳
I love as we fall because it's so sad and dramatic and the song is so good. Only little thing I dislike is how gay couples always tend to get bad endings in media 😅 but atleast their story is good
Their love was so strong that the evil entity had to strike a deal cause it couldn’t overcome them otherwise 🤗 Not the happiest of endings but to have love that powerful is special 🥰
Always put away your tools 🧰 😝
Nioh?
On our request list 😇
İta not a trailer but i think you guys should check out the backrooms by KanePixels its a very cool concept and its a series from an creepy pasta called backrooms
