I graduated my dental assistant program in mid October through an online program. I had become very discouraged when I didn’t get a job or externship rite away. But I finally found a office that’s gonna allow me to shadow. It’s an oral surgery office 😬. I’m beyond nervous but excited as well. If you have any extra tips or suggestions working in that type of specific office I’d greatly appreciate it. Or any advice for shadowing 😄!
Be prepared to see a lot of blood. It’s very fast pace. Take lots of notes. Don’t be scared to get in there and try. I loved doing oral surgery. Never doubt yourself.
Hi, can i ask how’s it going with your job as a dental assistant? And was online program sufficiently equip you to work and which online school did you take the program. Many thanks in advance 😄
@@mialee5236 the online program did not prepare me for the office at all. Don’t do it 😃. Don’t waste your time nor money. Make sure you find a class that’s approved by the board in your state & depending on what type of office you wanna work in maybe try the expanded functions course as well. Assistant is going okay you do ALOT for the office. So be prepared to have alot of responsibility and patience.
@@shaylinlewis6475 Hi 😊 omg I feel the same way! I'm in an online dental assisting program as well I had passed the program the end of May and now tomorrow I start my first day at my externship at a pediatric office and I am so nervice..I have been watching many many many dental assisting videos to get tips and advice as well as constantly reading my book as much as possible. However, I really wish this program had hands-on learning in a classroom setting before having to go to this externship. I just wish I did more research to find a dental school that provides hands-on learning in a classroom. Like I said I am so nervice and anxious but after watching videos, reading everyone's comments, studying flash cards and reading my book I feel a little more confident. I pray that you succeed and do great in your Dental Assisting career 🙏🏼 I loved watching this video, all of the tips and advice really helps so thank you from the bottom of my heart! God Bless ❤🙏🏼🙂
Hiiii!!! I commented on your recent video and I was kinda wondering how many days a week do you tend to work? And maybe what are those days? Thank you 🥺👉🏻👈🏻
Want to ask regarding externship as u r saying in different specialties but nowadays due to Corona it’s impossible. Nobody is agree to give volunteering position.
Very true :( I got lucky cuz I was able to intern a couple months before the virus hit. Right now the daughter of the doctor I work with is able to intern at places... so I know it’s possible... but idk if it has to do with the fact that she is a dentist’s daughter .-. So to that, I say, there has to be some willing to take interns. You just have to search really hard. And if not, some places are really desperate to higher someone and will be able to train people with no experience!! I know a couple of them xD
You bring up a good point!! My teachers have just always told us not to wear scrubs, and I got my job by not wearing scrubs. But I guess now maybe just keep a pair of scrubs in your car? XD
Yeah this was my first video of yours I’ve watched definitely subscribing to you thanks for the detailed insight you really helped me and you are a wonderful person with a great personality definitely recommend to subscribe to her channel💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
