This is definitely a wasted opportunity. I was made to wait a long time without any commitment of when I can expect the delivery of my Continental GT. I was told that deliveries would resume after the new updated model is launched. I am glad that I did not wait for this insignificant update and cancelled my booking and got home a RC390. I was loyal RE customer for a long time.
I'm glad that the tripper module isn't included. On the Himalayan, it looks ugly. It would've ruined the twin-pod looks of the console on the 650 twins, I feel like.

650 twins badly needed a front suspension upgrade, but hey, RE never listens to its customers, so I'm not entirely shocked by RE rolling out jus new colors. They'll do it for a decade more before bringing on any real changes the customer want

@@adarsh9330 I think it is dumb to ignore how a bike feels to ride (which is the primary focus of riding) and just run after features. My 390 Duke has a lot more 'features' than the Interceptor 650 but the 650 is a lot more fun to ride, barring the bad front suspension.
Putting alloy wheels on the Interceptor by default is a bad idea since that will take away some of its retro charm. They should make available as optional accessories, though. Maybe even put it in the customisation options. Tubeless tyres are definitely needed, though.
@@maverick2678 The Thunderbird is an ugly looking bike that looks like a Chinese Harley. The Classic has had variants with mag wheels as well as traditional wire spoke rims. So just like I said before, alloys wheels should be an option on the 650. By the way, I am not sure about this but the wire spoke alloy rims that come fitted on the 650s are made by Excel.
@@aaronleverton4221 yeah I agree spoke wheels are better than alloys, but what I meant to say was tubed tyres are prone to punctures and when it happens its very difficult to move these heavy bikes. The local puncture shops are not well equipped to remove the tyre and put it back as it is. Sometimes they mess up things while reassembling the components and it affects the stability of the bike.
@@rbodicherla I think you're looking at it the wrong way. Tubes are no more prone to punctures than tubeless. I've had plenty in both. However, tubeless is quicker to repair with a punch and sausage strips. In Cambodia, where I have done most of my riding, there are roadside tyre repairers everywhere. If you have a puncture in your rear tube they leave the wheel on the bike and simply pull the tube out of the tyre and repair it in place. Then clamp and heat the patch for five minutes then put the tube back in and re-inflate. They only take your rear wheel off if they have to replace the tube. I've never noticed a problem with tyres not being "balanced" properly as a result. The roads aren't that good and I've barely been over 120kph anyway, even on my old CB 900F. Not that you need to in a country this small.
@@aaronleverton4221 Yes you are correct regarding the puncture prone factor, but I still prefer the covinience factor that a tubeless tyre offers. It gives you confidence for going that extra mile thinking that even if the tyre goes flat at a lonely place then I would be able to patch it up with ease (p.s I always carry a portable air compressor).
These upgrades will push the price up by 50k, which will hit sales in india. RE knows people who really care about ride quality will do an upgrade anyway, quite a few suspension options are available for twins by well known names.

But I am having one more option in such price range. Adventure 390. 3.5 lcs onroad. No need of customization. Not good in lower end but we can change the sprocket and it will perform good.
These ceat have better handling and grip then the older Pirellis, i personally felt this i have the one with problematic Pirellis already the front one is changed once in warranty and got sports demon as replacement. Lets hope more Indian tyre manufacturers start making these sizes in better specs

It's true that the RE has really wasted the opportunity by bring in only with colour updates, Which doesn't suit flagship model updates, when compared with the lower CC meteor which has refined engine, alloys with tubeless & a brighter instrument console with an tripper.
That engine is the best one this side of 5 Lacs!!.. just wish the weight was under 200kgs kerb n the pillion rider ergos were sorted.. wudve been mine if not for the above 2 factors!

RE could've updated the ergos of the interceptor which cause the footpegs to hit your shins with the feet down. Tripper module is sadly missed. The conti GT in red is hot though!! How aggressive is the conti GT's riding position as compared to a Honda CBR250? CBR is a great tourer, hence asking if the GT also has same levels of comfort for longer highways hauls?
I am glad they moved the Ventura Blue to the Interceptor but that classic red GT looks so damn good! Rockers were the guys who used to race from cafe to cafe. I am also glad that the Tripper module is not included. It would ruin the look of that console.
It needs LED lighting. I don't believe it would cost RE more to do so. If you see a headlight beam at night from a W800 you will understand the difference.

Is continental GT really not for long ride? People complain about uncomfort but I think if you need comfort for travelling better travel by air. Every rides by roadways is uncomfortable but it is the good memories we cherish for. Not the body ache.
No tripper is fine with me..but they shld hv given alloys, led lightings, better mirrors, better handle bars..and i seriously think 1 exhaust is enough..2 are unnecessary and adds to weight..

No change to the ergonomics or the suspension, so I’m guessing they will still be around. This was a short first ride review, so we couldn’t test it as extensively as we do for our road tests. We shall Update you on that once we have the motorcycle over for a road test.
If your going after Thruxton sales you should consider tubeless spoke wheels and a better power to weight ratio. Get rid of the hideous Euro5 cans and hide the cat under the bike, even if it means no centre stand. You have 6k difference surely it's achievable.
RE needs to provide with a 150 section rear tyre for such performance oriented motorcycle .With a 130 section rear tyre i don't think it would provide much confidence to the rider while taking sharp turns. Also high speed stability will be further improved with a wider rear at the end. Other than that it's a complete value for money machine.👍
they delayed my booking because of this updation... i think they will upadate the instrument cluster but its not... what a rubbish... the cheaper metor getting navigation....
They should have made important changes like suspension, better tyres tubeless, exhaust, foot pegs issue. But they went with unwanted changes and increased price.

I think black diamond cut alloys would look pretty on the conti gt. Historically spoke wheels pair well with cafe racers. But RE should have given us options under MIY program. Tripper is not much a sore miss for me. Even stylish led lights would be nice.
USP of these bikes is that they r minimalist in terms of gadgetries... So, Let d bikes be simple n bare...don’t insists on them being loaded with tech.

Tubeless tyres are a must for these heavy bikes. Now there are companies offering tubeless tyres with spoke rims..

Huh? I rode Honda GL 400 and 500 and CB750 for years on tubes and tyres. Much heavier metal than these things and they were fine.

Conti is more forward biased. Not comfortable for long rides or in heavy traffic. This is coming from a R15, R3 owner.

If your going after Thruxton sales you should consider tubeless spoke wheels and a better power to weight ratio. Get rid of the hideous Euro5 cans and hide the cat under the bike, even if it means no centre stand. You have 6k difference surely it's achievable.
RE needs to provide with a 150 section rear tyre for such performance oriented motorcycle .With a 130 section rear tyre i don't think it would provide much confidence to the rider while taking sharp turns. Also high speed stability will be further improved with a wider rear at the end. Other than that it's a complete value for money machine.👍
Profile and rubber compound are more critical for cornering than width - as you will discover in a day at a track.
The bikes don’t feel under-tyred at all. I think these sizes work fine.

they delayed my booking because of this updation... i think they will upadate the instrument cluster but its not... what a rubbish... the cheaper metor getting navigation....

They should have made important changes like suspension, better tyres tubeless, exhaust, foot pegs issue. But they went with unwanted changes and increased price.

Looks like you missed out on the CLEAR LENS headlamp. The 2021 bike in the video has it while earlier models do not.
The clear lens headlamps came in 2019
@@rohit_paradkar oh..my bike is a March 2019 model and, since then, have been trying to procure RE clear lens headlamp through the dealership/service centre and they told me there is no clear headlamp for it ! Anyway, now I will get one.

I think black diamond cut alloys would look pretty on the conti gt. Historically spoke wheels pair well with cafe racers. But RE should have given us options under MIY program. Tripper is not much a sore miss for me. Even stylish led lights would be nice.

Meteor is a Proper Tour bike where you surely need a tripper navigation whereas for City commuting bikes 650 twins why do we need a Tripper for such short distance riding ????
