- Erza VS Irene Full Fight || Erza Scarlet VS Irene Belserion Complete Fight .
Irene then travels to where Team Natsu and Juvia are located and attacks them, after which she greets Erza. Citing that it's been a long time since they've last met, Erza asks Irene who she is, to which she cryptically responds that they are one and the same.Irene laughs at Erza's confusion, but soon ceases upon being afflicted with the effects of Larcade's Pleasure; as a result, the wounded are allowed to escape. The Scarlet Despair immediately retaliates against an attacking Erza with an atmospheric enchantment when she charges at her, but to her surprise, it is blocked and diffused by Wendy. She then curses both Wendy and Erza for being unaffected by Larcade's Magic. Irene goes on to engage Erza in battle, but easily parries all her blows, even turning the swords from Blumenblatt into a mocking hanamaru. At Erza's request, Irene reveals herself as the girl's mother, despite her vehement claims that such a thing is impossible. Irene expresses indifference to the fact that she has a daughter, and empathizes with Erza's belief that anyone who stands against Fairy Tail is an enemy, claiming that she feels the same about Alvarez. The, in spite of her daughter's protests, Irene reveals that there is a secret to Erza's birth, and begins telling both her and Wendy her story, beginning back when she called the Queen of Dragons.

However, as she is being pushed back, Irene begins injuring Wendy's body more and more, asking her whether she still wants to come back to such a state, but Wendy does not hesitate, claiming that it's the body that contains her precious memories and completes the transfer. As she is slowly losing consciousness, Wendy, now back in her original body, asks Erza whether she can count on her to finish this, which Erza confirms and stands against an enraged Irene in her Clear Heart Clothing attire.
As Erza promises to Wendy that she will settle this soon, Irene asks whether she can really do that against a 400 years old being and aims an explosive Enchantment at Erza. Titania emerges from it, but Irene creates rays of energy that shoot towards Erza, something which the Queen of Fairies continuously evades. Irene expresses her disgust with Erza, claiming that even though she had protected her for 400 years, Erza still insists to interfere with the Spriggan's happiness.
Even though Erza states that she understands her mother's pain, she claims that she cannot lose as she slashes Irene with her sword. Landing in a few more strikes, Erza reveals that she knows a bit about misery herself, but points out her loved ones as her salvation. Unable to take this in, Irene punches Erza back as she begins her transformation into a Dragon. With another strike of the Dragon's claw, Erza finds herself on the ground, realizing that her bones are broken. Exclaiming that Erza can no longer move, Irene begins to prove that in her Dragon form, her Enchantments are of even higher power: she casts Deus Sema, and a horrified Erza watches as a meteorite nears their location from the outer space. She recognizes this spell to be a higher level of Jellal's Magic and immediately realizes that this will mean the death of everyone on the battlefield.
With a single strike of her sword, Erza annihilates the heavenly body which breaks into numerous tiny pieces that fall on the battlefield. Erza herself continues to fall towards Irene, yelling out for her to prepare herself, however, the transformed Spriggan points out Erza's inability to hurt a Dragon. Much to her shock, this instantly changes as Wendy slowly gets up and enchants Erza's blade with the power to slay Dragons, allowing Erza to deliver a devastating blow which undoes Irene's transformation. Even though this act causes some injuries to Irene, the two Fairies are now on the ground, unable to move anymore. Irene makes use of their predicament and grabs Erza's sword, intending to finish things, but then she notices her daughter's smile.
She recalls a similar smile on a then-baby Erza's face and yells out at her daughter to stop it, something which Erza pays no attention to and propels herself to headbutt Irene, with the sword stabbing through her side in the process. After coughing up blood, Irene grabs the sword yet again, but this time stabs herself with it as she realizes that despite taking countless lives up till this point, she is unable to kill her own daughter.
A surprised Erza can do nothing, but ask why, as Irene reveals that she stopped trying to enchant herself into Erza's body; she couldn't do it because of her adorable smile and that was the reason she then threw her away. With Irene's final words being an expression of love towards her daughter, Erza lies on the ground, watching her mother pass away and bids her goodbye.

The only thing I wished would’ve happen was Erza unlocking a new power or a special enchantress armor just like how gray unlocked his demon slayer magic when he met his dad

Let’s be honest, Irene could’ve finished them both pretty easily.
She’s 400 years old, not to mention the former Queen of the Dragons.
She’s probably one of (And I mean one of, don’t start a war in the replies about which character is the strongest, I don’t care) the strongest characters in fairy tail.
When she died, I felt distraught.
I’m glad she’s finally at peace, but think about what would’ve happened is she didn’t kill herself.
Erza doesn’t need a mother, never did, but it would’ve been nice for her to have that mother-daughter relationship. Besides, Irene obviously cares deeply for Erza.
After all the crap she’s been through, I thought that Irene deserved to be with her daughter.

Kitana Edenian it don’t matter how she won was bs she had all of her bones broken except her one arm and was drained from all the fighting she did and yet was able to shoot off the ground with enough speed and force to basically fly to the damn sky and with that one arm destroy the meteor. And if that ain’t worst after that she was still able to keep fighting and land another attack like it don’t make sense like most of the fights in this show

You can tell Irene was hurt when Erza said her only parent was master makorav, the sacrifices Irene made, she was an excellent final antagonist. You could understand everything she went through.

Only Giving birth doesn't qualify you to be a parent you need to fulfill the duty of a parent in order to be One.. And irene lacked that since the situation was not under her control .. But at the last moments she did what a parent is supposed to do Sacrificing herself for her child that's why I wasn't satisfied ATM.. She could have said that lines After everything was over or before that or at any other situation.. but saying that right after witnessing what and how much your Mother did for you was not appropriate

Belserion would bring Wendy’s power from 100 to 1000 and Marvell would keep Irene’s power level. They’re both enchanters and wendy could take down Irene’s dragon body. It would’ve been so cool.

Irene was definetly insane, no wonder after her past, this insanity came out during the fight. When she was denied a normal bodie yet again she lashed out and lost it, intending to end erza and everyone else with her meteor. However in a moment of clarity she realised that she couldnt kill her beloved daughter. So she offed herself to ensure she wont go mad again and kill erza

@Divine Lotus seriously, have you ever been a mom? Or at least do you understand what does it feel to be a mom? Just a smile of your child can make you forget all the pain you've been through. Irene is a good person, but what she has been through made her bad. That smile of Erza reminds her of how much she loves Erza-her own child. I honestly don't understand why people hold so much hatred upon this great last arc. Alvarez was so emotional and well-written, the plot twist of Natsu being the E.N.D was all planned from the start. No matter what people say, Fairy Tail is always one of the best animes ever.

Let’s face it this whole fight was pure plot armor, a tired, and injured Erza, and a low magic and tired Wendy could have never defeated Irene, Irene played with them, they could have died quick but Irene wanted to see how much her daughter grew...if the fight was delayed a bit more Erza could have regained more magic, and fight would have been cooler if Mira came back for revenge, after all the two strongest female fairies vs the strongest woman from the empire would have been so epic!

No just no...First of all, Erza and Wendy are the two strongest Fairy Tail women since Wendy has far eclipsed Mira at this point. Proof: Dragon Force is confirmed to give a dragon slayer the power of the most formidable of dragons. Dragons are the most powerful beings in the show. Wendy was literally the only human who was able to destroy a Face. Not even Jura (i.e: a Wizard Saint and someone who Mira herself said she wouldn’t be able to beat) was able to do that. Wendy is able to use that power at will. So Wendy>Jura>Mira.
Second of all, Wendy and Erza weren’t tired and that badly injured at the start of the fight. And how they were at the beginning, they could definitely at least draw with her. By the time they were both injured, it was just persistence and pretty much a stalemate. They didn’t defeat her...And frankly, you’re an idiot if you think there was remotely any plot armor involved in this fight whatsoever lol.

Why do i feel like irene has been holding back? She's (could be) one of the strongest wizard in the entire fairy tail world, she's been alive for 400 years, for those years she's constantly learning spells and tricks, if she wants to kill erza she could kill her in just a blink... you see how irene killed herself? Maybe she was thinking she's too powerful for them and if her mind would be corrupted by darkness again she would try to kill her daughter again... she could be par with acnologia though, since she's an enchanter and a dragon slayer...
Idk I felt like Irene was holding back for sure! As you said she could have obliterated them in an instant. Probably with just her pinkie TBH! She probably wanted to see how much her daughter grew and it shows that no matter what situation a mother will always love their child. Irene was way to powerful for any of them so I think she killed herself to at least to give them a fighting chance. Cause to her it might have been the least she can do after being absent for the past idk 18 years of her daughter’s life. It was honestly so bittersweet! Because Irene was hella OP and she was a great character/ villain. But at the same time Irene was suffering in a way, so now she’s probably free from that and at peace.

As we've seen August's abilities can't do anything about physical attacks or magic he can't copy(he had to actually dodge cana's card attacks). 1 good swat of her claws at him and he's out for the count.

Also you learn that future wendy (adult version) will most likely be a crazy powerful enchantress. Who will possibly be able to fly at will.

To be fair Hiro just wanted Wendy to pull so many asspulls this fight. Hence why she swapped bodies with Wendy. She could defeat Erza with Wendy's body. However, Hiro made Wendy take over Irene's body via a asspull.
yea hiro included the usual huge asspulls in this fight for plot progression from wendy’s enchantments being on par with irene’s to erza cutting through a meteor & dragon scales w/ one hand but the saving grace was despite all THAT irene still had to kill herself to be defeated & i’d like to think she was holding back the whole time bc she was never serious on killing erza from the start

i think i seen up till ep 5 of fairy tail, then i put it on break.. one time though i seen a girl with a fairly tail hoodie in in the store, she gave ma a hug and said i was her bff.. i didnt even know her name, i was completely shocked.. (well but i guess anime fans are just cool towards eachoter i suppose (: ) she even asked if i had a tatoo, i was pretty suprised, ive not seen that many people with anime clotches on in public yet i suppose.. if fairy tail like other shonens, i bet its pretty good i guess (: i dont think ive seen this parent dynamic though, much in shonnen child vs parent eyy, maybe yu yu hakusho i suppose..

Honestly, I lost all interest in the anime ever since Irene died, lol. She was genuinely the only interesting character left in the show. I already read the manga, so I knew what was coming even after I had stopped watching the anime adaptation.

A mother's love for their child will never change, even if they do become cruel to them, they love them, their hard work of giving birth to their child is a pain that no man can imagine, some mothers die while giving birth. But in this anime, this fight, had more lessons for me than the others, can you imagine? Irene aimed for her child to be born to take over thr body, but after 400 years, she ended up abandoning that aim, her goal, because she loves her child, so let's love our mothers to the fullest!
I feel like Irene still loved her daughter, she was angry at herself cos she felt guilty for abandoning her and she wanted to get rid of that guilt, that's why she tried to kill erza, but then she eventually remembers how much she loves her so she killed herself instead

Just because someone stumbles and loses their way doesn’t mean they are lost forever. I think this quote from professor xavier fits irene so well. Irene and Wanda have/had tragic lives and didnt do many good things in their lives. But in the end , both saw how monstrous they have become and gave an end just because they knew that they have lost , went overboard and couldnt live with their own mistakes. Its kind of sad that their only redemption is simply death..
Wanda is not redeemable, she an f-ed up, psycho stitch who believed that the world owed her because she had a semi-tragic child-and-adulthood. They should've kept Quicksilver alive because he was a better character and a potential hero than her

Irene is mentaly unstable, no wonder after what she went through. She has moments where she snaps, in 2 moments where she lost it she nearly killed erza (first time as infant before catching herself, second time after losing wendys body in a fit of rage). I think that her sacrificing herself in a moment of clarity to protect her highly estranged daughter is a great moment. Think about it they both are the furthest thing apart from being family, yet irene killed herself knowing that way she can keep erza safe from her
I actually really love this fight the minute Wendy switches to Irene’s body she doesn’t like it. All her time on Fairy Tail she’s talked about how it isn’t fair that she’s small while looking at other big girls, and now she finally learns to love her body-she’s content with being small for the rest of her life, finally she loves her for her. Not only that but Erza learns to take pride in being called the Fairy Queen, Titania.

It is if you like stupidity. Every bone broken in her body but she can crush a meteor then one hit a dragon. Irene transforms back then kills herself because of plot-no-jutsu. This whole fight was dumb as fuck.
But we cannot deny the fact that from the start Irene is not a bad person it's just her situation made that to her and still, she is a mother that loves her child and that's the reason why she can't pull out her full power

Seeing how Irene desperately stop Erza from colliding with meteor cause she know it would be impossible for a human to destroy a meteor. Also at Tartaros Arc, when Gray was about to do to Iced shell to seal Silver but Silver desperately said that it would be useless cause he is now imune to ice unlike before. Just seeing how they stop they're children from doing things that could kill them is enough to know that still care and love them

After a plenty of rewatch, I still can't get over this fight. The voice actress of both Irene and Wendy is amazing. And you can only see Wendy swear one time, I know what your thinking, Irene is the one who swear and not Wendy since she was in her body, but still, Wendy's voice actress is the one who cursed, what I meant is seeing Wendy's own body swear. Still, the line "I love that you have large chest." still cracks me up so much. I still laughed so hard at this even after rewatching this over a lot of times.

Erza should have a died after her heroic (non) sacrifice. Or at least, end up severely injured. She can't just end up being 100% well. It doesn't work that way. I mean even Naruto end up injured after his last blow against Sasuke.
And Erza ending up dead after an heroic sacrifice would have been very beautiful. She gave her life to makes all the other survives, enable them to win the war. It would have been 100% logical with Fairy Tail's credo.
Look Vegita sacrifice (yeah, he failed and he came back, but still.), it was teardropping, sad, heroic, awesomely touching. And he did it top helps the others. To win against the most dangerous creature they ever faced (and because he seek redemption too). And if Buu would have died from this massive blow. Then his sacrifice would have been a brilliant idea. And Vegita would have been remembered now, as a symbol, as a hero, a legend, a bad and horrible guy who progressively became kind-hearted, a dear and lovable husband and dad, a fierce and proud warrior, a trustful friend who didn't hesitate to took his own life, to make something good for the greater good, not only for himself, but for the sake of everyone's else. Which would have been really beautiful.

Irene is a total beast who basically lost only because she wanted Wendy's body and couldn't kill her daughter.
It's quite realistic given the combatant's abilities and personalities up until the point where Irene transforms. Erza with broken bones even with enchanted blade had no business running let alone destorying that meteor or defeating Irene in one hit. Personally I would've prefered if after Irene's transformation Acnologia arrived, fought her, Irene would've lost and became so injured that she transformed back to human but still used her powers protected Erza (and Wendy). Wendy could heal herself and Erza in the meantime and then we come back to canon; Acnologia stomps on Irene's corpse, wants to kill Wendy, Jellal arrives etc.
Anyway this fight also shows that women in Fairy Tail despite its fanservice aren't just objects but that they are powerful, interesting and important characters with lot of influence over the story which definitely isn't the case for many non-fanservice manga/anime like e.g. Naruto.
