I’m one of those old guys who likes to go fast on small bikes and knows that a 300cc bike in the right hands will outride any 600cc bike on the back roads. Took very little work to turn this into a great corner scratcher and finding them used at great prices is no hard task. Not just for begginers

These small displacement bikes are a blast to ride on street or track & have plenty of power for everyday riding & are very reliable. IMO they are way more practical for street riding because you can actually use all the gears without being at triple digit speeds & are so much fun in the twisties. Nice review!

I paid $108 to insure my CBR300R for an entire year. I’m 180lb and it hauls my 90 lb lady around on the bike with easy. Both of us in full gear and enough crap for a long weekend getaway, is no probable. With both of us it’ll easily do 80mph on the freeway in ca. The interstate would be a little harder two up because most of the traffic is flowing at about 110mph

    • @ThePeacePlant

  • @CharlesHuse

Some of those stats are for the CB300R….a different bike from the CBR.
The CB300R is the neo-cafe/naked sport style. It is 317lbs wet with the 2.7 gallon tank.
By contrast, the CBR300R shown is equipped with a 3.5 gallon tank with a wet weight of about 357lbs or 364lbs with the optional ABS. The advantage of the CBR or the CB is this: The CBR300R has both the battery and air filter accessible under the seat, whereas the CB300R, you must remove the seat, the plastic bodywork around the fuel tank, and unbolt and lift the front of the tank to find the battery.

im on my way into the world of riding motorcycles. my only experience was on a Kawasaki 500r 2008, a Kawasaki 1998 750r a 2001 Yamaha r6 yzf, and lastly Yamaha 2005 r1 . i am going to purchase my first motorcycle next friday and after researching for the past 2 years im finally come to the conclusion that this will be my first motorcycle. (i was stuck between choosing honda or yamaha) i already got my endorsement and gear and super excited about getting into this, all i need know is the bike. after a couple years and i gain experience under my belt i plan on upgrading my motorcycle and going from honda too yamaha also doubling the cc. for my past experience i personally believe honda lacks what yamaha has got, so why start on a honda? just thought it would be safer for me and cost. i dont need that extra bit of ass that the r3 provides i want to start small and work my way up. i also am not a fan of other motorcycle name brands like kawasaki or suzuki.

I like how light and awesome looking it is. I was able to push mine up a steep driveway in between a car. With me weighing 200lbs, I can get a top speed of 95 to 100mph. I don't really feel confident speeding up to get out the way of cars on the highway at times, but the CBR300r is a fun starter motorcycle. I feel like it makes me a much better rider than starting with a liter bike. Also really easy to clutch up wheelie at 7000rpm during a slow roll. Insurance through State farm is cheap.

It is a lightweight 75 MPG for expert riders as well. I am 6 foot 3". With fuel at $4 plus, it is my choice. Thank you for including me with the rookies. Most reviews love the words entry and beginners bike.

Well if u leave it in the garage for a few years like I did, you soon realize it is not all reliable as they say. Mine got rust in the tank and the replacing the tank costs over 1/5th of the value of the bike. It still runs fine though but eventually the rust will clog up the fuel filters/pumps.

Totally depends on the type of riding you want to be doing, the cbr is a great introduction to sportbikes and has a slightly higher top speed while maintaining the forward lean all sportbike riders love, the rebel will be more of an introduction to cruising bikes and such.

I want to know if this is just me or if anyone else that has ridden this bike feels the same way. I have been riding dirt bikes throughout my childhood (I still have on that I ride often) and I have only owned standard shift cars. So throttle and clutch control are a non issue for me. I have been riding this bike in the MSF course and I HATE the fueling on this bike. You barely breath (like an 1/8in of a turn) on the throttle and it wants to rev up to 5K. you let off and it runs back down to idle and starts engine breaking. The throttle on this bike feels like an on off switch and I hate it. When I turn the throttle I want smooth precise control of the RPM's and I don't get that on this bike. Has anyone else experienced this on this bike or is this just the bike I am ridding having problems. It is a MSF bike so I would not be shocked if it got dropped in the past and something broke in the process.
