I own one, yes! My top speed as a 260lb man is 103mph. Use synthetic race oil. It sounds better, more throttle response I believe for better compression. And 65mpg always reving it up. Got it $3500 brand new on sale. Keep you rev around 4-5k for fast snap throttle response. I rode it on the highway at about 85mph... 40 miles one way to work no issues.
@@callous21 Not really it's a lite bike. So the wind will push you a little. Just lay down and pull it all close and your a missile. If you site up then yes you will get alot of wind in the chest. But that's why I ride to be in the environment not hiding behind a window.
I currently live and work in Thailand... And here, a 300 is considered big, anyhow. Besides that, though, that size is a great all_around ride as it handles the highway ok and yet zips around back roads with aplomb, allowing the rider to suck th marrow out of life without draining ur wallet on gas, replacement parts etc etc. Very nice vid, keep em coming
I did the opposite of most people. I started on a GSXR 600 and it was fine as long as you respect the throttle. But it would CONSTANTLY break down. I sold it and wanted to try a smaller bike so I got a CBR300. So far I love it and I can actually shift through all of the gears and red line them without going 100+ so that's always fun! Although I have to admit when I'm feeling lazy I miss just keeping my 600 in 3rd and never having to shift lol. Probably why I didn't kill myself starting on one I'd just keep it in 2nd or 3rd gear 95% of the time.
Seeker Vayne They really are quite a bit of fun! I made a video about a month ago where I talk about whether I regret upgrading to a 600 and if I miss my 300.
My first bike is a 2015 CBR300R as well. I got it 6 months ago with 1,200 miles on it and it now has a little over 5,000! Grate daily! Now looking into getting a ZX6R for my next bike!!
I love mine bro... I've had mine for 2 yrs... Still not in a rush to upgrade.. & straight fact on twisties.. Rode with a 900 z & a ninja 636 on backroads... Dude on 900 was shocked i kept up with him... And we had to wait on the 636 multiple times.... Lol i was throwing the 300 around like nothing... Love it bro....btw I hit 100mph ....

I got a 2015 as a second bike and I ride it far more then I do my GSX-S1000! It’s easier to work on parts are nothing not that it need much it don’t but super easy to adjust the chain spray it and be off! I wish it had a slight taller gear I feel like it has the torque to pull it just fine!
I have a Honda CB300F and a Kawasaki Ninja 300. Both great bikes. The Ninja is smoother and in my opinion, has better use of all the gears. I love smaller 300cc class bikes. The are light and a blast to have fun on.
I did end up selling my 300 a little over a month ago and got a 600. If I could’ve kept it, I would’ve! But I had to use the money from the 300 to get the new bike
i do agree, the issue is , for me , is that one i could loose some weight (im about 6'2" 230lbs) and as much as i love twisty roads and corners my commute to school and work is about 30 min on the highway, if im going slightly up hill with a decent bit of wind the bike will struggle to hit 80 mph and i generally cruse at 85-90 in a car (we drive fast here) and in perfect conditions the cbr 300 tops out at 95 so its probably even worse for that bike, i cant be full tuck for 30 minutes with a backpack full of books and a computer that weights 15lbs on top of what i already weigh. thats just not reasonable, if my commute was 15 minutes on normal side streets fuck yeah id get a 300 but at the end of the day, yeah it might be heavier, and a bit more work to manage the power, but ill be fine on a 600, you just have to take it slow and make sure you dont get ahead of yourself.
CJR Yeah obviously every situation is different for every person! You seem like you consider all the different factors and take everything into consideration. One of my riding friends just got a new ninja 650 and he likes it a lot, so maybe look into those! It’s a parallel twin, so it has good low end torque and will easily do highway speeds like you’re talking about and it has a really comfortable seating position
Yeah, but I don’t have a lot of money to buy a bike in the first place so if I just get a newer 600 it’ll last me for longer (5 years plus Ik I’m not going to get bored in a week) and with them being around the same cost as a 2015 zx6r ,which has power modes to help lower the power, and that bike being my dream bike it just makes more sense then getting a 650, which is already close in cost but doesn’t have the track ability of a super sport. Track is a big part of riding for me because, a lot of my friends love to track their cars and it’s a thing we all do together. a zx6r will keep up with a e36 m3 a lot better than a ninja 650, and track is a great place to learn how to really ride so all around is just a great idea
CJR the power mode thing is a really good feature to have. My Gsxr has it and you can definitely tell the difference between modes. Hope you can find your zx6r man! Let me know if you end up getting one!
600s are totally fine for a first bike... before 300s were a thing, all of my friends and i started on 600s. back then we were called crazy for starting on 1000s.

Thanks for your review. I'm just a beginner and never have a motorcycle and never ride before. Actually I am looking forward to buying my first motorcycle. I like big motorcycle like the BMW s1000. But as a beginner I don't think it's good for me to start with a 1000cc motorcycle. But I don't want to start with a small one and buy a big one in the future. I just one and that's it. Maybe I should probably start with a 600cc motorcycle and keep it.
Just got one and I love the ride bc I like to cruise and play occasionally but more just into enjoying the ride and love the maneuvering just wish it had a gear indicator hate guessing lol
I have the 250, I've had it for going on three years now. I mainly stay in the city, going to work and just tooling around. Only time I wish i had a 650 is on long highway trips, and for that sweet 4 cylinder scream. Other than that I love my little bike, and I'll be real sad when I eventually sell it for a 650. Not for a couple more years though.
FaceRR They really are underrated bikes! They have enough power to have fun on, they’re super easy to handle, they’re perfect for riding around in the city. Just like you, I know a lot of people that have 600s or 1000s and still keep their 300
I knew for sure I did not want to start on anything with a choke. fuel injection is a must for my first bike, thats why I turned down the ninja 250. im between a R3 and a CBR300r
people that ride 300's dont always have to give justification for why they ride what they ride. people jump on a 600 dont know how to ride and end up doing 300 speeds anyway. ride what u ride and stop feeling like ur less than 300 riders. safe is always better. you cant ride if your paralyzed or dead lol so ride safe out there !

After getting my driving license as my first bike should I get 300cc or 500cc? I wanna learn and get used to ride a bike. And dunno if I should get something stronger, also more expensive... So I was thinking about 300cc. Maybe R3. 42 hp and 2 cylinders.

Tbh just test drive them both 600 and 300 and see which one is more comfortable for your riding style then decide this is how I would do it but Iam still on a 125 but I have rode bigger bikes
How many Km's can you get on one of these bikes? just got my L's and want to Ride it everyday just to get to work and home, probably be riding like 40km's/day. Found one on Facebook Marketplace for 3.5k with 17k Km's (prices in australia are different, especially where I live Rurally..) Thanks :)
Hi sorry about the late reply! From what I remember, I was able to get around 100 miles (160 km) on one tank of gas and it cost about $7 to fill up. I could do an entire week of commuting on one tank of gas! Hope this helps! Let me know if you end up buying one!
IncognitoPotat0 I’m actually really glad that you commented this, that’s good information for someone around your weight that might be hesitant to get a 300 for fear that it won’t get around as well!
Bought a CB300R new in July 2020. I must have the only engine of it's type with a faulty water pump seal leaking from new in Australia and not 1 single seal in the country for a reasonably timed warranty replacement. I have been promised a minimum of 6 weeks from the time the fault was discovered until maybe a ship will get a new seal into the country. Oh and for the 1st week nothing was done; no job card made up; no seal ordered. And if for some reason the seal is not on that ship or the ship does not arrive on time no idea what is supposed to happen. So bike sitting unrideable {safely} and nothing will get done like say putting a 10 cent sized seal on a plane to get one into the country. I cannot get over the fact there is not one single seal after who knows how many bikes with this engine type must have been sold here on anything from various 250's to CBR300R & CB300F with an engine reportedly designed to be a multi use engine world wide to aid in such things as easy parts supply due to wide use. For me the bike went from being a welcome addition to something I am sorry I bought in one week leaving me wishing I had bought any one of the several other bikes I had shortlisted for my purposes.
I. Ride a ybr 125cc...and its all legal .. I ride very fast from a to b .. in town to country lanes .. average 65..to 80 mph .. got my test coming .. up .. its not easy to pop wheelies and I have to sit right to bk of seat to make it pop .. difficult to to burn outs every harder to drift but possible on dirt ot gravel ... I'm a speed demon but I don't loose my head especially since most drivers are in a semi catatonic state ..ha . Anyways I'm wrestling wiv upgrading to a 300 for a Yr ..then get a 600. Riding a 125cc is all about momentum...and is very forgiving.. I don't wanna miss out on feeling the buzz of a 300.. coming from a great 125 buzz ... then going into a 600 buzz .. harry Potter stylee .. the only downside is that a 300 for travel . a 600 would be awesome for longer distances.. if I could afford it .. id have a 250 motorcross for in town and work stuff ...and the 600 for girlfriend and travelling through Europe...or coast .. 300 for a Yr will help insurance . Some things are worth waiting for ..
hey guys, i get my bike l's in about a month, ive got a sweet deal for a 2014 cbr 300, im having to travel around 30kms to work and 30 kms back, all on a motorway at about 100kmh/60mph the bike im looking at has 14k kms and looks fairly well maintained. Should i get a 300 or try get a 500 because i dont have a great amount of money and i need the ability to get to work and back
Driving with your high beams on activates both bulbs. Someone pulling onto the road ahead of you will think youre much farther away than you are. You are in fact doing more harm than good by rising with high beams on. Not to mention illegal and blinding for other drivers. Other than that, ride safe homie
I had this issue with my ninja 400. Both lights stayed on all the time. A guy from work pulled out in front of me thinking I was a car far away. So proven. (He did apologize)
With both head lamps on gives a better visibility for drivers overall, but shows it’s still not perfect. The way of the world amongst motorcycle and cars.
Unless yo I rode dirt bikes or are 300lbs+ you should get a 400cc or smaller to start. You can accidentally crash or lay down way easier and starting off is much harder and way more likely to roast a clutch with more power or displacement. You don’t need to go over 90-100mph at first
Honestly for me that wouldn’t be a deal breaker. Having owned a bike with a gear indicator and one without, it’s not as big of a benefit as you would think. I determine what gear I need based off of engine rpms. It’s not difficult to ride a bike that doesn’t have a gear indicator, only thing that might happen is you try to upshift when you’re already in 6th, but I still accidentally do that sometimes and my new bike even has a gear indicator
I got a 1000 as my first bike 4 years ago, FZ10. Just saying, it's not dumb, just have to not be dumb. I was 32 when I got it, so that's a factor. I know well that I'm not invincible.
Yeah my first was this cbr300r and I’m bored of it already wish I would have gone bigger..I bought it brand new for 4100$. Wish I would have bought a used one and not spent so much:( now I’m stuck with it
@@drapermike I live in the Midwest, so long, straight roads everywhere. Definitely a factor in deciding to get a bigger cc bike, cuz otherwise I'd be bored. That said, if you live in a place with elevation/curves, I bet you are becoming a better rider than me. With less power, there's more freedom to explore limits. And FWIW, I've still never gone full throttle on the bike - it power-on wheelies in the first 3 gears, and that isn't my sorta thing. 50 less hp and I'd still be happy.
As some one who downgraded from a 500 to 300… don’t do that 500 is just better in every way, this video keeps talking about how good that bike is but tbh I’ve gotten bored of the cbr300 in less then 2 weeks of constant riding, power is lacking, people who say don’t get anything more then 400 is thinking that you might not have throttle discipline…. If you have good control then start on a 500 and then 600
I’m a pretty expierenced rider but I rode harleys. I just sold my harley and was thinking of getting a 300 because I don’t want to lose my license lol is it something fun to ride even as an experienced rider? I like going through twisties and stuff I love speed but I don’t want the temptation. Plus they are so dang cheap!
I really do think you’d have a blast on a 300, especially if you like riding twisties. Since they’re really lightweight bikes, you can throw them all over the place and they handle super well. There’s a series of 6 roundabouts where I used to live and I could fly through them like it was nothing. And if you do want to get on the throttle, you still can! Most 300s can still do 90-100 mph!

If you take good care of a bike (regular oil changes and maintenance) and don’t beat the piss out of it, most bikes should go 30,000 miles no problem. I think I sold mine with a little over 10,000 miles for $2,300. You can find 300s for reasonably cheap and always try to negotiate the seller a little lower than their asking price
Anup Ripper I do think black looks really good on these bikes, but depending on where you live and how hot it gets during the summer, a black bike is gonna be like riding an oven. Black is also a hard color to keep clean since it shows dirt easier. Red is also my favorite color 😋

Because all I’m doing is sitting there and there’s nothing interesting going on! I try to cut out the footage at stoplights that way there’s new scenery and stuff to look at during the whole video!

@@mikecal516 Your welcome, we've had 4 250r's in the family. My youngest son and daughter both got repsol versions as new leftovers in 2015. They rode with me from north central Iowa to the Tail of the Dragon 964 miles one way. We did 2500 miles in 7 days and those 250s had no problem. I just laugh when anyone talks about these bikes not being highway capable. Congrats on your 300r!!

Zachary Manning I really have no regrets starting on a 300! People might give you shit for it, but do what you’re comfortable with! I absolutely love this bike and it’s such an easy bike to ride.
@@Lynkinite I have been having difficult time getting used to wind > this is my first bike and I think its insanely affected by wind. I'm hoping the windscreen helps out a little. I weight 180> and its scary on highway. I'm figuring a heavier bike would be so much easier. I don't understand how people ride one handed or do wheelies on the highway , i'm holding on for dear life with both hands to stay in lane.
e Wind will affect bigger bikes as well. I took my gixxer on the highway and the wind was blowing me around too. It feels a lot worse than it actually is. I was watching some of the people I was riding with and it didn’t look like they were getting blown around at all but they said they were. The wind screen will definitely help get the air up over you though. Let me know how it works out!
Zvmbie Sorry I didn’t get a notification that you responded! I think Katy is somewhere around 5’2” or 5’4” and she was on her tip toes and had to get hers lowered a couple inches. I imagine you’d be fine, it’s not a super tall bike
If you or, let's say your buddy who's looking to buy, have ANY sort of experience with manual shifting and using a clutch, then starting on a 600cc isn't AT ALL a horrible idea. Even if all experience is on, let's say, a quad. Operating the clutch and knowing what to do to come to a stop, or to take off is the biggest challenge for most NEW riders. It's not necessarily the power of a bike that will get someone in trouble. All this back and forth about what someone should start on is just ridiculous. People need to use THEIR OWN judgment and not watch so many videos to make a decision. Sometimes people can have fairly decent amount of experience with manual shifting and using a clutch yet because they watched SO MANY videos and OTHER people's thoughts about it that even starting on a smaller cc bike will have them so freaked out and will lack the confidence EVERY rider should have when getting on a bike. And to be honest, if someone had ZERO experience with ANY SORT of riding, I would suggest not start on a street bike AT ALL. Buy a dirt bike or quad and learn to use a clutch before jumping straight into traffic. Just my opinion. Nice lil CBR you got there yo. Good luck with the new bike. You should test ride some different class bikes imo. The naked bikes are FAR MORE exciting to street ride than the SEXY sport bikes. But I know the love. I own 2 myself 👊✊
RenesMDJ I really didn’t have any intentions of this video turning into the whole “start on a 300 or 600” debate. The reason I mentioned that was to essentially point out the fact that on a 300, you won’t have to worry about controlling the power on top of not really knowing how to ride to begin with. I’m not saying everyone has to start on a 300, that wasn’t the point I was trying to get across. I’m not opposed to the idea of starting on a 600, believe me, I probably could’ve very easily started on one since I had experience before buying this bike. Like you said though, it’s each person’s decision and they can use their own judgement on what’s best for them!

RenesMDJ Yeah people either seem to love or hate 300s! I know of a lot of people that still have them even though they have liter bikes because of how incredibly easy they are to ride! There’s no shame in starting on one, I’m definitely glad that I did. There’s a lot to take into consideration when picking your first bike, and I do think it is good to get different opinions but ultimately you’re the only one that knows what’s right for you
Funny thing is I actually eat more than most people I know 😂 I just have a really high metabolism over here. I try like hell to gain weight, I just can’t 🤷🏻♂️
Michael's AE86 I’m personally not a fan of the streetfighter or naked look on bikes. There’s some that I will admit look good, but I tend to lean more towards full fairing bikes. That’s just my opinion though, go with what you like more!
Leighton Hornack you’ll feel the wind a little more on a naked bike if it doesn’t have a windscreen, but that’s about it. You might also see a slight drop in fuel mileage since it makes the bike slightly less aerodynamic. It’s not a big difference though

i do agree, the issue is , for me , is that one i could loose some weight (im about 6'2" 230lbs) and as much as i love twisty roads and corners my commute to school and work is about 30 min on the highway, if im going slightly up hill with a decent bit of wind the bike will struggle to hit 80 mph and i generally cruse at 85-90 in a car (we drive fast here) and in perfect conditions the cbr 300 tops out at 95 so its probably even worse for that bike, i cant be full tuck for 30 minutes with a backpack full of books and a computer that weights 15lbs on top of what i already weigh. thats just not reasonable, if my commute was 15 minutes on normal side streets fuck yeah id get a 300 but at the end of the day, yeah it might be heavier, and a bit more work to manage the power, but ill be fine on a 600, you just have to take it slow and make sure you dont get ahead of yourself.
CJR Yeah obviously every situation is different for every person! You seem like you consider all the different factors and take everything into consideration. One of my riding friends just got a new ninja 650 and he likes it a lot, so maybe look into those! It’s a parallel twin, so it has good low end torque and will easily do highway speeds like you’re talking about and it has a really comfortable seating position
Yeah, but I don’t have a lot of money to buy a bike in the first place so if I just get a newer 600 it’ll last me for longer (5 years plus Ik I’m not going to get bored in a week) and with them being around the same cost as a 2015 zx6r ,which has power modes to help lower the power, and that bike being my dream bike it just makes more sense then getting a 650, which is already close in cost but doesn’t have the track ability of a super sport. Track is a big part of riding for me because, a lot of my friends love to track their cars and it’s a thing we all do together. a zx6r will keep up with a e36 m3 a lot better than a ninja 650, and track is a great place to learn how to really ride so all around is just a great idea
CJR the power mode thing is a really good feature to have. My Gsxr has it and you can definitely tell the difference between modes. Hope you can find your zx6r man! Let me know if you end up getting one!
600s are totally fine for a first bike... before 300s were a thing, all of my friends and i started on 600s. back then we were called crazy for starting on 1000s.
That's when they made like 50hp.

Thanks for your review. I'm just a beginner and never have a motorcycle and never ride before. Actually I am looking forward to buying my first motorcycle. I like big motorcycle like the BMW s1000. But as a beginner I don't think it's good for me to start with a 1000cc motorcycle. But I don't want to start with a small one and buy a big one in the future. I just one and that's it. Maybe I should probably start with a 600cc motorcycle and keep it.
Just got one and I love the ride bc I like to cruise and play occasionally but more just into enjoying the ride and love the maneuvering just wish it had a gear indicator hate guessing lol

I have the 250, I've had it for going on three years now. I mainly stay in the city, going to work and just tooling around. Only time I wish i had a 650 is on long highway trips, and for that sweet 4 cylinder scream. Other than that I love my little bike, and I'll be real sad when I eventually sell it for a 650. Not for a couple more years though.

I knew for sure I did not want to start on anything with a choke. fuel injection is a must for my first bike, thats why I turned down the ninja 250. im between a R3 and a CBR300r
people that ride 300's dont always have to give justification for why they ride what they ride. people jump on a 600 dont know how to ride and end up doing 300 speeds anyway. ride what u ride and stop feeling like ur less than 300 riders. safe is always better. you cant ride if your paralyzed or dead lol so ride safe out there !

Tbh just test drive them both 600 and 300 and see which one is more comfortable for your riding style then decide this is how I would do it but Iam still on a 125 but I have rode bigger bikes

Hi sorry about the late reply! From what I remember, I was able to get around 100 miles (160 km) on one tank of gas and it cost about $7 to fill up. I could do an entire week of commuting on one tank of gas! Hope this helps! Let me know if you end up buying one!

Yep. I'm 200lbs on a 2017 cbr300r and it hits 95 to 100 mph. Even if I get a faster bike, I'm keeping my 300

Bought a CB300R new in July 2020. I must have the only engine of it's type with a faulty water pump seal leaking from new in Australia and not 1 single seal in the country for a reasonably timed warranty replacement. I have been promised a minimum of 6 weeks from the time the fault was discovered until maybe a ship will get a new seal into the country. Oh and for the 1st week nothing was done; no job card made up; no seal ordered. And if for some reason the seal is not on that ship or the ship does not arrive on time no idea what is supposed to happen. So bike sitting unrideable {safely} and nothing will get done like say putting a 10 cent sized seal on a plane to get one into the country. I cannot get over the fact there is not one single seal after who knows how many bikes with this engine type must have been sold here on anything from various 250's to CBR300R & CB300F with an engine reportedly designed to be a multi use engine world wide to aid in such things as easy parts supply due to wide use. For me the bike went from being a welcome addition to something I am sorry I bought in one week leaving me wishing I had bought any one of the several other bikes I had shortlisted for my purposes.

I. Ride a ybr 125cc...and its all legal .. I ride very fast from a to b .. in town to country lanes .. average 65..to 80 mph .. got my test coming .. up .. its not easy to pop wheelies and I have to sit right to bk of seat to make it pop .. difficult to to burn outs every harder to drift but possible on dirt ot gravel ... I'm a speed demon but I don't loose my head especially since most drivers are in a semi catatonic state ..ha . Anyways I'm wrestling wiv upgrading to a 300 for a Yr ..then get a 600. Riding a 125cc is all about momentum...and is very forgiving.. I don't wanna miss out on feeling the buzz of a 300.. coming from a great 125 buzz ... then going into a 600 buzz .. harry Potter stylee .. the only downside is that a 300 for travel . a 600 would be awesome for longer distances.. if I could afford it .. id have a 250 motorcross for in town and work stuff ...and the 600 for girlfriend and travelling through Europe...or coast .. 300 for a Yr will help insurance . Some things are worth waiting for ..
hey guys, i get my bike l's in about a month, ive got a sweet deal for a 2014 cbr 300, im having to travel around 30kms to work and 30 kms back, all on a motorway at about 100kmh/60mph the bike im looking at has 14k kms and looks fairly well maintained. Should i get a 300 or try get a 500 because i dont have a great amount of money and i need the ability to get to work and back

Driving with your high beams on activates both bulbs. Someone pulling onto the road ahead of you will think youre much farther away than you are. You are in fact doing more harm than good by rising with high beams on. Not to mention illegal and blinding for other drivers. Other than that, ride safe homie
I had this issue with my ninja 400. Both lights stayed on all the time. A guy from work pulled out in front of me thinking I was a car far away. So proven. (He did apologize)
With both head lamps on gives a better visibility for drivers overall, but shows it’s still not perfect. The way of the world amongst motorcycle and cars.
300 cc used to be mid range in the 60s and 70s!
Unless yo I rode dirt bikes or are 300lbs+ you should get a 400cc or smaller to start. You can accidentally crash or lay down way easier and starting off is much harder and way more likely to roast a clutch with more power or displacement. You don’t need to go over 90-100mph at first

Honestly for me that wouldn’t be a deal breaker. Having owned a bike with a gear indicator and one without, it’s not as big of a benefit as you would think. I determine what gear I need based off of engine rpms. It’s not difficult to ride a bike that doesn’t have a gear indicator, only thing that might happen is you try to upshift when you’re already in 6th, but I still accidentally do that sometimes and my new bike even has a gear indicator
I got a 1000 as my first bike 4 years ago, FZ10. Just saying, it's not dumb, just have to not be dumb. I was 32 when I got it, so that's a factor. I know well that I'm not invincible.
Yeah my first was this cbr300r and I’m bored of it already wish I would have gone bigger..I bought it brand new for 4100$. Wish I would have bought a used one and not spent so much:( now I’m stuck with it
@@drapermike I live in the Midwest, so long, straight roads everywhere. Definitely a factor in deciding to get a bigger cc bike, cuz otherwise I'd be bored. That said, if you live in a place with elevation/curves, I bet you are becoming a better rider than me. With less power, there's more freedom to explore limits. And FWIW, I've still never gone full throttle on the bike - it power-on wheelies in the first 3 gears, and that isn't my sorta thing. 50 less hp and I'd still be happy.

As some one who downgraded from a 500 to 300… don’t do that 500 is just better in every way, this video keeps talking about how good that bike is but tbh I’ve gotten bored of the cbr300 in less then 2 weeks of constant riding, power is lacking, people who say don’t get anything more then 400 is thinking that you might not have throttle discipline…. If you have good control then start on a 500 and then 600
I’m a pretty expierenced rider but I rode harleys. I just sold my harley and was thinking of getting a 300 because I don’t want to lose my license lol is it something fun to ride even as an experienced rider? I like going through twisties and stuff I love speed but I don’t want the temptation. Plus they are so dang cheap!
I really do think you’d have a blast on a 300, especially if you like riding twisties. Since they’re really lightweight bikes, you can throw them all over the place and they handle super well. There’s a series of 6 roundabouts where I used to live and I could fly through them like it was nothing. And if you do want to get on the throttle, you still can! Most 300s can still do 90-100 mph!

If you take good care of a bike (regular oil changes and maintenance) and don’t beat the piss out of it, most bikes should go 30,000 miles no problem. I think I sold mine with a little over 10,000 miles for $2,300. You can find 300s for reasonably cheap and always try to negotiate the seller a little lower than their asking price

Anup Ripper I do think black looks really good on these bikes, but depending on where you live and how hot it gets during the summer, a black bike is gonna be like riding an oven. Black is also a hard color to keep clean since it shows dirt easier. Red is also my favorite color 😋

Laway GSS It’s the Zero Gravity double bubble windscreen. I believe it was the darkest tint they offer. I like the way it looks!
If you ride a 450 dirt bike you can ride a 600 especially if you ride enduro or have used knobs on the street haha.

@@mikecal516 Your welcome, we've had 4 250r's in the family. My youngest son and daughter both got repsol versions as new leftovers in 2015. They rode with me from north central Iowa to the Tail of the Dragon 964 miles one way. We did 2500 miles in 7 days and those 250s had no problem. I just laugh when anyone talks about these bikes not being highway capable. Congrats on your 300r!!

I weight 180> and its scary on highway. I'm figuring a heavier bike would be so much easier. I don't understand how people ride one handed or do wheelies on the highway , i'm holding on for dear life with both hands to stay in lane.
e Wind will affect bigger bikes as well. I took my gixxer on the highway and the wind was blowing me around too. It feels a lot worse than it actually is. I was watching some of the people I was riding with and it didn’t look like they were getting blown around at all but they said they were. The wind screen will definitely help get the air up over you though. Let me know how it works out!

If you or, let's say your buddy who's looking to buy, have ANY sort of experience with manual shifting and using a clutch, then starting on a 600cc isn't AT ALL a horrible idea. Even if all experience is on, let's say, a quad. Operating the clutch and knowing what to do to come to a stop, or to take off is the biggest challenge for most NEW riders. It's not necessarily the power of a bike that will get someone in trouble. All this back and forth about what someone should start on is just ridiculous. People need to use THEIR OWN judgment and not watch so many videos to make a decision. Sometimes people can have fairly decent amount of experience with manual shifting and using a clutch yet because they watched SO MANY videos and OTHER people's thoughts about it that even starting on a smaller cc bike will have them so freaked out and will lack the confidence EVERY rider should have when getting on a bike. And to be honest, if someone had ZERO experience with ANY SORT of riding, I would suggest not start on a street bike AT ALL. Buy a dirt bike or quad and learn to use a clutch before jumping straight into traffic. Just my opinion. Nice lil CBR you got there yo. Good luck with the new bike. You should test ride some different class bikes imo. The naked bikes are FAR MORE exciting to street ride than the SEXY sport bikes. But I know the love. I own 2 myself 👊✊
RenesMDJ I really didn’t have any intentions of this video turning into the whole “start on a 300 or 600” debate. The reason I mentioned that was to essentially point out the fact that on a 300, you won’t have to worry about controlling the power on top of not really knowing how to ride to begin with. I’m not saying everyone has to start on a 300, that wasn’t the point I was trying to get across. I’m not opposed to the idea of starting on a 600, believe me, I probably could’ve very easily started on one since I had experience before buying this bike. Like you said though, it’s each person’s decision and they can use their own judgement on what’s best for them!

RenesMDJ Yeah people either seem to love or hate 300s! I know of a lot of people that still have them even though they have liter bikes because of how incredibly easy they are to ride! There’s no shame in starting on one, I’m definitely glad that I did. There’s a lot to take into consideration when picking your first bike, and I do think it is good to get different opinions but ultimately you’re the only one that knows what’s right for you

Michael's AE86 I’m personally not a fan of the streetfighter or naked look on bikes. There’s some that I will admit look good, but I tend to lean more towards full fairing bikes. That’s just my opinion though, go with what you like more!

Leighton Hornack you’ll feel the wind a little more on a naked bike if it doesn’t have a windscreen, but that’s about it. You might also see a slight drop in fuel mileage since it makes the bike slightly less aerodynamic. It’s not a big difference though
