    Kristoph is by far my favorite villain. He isn't some guy with incredible power or a crazy person who murders for some dumb reason. He is a cold hearted genius of a killer. His facade of a kind man who cares deeply about the law is there but doesn't hide the calm, maniacal brilliance and terror. He is somehow incredibly calm and intimidating at the same time. When his evil pokes out of his calm and smug demeanor, I get chills. His twitch of anger covered by a smug attitude is generally disturbing looking. His cold glares are terrifying and really feel like he is threatening Apollo with just just his eyes. Especially at 10:07. Where you can see him simply readjusting his glasses but under is a chilling glare of a murderer who notices that Apollo sees through him. He isn't scary because of a brutal murder or extreme use of power. He is a cold, cunning, and manipulative maniac who knows how to use the law and manipulation if others to get his way. His murders are far more brilliant and he clearly doesn't value human life as much as everyone else. This is at least what I picked up from him.

    Kristoph Gavin is the best Ace Attorney villain. No question. From his conniving and manipulative nature to the fact that he is one of the two reasons why the Dark Age of the Law exists, Kristoph is quite the character. I hope that they make some sort of reference to his fate from Klavier in the next installment of the main games.

      It was something that took the judicial system and either left a big rip in it, or torn it asunder. This happened because Kristoph wanted to be famous after working so hard, he didn't even want to be associated with Wright because of how he was known. So the fact that he also did this because he lost the card game, and Zak didn't want him as an defense attorney, it is despicable, despicable enough to partially be the reason why the dark age of the law happened.

    40:30 I’m taking a high school forensics class (adding the high school part to communicate that I’m by no means an expert and I might be off here), and this line in particular is so interesting to me because my teacher argues the opposite. The law is not absolute, but a floor. A foundation of sorts. That’s what makes Gant and Kristoph SUCH interesting villains for me; they’re running off the basis that law *is* absolute, which is in a way why both of them fall (especially ironic for Kristoph, who’s reason for his fall is literal forgery and covering up his tracks).
    At first, this part confused me, because I thought Kristoph was right. Law IS supposed to be absolute, right? It’s the good from the bad, the right from the wrong. But that’s black and white in. world of grey. Which is exactly what Klavier and Judge talk about. There have been so many cases that have shaped the law by revealing flaws and contradictions in the system, saying “law is absolute” is hilarously ignorant for a former attorney.

    I have been deciding this ever since I saw this game for the first time: Who is worse of a criminal? A mentally insane man named Kristoph Gavin who did all this over losing a card game? Or Dahlia Hawthorne killing everyone for the f*** of it. (2 million dollars, and revenge on Mia...same thing) Why don't you guys tell me? The phantom wasn't apart of this cause he had no past memories, Matt Engarde admitted his guilt after being pretty much announced innocent, and Gant...I didn't want to include because in many ways he was too similar to Gavin. So I just picked who I thought fit more. So demon from hell? Or card game fanatic? Tell me please!

      @rpgdreamer2008 9 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      Dahlia didn't kill just for the heck of it, she did so she could silence people from her plans and revenge, at first for his hatred on her dad and in the end on Mia for uncovering all of the truth. As Mia said, all of those murders were goofs of her.
      Kristoph is sorta like Von Karma. Is not a matter of losing to a card game (he wasn't even into it) or a penalty in court, it's a matter of "pride". Both built their perfect reputation were based on forgeries so any sort of rejection was inconceivable.

      Frankly, I see no difference between the two, because in the end they both committed murder in attempt to erase evidence about their past crimes (the fake kidnapping, the cafeteria poisoning and etc. for Dahlia and the forgery, Shadi Enigmar murder and etc. for Kristoph), they both wanted to keep their innocent facade intact (Dahlia as the "sweet angel" and Kristoph as the "cool, collected and respectable" defense attorney. Am I right or not?

      The absolute worst of the bunch in my opinion is Chief Gant. During his case, he was the manipulative bastard the whole time and caused several detectives to lose their jobs, got Edgeworth a massive penalty for unknowingly using forged evidence, and almost got two sisters the guilty verdict. All within the guise of the Chief of police. Let that sink in.

    11:36 FINALLY, someone pointed this out! These Apollo's "lie detector" observations are in no way sufficient grounds for any claims he makes out of them.

      Accel Rider X That's my point - it doesn't actually work, it only "works" because the script says so. The fact someone is twitching a finger or something is in no way sufficient proof that they are lying.
