Never thought I'd actually like Courtney or feel sorry for Sebastian... They changed a lot since we first met them!
Courtney didn't exactly changed though, did she? It was more like she had to play along in order stay beside Sebastian, she simply showed her true self when she got the chance
I feel like Sebastian does deserve that huge punch in the gut. He needs to fucking wake up for his own good, even if it's Blaise that turned him like that.
@@lyonvensa He did changed for the better, personally I'm proud of him, graduating from being an idiot who's always one step behind to being dependable enough to let him handle Blaise's trial.
It's the Old Chief Prosecutor vs the Future Chief Prosecutor
Actually that sounds awesome
Yep. Kinda wish that idea was Turnabout Time Traveler.
@@dnmstarsi Oh that would be awesome.
He wants to be the very best! Like no one ever was!
To prosecute them is his real test! To jail them is his cause!
My favorite reference in the game!

Also poor Kay memory loss XD

I came here for this comment. I love you.
Justine Courtney and Fransiska Von Karma
When they were standing side by side with their weapons ready they looked really cool XD
The whacking duo LMAOMINE
Whip and Gavel.
That's certainly sounds painful xD
Imagine.
Being squished by Courtney's Gavel and being whipped by Franziska at the same time.
Fucking torture, maaaan.

mariogamer20 coffee mugged, bird attacked and air guitared too
Guo Fengxiao Don't forget the toupe attack.
Ministry of Darkness Or having lobster borsht levitate around him?
The thing with Blaise bribing Themis Legal Academy to let Sebastian be The Best... It perfectly ties up Turnabout Academy with this case, with Hugh O'Conner and Aristotle Means. Could Means even be one of Blaise's corrupt friends?
Not impossible, but it's not likely he's one of the ones that dealt with Sebastian, as Means taught as part of the defense attorney's course, not the prosecutor's.
It is possible
@@Yunglex313 this takes place before Apollo justice and as we can see over the past 7+ years they switched the course colors from blue for prosecutors and red to defense to the other way around. We can see this being the case bc Sebastian wearing blue & is on the prosecutor track. But in dual destinies the color for the prosecutor tract is red. It’s possible that a during that time Means switched tracts as well. (Idk maybe he just likes to teach the students wearing blue bc he’s colorblind or some dumb reason like that you know how the weird logic in this series works by now)
Yeah but this case is great and that case sucks
I love how much character development the prosecutors get in these games, honestly. It's really awesome and I especially love Franziska's growth as a character in this part.
And so, yet another story of murder, vengeance, trauma, extortion, mental anguish, and bad parenting comes to an end with cheerful music and everybody feeling great.
What’s most surprising is that this also has puts Manfred in a new light. Despite his “perfect record”, the revelation that Blaise was the one responsible for falsifying evidence is reminiscent to how Damon also fabricated the evidence before handing to Edgeworth.
In the end, Von Karma was also as much a pawn like Miles, unsuspectingly deceived and as a result, caused rumours of evidence being fabricated. It just never seemed that someone else had an hand in it, being how Manfred had at least 20 years of flawless performance.
I frickin hate cour-
(Courtney moves to edgeworth's side)
I never hated you one bit!
Pokecupcake Damn, I misjudged her badly... but still it was pretty astounding.
So, you judge people based on whose side they are?
Ivan Pozdeev No, I judge them on what they believe in and strive for.

-BLAISE , I could kill BLAISE , that's totally what I was going to say
Character development in nutshell xD
AND HERE IS A TWIST. STARRING JUDGE COURTNEY.
11/10 seriously what the hell went through capcom's mind when not localizing this.
The team that would've been responsible for the Localization was splintered to work on other games. And they never got back together in time to get around to doing it.
I can't even begin to go into the issues concerning how the game would be ported, seeing as how this game like its' predecessor were made for the DS. And hardly anybody uses 2DS's now. It's a dead market. They'd further put themselves into some kind of financial gutter trying to re-market the Investigations Series for an entirely different gaming system.
1aundulxaldin
there porting the orginal triolgy for 3DS and 2DS (I aggre 2DS is a dead market though) through the eshop, maybe they could loclaise this game and port it with investagoins 1 on the eshop aswell

M Night Shyamalan making Ace Attorney games.
WHAT A TWIST!
1:58 I just love this moment, one of the best twists in the entire saga.
Awww man... Sebastian really got on my nerves but now I feel so bad for him...
He only had such an inflated ego because of his father... Poor chap...
Siggggggghhh
He may be an asshole, but his father was the bigger asshole. I suppose you could say his father’s made his assholiness contagious.
I still hate him, but it makes so much sense, that now I hate his dad even more.
Bastard really got his son's hopes up because he coerced all the people around him to prop him up only to crush it right there and then,
Man really was Ghetsis 2.0.
I really loved this case. First of all, Mr DeBeste's dad is an asshole. Second, I was surprised to see Edgeworth like that. He sacrificed his badge to save a friend... I thought that was really touching. And it was kickass that almost everyone(Except Sebastian) was on your side. But what I loved the most was the Edgeworth/Kay moments. He really did a lot to prove her innocence. :,)
I also... want to know the truth.
Mr. Edgeworth... Please tell me!

"Even I feel sorry for that foolish prosecutor!" --Franziska von Karma
The most endearing thing I've read all year.
I kinda started crying when Blaise told Sebastian the truth about the school. Yeah I hate him but he doesn't deserve that much cruelty. Also that sounds realllllyyyy familiar. Case 5-3 probably...
10:16 Uuuh, Franziska... Wow. I am so proud of her. She definitely has grown since AA games...
Freeze-Frame 10:30
That's the most fearless and scariest duo in Ace Attorney right there! I pity anyone at the end of their wrath and respect anyone bold enough to challenge them.
Incidentally at (Freeze-Frame) 28:00, they make the cutest duo.
They look like they’re about to clobber him
Courtroom abuse gang, come together to brutally maul the protagonist
Manfred Von Karma is missing from that line-up
Absolute power duo
10:26 That appears to be Franziska's subtle rejection of her father's actions.
Oh my god, poor Sebastian. He's only 17! This poor kid...
7-7
So Justine was only pretending to be a jerk to Edgeworth, to catch Blaise off-guard and expose the truth. I gues it's true: If you can fool your enemies, you can fool your friends too.
Also:
???: Kay, you had forgotten me.
Kay: How could I? I don't know who you are.
???: You had forgotten who you are, as such, you have forgotten about me.
Kay: I can't...
???: Remember who you are, my daughter. You are Kay Faraday, the second Yatagarasu...
The lighter technology in the Phoenix Wright universe is ridiculous. Transforming into guns and becoming miniature volcanoes....I wonder what's next?

hmm not sure is subtle pokemon reference or just coincidence
well Ray did make a portal reference so...
And I take it that to catch defendants was his real test and to train them was his cause, yes?
Woah, Blaise was even able to manipulate Manfred von Karma.
So, if Von Karma hadn't gotten his first penalty, then he wouldn't have wanted to kill Gregory probably. So does that mean that Blaise is kind of responsible for the death of Edgeworth's dad?
He's one of the people connected to the Main. Characters along with the chef from the inherited turnabout. The chef that committed the real murder. If he hadn't committed murder. Gregory edgeworth wouldn't be connected to the case against. Manfred Von karma. As we all know manfred Von karma got a penalty because of Gregory and debeste. If Blaise didn't give him that penalty manfred wouldn't have gotten so butt hurt and commit murder. That murder then basically involved all the main characters in the first game and future characters actually. Manfred Von karma murdere was known as the dl-6 case. The police then got misty fey to channel Gregory's spirit. As we know the person that Gregory accused was found innocent. Then word got out because of redd white. Then misty fey left. Never to be found again until trials and tribulations. Misty feys daughter Mia fey became an attorney because of this. Know edgeworth. If the murder hadn't been committed edgeworth wouldn't have become a prosecutor
+Yolecake but an attorney instead. Which would make Phoenix not become an attorney. Because he wanted to become an attorney to save miles edgeworth from the prosecutors path. Then all those people he defended would have been found guilty. Besides engrade. He would be innocent and Andrews would be guilty. Which is bad. Apollo and Athena would have probably never came to be the way they are now. Because Phoenix didn't become a lawyer. Apollo would be unemployed and Phoenix wouldn't go to Europe and find Athena. I'm pretty sure Phoenix would be in jail. Cause Mia didn't become a lawyer and defend Phoenix. And maya would be in jail. Also Godot would probably wouldn't be in jail. Because mia wasn't an attorney. So Godot a.k.a. Diego Armando wouldn't be with Mia in the case and question dahlia who would poison him wouldn't need to because he didn't question her. Thus the events of bridge to the turnabout wouldn't happen. Because Godot wouldn't kill misty fey who was channeling dahlia because
+Yolecake she didn't ruin diego's life. Of course a lot more things would happen but I'm not saying them all. No. So if that chef hadn't committed murder and Blaise giving manfred a penalty all these things would have never happened
@@yolecake2922 as a revise basically phoenix would still be a lawyer as he wanted to protect others and wouldnprobably work with edgeworth due to connections. He would be heavily unrelated to dahlia since she never would have had any contact with her. And REDD would still blackmail people.
Holy shit Franziska's little spiel about accepting their father's mistakes.... Really hit me in the feels
! That transceiver, thats de Killer's transceiver he used to contact Wright!
Fran looks so horrified at the idea that her papa fabricated evidence. I guess she never knew what kinda man he was. True, he didn't fabricate the evidence in the IS-7, but he did fabricate evidence in other cases. Also, every time she talks about her father, I die a little inside because it just comes off as so depressing.
I still think it's utterly adorable how she calls him "Papa" and not "Father".

Wow, this part alone made me change my mind about Justine and Sebastian as well as confirm Franziska's and Edgeworth's concern for Kay (makes me warm inside :3)
But to compare to another AA game, SPOILERS FOR SPIRIT OF JUSTICE
Justine's whole 'being a jerk is just an act to allow me to infiltrate to accomplish my goals' was done MUCH better than Nahyuta's, as I can tell because I felt next to no sympathy for Nahyuta, as his act as a jerk towards everyone was NOT required to complete his goals and appear loyal to Gar'an. Meanwhile here, Justine turned around entirely, and this time I accepted it better (in the next case, this gets explored _even_ more) because she had to directly attack Edgeworth to prove her 'loyalty'. Nahyuta didn't have to do anything of the sort.
39:48
Its not everyday you get to see a picture of Miles facing directly into the camera, with a gentle smile
Miles has developed so beautifully, I love him
Sebastian went to Themis Legal Academy, given his uniform.
And Blaise bribed the teachers there.
One wonders.... how long and how widespread the corruption and underhandeded deals were among that school's staff up until the events of *Turnabout Academy.*
But chances are that Means never had any involvement; I mean he was teacher for the Defense Course, while Sebastian was part of the Prosecutor's course.
Plus Blaise is way, way older than him
That is an impressive foreshadowing to dual destinies
This case was so exciting and moving, all the best characters in one episode, and Miles... he's just amazing
My goodness, Blaise's lighter is literally the best in the world. It can even have volcanic explosions!
It's just so epic, when Justine accuses Blaise, the pursuit theme plays and Justine is now officially on "our side". Loved that part.
40:02 Somehow that gives some feels
29:20
I KNEW IT
SEBASTIAN IS SMART
YOU JUST HAVE TO FIND A WAY TO PRY IT OUT OF HIM
2:10 Edgeworth's reaction, priceless

@@KatTheLavaGirl makes sense considering how much BS she did to himXD
39:48 Such a sweet moment! So weird to see Edgy with such a soft expression!
nah it was just wierd, why does he look like that?
Man Courtney looks weird with her Sprite flipped
ikr
i agree
When I saw Miles at the defense attorney's bench in "Bridge to the turnabout", I thought the same thing.
Aaaaaaand the Father of the Yeat goes to *drumroll* Blaise whatever the heck your name is, for calling your son an idiot, flunking all of his tests for him, and in the end, disowning him. You must feel so good for all of your achievements huh?
Actually... Sebastion failed all the tests himself, if it wasn't apparent. Blaise actually bribed thm up, so he could have his idiot son, to be a total cat's paw. He only got rid of Sbastion here, because inevitably he would have blundered.
and you have to admit, he IS an idiot, fankly.... It's part of his character, a smug, overconfident buffoon, who makes GUMSHOE look hypercompetent!
corjonbett Yeah but still. No matter how much of an incompetent, foolish idiot he is, no matter how many times his claims had little to no evidence to back it and everything else that I can't be bothered to discuss, no one deserves something like that.
No, he doesn't deserve it. He is a good person, just not a smart person.
It's truly a shame, but people like Sebastian, whose ego is falsely inflated, have the farthest to fall. It's just sad that the man who popped his bubble had to be the man who pumped it up for his own purposes.
corjonbett All the more reason why he deserves to be announced Father of the Year
lets punch Blaise the M!@#F!@#!
24:52 of this entire dialogue is such a gut punch 🥊 poor baby 🥺
10:26 franziska showing a bit of empathy for Sebastian for having a shitty dad who you idolized for most of your life before being informed of their crimes.
That Courtney face-turn! Gave me goosebumps!
Hello, fellow troper.
26:38 even before we officially meet her adoptive son she’s really has such mom energy
This man be like “I have no idea where the burn mark could’ve come from” while swinging a lighter he ignited back and forth...
9:50- Did...Did Sebastian just make a Pokémon reference? 🤔😐😑
Yeeep LOL
Sure did.
When Courtney indicted Mr. Blaziken, I screamed and my cousin stared at me.
I knew at that moment he was silently Judging my actions...
9:49 I WANNA BE, THE VERY BEST, LIKE NO ONE EVER WAAAS. TO CATCH THEM IS MY REAL TEST, TO TRAIN THEM IS MY CAAAAUSE
gotta catch em all!
pika pika!!(? xD
Poor little Sebastion, he's easily one of my favorite characters in the series.
Also, it's probably obvious, but, based on some of his remarks in his cross-examination, I'm confidant that Blaze abused the fuck out of his wife/Sebastian's mother. I bet she tried to leave him and that's when he decided she had to "disappear."
after reading this case, courtney is one of my favorite characters
I have a feeling that Sebastian's teacher was probably Aristotle Means. That explains so much.
Well he's the obvious choice. He takes bribes. And Blaise bribed Sebastian's teacher.
Nah, I don't think so. Means was crooked enough, but he taught the defense attorney course.
Notice the color of Sebastian's uniform. In Dual Destinies, those becoming prosecutors wear red, while those becoming attorneys wear blue. Do you think Sebastian had taken the wrong course?
+William Bird Actually according to a guide book from Dual Destinies, the prosecutors uniform was blue when Sebastian studied there, and it was changed to red
Oh, that's interesting. Thanks for the information! I wonder just why they decided to do that.
So Blaise just kept casually threatening everyone who opposed him in front of the rest of the P.I.C and no one raised an eyebrow to that?
2:05 this is the best moment of the case, Justine Courtney just pulls an uno reverse on Blaise and finally gives us a chance. SHE FINALLY REDEEMED HERSELF!
Courtney and Franziska would do a great team!
This was the most sick ending I've ever heard from a ace attorney investigations case.
9:50
I guess catching him is Edgeworth's real test.
To try him is his cause.
Blaise Debeste is arguably "the best" villain in the Ace Attorney series.
And "the absolutely worst" father figure
Thanks ZSlyzer as always
Hearing Kay's Theme again~
Hm~Hm~ So good~
0:54 "The best criminals would never do something like that, y'see."
Don't you mean..... *Debeste* criminals? Cuz I really think you do.
I don't know what I hate more; the fact that Blaise Debeste exists as a fictional character and has basically incurred the wrath of Asura or the fact that people like Blaise Debeste exist in real life.
And it's at this moment... amazingly, you actually feel SORRY for Manfred von Karma! He was innocent all along, of his first penalty, the thing that drove him to commit murder.... AMAZING...!
Just because of this guy's greediness
corjonbett Manfred may not have ordered that autopsy report forged, but he KNEW that it was forged (obviously, since there was no body to autopsy) and he used it anyway. That makes him just as guilty as Blaise.
I gathered that, although von Karma would use falsified evidence, he did not know THIS one was forged.
Actually the forged evidence that resulted in his penalty wasn't even the fake autopsy report, it was the forced confession gotten from interrogating Jeff Master that Badd recorded
He was fooled in regards to the body and it's not clear if he knew about the autopsy report being fake but the forced confession was all on him
On the verge of tears. 39:47
9:50 Is that a pokemon reference?
10:30 Two weapons presented like that...it must be scary.
25:50 You jerk!
9:47. Hmm... well, Edgeworth, looks like catching him is your real test; to training him is your cause, though, only if you want it to be.
9:50 the translation team managed to put a pokemon reference there X)
34:49 that seems to be a running theme in ace attorney in the mainline games as well as the spin-offs
21:29 this might be the moment where Sebastian finally catches on since he lives with Blaise he would know what his pops looks like without a Beard 🧔 and knows that his pops has a burn 🔥 on his face
9:50....ok debeste...il admit your pokemon reference was clever -w-
"Awww... Even my son has disappeared..." Can I strangle him with his own fake beard?
THE GOGGLES DO NOTHING!!!!!!
Haha Simpsons reference
Other than filled up with his tears.
God dammit, I knew about the Edgeworth giving you a clown university diploma meme before I played this game but I didn't know it was from here. It's supposed to be a really emotional scene but I burst out laughing and I feel bad about it
I predicted that Blaise's beard would go up in a blaze during his breakdown, but I honestly did NOT think he could possibly get any uglier!
2:00 Best part in the game. You can't change my mind.
(Also sorry if this comes off as a spoiler to people who read comments first x3; But I have to say it! Sebastian did not deserve that!)
Gosh, Sebastian was a fool mostly in my opinion seeing him so far with him being slow. But it's true he did try his hardest and still to be put down like that by his own father... He even is the first to know what is wrong but loves his father so he tries to protect him. The instant I saw him running away crying I felt so extremely sorry for him. I'm glad that justice was given to that heartless jerk. And I hope he's gonna be alright! Not even a fool deserves that cruelty D=. Someone find Sebastian stat!!! so I can give him a hug!!!!
But also to point out..This is the second time a bad father was in a case. What's with this game having cruel fathers..? ;=;
I loved his "the goggles they do nothing!"
So why did Debeste pass the buck on the missing body to von Karma? To protect himself?
2:02 When I played the game and saw what Courtney said there, I went like whoa! hold on! stop everything! Did she just say that? O_O
Yup, just like that. I did notice though how she seemed to be helping Edgeworth in a subtle way, but I wasn't sure about why was that.
A really amazing game indeed :)
only an ace attorney game can make you despise a character one minute and then adore them the next...
39:53 Finally found the origin of the meme.
9:50 Pokémon reference, also poor Sebastian 😢 he believes in his pop’s even though his pop never had any faith in him
I used to hate Sebastian up until this. Now I want to cry for him. I'm glad I have a good dad.
30:34 the time was 9:44 P.M, but then on 47:28 the time is 9:53 A.M
2:10 Justine saves the day!
23:20 this scene has no right to kick in so powerfully help my heart can't handle it
Umm... for a prosecutor to give a plea bargain on the table if the defendant confesses, and then reneges, is both malpractice and malfeasance. And saying this openly in front of, you know... the Prosecutorial Investigation Committee, would result in swift permanent disbarment and a review of all the cases he's ever handled...
40:54 YES!!!!! AND WHEN THE MUSIC COMES IN!!!! YEAH!!!!!
