I have seen so many interpretations of this majestic work that without a doubt this is the best and brightest interpretation, I adore the soloist. incredible woman!!!

And here I am 3 years later saying that I don't just appreciate these ladies doing serious music. It positively brings tears to my eyes. I don't know why. Seeing this Asian (I prefer oriental) lady run the show, it is a freaking dream come true.

Love the passion, the aggression! This isn't a genteel piece. Also love the longer pauses between some of the sections, they're perfect, they build anticipation. Gle mhath!

@Oussama Attia She is a true virtuoso and is playing with great passion. If I had the least talent to play this well, this musical piece would inspire in me an irresistible need to dance and that's exactly what I see her doing. Her performance has done anything BUT ruined it for me.
This is my favorite ensemble recording of Corelli's La Follia. So energetic and expressive! I just wish I could find the recording on a CD. If you enjoy this recording, I also highly recommend the violin-harpsichord duet version recorded by Andrew Manze and Richard Egarr.

La Folia (also called Follia or Follie) is a spanish traditional music versioned with the name Follia di Spagna or Follie d'Espagne, by many composers as Vivaldi, Lully, Bach or this Corelli. The autor of video forgot to put that the correct name of piece is "Follia di Spagna Sonata nº 12 in D Minor".
Can you point out the name of a Spanish composer who composed a version of this beautiful music? Almost all of them were Italians. I read elsewhere that the word folia means folly in Italian. Whoever owns the ancestry of this music it is one of the finest pieces of music I have ever heard!

I liked it at first, but after watching it again, not so much. It was a bit self-indulgent.
I prefer Chiara Morandi's La Follia. She plays impassioned and perfect - in my opinion.
