This has always troubled me at work. Of course to prevent the maxi spring from escaping the chamber band clamp is crimped rather than bolted on. However OSHA regulations want us to disarm the spring before disposing of the chamber by cutting the band clamp in a drum with a slot for a cutting torch. We have no such disarming chamber nor will we after I alerted them to this.
One time I had to change the diaphragm on an old truck spring brake chamber. I was lazy and reached down from the top with the air rachet and I got the nut off. I went under and looked up. I took the nut off the spring side. I slowly put the nut back on and tightened. Wow such a close call.
NOOOO! you cut a hole in the side of the chamber just big enough and in the right spot that you can safely cut the coils of the spring. Cutting the clamp will cause exciting things to happen
What's with that first accident? The track comes loose, and the guy steps off to the side (even though he was out of the way), then turns around and runs in front of it. He then ends with a dive to the ground even despite the fact it's not even long enough to reach him. lol
That track was no were near that first guy !
Bubs... If A Man Was There Hed Be Very Hurt. Its For Example.
I'm sure that despite having not read the manual, Sam is well acquainted with the 'insertion of a threaded tool'.
Bill Meyers won't be shaking hands with danger with that hand no more! XD

Yea leave the clamp on, find the center of the tin and the spring and cut with a torch

That first dude was full of shit😂you never go infront of a moving track😂
Well the accident was that the oil was hot, so you should wait for the engine to cool down before opening the cap.
5:10 AHHHHH!!!!!!!
How are you supposed to unscrew the oil cap? It doesn't seem like you can unscrew it without putting your hand in harm's way.
I love this video! :D
