@@theidajawho Hahaha! yeah, really Good 'un Don't know why, but it makes me think of a woman named Minnie ( something ) that coined ""When the Levee Breaks." 1919 or there about.

The vocal percussionist, Adam Rppp, he is making the harmonica and ther sounds just from my mouth. No mouth harp. All Adam. I'm sure his wife is very...happy. :)
I've listened to Pentatonix, Voiceplay, ect and they are all incredible at what they do but if you were to listen to each group without knowing that they were Acapella you would figure out fairly quickly they are Acapella. Home Free on the other hand baffles people that it's actually Acapella. They actually sound like a whole band. My goodness those boys are incredible. I've seen the rest and now I''ve seen the Best again. Good job Black Pegasus! Bring us more Home Free, they have many that will astound you and Mr. Kalico.
THE GREATEST A-CAPPELLA GROUP TODAY!🥰🔥🎶 YOU MUST check out their Christmas arrangements!! Mary Did You zuknöpfen…Do You Hear What I Hear… ANY of them!! 😂 Flawless
It's that time of year to do a reaction to a song written by their bass singer (Tim Foust), "Full of Cheer"; BUT... you need to see the precursor to "Full of Cheer" (also written by the bass singer), "Champagne Taste (On A Beer Budget)".
The song was originally written in 1913 and later covered by Bob Dylan & Joan Baez among others. Three of the men in Home Free are song writers, so there are lots of originals as well as 'up-grades' (covers). BTW, each of them also has channel(s) of their own. Although they're nominally country, they sing (and write) in almost every genre.
The mouth instrument that you were referring to is called the juice harp or at least that's what we called it. These people however are not using any instruments other than their voice.
Another Home Fry here, I got to see them live, too!! Awesomeness! Do You Hear What I Hear is one of their best, and a Christmas song as well! If you haven't heard the Butt Remix, though, you don't understand what you are missing out on!
This song is over 100 years old but was made popular in the movie. Love these boys. All super talented. The beatboxer was doing drums, harmonica and other sounds. Chance, back left was doing the “mouth harp” sound. Tim, bass, has a 5 octave range so he can sing super low but then sing up with the tenors. Three of them are also songwriters. Good reaction! Hope you listen to more of their songs. End of the Road, Blue Ain’t Your Color, Listen to the Music, Helplessly Hoping.
Just pure awesomeness!! You HAVE to check out their Christmas tracks! I recommend you start with “O’ Holy Night” & “ Do You Hear What I Hear?”. You will not be disappointed and will definitely want to add them to your Christmas playlist🎅🌲
Home Fry right here. 🍟 When I finally got into country music, by way of Johnny Cash, it prepped me for the excellence of Home Free. This was the first song I ever heard by them, which is true for a lot of people. Guy in front, awesome high tenor Austin Brown, is no longer with the group, having left to start a family. The guys have carried on, as groups do, and con’t to release incredible music.
Not 'juice', JEWS harp, because it looks like a harp David would have played when he wrote the Psalms. These days, to avoid any cultural booby traps, it's called a mouth harp or jaw harp. It's made of metal (no rubber bands) and has been used in bluegrass and western songs for over a century. There are tutorials on TH-cam on playing it.
PTX & Home Free are so amazing! Next you need to check out some Voiceplay! They are known to be the "theatre kids" of acapella. You won't be disappointed!
Yay! You introduced Krizz to Home Free! Great rabbit hole to explore! Recommend The Sea Shanty Medley. I have a 4th a capella group for you two to check out: The Bass Gang. Four bassists with incredible ranges. Calling Valhalla featuring Big Brev is my current favorite. (But this one has some instrumentation.)
A capella has been around for hundreds, if not thousands of years. There was a group from the United Kingdom named, 'The Flying Pickets', who were the forerunners of the newer a capella groups. They are amazing ! Please check out their music which is on You Tube.
Part 1 Chris & Adam Rupp (MN) were founders of group which started in high school Group had auditioned 2xs for 'Sing Off' & been rejected After last time during break to audition 3rd time, had lost 2 members Brought in Austin from GA (tenor) & Tim from TX (bass) as replacements. I saw Home Free live and it's ridiculous how much better they are live!! I was right against the stage and Tim rocked me straight up off the speaker that I was leaning against. ❤😂
Their early work started on the sing off. chance was with another group in that competition that lost... both home free and pentatonix were winners in their respective years. first one I heard was their first vesion of champaign on a beer budget great stuff
Home Free was making all those sounds with their voices, including the harmonica. They aren't the first though. The Mills Brothers were doing instruments with their voices way back in the early 1930s. They were actually billed as "Four Boys with a Guitar" and the record labels stated that the only instrument on the songs was a guitar. They did all the horns and bass with their voices. They were popular right on into the 1970s. One of the brothers died way back and was replaced with their father. BTW, they are a black group and sold millions of records.
I’m 69 years old and white and my mom introduced me to listening to the Mills Brothers but she never told me about them doing all the background music with their voice s. That’s cool! I’m gonna have to go back and listen to them again now!

Now it's time for some VoicePlay!!! They are the third member of the Acapella Triumvirate, the theater kids. Queen in 5 Minutes, Boy Bands in 5 Minutes, they have several Nightmare Before Christmas covers, a new Christmas song drops today. Check 'em out! Keep on keepin' on, guys!
And if I'm not mistaken, they were on the same season of sing-off as home free. Think HF may have eliminated them too. They are all still close friends, and they all get along with PTX.
@Qmocean Yes they were on the same season as Home Free. I know VP and HF have collaborated by sharing arrangements and the Hillbillies vs. Zombies video.
The capability of excellence by each of the individuals in this group is off the charts awesome that allows them the flexibility to do so many types of vocalizations and to do it exceptionally well. I have not found a genre they are afraid to tackle whether individually or as a group they are amazing. They bring about an excitement intrigue wondering what they will produce for us today, near future and the years to come. They are not bound by a particular genre and whatever they produce you know it is going to be quality. Home Free produces at a high level of integrity and always amazing the interpretation both vocally and visually with their video presentation. Every individual in their vocal group is significant top-notch performer and each draws out the very best in each other. I always look with anticipation to their next release. Thank you Home Free!!! Very nice reaction!!!! ❣
You are in for a treat with their Christmas music!!!! React to the older ones first! They do traditional and originals! However, they did just release a new one with their new singer "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and it is hilarious! Home Fry for life!🤠
@ It’s Chance… you can see it in the video near the end where he is mouthing to match the sound. PLUS… it’s been mentioned that he used the Mongolian throat singing technique to do it. He has stated that he can’t do it continually as it hurts his throat. It’s done on the looper.
These groups were on a TV show called "Sing Off" and I am sorry I missed it, but there are clips on TH-cam where you can see them when they were much younger.
Seen home free in concert 4 times now. They are amazing live. And they are very nice and funny. Highly recommend going and seeing them in concert at least once.
I'm a few days late but I went back and watched your original reaction, and I have to say, you guys talking about all the electronic sounds-you MUST listen to Home Free's Adam Rupp Beatboxing Solos. You've spoken about how the human body can replicate such intricate and incredible sounds, and Adam Rupp has some of the most insane range I've ever heard. I have had the massive privilege of seeing Home Free live three times, and each time he performed his drum solos, it absolutely shook the building. I would also like to suggest that you give the "Butts Remix" a try, just to get a good look at their incredible versatility and sense of humor! You've got such a fun channel, I'll be keeping an eye here! Hope you guys are having a great day!
Man, Krizz just guessing you got it Bruh!!! Mouth harp and here in my house you got a verbal round if dingdingdings!!! LOL Homefree is amazing you should check out Elvira! 😁
Man of Constant Sorrow, is an American folk classic. It was written in the the 1800s, so like most folk classic from that far back we do not know the originators, only who published.
Since it is Christmas time might react to Home Free’s original Christmas song, Snow Globe. Really awesome Christmas song written by Home Free’s Bass Singer, Tim Foust. You also get to hear Tim sing in the higher part of his 5 octave range in this song.
Pentatonix is fabulous and I love seeing people new to them get Mitch slapped. I love it when people first listen to this tune with Home Free and can't believe Adam Rupp is actually not playing a harmonica, but making those sounds with his voice. To round out the Accapella experience you have to check out Voice Play. Lane is fabulous, and Geoff Castellucci is a bass that often makes folks swoon. My dream collaborators are Tim Foust, Avi Kaplan, and Geoff Castellucci. Just....Yum.
Probably hard for some to believe but they're even better live!! They have a huge catalog of awesome music 🎶 so it's a deep rabbit hole to go down but worth it. Listen to the Music i(Doobie Brothers Cover) is one of my favorites ❤
If you catch the live version, you can watch Adam Rupp setup the loops live for some of the sounds. The best live version is a mash up of this song with Folsom Prison Blues
Part 2 Home Free has been around now around 15-20 years. They have what's termed the vault (recordings of songs did on circuits with Chris Rupp before winning The Sing Off) and after. When Chris Rupp they have Chance recording too. I have a lot of favorites but many most likely presented to you. One stands out 2015, they were featured on Kenny Rogers' final album Once Again It's Christmas, performing "Children, Go Where I Send Thee" with Rogers. If watch do the live video. Comedy? The Butt Remix Country Ring of Fire [One of winning competition songs] Elvira Folsom Prison Blues Motown ish? Blue Ain't Your Color (Love the choreography) Thinking Out Loud / Let's Get It On (Ed Sheeran and Marvin Gaye) (Like the staging) Christmas Can you hear what I hear How Great Thou Art Snowbalk
Home free is #1, Voiceplay #2 Pentatonix #3. I have been to 2 Home Free concerts. They are so much fun more like a big party. The September Lancaster Pa concert was minus Rob who was stuck in a Motel 6 with Covid, but they were able to put together a great show thanks to their voices being recorded separately and one of the crew looking a lot like Rob coming out and lipsyncing Rob and He can whistle as well as Rob does. Outstanding fun concert. Krizz wilcome down the Home Free rabbit hole.

I love that u introduced him to Home Free! I almost prefer them over Pentatonix! I hope he continues down this rabbithole on his channel!
Aha this was great to watch! Keep these reactions coming!!
If you catch the live version, you can watch Adam Rupp setup the loops live for some of the sounds. The best live version is a mash up of this song with Folsom Prison Blues
Part 2
Home Free has been around now around 15-20 years.

#HomeFree is the best❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
When I first heard of Home Free it was this song love it, another one is them with the Oak Ridge Boys singing Elvira.
The track from the movie was done by members of Union Station ( Allison Krause)
