    Can you please list the Brand names of the colors that your adding to your base white color? I see you had a few different types and brands of dense colors. I’d really love to see the brands of the pink, yellow and the rest. Thank you.

      Hi, I know this is a very late reply, but yes, you can. I always use cooking spray as a glue for ganache..

    Hello!what cooking spray did you use to make it tacky?

    • @ItsAPieceOfCake
      @ItsAPieceOfCake  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi I use any non stick cooking spray I have and it has always worked...you can even rub some oil if you dont have the spray either way works just fine..with the spray its just easier and quicker...

      @@ItsAPieceOfCake could I add the dust without the spray

  • @FaithRoss2817
    @FaithRoss2817 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I thought you had to mix the dust with alcohol??? Here I see your not. I tried just straight powder dust once and it wouldn't take at all. Any suggestions on why mine didn't work???

    • @ItsAPieceOfCake
      @ItsAPieceOfCake  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Melanie, you have to have a "tacky-wet" surface for the dust to work...so I spray them lightly with cooking spray and that pretty much becomes the glue....dust by itself will never work....

    Hi! What colors would you combine to make a tiffany blue? please respond. I have a party to do this weekend. Thank you

    • @ItsAPieceOfCake
      @ItsAPieceOfCake  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tamara, it depends you can just colour your chocolate it will be easier than painting each one. I painted these just to show the different shades if I was to do 1 colour id just colour the chocolate, that will also insure all your cake pops are the same colour. If you decide to colour your chocolate then you can just use blue powder and use a very little bit. When you melt chocolate its not white its more like a very light yellow so when you add blue powder to the chocolate it turns to more like a teal...obviously yellow and blue gives you green. if you added to much blue then just add some yellow powder. BUT very important note to remember is when the chocolate is melted its always lighter than when it sets up in the fridge. It goes a few shades darker. So make one cake pop place it in the fridge for 10 mins let you fully set up and then judge the colour.
      If you want to paint them individually then you add with your plain pearl shimmer dust blue and yellow powder.

    Awesome! Thank you for your tutorial! I have to do rosegold cake pops and i will use your dry method because when I paint wiht rose gold it sort of leans more towards bronze/copper, so i was pretty worried! thank you!

    Did the cooking spray affect the taste of the cake pop?
    What kind of cooking spray did you use?
    Does the luster dust affect the taste?

    • @ItsAPieceOfCake
      @ItsAPieceOfCake  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Nichole, the cooking spray doesn't affect it at all. You dont need much at all. The luster dusts I've used so many brands and none of them has a flavour at all...

    • @ItsAPieceOfCake
      @ItsAPieceOfCake  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      the cooking spray you can use any brand. I've used whatever I've had on hand and it makes no difference...

    Awesome job. Thank you for this video.
    I have made cake pops today after watching your vidoes, but when i melted my chocolate its not as runny as the one you made. I'm using Nestle Melts (coating & decorating). Am I using the right chocolate? I found compound cooking chocolate but its not Nestle/melts brand.
    thank you

    • @ItsAPieceOfCake
      @ItsAPieceOfCake  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      hi Neelab you are defiantly using the right chocolate. but I think your melting it wrong...try this
      Put some of the nestle melts in a bowl (say about a cup) then put in the microwave for 30 seconds then take it out and either with a whisk,fork or spoon stir it really well for 10 seconds (this is the most important part without stirring it heavily the chocolate won't melt properly...) then repeat the process another 2 times and your chocolate should be really smooth. Maybe on the last session in the microwave you might only need 15 seconds (every microwave heats differently...).
      the thing with chocolate is if you heat it on too high or for too long it seizes so its like a lumpy thick pasty clump.. but if you do it gently and slowly and stir the chocolate in between to melt evenly. Once you have heated the chocolate too high or for too long you will never be able to get a runny consistency...unless you add melted shortening....but just melt it slowly and make sure you ALWAYS stirring in between...

    • @ItsAPieceOfCake
      @ItsAPieceOfCake  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes you can but it won't show that much..you should try with the spray and without you will see the difference...the spray drys out and there is not texture or taste...
