I've seen these made where you can invert them, so as they dry they develop a point at the top of the pop from the dripping chocolate. Any idea where I can get my hands on the form they used to hold the pops upside down?
Lima you have no idea how you have helped me, i didnt know why cake pop crack until i saw a video of your Also i did these rainbow effect for my grand daughter first birthday and let me tell you it was a success!!
I've tried this several.times but I always end up with the colors just blending into one as it runs off the pop...maybe my chocolate is too warm??? How do you get the design to stay put???
It's called styrofoam and you can purchase it in the "arts and crafts" or "school supplies" section of your local super market. You could also purchase it at Michael's or any arts and crafts store.
OMG thank you so much! this is one of my favourite comments :) i honestly LOVE making these cake pops...every single one looks so amazing and its so easy :P please do try it and if you do pleassssee tag me on instagram (if you have it..) :D :D either way let me know how you go :) and again thank you so much!
These look very delicious!! Great job! Will have to try this sometime. (Just be careful of your nail polish when using your hands in cake mix. Same with people who bake bread.) How creative!
I have had a problem with my cakes leaking so I always do two layers of chocolate to seal them.. Not sure how that would work with the swirling pattern.. And I use ganache to bind
Hoping for the best! I'm getting ready next week (for the first time) in making cake pops for my 3 year old grandson's birthday. These are really a big item at birthdays here in El Paso, Texas and can be a bit costly if you order them. I want to make white & blue swirl pops & maybe try a couple of blue shimmer/gems pops in the bunch. But of course, we'll still be ordering a cake so if they don't turn out I'll be safe! Wish me luck...
Hi Mark if you watch ALL of my cake pop videos like I'm talking every single one of them then I'm confident you will be fine. What I defiantly recommend is make them atleast 3 days in advance (dont worry once your cake pops are dipped into the chocolate air won't go in which means your cake pops won't be dry...) when you make them in advance you will have less pressure on yourself and will have time if things go wrong...keep me updated on how you go...best of luck!
I've been watching your videos & they are great! I was actually wondering about how long in advance I should make them but mine will be a bit different as I'll be using one of those cake pop maker machines instead of rolling the mixture into balls. They will be more of cupcake consistency so I think maybe 2-days ahead of time & keep them sealed out of the air? Have you ever used one of those cake pop maker appliances? I’ll let you know how they turn out. Thanks, Mark
In that case yes then 2 days should be fine and yes airtight contanier maybe also drizzle them with a little simple syrup...No Mark can you believe I have never used one! I used to have a small business from home and would make cakes, cupcakes, macarons, cake pops (if you click on the instagram link on my cover it will take you to my page and you can see my work...) but I found rolling cake pop balls from a cake was just sooooo simple and everyone LOVED them so I never thought of doing it any other way...but please let me know how it goes with the cake pop makers...thanks :) :)
Just checked out your Instagram page & must say "wow"...your work is so fantastic and so professionally done! I really liked the thing you did with the walking dead. What great imagination!
thank you so much Mark really appreciate it :) yeah i love baking and creating and only quitted orders because wanted to be able to spend more time with my 2 little children...thats why i started youtube so I still can enjoy my hobby (at my time...) and share everything I had learnt....hahahhaha yeah the walking dead cake pops is actually one of my personal favourite videos really really enjoyed that...thank you again!
Absolutely love your videos! I found when I made mine the chocolate just ran off my cake pop even though I tapped it off so my cake underneath started to show! Do you have any tips to prevent this?!
thank you so much! so thrilled your enjoying them :) theres only one way to fix that... So first dip your cake pops in plain white chocolate let them set once chocolate has fully firmed then dip them again. Professionals (many that I personally know) always double dip them because it makes the cake pops look very round...I personally don't...but in your case because you can see your cake then this would be the only way...OR you can try a different brand of chocolate. All chocolates melt at different thickness (more vegetable oil then melts very runny/more chocolate then bit thicker...). If you are from Australia then get nestle melts compound chocolate...that melts absolutely perfect. Its runny enough to comfortably dip the cake pops but thick enough to hide a dark chocolate cake...hope this helps :) :) :)
When you insert the cake pop stick make sure you have plenty of chocolate on it and insert it about half way through your cake pop then leave in refrigerator for a good 7 mins to make sure the chocolate has set in the cake pop then no matter how much you twist it won't fall apart...if you watch all my cake pop videos you will understand how i make them....
Hi there! When you add the butter to your cake, does that ever create dripping down your sticks? I'm having an issue with oil dripping down mine after a while.
hi yes food colour powder can be purchased online...but most cake decorating shops have them...americolour have a good range but my favourite powders are robert confectionery..
my white chocolate doesn't melt that well. it gets liquidy but not enough to dip the cake pops. do you suggest adding a little bit of oil to the chocolate? reply asap pls I have to make these within a few hours
ask at your cake decorating shop for OIL BASED FOOD COLOUR POWDER. yes it will work with any white chocolate. that is specially made for colouring chocolate. You can also get oil based food colour in gel but I hate it. I find with the gel you will have to use either vegetable oil or melted vegetable shortening to thin in out and then the chocolate tastes to oily...so powder in the magic in colouring chocolate :)
yes Pamela it is 😂 I love those mud cakes! ohhh so much fun christmas colours! I love that idea! I might make a video with cake pops with christmas theme 😆
When I make mine i make them atleast a couple days before and i leave them in a cupcake box. i do not put them back in the fridge. Your cake will not dry out because the chocolate coating blocks out any air. If you place them in fridge they might sweat so you will have this water leak on the chocolate...
Wow, you're great. And because your Aussie helps me big time to know that we can get the items here and not fall in love to find you can't get all the things down under. This looks like fun and looks like something I am going to try. And I am sure with practice and playing around I too can learn to do this. Thank you so much. :)
my pleasure :) Im from Australia so I have no idea which on might store it. But instead of having to go down and search for them just call them and ask is they stock oil based food colour powder and if yes then tell them to pop it aside for you...if you can't find it let me know and ill search online to see where you can get it...if they do have it let me know how you go :)
I used the nestle melts and put some Wilton white in it with some canola oil. Massive fail. Also used merkins pink and blue and also didn't go thin. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Do u melt in microwave? Pls help. Thanks 😊
hey Angie, you've been a roll today lol I've just answered all this in your other question... and p.s dont ever mix 2 different brands of chocolate thats asking for a disaster LOL (they melt differently...), just keep practising (following the steps I've answered in your other question...) and just keep practising with one brand till you get the hang of melting then you can experiment with other brands. And for me nothing is easier than nestle melts. for a compound chocolate it tastes great and a breeeeezzzzeee to work with. you will understand what I'm saying once you've done the steps I've told you :)
Hi Monique, the chocolate i use is absolutely fantastic. it doesn't set that fast (unless room is really cold)...you can very easily dip 30 cake pops before you need to reheat...
Joy, I've heard that bakers compound chocolate is really good to work with..have you tried it? maybe i should get my hands on some and see how it works :P
Looks like so much fun.
All the possibilities with these are amazing.
thank you very much Donna ❤️
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you! 😎👍
They look mouth watering and sooo pretty
I've seen these made where you can invert them, so as they dry they develop a point at the top of the pop from the dripping chocolate. Any idea where I can get my hands on the form they used to hold the pops upside down?

I've tried this several.times but I always end up with the colors just blending into one as it runs off the pop...maybe my chocolate is too warm??? How do you get the design to stay put???
Where have you stuck the pops?? What foam is it? Where can i buy in auckland?
It's called styrofoam and you can purchase it in the "arts and crafts" or "school supplies" section of your local super market. You could also purchase it at Michael's or any arts and crafts store.
Very very nice. Really enjoyed watching you do these. Its my favourite cake pops video to date. Very creative. Really going to try these :)

Superb..do we need to keep adding colours before dipping a cake pop
No just add colour whenever you like...it will keep fading and when you think its to light then add some colour...
These are so beautiful 😍definitely gonna try this
thank you very much India :)
Never knew how easy it is to get the marble effect on a cake pop. Will make these for eid
Hi, yes they are very easy to do. Marble effect is my personal favourite. Every single one comes out so unique and just so perfect.
woww

How do you keep it from falling off the stick when you twist it?
When you insert the cake pop stick make sure you have plenty of chocolate on it and insert it about half way through your cake pop then leave in refrigerator for a good 7 mins to make sure the chocolate has set in the cake pop then no matter how much you twist it won't fall apart...if you watch all my cake pop videos you will understand how i make them....

Where can I find food coloured powder? In Canada?
Hi there! When you add the butter to your cake, does that ever create dripping down your sticks? I'm having an issue with oil dripping down mine after a while.
I haven't had that happen to me. Use simple syrup instead of butter. simple syrup will soak into your cake pops and you should have any oil dripping..
@@ItsAPieceOfCake thank you! I'll try that!
I use applesauce instead of butter and I get perfect cake every time with very little to no leakage!
Fun and lovely to watch. Learnt a lot. Thanks.
amazing can't wait to try this out this weekend
Hi Nadine, thank you! please keep me updated on how you go :)
Hello! What brand of food coloring powder do you use and can it be purchased online? Thanks!
hi yes food colour powder can be purchased online...but most cake decorating shops have them...americolour have a good range but my favourite powders are robert confectionery..
Did you need to temper the chocolate?
Hi Sharon if your using compound chocolate you dont need to temper...
my white chocolate doesn't melt that well. it gets liquidy but not enough to dip the cake pops. do you suggest adding a little bit of oil to the chocolate? reply asap pls I have to make these within a few hours

How long can we store them outside ? Is it necessary to store them in fridge ? Can we make these a day ahead of party?
When I make mine i make them atleast a couple days before and i leave them in a cupcake box. i do not put them back in the fridge. Your cake will not dry out because the chocolate coating blocks out any air. If you place them in fridge they might sweat so you will have this water leak on the chocolate...

How did you keep your melted chocolate (melts) warm and dippable (lol) long enough to do all those different colors without it hardening on you.
Hi Monique, the chocolate i use is absolutely fantastic. it doesn't set that fast (unless room is really cold)...you can very easily dip 30 cake pops before you need to reheat...
Its A Piece Of Cake what kind of chocolate do you use??
I try doing the cake pops like you did but it doesn’t come out the same only white

Joy, I've heard that bakers compound chocolate is really good to work with..have you tried it? maybe i should get my hands on some and see how it works :P
Thank you for your suggestion. Do you know of any specific brands? Are you willing to do a comparison video?
