I loved this game so much. One of the thing that sets it apart from other racing games for me at the time was that it was actually pretty colorful. It didn't have that dumpy desaturated industrial city setting that 99,7% of all mid-late '2000s racing and sports games had. You had 3 varied regions to play around with. I mean how cool was that? Oh, and road rage. That gamemode is pure crack cocaine.
Video games were so much better back then. I really cannot understand why EA decided to not make this game available to everyone. It should have been remastered or at least ported to newer consoles to increase accessibility.
9:39 That right there is one of the many reasons why Burnout 3 is one of the best games in the franchise. Satisfying moments like that. The sound, the impact, the camerawork and the physics. Personally I don't think any other game in the series capitalized on that as well as Burnout 3 did (maybe except for Revenge with the crashbreaker, which was also really satisfying to use).
Burnout dominator was also very good actually its my favorite. The very satisfying sounds that it have especially the sound of getting three or more Takedowns in one explosion"crashbreacker" that you had after you crashed
I grew up with this game. The memories were awesome. I remember when i was a kid playing this and feeling so immersed that hours on top of hours would pass and i was happy all the time back then. Now im almost 30 and the struggle is real. Nostalgia.. simpler times
Brands just don't want to see their cars ruined in video games. Here, there are no car from any brand like Ferrari, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Ford etc. That's why you can do everything you want with Burnout's cars.
I loved playing this game because of the impact on the crashes of the cars and also because of the slow motion at the time it hits. Simply magnificent, I can see myself playing as a child.
One of the best games of all time, what a marvelous arcade experience and with the emu we can see this game at its full potential, thank you so much, your videos are pure gold
Oh hell yeah. Thank You XTG that you played Burnout 3: Takedown. It was the game of my childhood. I played it for almost 3 years. I had 92% progress. Until my PS2 stopped working. I wasn't sad. I was happy. I could play the best game I ever played on this planet. Thanks again, XTG.
I remembered playing this with my friend on ps2. The moment that touched my deepest heart. What a good memory. But when I played burnout paradise, I feel nothing
Burnout 3 is the only racing game that could ever make me cry... It is crazy how much this game makes me cry every time I play it. Who would have ever thought a racing game could be so emotional? So many different elements combine to make this game such an emotional experience for someone who actually experienced it back in the day when it was new. Every one of the kickass early 2000's rock songs on the soundtrack has the perfect combination of uplifting happy energy, emotional sadness, and nostalgia from a by-gone era that some of us still hold onto so tightly and never want to let to... Thinking about all the memories of playing this game with my dad and what life was generally like back in 2004/5/6, and how most young people will never know what it was like and how us old people will never be able to go back... Thinking about how great and unique the Burnout franchise is and it's practically dead since we haven't gotten a new game since Paradise... Thinking about how there are no other racing games like Burnout, no other franchise offers everything it does and does it so well... The developers did such an amazing job with every aspect these masterfully crafted games, including all of the experimental elements of Paradise... Thinking about how the devs at Criterion did such a great job creating and perfecting the BEST racing game franchise OF ALL TIME for us to enjoy... Thinking about how impressive the technology and quality of the game is despite the hardware limitations of running on the PS2 and Xbox... Thinking about how no other franchise will ever give us the same experience... Every time I boot up this game and get to the main menu it never fails to give me goosebumps because of all these different things... What a game...
Saludos!
Burnout 3: Takedown, probably the best game to have gone under the radar during PS2 generation. Was well ahead of its time when it came out.
