  • My day with Urticaria! I randomly broke out with quite a crazy rash, and decided this has to turn into an awareness session for my social media fam!
Urticaria, also known as hives, is a common skin condition that affects millions of people worldwide. It's characterized by raised, itchy wheals on the skin that can appear suddenly and disappear just as quickly. While urticaria is not usually serious, it can be uncomfortable and disruptive to your daily life. Here are some tips for managing your symptoms:
    1. Identify Triggers: Urticaria can be triggered by a variety of factors, including stress, certain foods, medications, and environmental factors like heat and cold. Try to identify what triggers your hives and avoid those triggers as much as possible.
    2. Keep a Symptom Diary: Keeping track of when your hives appear and what you were doing or eating before they appeared can help you identify patterns and potential triggers. This information can also be useful for your doctor or allergist.
    3. Seek Medical Advice: If your hives are persistent or severe, it's important to seek medical advice. Your doctor or allergist may be able to prescribe medication to help relieve your symptoms or refer you to a specialist if necessary.
    4. Manage Stress: Stress can trigger urticaria, so finding ways to manage stress is important. Try relaxation techniques like yoga or meditation, or engage in hobbies or activities that you enjoy.
    5. When should you rush to a hospital? If there is a sweeping of your lips or your tongue, or if you have difficulty swallowing or breathing, that’s when it could turn into an emergency.
Anyway, I for one am really hoping that my allergy was not because of mangoes!
