The problem you are having with the aircon is because you used your right hand on the touchscreen. So you kept pushing the aircon button with your wrist (strip of buttons below screen). If you use your left hand as you would in real world driving it is not a problem due to correct angle.
It took me 15 minutes of exploring to get used to the screen, and it actually works very well and is easy to navigate. There is one more function on display that you did not show, change the color of the instrument cluster display to Gold, Blue or Red.
Took it for 300km trip yesterday, first trip out of town. Drove no faster than 90km/h (will do so until 1000km on clock), mostly on cruise control, and the petrol usage was 6.1L/100km. 3 Adults in the vehicle. Fair amount of uphill and downhill. First 200Km in town (Brand New) I got 8.9L/100km.
This car drives very nice, the seats are comfortable, I am 6ft.4inch and find the driving position when seat is at it furthest back to be very good. My son same length as me fits behind me, but his knees then lightly touch the seat in front of him. So space wise it is great!
So far there is only 1 thing that I can complain about and it is cosmetic. The speaker covers on the doors looks more plastic than the rest of the cabin, I think HAVAL missed a trick there, it would have been not much more cost wise to make it look more premium as the rest of the cabin.
Hi Hansie, I agree, I realised after reviewing the video that my hand was brushing the pad under the screen and its very sensitive to that. Impressive return on fuel especially with 3 people. I have to say you guys are so tall compared to many people but you managed but did your son feel comfortable on that long trip?
And for plastics, I guess many will overlook as to what they are getting at the price range. Infact we expected more plastics than there are to the eye🤣
Very useful comments as we are planning to take the plunge and get this. I usually watch loads of vids before committing, but not many for the Jolion which is frustratin.

Thanks for the video, i've been waiting for this. I'm having difficulties changing my dashboard instrument. I tried putting the seat belt on, then press the button up/down & still won't allow me to change the theme of my dashboard. which button do you press first after to put the seat belt on in order for you to change the display? Do you need to start the car first? I have the car for 2 weeks now & I'm still stuck with the default screen. The manual that comes with car don't have enough information. Thanks.
Hi David, thanks a lot for watching. Once you put the seat belt on, just use the navigation buttons (up/down) then it will go to different screens. Once there you just use ok to get in and make changes. If you put the seat belt on and navigation buttons don't move you to settings, then start by pressing ok 1st. No need to start, can just press the start button without stepping on the brake then it will be "on" and allow you to do that.
@@sebuwam I'm having trouble with this also but pressing the up/down buttons won't do anything no matter what I try!

Hi Elizabeth, thanks a lot. You need to change the instrument cluster screen to show the info, using the controls on the right with the car stationary and seat belt on will help you unlock the screen to show settings

The volume setting you mention early in the video, do they control the volume of the indicators? I found them so loud on my test drive. I’ve read elsewhere online that you can’t change it. Maybe they were wrong?
I tried finding out from many people, if I remembee very well, it can't be reduced on the Jolion 🤔

I am not sure which Apps actually go into the system there. Maybe Haval has specific apps that can be downloaded as it looks like it has memory.

Hi, I covered it a bit as I test drove it in the video "overview". Its cloth seats and the dash is different as its not digital, lights are halogen, please check the video and see navigate to test drive.
How is the quality of the calls via Bluetooth in the car? Also, will you be doing a video of the new Haval H6 soon?
Hi, the quality in Haval is as clear as any other. I don't think it stands out from other brands.
Oh, and yeah. I am currently working on the H6. It will be uploaded soon.🙂

I saw another video where the infotainment layout was very different? Can you customise the look of it? The video I watched had big tile like sections for the buttons instead of the small ones lined up along the bottom for settings etc. Can you confirm this?
Mmmh, I never saw that option in SA. Not sure if Haval offers it in-house or its aftermarket accessories
@@sebuwam I took one for a drive today, I found the setting, it’s the theme setting you can change to “card mode” and it changes the display and how it looks. Really nice feature. Made the buttons easier to press as they were nice and big.
By the way, the track you did sound test with, mind sharing info on it? I like it. 👌👌

Bought a new Jolion last week. I still can’t work out how to access the cluster settings your changing.
I’m in Park, seatbelt on, I press the buttons on the right of the steering wheel and nothing changes.

Hi Sebuwa compared to the VW Polo , how is the sounds ? Does it have nice bass ?
Hi, Polo is actually quite loud but loses the balance and scratches a bit when the volume is too high. This one starts scratches at high volumes but remains in balance. Overall Polo is louder but this is balanced and loud enough to use it to chill outside with a few people while maintaining balance.
My new Lux won't move unless I have the seatbelt connected, which can be a nuisance if I just want to reverse/enter my garage (e.g. a few metres) etc. I can't seem to find any setting for that - are you able to help?
Hi Jill, unfortunately I don't think it can be turned off. What I remember though is that when you push down the electronic hand brake and push the accelerator to force it to override (gently), it might go regardless. Otherwise it might be something to live with as its for safety reasons.🤔
Based on your experience with the brand, how reliable is haval? Would you recommend it? Will I experience problems lets say 5years down the line of I buy it new?
Hi, I've done like 22000km on it with no major issues so far. Just bothered by the car key saying battery low sometimes, I've had my other car for more than 6 years and still using the same key battery (don't know if its because of the keyless entry tech eating it up or what). Otherwise the oldest H2 I see on sale online is a 2017 model with 132000km and looks pretty intact. I can't tell if its a lemon or mint without actually driving it though.
i connect my mobile phone via cable to Android auto but yet i cant play music from songs in my mobile folders, even Bluetooth get disabled once Android auto connected, can you help me?
Which phone are you using? My understanding is that it does not pick up files directly but via your music app

And lastly, can you set the AC for instance to be on your favourite list/short cut list as searching for an AC while driving may be hazardous.
Hi Joy, nope, android auto and car play are only connected on cable. Its difficult to look for AC settings in the screen especially when driving but there is a physical button for AC in the City Variant (Touch pad in Lux). This is so you don't keep looking at the screen whilst driving.

Hi I got my Jolion S last week....I'm struggling with the navigation....I downloaded Android Auto but does seem to work...not sure if it's my phone or the cord that has an issue.....I love my car it's really awesome the only issue is the phone mirror for me to navigate on the infotainment...
Hi Matthews, I know Huawei has issues on the Android auto, which phone are you using? Did you try to change cables?

Hi John, thanks a lot. 🙂. Unfortunately I don't know but I think the sound system is in house as on this variant it has not indicated any other brand. Usually with collaborations they indicate but this one is just having the Haval brand on the speaker covers.

@@simphiwetwala7919 That might be on the Super Lux. On the Lux I can assure you that the sound is not as strong as what I expect from Harman and Kardon

Hi Tracey, sorry I did not get back to you timeously. The car needs to be stationary and parked then you put your seatbelt on, use the Ok and Direction buttons. It will show you more settings. If it's not opening try turning it off and put it "on" by pressing the start button without stepping on the brakes and put the seatbelt on.

Is the theme selection different with the super luxury? I've been trying to change the instrument cluster with no luck.
Hi, did you put the seat belt on while stationary? That opens the extra layer of settings and I think thats where you can make changes to the instrument cluster
@@sebuwam Yes I did, seems like I had to long press the 'OK' button to unlock all functionality. From the factory, it comes locked for some reason
My screen is freezing sometimes. Is there any way to restart it or reset such as H6, you can press Home with volume for 10 seconds then both screen will restart.

Does it have voice command like open-close windows, turning radio on-off etc....where applicable?.
Nope. I think the voice command is mainly for google and apple in here.

Thanks a lot Wayne🙂. That issue sounds uncommon though as bluetooth picks up everything on the phone, maybe try with another phone and see if its the car. I am not entirely sure about Whatsapp though, let's hope someone who owns a Jolion can come through 🤔
I dont agree with motor journalist on the fuel consumption.
I drive on Eco-mode and average 6.5l/100km going to work 35km and 35km max'ing 120km @2.2 rpm. My car is now on 400km still brand new and estimate range is 345km, the tank is now approaching half.
wich do you choose between haval jolion and tiggo 7 pro?
Hi, from my understanding Chery is still organising to bring their new models here in SA. So I have not had an actual sight of the Tiggo 7, it sure looks great and almost similar to the current Haval H6 in design. I really can't tell at this point which one is better

Did the dealership respond? Can't you go there instead? I am sure they can help

Standard MP4 does play, I don't think size matters but some 4K videos/movies may not play as some laptops also struggle with them. Unless if its taken from a phone🤔

Do you know where the mute button or how we mute the stereo system in the Jolion because in the H6 it has a mute button on the steering wheel but they seem to have left it off in the Jolion
Isnt it in the screen where you swipe to the right? You can control the volume in there if not on the steering wheel.

My brother I'm looking to buy a car but not sure which SUV. Which is the one you would recommend between jolion and hyandai or kia
Hi Lucky, it all depends on what is your value point in the car you have. Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta are the same car under the skin. To me Seltos looks more stunning and has great character than Creta. The engines are the same and if you can afford to get to R490K then get the 1.4 TGDI because it can really perform. Then comes the Jolion which I will compare to the Seltos (after choosing Seltos over Creta). With the two cars really its about price - Seltos with all bells and whistles is R90K more than Jolion, it has a bigger boot and overall greater performance on the engine. Jolion on the other hand is overall a winner in interior design, drive comfort and what you get for the price. If you are after performance, better warranty and service plan, get the Seltos (Only the 1.4TGDI). I would not choose any other Seltos over Jolion if I am after comfort and on budget (like you are not willing to pay extra R90K). Basically Jolion overall offers better value for money but Kia performs well by a little margin over Jolion. Jolion Lux is even much cheaper for me its the sweet spot.

@@luckytyali7727 Qashqai is overall a great car. I think though its been around for way too long and currently near the end of its life cycle. In terms of quality feel to the hands, I would still take Seltos.

Hi, I had a comment from Hansie who is around 1.9m and he said he was sitting comfortably and had another person of the same height behind him.
I am 1.95 cm and it is very comfortable driving the Jolion. My boy, same length fits in the seat behind me when I drive. Space in car is not a problem at all.

Hi, I think it might be best to use Android auto or Apple Car Play. They are easier for navigation, just download then plug in the phone.

Hi, apologies for getting back so late. My understanding is that the language can be changed either in the instrument cluster or main screen under system settings.

Nah, its supposed to. You pressing while the car is in motion or stationary? When its stationary it will work. If not you need to maybe go check at the dealership if its a fault

My car does not respond to android auto on Android phone or Apple car play on iPhone. Android nothing happens and with a iPhone it shows as a iPod. Why would that be. Both phones are current models. I can not get android auto or carplay to work in my Jolion, I have the super Lux. If someone can guide me please.
Hi Pierre, please try to re-download the apps on your phones to see if maybe thats where the issue is as it did not connect with me 1st time but 2nd time it connected well. If it does not work I think its best to go check at the dealership because earlier models did not have android auto fitted and one should go for the update at the dealership.

@@sebuwam Hi, I have take my car today for the update at our local Haval dealership. Android Auto is now available but cannot connect with my Huawei P30 lite, give me a red screen on my phone and then connection error 18. What could be the problem. I have tried to restart the phone, connect first with bluetooth uninstall android auto on my phone, re-install. nothong work. My son iPhone works perfect. Any ideas!?
@@pierrevanwyk8679 Hi Pierre, I think there is something wrong with Huawei phones, especially with latest updates. As I have seen a number of people complaining. Hi guys, I found the secret answer to open this menu. Put seatbelt on and press ok for 3 sec.
Looks like a pain to operate. Not having physical buttons for A/C is so annoying. Trying to adjust the A/C while driving on a touch screen is rather difficult.

Thanks a lot Timmy. Yeah, I realised though that the touch pad is sensitive to fabric as well. My jacket was the one touching the pad as I was trying to operate the screen.
Don't rest your hand on the touchpad below and the A/C won't activate. Not hard. lol
