In the Philippines we have toyota lite ace utility trucks and vans and pick ups for $698k pesos ,that's 12,437 usd . Other brands too like Suzuki , Kia Rusi and more . All are in the ball park on price . I'm with you on I don't believe this cheap in America .

It comes unassembled in a box. The proprietary tools to assemble are what's expensive!

I look at this with a healthy dose of incredulity. GM made just such an announcement yesterday about a new $8000 Pickup. Now it remains to be seen if any of this come to pass or just more bluster. Fords standard of "excellence" has slipped mightily of late. Especially give their insistence of building EV's that few want and less need. An $8000 pickup would be a great idea, if it is indeed $8000 and not 8K plus 14K in dealer fees and costs. A $5000 car would also be a great idea, as long as it was $5000.

This type of small pickup trucks must have a significant share of automobile market. You can sell every one of this type of small trucks at $8,000 in us for sure if Ford makes them. Ford knows how to make trucks.
The dealerships will not allow that to happen because of evil and greedy CEO's. Salesmen will do anything to make up the money they have lost because of their greed. Those trucks will also be slow to sell until it is proved reliable and worth the dealer markup. So good luck I am still not buying one because it is cheaper to keep mine running.
You talked about Fords $8,000 pickup truck for over ten minutes but showed at least eight minutes of 30,000 to 70,000 trucks and sprinkled in a few seconds of a cheap truck trucks from time to time. Don't show me your high end trucks when you really want me to think about buying a cheap two wheel drive short bed two door truck with little or no options. I've owned two Fords, the first was a 1939 four door car and the last was a 1965 LTD convertible. For the next twenty years I bought GM cars. Now I have three vehicles and they are all Toyotas. I finally found some cars and trucks worth having (2 cars and 1 truck). I'm not saying that I wouldn't buy anything but Toyotas but I will need a good reason to give up quality and buy junk.

In 1984 I bought my first new truck, an F150 2wd regular cab, AOD with a 302 engine, 8 foot box. It also had an AM radio, but I put an Alpine system in it. At 21yrs old, it was a great truck for me. Back then it was $10K. So, for $8k in 2024? Absolute BS. For that price will it have a motor, heater, seat, brakes, tires?

I saw a similar video in 2023. Sounds like bullsh*t. I cancelled on a $38k Maverick Lariat Hybrid last year because I finally got to drive one and thought it was a clown truck. They just started building my Ranger Lariat for $47k.
When the Maverick pickup came out, I was interested. After shopping for over a year and finding none available, I finally found one at a dealership. A
year old, 7,000 miles, and $17,000 over new MSRP.

Okay. I got it. Verbosity is your middle name. What is available? I got burned by FORD's 1.6 engine in my Escape. Once bitten, twice shy. Is it reliable? Does it come in 2 dr? What about the warranty, referring again to the 1.6? I got a 2018 and they had the problem, quietly, since 2014, so they knowingly sold me a car that they knew to be bad. Will it be the same with the $8000.00 truck? Does it have a standard trans or auto? What size bed is available?
