Yeah I heard the OG is brutal. It's still the same difficulty wise I think (maybe harder with the annoying soldiers on this one) but just ALOT quicker with the time skip. I may have to venture into the OG at some point Thanks for watching ! 🫡
The mini chainsaws in the original were the best in the game (with books). In this, they’re nerfed heavily. The machete you get from cliff is actually better now.
They were even stronger!? Damn. Yeah I noticed they were good. Wasn't sure if you could restock on them. The longsword from sean was awesome as well. Thanks for letting me know. Appreciate you taking time out your day to watch the video too 🫡
A quick tip for the Cletus (gun shop) boss fight if anyone’s interested. since two handed objects can block bullets now, you just have to pick up the display stands in the shop and smack him across the counter with them.
ah your mistake was not starting with zombie genocider run. having the buster *really* helps with a perfect run. edit: you can get saint while doing all case files. it will unlock at the end of OT mode when you and isabela escape as well.
I don’t recommend going for the buster first it’s an insane grind and the games easy enough so that you don’t need it. Infinite rocket launcher is better and that can be unlocked with Saint.
@@houseofsten true it is a pretty massive grind, but it makes soldiers less of a slog. and sets you up as level 50 for your perfect playthrough. still an entertaining video, Nothing wrong with challenging yourself. this is just how I tackled it.
37:13 Brad was like a hommage to brad vickers from RE. insteand of cowards, he always run to to the danger and his yellow shirt to match and his fate as zombie and even encounter him as a optional quest like from re2.
Funny you mention that. When I looked at the achievement list. When I saw zombie Brad I assumed it was an achievement where brad vickers would be in the game since there were lots of RE skins and references haha. Didn't think it would actually be a character in the game ☠️ Thanks for watching !
I'm in England and I'm going to go through the DR3 soon for all the achievements, if you need a co-op partner I'm happy to help as it'll be the 2nd time collecting everything in game.
I really enjoyed your video! The editing was great and I enjoyed the humor that you added. Not to mention what the game already had to offer. Makes me want to do this game myself since I also didn't play the original. Keep it up!
Thanks mate. Really glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate you taking time out your day to watch it. You should definitely try it. It's rough at times to learn but worth it in the end !
Had a blast with this remaster. It came out on the same day as the Broken Sword remaster but decided to play DR first. You’re a mad lad for doing so much of it in one go lol. Good job though, the quality of life improvements made it much less brutal than the OG. I never got 1k in the OG, I still need the Otis calls and the 5 and 7 day survivor achievements. Dunno if I can be arsed doing a 14 hour sitting though.😅
Nice man. Have you finished DRDR yet? Yeah I definitely should of spaced it out haha. But it came out in a good time for me to grind it so thought why the hell not. I'd do the OG but really don't want to deal with the Otis achievement. I hate ones like that. 14 hours may not be too bad for me since I did 24 hours haha. But I feel you. Thanks for watching mate. Appreciate you taking time out of your day to watch the content as usual. 🫡
Nice man! how many hours did it take you to finish do you think? Difficulty in terms of achievements or the game itself? I know autosaves and time skipping make the game ridiculously easier do you think it may just be because you've done the OG before so knew what to do? I feel like now I know what to do, I could probably rattle off the OG quite easily but i'll put that to the test eventually haha. thanks for watching!
This game is way harder than I expected and I know the original game was even harder. But I need some help. Do you have any tips for the last part with the soldiers? They always kill me. I can't sneak or take cover Even on a bicycle or skateboard They still hitt me With pinpoint accuracy. I need to collect the ingredients for the vaccine
Yeah, the soldiers are apparently way harder on this one. The only tips I can give for that last part is to try to kill a couple soldiers initially and get their weapon. If they get close you and do a special move that insta kills them. I didn't know it at the time. But once you get the gun, go to seons store next to the gun shop and once you go through the door go to the far right corner and you can stack up on OJ. Then just fight your way along collecting new guns to replace the ones you used. You can also just sprint and roll if you get stun locked and just grab the stuff. Even if you die after you grab it , it stays with you. They are a pain in the ass though. Good luck and thanks for watching 🫡
@houseofsten Okay I will try but eugh It's a nightmare then stun you when they hit you But it doesn't happen when you shoot them! It really takes the fun out of it
Sten: 'Go away Kent'-he held the shotgun with both hands-'I'm busy', Kent, unwilling and too much of a idiot to know exclaimed 'Hey you!-' as he got a nice shotgun to the face. lol
That is actually a misconception about Transmissionary in DR1. In the original you still get the achievement if you get interrupted. Otis calls you back just like in the Deluxe Remaster. I just got the achievement today in original DR1. I was interrupted in one of my calls and got the achievement. People pass this misconception around like a bad rumor because they fear they won’t get the achievement. Another misconception happens in Infinity Mode for 7 day survivor where people say your game will get stuck loading in the food court. That was a glitch that only existed the Xbox 360 version, every later release on the PS4, Xbone, & Steam patched this. Yet people still pass it around like this glitch still exists and you should avoid the food court anyway. I risked my 7 Day Survivor run testing it to prove it was patched. Playing 14 hours straight is still in itself brutal on it’s own.
Oh really? thanks for letting me know. that makes me feel alot better about DR OG when i get around to doing it. Its all over trueachievements and stuff so I just go off what I can see to give abit of context thanks for testing it and risking it. The true legend we all need! are you going to do DRDR as well?
@@houseofsten The remaster fixes most of my issues with the OG game so the answer is yes. Exit Saves for Infinity Mode is just a blessing. Not having to spend four hours killing zombies underground dedicating an entire playthrough to unlock the Mega Buster is also a blessing. Improved Survivor AI sign me up please. I may be an OG fan but I just came off the fresh hell that was the OG game. These improvements were GREATLY needed. My advice for Infinity Mode in the OG game is to set an alarm for every 17 minutes to remind you that need to feed frank so you can go do anything else other than play 14 hours straight.
I also recently did this challenge, heres a few tips I found out during my playtime (as well as some corrections): 5:56 portraits don't require you to take a photo they just require you to have met the survivor in question. 7:53 if you can believe it, this AI is still actually significantly smarter. 13:10 the mini chainsaws are honestly much worse than they were, I'm not really sure if they're worth keeping on you over the mannequin torso if you aren't buffing them with books 14:06 if you only use "advance time" and not "fast advance" you theoretically can't skip transmissions. HOWEVER, transmissions don't trigger in the security room, so if you're worried about them you should really advance time in the bathrooms. My personal preference is flexin in al fresca, if only because you can chain a lot of events together from that area on day 1. 14:56 you don't need a ranged weapon per se. What triggers his counter throw is you hitting him with a melee weapon when you're behind the counter with him. Many melee weapons can reach across the counter, which will trivialize him, as he can't counter that. 16:35 I think(?) you can take a picture after killing them and still have it count so long as a body is left behind, which makes just fighting them easier. I might be wrong though. 18:05 always having a skateboard around really helps conserve time, especially when your movement speed hasn't capped yet. Books can help with this as well. 18:49 spam hitting with weapons is a really bad idea. Only your first hit is going to do full damage and knock back (when applicable). Unless you're strong enough that the follow up hits will kill, I find its generally better for resource conservation to stagger your hits a bit. How best to do that depends on what you're fighting. 23:05 if you're going for saint anyway, you can save time and just photograph them all in the security room too. It doesn't seem like they all need individual pictures, they just need to be included in at least one picture. 24:24 you can go through doors while on a vehicle (this is true in original dr as well but was changed for dr2). If you take a motorcycle to wonderland plaza and line yourself up right, you can easily fly off the stairs for this achievement. Alternatively, there are many ramps in north plaza, which also always has a motorcycle inside after isabella's boss fight. You could also easily take this bike to wonderland plaza too if those ramps are making it difficult. 26:25 running guns out of ammo also counts for this, which might be faster to do, as paradise plaza's entrance to leisure park always has at least one cop zombie carrying a hand gun, and bullets don't need to hit anything to deplete. 26:47 optimally, there was no reason to do this. Even in a failstate playthrough, this time could've been used to rack up zombie annhilator kills, work towards clothing horse, or work towards PP collector. If nothing else, 2 of those 3 options also offer experience, though its not like you're ever really want for exp in this game. While a bit of a waste of time, you could also still meet all the survivors you can so that their availability is added to your notebook, which can help you route in future playthroughs. 27:01 I think(?) this is untrue, as you can still get saint with ending B. I didn't do it this way, but if you still manage to save everyone you normally can (except simone who requires properly completing a late-game case) you have just enough survivors, as ending B counts jessie, brad, and barnaby as survivors, whereas they perish in ending A. 30:20 this isn't particularly helpful, but you don't actually have to kill thomas if you take care of the other two. He's still added to your notebook if you talk to him while he mourns them, though he's listed as lost rather than dead. 34:02 I can't tell what you mean exactly, but I think you're just incorrect about this. You have ample time to meet Kent at noon, then deal with the bombs, then get Simone before her availability runs out (I think it runs out at 17:00?). These are the last two survivors in the game, nothing else should be in your way at that time. The achievement won't pop at the ending A screen, as Frank and Isabella don't safely leave until after overtime (ending S). You have to remember that no matter how urgent the story makes the bombs sound, every tick on the mission time bar is one full hour. 34:50 Again, this is a problem solved by skateboard. I believe skateboard's top speed is actually faster than the motorcycle. It's really the most important piece of utility in the game. 35:39: You wouldn't've had time to do this, but defeating carlito in the truck during the bomb mission adds an additional cutscene to give context to this one. There a few jarringly optional cutscenes like this, where the plot makes more sense if you see them. 37:16 You don't need pictures of brad and jessie anymore, but in the original version I believe that's what causes the achievement to pop 39:45 Not related to the challenge, but to clarify this scene she was infected by Barnaby. Why neither of them succumbs to this in ending B I don't know. 42:00 At some level, you unlocked disembowel (in playstation controls its R1+X). This instant kills and counts towards the achievement. I can't believe you survived fighting them with normal hits. 42:21 Honestly, with this game's auto-saves, it's just faster to treat it like a death and reload your last auto-save if you want to be in-game time efficient. 42:43 Really, any achievement that involves "do something to X number of zombies" is best done in the underground parking lot. They're in such big groups its almost hard not to achieve stuff there. This is especially easy if you pick up the maintenance key early, which also gives you more routing options to get from place to place. 43:00 Don't know if it's meant to work like this, but shooting it with anything seems to grant this. I shot it with one handgun bullet, which is probably easier to find than a rocket launcher. 45:30 depending on your load times and zombie density, it might be slightly more efficient to just use lot A. Drive the red car to lot A (where the meat facility is) and kill the zombies, then head down and back up the ramp (this respawns that group) until your car explodes. Walk in and out of the meat facility and then just use the white truck there. This white truck respawns anytime you leave and re-enter, which is why we want to use lot A specifically. Because zombies are sparse in certain parts of the tunnels, this might be overall more consistent, though I'm not crazy enough to test it. Also, if you get the infinite ammo magazine before attempting this, you could also bring a rocket launcher to the tunnels at the very end to perform a similar loop. I haven't done that method myself, but supposedly its pretty fast. 46:57 REALLY IMPORTANT NOTE FOR CLOTHES HORSE TO OTHERS WHO ATTEMPT THIS The ingame item descriptions found in the locker tells you what store carries each item. Glasses entry 07/09 falsely claims that pair of glasses is available in al fresca's eyes like us. It's in wonderland plaza and not available in al fresca. They should really patch that, as it made me waste a lot of time. 47:44 (related to 5:56) taking the picture didn't trigger this, opening the survivor tab did. Without watching your full playthrough, I can't say for sure what happened, but I'm guessing since you reloaded to do case 7, your notebook didn't have Tad's entry (your saint ending playthrough conversely wouldn't have had Larry's). Just seeing the survivor is enough, but you didn't technically ever see him in your ending A playthrough because you thought it was impossible. 48:34 You can do basically this same strat but sub pamela and heather for jolie and rachel at 5pm if you fight the sniper family and kill off wayne, leave for a call about floyd, kill him, and then leave for a call about the two of them. The downside of this is you have to go back to the security room at 3 for a case (if you want ending A) but Pamela can be a bit frustrating to save depending on how the zombies want to act when you first find her. It's mostly a matter of preference, though your path is probably more optimal.
Great way of summing all of that up. Was honestly painful to watch at times with him only focusing on the achivments and not actually the in game unlocks per save file
Hey, I really appreciate the comment. Looks like a lot of effort went into it with some really great context. I'll pin it if that's cool? since it gives pretty good insight into what I did wrong, some corrections/answers on achievements etc I'll start off by saying yes, I did a lot wrong. my interpretation of some of the achievements may of been wrong, some of the guides/info i went off on trueachievements were from the OG version so I did things I did not have to do/may have lead me down a different route etc. and of course, I didn't do the OG before so a lot of this achievement hunt was trial and error. hindsight is a marvellous thing and had I been able to do it all again now, I would change alot of what I did. but this video shows the journey of unlocking them so that what you all get to see! 5:56 - thanks for letting me know! I assumed by portrait, taking their picture was part of it. that definitely makes it a whole lot easier! 7:53 - oh man, that makes me dread the OG for sure haha. 13:10 - If i thought they were OP on this then damn, im in for a treat when i get around to the OG haha. 14:06 - thanks for letting us know, I assume you would only miss them too if you skipped so far that it completely expires the mission. Just thought i'd put it in there as a "better safe than sorry" measure. 14:56 - Ahh ok, I think i only had the chainsaws at that point and they just couldn't reach him. I just wasn't prepared for that fight at all haha. 16:35 - you are correct, you can take pictures of their body too. Just need to make sure you remember to before you leave the area or their body will vanish. Luckily on this one it is just 4 psychos you need to picture instead of (i believe) 10 on the OG? 18:05 - I never actually knew skateboard existed until I found one when i was doing all the outfit achievements haha. That would of definitely helped. 18:49 - Yeah it seems some psychos have a few invincibility frames once they have been hit whereas others you can just go crazy on them. I think i was still cautious of the time limit for the medicine because I didn't want a repeat of last time so i just went ballistic on him haha. 23:05 - That is correct! - I just got in a habit of taking all their pictures. I think its because I was going for the picture 30 survivors achievement so it just became a force of habit taking a picture of everyone and anyone. 24:24 - ahh yes, that makes sense. definitely would of made that achievement a whole load easier! I didn't think of going inside the mall... 26:25 - Good shout, I guess going to the gun store would be an easy way too, i think there may be an infinite supply of handguns where I picked up the one for cletus. Worse case you could just reset the area by leaving/reentering the mall or a store. thanks for sharing! 27:01- A few have mentioned that, they said you don't get it initially but once you complete overtime mode, you get it.which is ending S? could be totally wrong. I just went off what I read online, true achievements and what people mentioned in my chat. 30:20 - ahh very interesting. Ashame he got it first I guess haha. 34:02 - yes, you are correct. I just wanted to kinda lightly sugar coat the story instead of dropping the truth of what happened to brad/Jessie before it happened. even if i put to avoid spoilers, i feel like you can kinda put 2 and 2 and work out what happens if you need to extract before brad heads down. Props for spotting that flaw though haha. 34:50 - oh, so can the skateboard just be kept in your inventory? I assumed it may be one of those items where if you change to a different one, frank would drop it. Yep, skateboard would definitely have helped a ton here then! 35:39 - dang, wish i saw that. ill have a look on youtube for it. Thanks. 37:16 - You are correct - Force of habit at that point! 39:45 - thanks, i realised later on but forgot to touch on to it. It really came out of nowhere haha. 42:00 - Yeah a few have mentioned that move. It was quite tough but I kept going to Seons and stocking up on Orange Juice so it wasn't actually too bad. 42:21 - I did think about doing that, i wasn't sure if going back to an autosave would reset all the progress I had done towards the melee achievement so i just left it as it was. then, when i unlocked the achievement i went back to the OG save to have all my gear. 42:43 - I didn't think about the maintenance tunnel when it came to this achievement, damn. that would of been alot easier and quicker, you are right. 43:00 - I didn't think about the maintenance tunnel when it came to this achievement, damn. that would of been alot easier and quicker, you are right. 45:30 - Yeah i had a pretty optimal path. Driving up to the part where the truck is had the much more dense wave of zombies so I just kept rerunning that part. Doing it that much you kinda get bored at times you just go on a little drive somewhere else to mix it up haha. I forgot about the Meat locker room. That is probably better yeah since then you can forget about the Red car for the most part and just keep using the truck. Good shout! 46:57 - thanks for pointing that out. 47:44 - ahh ok, that does make sense. thank you. Yeah you are right, so once i got the saint achievement. I loaded the previous save and then just totally tunnel visioned and ignored the last kent mission, therefore making me miss Tad which meant he was not added to the notebook. 48:34 - thanks for sharing that way of doing it. this was the most annoying achievement by far. Either works I guess. the way I did it you can get it all done quickly in day 2 but if your way unlocks the achievement too then thats a win! I really appreciate the comment mate, thanks for breaking down those points and providing some corrections/insights. Hopefully when I get round to doing the OG, I don't have the same problems or make the same mistakes haha. thanks again for comment and taking time out your day to watch the content. It means alot! have a great weekend!
@@TheGamingGeezer Wow, sorry mate. That "was honestly painful to read". Especially since the channel is about an Achievement hunter where the videos literally focus on the achievements the game has to offer. I'll start a "in game unlocks" channel just for you though
@@houseofsten Sure, you're free to pin it. And it's perfectly understandable there's things you wouldn't've known or thought to try. I feel like there's a lot of things in the game you have to learn by accident, lol. And yes, you can carry skateboards in your inventory. Since they're right across from the infinite orange juice on paradise plaza 2F, I always grabbed one on my way out. I can also confirm, I got saint from doing ending S. It doesn't pop on the ending A results screen because the survivor chart doesn't classify frank and isabella as safe until after you actually beat overtime and get them out. It's a bit confusing if you're using the in-game notebook to keep track, as story characters like isabella fluctuate between "safe" and "located" a few times.
Hate to say it but to get the full notebook achievement you don’t need to photograph every survivor, just meeting them fills the entry for you. Doesn’t need to be photos taken of just having met them fills the entry even if they die, so only need to photograph the 30 for census taker then you could have carried on
Ahh OK, must of misread/misinterpreted it. It didn't seem to unlock until I took a pic of the last one. Thanks for letting me know and most importantly thanks for taking time out your day to watch, I appreciate it ! 🫡
@@houseofstenyou are welcome! Been watching your content for a while now found your resident evil video a while back and been coming back for your achievement videos ever since!
Side note: I finished filling the notebook last night, but the achievement didn't pop _until I opened the notebook_ . I was stressing about this one acheeve bc I still didn't have a clear path to victory, so I gritted my teeth, opened the notebook and boom, the acheeve popped. This game is a roller coaster, man.
I remember getting the Saint achievement even when I did the true ending even though most people say you need to do ending B. I think they forget that Otis takes a helicopter to escape with the other survivors I saved or the survivors got taken by the military (I don’t exactly remember) and I did miss 2 survivors but still got it because Frank and Isabela technically count at the end.
I think what people probably mean when they say its impossible to get Saint on ending A is that you need to play through overtime, which technically is ending S. But yes, if we ignore how pedantic that is, you can get Saint on a true ending playthrough.
Ahh OK, a couple have mentioned that. I just went off what trueachievements/some guides said as I didn't want to mess it up the second time through. But thanks for sharing ! Think ending b gives you a little room for error too so is probably the best to go for. Especially since you can just make a save before case 7, get out of there then continue after. Thanks for watching !
@@houseofsten I just did this yesterday. Yes, I got ending A, immediately started overtime, got through it, and the Saint popped AFTER OVERTIME. The other acheeves popped at end of main campaign, 4 Day, OT Mode, etc. I had no idea the Saint acheeve was ahead and was furious! 😂😂 So yeah, 'go for B' is, I think, meant for folks that may have let more than one survivor die, but to get them all, Brad and Jessie must die, and Isabella won't leave until after OT, and she's the 50th.
@@houseofstenyou are who inspired me to go for all achievements for my playstation games! You gave me a reason to play and have fun again and i thank you from the bottom of my heart
If you've done the original, then yes. it would be easy since it's the same game but easier. But for the others that haven't played it before, you still gotta learn the game, the achievements, and how things work. If I were to do it again, it would be a lot quicker, and I wouldn't have wasted many hours on my first playthrough, but hey ho, that's part of the journey. Thanks for watching and GG on the completion 🫡
Unfortunately the way he did saint voids the unlock if you then go and reload a save to continue to the true ending as future playthroughs require you to load a finished playthrough with those requirements done. It's not a major thing but if you want the infinite durability magazine you will need to load from that file
You can actually get the Saint achievement when getting the true ending you just have to save all listed and unlisted survivors as well as complete overtime mode because after Brad and Jessie die you have 48 survivors but with overtime mode Frank and Isabella count as the last 2 you need
A few have mentioned that! Thanks for letting me know. Didn't realise at the time. From what I read online, it seems alot of people aren't aware Thanks for watching!
I don't think Frank counts bc I just did a (drdr) Saint run, got an A, and finished with 49 survivors on my final stat review. Brad and Jessie were dead, Isabella wasn't (at that point) leaving, 49 survivors saved. Then I did OT, got Isabella out, and got Saint. I am positive it said 49 bc I was so freaking pissed I hadn't gotten Saint then. Yelling, "49?!? WTF?!?" at the tv.😂😂
So from what I can tell, the deve didn't learn from the mistakes of DR2 OtR, where Psycho's get a strange and sort of unfair "partial" damage after being hit in rapid succession. I've seen OG 1, and personally played both 2 and OtR, and 1 and 2 don't have the partial damage stuff, making boss fights less annoying. I haven't seen 3 in ages so I can't say if they had it there or not, and I don't even think anyone wants to talk about 4... Anyways it still seems more fun to try and get all achievements/trophies than not.
thanks for sharing! Yeah some of those invincibility frames were annoying. I have been warned heavily about 4 . I am dreading doing it. Almost contemplating not doing it tbh haha. not only does it sound like an awful game but it seems like its very grind, buggy and just a straight up terrible experience. thanks for watching!
"20 saves is massive compared to the 3 you had before" It's also massive compared to the singular one you had for a run, in the original ;_; The weirdness about how much meat americans eat, is a parralel / analogy with zombies insatiable hunger and consumerism. Part 2 makes alludes to greed by taking place in a casino. I love the cheesyness of this series so much. It has some quirky little comments to make about stuff, serious moments and absolute goofball stuff. The americana flitered through a japanese lens, and then filtered through our western sensibilities is just so much fun and they did it so well xP
Thanks for sharing ! Ahh that makes sense. Yeah I enjoyed the game alot. Just burnt myself out doing it all in like 40 hours 🤣 Have you completed it all too? Thanks for watching !
Hi. I have decided to 100% the DR series. I already have DR 2, 3, and almost all of their dlc. Multiplayer acheeves are being stubborn. My xb achievement list has three DR 1s: DR 1 from 2006, the 'soft remaster' from 2016, and the new DRDR from 2024. I have decided to ignore my 2016 version for now, and complete DR 1 and DRDR first. Question: If I play on a 360 today with a disc from 2006, will the achievements go to my 2006 DR achievement list? I'm at 90% on DRDR and _really_ enjoying this project. Only have 5 Day, 7 Day, Genocider and 10,000 left. I want to finally complete my run from 2006 though. It's been at 52% for eighteen years. I have a disc otw from ebay. 🤞🤞
Good luck on your journey! they should do yeah. You can always load up the game and see if its loading the existing achievement stack. if not you can always remove it because its on 0g for a new stack. It should be the same stack though. Good luck on your journey and thanks for watching my video!
@houseofsten Great video! Ty for encouragement. Lol, I plugged in my 360 yesterday...red ring of death! 🤣🤣 Old school game, old school system, old school problems. 🤣🤣 Be well.
It was my first video and is unfortunately filled with a lot of copyright music etc before i knew what i was doing . Plus it was horrific compared to my newer stuff 🤣
Man, watching this reminds me why I both love and hate Dead Rising. 😂 After somehow being there for 18 of the 24 hours and being exhausted at the end of it...I have no idea how you managed the full 24. Sten, you are a man of steel! 😊 Honestly, that ending is so bloody stupid. Almost as stupid as those moronic cultists. Also, I don't care what anyone says, the AI is worse. 😅 P.S. Loved the Wesker cut away. ❤
At least I'm set up for a much smoother ride when it comes to DR OG haha. thanks my man. It was fun having you all there. definitely would of been way more painful without you all. I'd probably still be streaming it now :D Onto the next !... just need to find another player for the coop ones .... hmmm
Working on re5 video next. Just thought with the remaster of DR It was a good opportunity to enter a new series. It will be soon my friend. Thanks for watching !
I'm not really sure why this was a huge struggle for you. In my first run I completed all achievements except for escorting 8 survivors at once. Compared to the original it is beyond a cakewalk and with auto-saves any mistake can be fixed.
You mostly answered that yourself. "Compared to the original" which I haven't done before. So this game and the achievements were totally new to me. If i had done the original before, this game would of been ridiculously easy, yes, having done or knowing what I know now I could polish off the achievements in 1 playthrough pretty much. but, I didn't at the time and a lot of things were trial and error. I wouldn't say it was a "huge struggle" there were just some achievements you need to do it in a specific way in order to get them. which you wouldn't know how to get unless you look at a guide/researched or done the achievements before. The difficulty lied mainly with the fact I did it all in pretty much 2x 24 hour streams so I was pretty tired and pushing to get it done. thanks for watching
Agreed, but i havent done the OG before so it was still abit tricky at times learning the game. If you've done it before and its the exact same game but the achievements/trophies are easier then yes it would be a cakewalk
Finished re5 and working on that. Just riding abit of the dead rising hype and having a little break from RE. Got one more quick spin off game of dead rising case west as the next video then it's straight back on RE while I grind revelations and re4 remake my friend 🫡
If you have done the OG then yes, I imagine it would be considering it's pretty much the exact same game with easier versions of the achievements. If you haven't played it, you still gotta learn the game and the achievements
if you haven't played the original go play it attempted to unlock all achievements while your at it the original is why more challenging then this version if you think your a true achievement hunter will you accept my challenge my good sir 🧐
Yeah i 100% will. Will wait a while, might do it as the last game of the series. Luckily I'll have a pretty good idea on what to do this time so there won't be too much trial and error Challenge accepted! thanks for watching
@@houseofsten yay I'm really looking forward to seeing you attempt the 7 day survivor in this version also how your going for every dead rising game achievements DR3 does have multiplayer achievements it's basically dead same goes for DR4 and it's mini golf DLC I've been trying myself to unlock every achievement for every dead rising so I'll leave my gamertag here ReV Amethyst just in case you need help
Drdr is easy in comparison to the original. At least you don’t need to spend 14 hours straight in infinity mode for 7 day survivor.
Yeah I heard the OG is brutal. It's still the same difficulty wise I think (maybe harder with the annoying soldiers on this one) but just ALOT quicker with the time skip. I may have to venture into the OG at some point
Thanks for watching ! 🫡
@@houseofstenSo you know you can get the saint achievement while going for ending s. You’ll pop the achievement once you beat overtime.
Fucking facts.
Funny thing is I did that achievement twice on 360 and on Xbox one lmao
In terms of 7 day survivor, you could just not use the time skip feature
The mini chainsaws in the original were the best in the game (with books). In this, they’re nerfed heavily. The machete you get from cliff is actually better now.
They were even stronger!? Damn.
Yeah I noticed they were good. Wasn't sure if you could restock on them. The longsword from sean was awesome as well.
Thanks for letting me know. Appreciate you taking time out your day to watch the video too 🫡
@@houseofsten with three books the mini chainsaw can kill up to 2000+ zombies before breaking it is actually insane
Technically not nerfed they still do the same damage but the health for the enemies doesnt go down as fast because of you spam swinging now
@@expert390 true. It’s a kinda “cooldown” damage wise. Which doesn’t apply to the machete now. Which was my point. Still, yeah, you’re right.
A quick tip for the Cletus (gun shop) boss fight if anyone’s interested. since two handed objects can block bullets now, you just have to pick up the display stands in the shop and smack him across the counter with them.
Awesome tip. thanks for sharing !
21:16 it’s so funny that we ALL collectively made this mistake
haha, im glad im not the only one.
You'd think thats how you would use it because it seems like a shooting action. Oh well :D
thanks for watching!
Crazy quick turnaround ! Congratulations dude !
Thank you brother ! Thanks for the tips on 7 day survivor too 🫡
ah your mistake was not starting with zombie genocider run. having the buster *really* helps with a perfect run.
edit: you can get saint while doing all case files. it will unlock at the end of OT mode when you and isabela escape as well.
My first ever playthroguh of DR1 so It never sprung to mind for some reason.
I'd of probably put myself to sleep starting with that too 🤣
I don’t recommend going for the buster first it’s an insane grind and the games easy enough so that you don’t need it.
Didn't think it would actually be a character in the game ☠️
Thanks for watching !
I'm in England and I'm going to go through the DR3 soon for all the achievements, if you need a co-op partner I'm happy to help as it'll be the 2nd time collecting everything in game.
Nice man, thanks
ill be having a break from dead rising for abit but ill keep that in mind. thank you!
Did you get all the DR 3 achievements, sir? Even that MONSTER one with, like, 57 parts to it?
I really enjoyed your video! The editing was great and I enjoyed the humor that you added. Not to mention what the game already had to offer. Makes me want to do this game myself since I also didn't play the original. Keep it up!
Thanks mate. Really glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate you taking time out your day to watch it.
You should definitely try it. It's rough at times to learn but worth it in the end !
Lmao bro, you doing the remaster first is going to make the OG deadrising a miserable experience 😂 I look forward to it
haha, looking forward to doing it! (i think...)
thanks for watching!
Love watching your vids mate. Have subscribed
Thank you so much!
glad you enjoy the content and I appreciate you taking time out of your day to watch it. It really means alot!

I hope there will be less lickerskin in DR2. Still a great watch, love your dedication my friend!
Don't worry master water melon, the lickers shall be staying at RPD
Thank you 🍉 🫡
Managed to get all the achievements in 2 play throughs of 72 hr mode and 1 play through of ♾️ mode. They definitely dulled down the difficulty a lot.
Nice man! how many hours did it take you to finish do you think?
Difficulty in terms of achievements or the game itself? I know autosaves and time skipping make the game ridiculously easier
do you think it may just be because you've done the OG before so knew what to do?
@houseofsten
Okay I will try but eugh It's a nightmare then stun you when they hit you But it doesn't happen when you shoot them! It really takes the fun out of it
@@HappyDude1 Dodge, and learn Disembowel. It's a game changer and so much fun.

6:20 this was funny to me the way his head snaps back and forth out of sheer panic
Haha I didn't notice that. Licker skin making everything funny 😁
Sten: 'Go away Kent'-he held the shotgun with both hands-'I'm busy', Kent, unwilling and too much of a idiot to know exclaimed 'Hey you!-' as he got a nice shotgun to the face. lol
hahaha, the anger built up throughout the game. I couldn't tolerate him anymore!

Its all over trueachievements and stuff so I just go off what I can see to give abit of context
thanks for testing it and risking it.
Lets gooo, the dedication was amazing with the 24 hour stream
Thank you brother. Cheers for being there !

Tell me about it. Achievement hunting channels are such a rarity.
Hell yeah! not many around but I do what I do :D
thanks for watching and being part of the journey. I appreciate the support
I also recently did this challenge, heres a few tips I found out during my playtime (as well as some corrections):
5:56 portraits don't require you to take a photo they just require you to have met the survivor in question.
7:53 if you can believe it, this AI is still actually significantly smarter.
13:10 the mini chainsaws are honestly much worse than they were, I'm not really sure if they're worth keeping on you over the mannequin torso if you aren't buffing them with books
14:06 if you only use "advance time" and not "fast advance" you theoretically can't skip transmissions.
37:16 You don't need pictures of brad and jessie anymore, but in the original version I believe that's what causes the achievement to pop
39:45 Not related to the challenge, but to clarify this scene she was infected by Barnaby.
I'll pin it if that's cool? since it gives pretty good insight into what I did wrong, some corrections/answers on achievements etc
I'll start off by saying yes, I did a lot wrong. my interpretation of some of the achievements may of been wrong, some of the guides/info i went off on trueachievements were from the OG version so I did things I did not have to do/may have lead me down a different route etc. and of course, I didn't do the OG before so a lot of this achievement hunt was trial and error. hindsight is a marvellous thing and had I been able to do it all again now, I would change alot of what I did. but this video shows the journey of unlocking them so that what you all get to see!

The fact that 9% of players didn't take a photograph is crazy to think about
Hahaha, hopefully it's gone up by now 😅
Such a good channel this mate, keep it up!
Ahh cheers mate. I appreciate it alot. Thanks for taking time out your day to watch the content 🫡
Take my like you beast you.
Thank you , have a love back ❤️
I remember getting the Saint achievement even when I did the true ending even though most people say you need to do ending B.
So yeah, 'go for B' is, I think, meant for folks that may have let more than one survivor die, but to get them all, Brad and Jessie must die, and Isabella won't leave until after OT, and she's the 50th.
I want to see your reaction to the tank battle in the OG, if you thought this was clunky hoy boy you haven't seen it all

He is the most insufferable character ever haha!
glad im not the only one
DRDR is a pretty easy 100%, not gonna lie. I'm not particularly good at video games and I did it in under 19 hours.
Ahh i did not realise it gives you an item. I just wanted the achievement mostly.
thanks for letting me know though and i appreciate you watching!
I really hate how old they made Frank look in this. He looks like he aged 20 years since the original.
hahaha, yeah they did do him dirty. Luckily I was a licker 99% of the time
thanks for watching!
Heck ya can't break the man!
Hell yeah brother!
Broken but still functional (just) 🤣 ❤️
You can actually get the Saint achievement when getting the true ending you just have to save all listed and unlisted survivors as well as complete overtime mode because after Brad and Jessie die you have 48 survivors but with overtime mode Frank and Isabella count as the last 2 you need
A few have mentioned that! Thanks for letting me know. Didn't realise at the time. From what I read online, it seems alot of people aren't aware
Thanks for watching!
Hell yeah dude good luck playing dead rising 2
Thank you my man. Loving it so far
Nice video mate!
Thanks Rob! looking forward to yours
what happened to your other dead rising playthroughs?
They are a work in progress.
Sten just finished Case West and is currently working on DR2. 😊
Still working through them mate! takes abit of time to edit but they are on the way :)
@@houseofsten ah ok your wording in video made it sound like you had done them already
"20 saves is massive compared to the 3 you had before"
It's also massive compared to the singular one you had for a run, in the original ;_;
The weirdness about how much meat americans eat, is a parralel / analogy with zombies insatiable hunger and consumerism.
Just burnt myself out doing it all in like 40 hours 🤣
Have you completed it all too?
Thanks for watching !
The same thing happened to me on my first run going to get brads meds the time is brutal
Brutal isn't it. I assumed it would recharge but just didn't 😔
Have you completed it all yet ?
Thanks for watching !
nice work !, but have you stop on resident evil achiv?
Resident Evil achievements are still coming ! just having a short break playing Dead Rising. RE will be back soon!
Just waiting on your 7 day survivor vid. Would love to see how you did it.
Working on it soon mate! Thanks for watching
Old school game, old school system, old school problems. 🤣🤣
Be well.
NO WAY A FREAKING GRANNY OF ALL THINGS WAS ABLE TO WRESTLE OFF 2 FULLY GROWN MEN AND BE THE REASON WHY THE MALL GOT OVER RUN BRO
I know right. Somebody please nerf grandma's already 😫
What happend to the rdr2 gold medal video?
It was my first video and is unfortunately filled with a lot of copyright music etc before i knew what i was doing .
Plus it was horrific compared to my newer stuff 🤣
Man, watching this reminds me why I both love and hate Dead Rising. 😂
After somehow being there for 18 of the 24 hours and being exhausted at the end of it...I have no idea how you managed the full 24. Sten, you are a man of steel! 😊
Honestly, that ending is so bloody stupid. Almost as stupid as those moronic cultists. Also, I don't care what anyone says, the AI is worse. 😅
P.S. Loved the Wesker cut away. ❤
At least I'm set up for a much smoother ride when it comes to DR OG haha.
thanks my man. It was fun having you all there. definitely would of been way more painful without you all. I'd probably still be streaming it now :D
Onto the next !... just need to find another player for the coop ones .... hmmm
@@houseofsten Hmmm. Maybe you can ask Preston or Charlie?
Hey, where are the plat vids for Stray, Diablo, ect? I wanted to rewatch them but I can't find them anymore
They are currently on members only as a little perk for the channel 🫡
Ey my man is back
Always 🫡
Thanks for watching !
Man forgot to download gmod for his background
I forget everything :)
Recently started dr1 and its so fun
Glad you're enjoying it !
@@houseofsten its peak just otis
Finally brother !!!!
Hell yeah!! enjoy!!
When do you plan on playing the next resident evil game? Still enjoy this video though
Working on re5 video next. Just thought with the remaster of DR It was a good opportunity to enter a new series. It will be soon my friend.
Thanks for watching !
I made the same door mistake in the og version 😂😂
glad im not the only one haha.
thanks for watching
Will you ever do platinums
At some point I may, yeah. There are some playstation exclusives I wanna do. I'll see if santa is nice to me this year haha
@@houseofsten i pray that Nicholas of saints(claus of Santa) will get you a playstation
Ah yes, that time Frank became a pervert with Isabella.
Did they eliminate the erotica tag from the photos?
Haha, they must have! thanks for watching
Nah compared to the OG this platinum was a cakewalk.
Agreed, but i havent done the OG before so it was still abit tricky at times learning the game. If you've done it before and its the exact same game but the achievements/trophies are easier then yes it would be a cakewalk
23:15 David Vs. Gary!!! lffggggg
Absolute banger of a tune.
glad someone picked it up!
when the next RE achivement video?
Finished re5 and working on that. Just riding abit of the dead rising hype and having a little break from RE. Got one more quick spin off game of dead rising case west as the next video then it's straight back on RE while I grind revelations and re4 remake my friend 🫡
Can't believe you're still ignoring Chop 'till You Drop. 😔😔
Doesnt have achievements, its the only downside to the greatest capcom game ever created though
You never know what could happen 👀
How dare you kill Thomas!!!!!!!!!!!!
It did hurt me alot in side but for the sake of the achievement. I had to do what i had to do :(
Wow mavi in the chat is such a cool and funny person, i always see their comments and loose my shit😳
You know what, I can't deny that. Hopefully one day they comment on the video or join the discord
@@houseofsten I bet they would add so much
got them all in two days lol this game was too easy to 100%
If you have done the OG before then yes, it would be incredibly easy
yayayayyaya hooo
Hoooo yayayaya
This game is so easy compared to the original
If you have done the OG then yes, I imagine it would be considering it's pretty much the exact same game with easier versions of the achievements.
If you haven't played it, you still gotta learn the game and the achievements
easy 11/10 game
what did you think of DR2?
@@houseofsten masterpiece!
Yeah you must be weak sauce if this game broke you since it’s super easy baby mode
You're the key ingredient x
Aww bless. Guy thinks he's good. 😂
You must be weak seeming as you don't do exercise and instead put hate comments x
if you haven't played the original go play it attempted to unlock all achievements while your at it the original is why more challenging then this version if you think your a true achievement hunter will you accept my challenge my good sir 🧐
Yeah i 100% will. Will wait a while, might do it as the last game of the series. Luckily I'll have a pretty good idea on what to do this time so there won't be too much trial and error
Challenge accepted!
thanks for watching
@@houseofsten yay I'm really looking forward to seeing you attempt the 7 day survivor in this version also how your going for every dead rising game achievements DR3 does have multiplayer achievements it's basically dead same goes for DR4 and it's mini golf DLC I've been trying myself to unlock every achievement for every dead rising so I'll leave my gamertag here ReV Amethyst just in case you need help
This will be a nice 1000gs to add to my 200k
Nice! Did you do the OG back in the day? What games have you been working on recently too?
@houseofsten Sker Ritual, as it doesn't seem too difficult if you are used to Cod Zombies, and the Fatal Frames games.
